The Jedi and the Mandalorian
Third Person's POV
It was a cool day of October and many students were starting to decorate the common areas of the campus as well as the frat houses for Halloween.
Hera and Sabine were in their favorite coffee shop talking about the upcoming mid-term exams and the upcoming Halloween party.
"So, do you already know what are you going to dress up for the party?" Hera asked.
"I have some ideas but I'm not sure yet." Sabine answered.
"And what about Ezra?" The older woman asked. "Does he already know what is he going to dress up for the party?"
Sabine nodded. "He does but doesn't want to tell me, he says it's a surprise." She said.
"Oh, that means he'll surprise us with his costume again." Hera answered with a smile on her face.
"Yes, he will." The younger woman answered with a smile.
A few days later, Sabine was finishing applying the lavender color she was going to use as a base coat to the armor pieces she was going to wear as part of her costume when she heard the door being unlocked, meaning Ezra was home.
"'Bine?" Ezra asked.
"Coming!" She said and went to greet him.
"Hey."
"Hey." Ezra said with a smile on his face and pecked her lips.
"How are your parents?" Sabine asked when they broke apart.
"They are fine." Ezra answered as he set a plastic bag on the kitchen counter. "They asked me about you." He said.
"And what did you tell them?" The young woman asked.
"I told them you were busy with a personal project." He said. "They sent you greetings." He said.
"Thanks." Sabine said.
"I also brought leftovers." He said.
"Ooh. Nice." She said. "What did you have for lunch?"
"Dad and I made chicken parmesan with salad." Ezra answered as he took out the plastic containers from the plastic bag.
"So how are you doing with your project?" The young man asked a couple of minutes later.
"It's going well." She answered.
"Are you finally going to tell me what are you doing?" He asked.
"Nope." She answered. "You'll have to wait until Halloween to find out."
Ezra groaned. "You play dirty, Wren." He said.
Sabine giggled and kissed his cheek. "You like it that way, Bridger." She said.
October 31st…
Ezra's POV
I smiled as I looked at myself in the mirror wearing my costume for tonight's party. I was dressed up as Dev Morgan, a character from "Star Wars: Rebellion" one of my favorite TV shows.
My costume consisted of an orange jacket, khaki cargo pants, brown boots, green gloves and a belt that had a holster where I was carrying a toy blaster.
I straightened my jacket and grabbed my toy lightsaber and walked out of the Master bedroom.
"'Bine?" I asked as I knocked on the door of Sabine's art studio. "Are you ready?"
"Almost." She answered.
I sighed and went to wait for her in the living room. A couple of minutes later, I heard the door opening and sighed happily; I stood up and turned around to face Sabine but my breath got caught in my throat when I saw her.
She was dressed up as Ria Talla, another character from Rebellion but she was a Mandalorian and Sabine had done an amazing job recreating Ria's armor.
"You look amazing." I said in awe.
She took off her helmet and smiled at me. "Thank you." She said. "You look quite dashing as well." She said.
"Thanks." I answered with a light blush on my face. "You did an amazing job recreating Ria's armor but I don't remember that she had all these designs on her armor." I said eying her.
"I know but I decided to put my own personal touch on it." She answered.
"Still looks pretty amazing, babe." I said.
"Thank you." She said and kissed my cheek. "Now, let's go. Kanan and Hera are waiting for us.
Sabine's POV
We arrived at the house of one of the members of the football team where the Halloween party was being held. It was already in full swing, there was loud music blasting through the windows and many students were gathered out on the front lawn howling and laughing while throwing their drinks up in the air.
None of us consider ourselves people party but Zeb had invited us to the Halloween party the football team organizes every year; Ezra and I were reluctant to come since neither of us are big fans of parties but Kanan and Hera assured us that the parties the football team organizes are good.
Hera parked her car – which she had named the Ghost – and we walked to the entrance where Zeb was waiting for us.
"Hey, guys!" He said. "You all look awesome!"
"Thanks." We all answered.
"Now let me see if I can guess what you are." Zeb said and looked at Kanan first.
