Meetings. Are. So. BORING. Leia thought to herself as she watched the clock in the council meeting room. Dan (DOE) kept talking about how the schools needed thicker textbooks and more worksheets. It was all so stupid, like why couldn't they make an effort to actually teach the kids something instead of making them read it out of a book. Seriously though, there was multiple scientific studies that proved teachers teaching a subject with hands on activities was 60% more effective than using a textbook-based teaching method. Anyways, Dan kept talking and Leia kept watching the second hand move around the clock. She could tell the Mon was completely tuned out too. She kept looking at the clock, glancing around the room, and playing with the paper in front of her. Thank goodness that there was only ten more minutes until Dan's presentation time would be up.

Leia's head was pounding. After Dan finished, they had moved on to a different topic. The education manager had been excused and left, thank goodness. Mon mothma had started a different discussion about the recent destruction of an old imperial base. They all talked about that for a little while, then moved on to the protests about school exams. Basically, what was happening was that kids were spending too much time hanging out with friends, and not enough time studying. Their parents all believed that their children were perfect and that the exams were false graded. They weren't. It was so annoying how people always thought that their kids were so amazing they would never do anything wrong. They just weren't ready to accept the fact that no one is without flaws. Then again, she was sure that she would probably think something along those lines when her and Han had children.

Finally, no more meetings left today!! Woohoo!!! Now I can finally get some work done, thought Leia. She walked down the hall to her office and opened the door. Inside was a desk, some chairs, a bookcase, a rug, and a small sofa. She had a fairly large office, but the only thing she ever used was the desk. She sat down at her computer and opened the latest report she had to write. Of course, just my luck, she thought. She had to write a report for the department of education. The council had decided not to approve Dan's textbook plan, and now she was the "lucky" one who had to write why. "Dan,", she wrote,"We are sorry to announce that your plan has not been approved. We feel that a more hands on approach is necessary to further the children's education,..." etc. etc. All of a sudden, Leia felt a sudden wave of nausea come over her. She ran into the bathroom and threw up. "It's probably something that I ate", she thought. Then she remembered that the only thing she had eaten all day was some oatmeal in the morning. "I don't think that I'm actually sick", she thought," I'll just stay in my office and go home later." Then she saw that it was still just 8:30 am.