"Kanan, you are…a Jedi Master." Zeb said when he saw Kanan's brown and large robes and the toy lightsaber that was hooked in his belt.
"That's right." Kanan answered smiling.
"Alright!" Zeb said smiling, then, he looked at Hera. "Okay, Hera. I'd say you are a war pilot, am I right?" He asked.
Hera nodded. "Yes, you are." She said. She was wearing a blue bomber jacket and an orange, gray and brown flight suit and on her head, she had a pair of pilot goggles.
"Nice." Zeb answered, then, he looked at Ezra and me.
"Let's see…" He said. "Sabine, you are a Mandalorian. That's obvious." He said.
"Yup." I answered.
"And Ezra, you are…some kind of Jedi scoundrel?" He asked.
Ezra chuckled. "Yeah, something like that." My boyfriend answered. "I'm Dev Morgan!" He said happily.
"Oh! So, if you are Dev Morgan, I'm guessing that Sabine is Ria Talla, right?" He asked.
"That's right." I said.
Zeb grinned. "Nice." He said. "I'm glad you guys could make it! Food and drinks are in the kitchen. Mitch and Jason are in charge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and making sure they are separated, so don't accept drinks from anyone but them, Got it?" He said and we all nodded in response.
"Ezra, they are organizing a Just Dance competition in case you're interested." Zeb said.
"Nice. Thanks, man." Ezra said and bumped his fist with Zeb's before kissing my cheek and walking inside the house.
Kanan said something to Hera and kissed her cheek before disappearing with Zeb into the house, leaving me and Hera.
"Well, I guess it will be a girls night for a bit." Hera said.
I chuckled. "I'm okay with it." I said and we walked into the house.
Almost two hours later, I was looking for Ezra. Hera and Kanan were currently dancing, so I decided to see what my boyfriend was up to. I went upstairs and heard cheering and clapping coming from the game room; I made my way between the partygoers until I reached the front of the group and smiled when I saw Ezra dancing "Maps" along with three other people. It was no surprise he had the highest score since he liked the game so much and there were days where he spent the entire afternoon playing it.
The song ended and everyone cheered when we saw that Ezra had won the five stars, he high-fived some guys and smiled widely when he saw me.
"Hey!" He said.
"Hey." I said. "Nice moves."
"Thanks." He answered. "You wanna play?" He asked.
"Sure." I answered.
He smiled and went to talk with the one who was in charge of the game; he came back and took a sip from a red cup.
"Ready?" He asked.
"Sure." I said and we walked to the space in front of the Kinect.
"Ready to lose, Bridger?" I asked teasingly, earning some "Ooo's" from the crowd.
"In your dreams, Wren." He answered and the crowd cheered.
I rolled my eyes playfully and shook my head as the song we were going to dance was starting. Four songs later I was getting tired, I don't know how Ezra wasn't tired yet but he saw I was and chose one last song.
"Ready for the last song of the night?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said before sipping my water. "Let's do it." I said as "You're the only that I want" started playing.
As we danced, I felt the rest of the world disappearing around us. I'm so lucky to have a boyfriend like Ezra and I like he's the only one that can help me forget about the rest of the world.
The song ended and he set me back on the floor as everyone cheered and clapped.
"Let's take some air." He said and I nodded.
We picked up our things and left the game room; we went downstairs and walked out of the house but before he could walk to the sidewalk, I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned up to kiss him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and deepened the kiss.
"I love you." He said when we broke apart.
"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum." I said in Mandalorian and his eyes widened in surprise.
"You learned Mandalorian?" He asked.
I giggled and pecked his lips. "Yeah, I thought it would help me to get into character." I said.
"Well, you did an amazing job." He said.
I smiled and kissed him again. "Ner Jetii." I said between kisses.
"What did you say?" He asked when we broke apart for the second time.
"My Jedi." I said and kissed him again.
"You ready to return to the apartment?" I asked after a couple of minutes.
"Yup. Do you think we can still get some candy?" He asked.
"Maybe if we hurry we can still get some." I said.
He gave me that dorky smile I love so much and started to walk down the street, I put on my helmet and we went trick-or-treating.
