The next evening after getting their hands on the Green Key of Senga as their second Ratakyan Key, Sonic and the others were chilling at the Croft Mansion as they prepared to head off to Egypt where the third key laid somewhere within the Great Pyramids.
Sonic was in Lara's bedroom, looking at pictures of her family as well as photos of her from when she was ten, including a few magazines which showed her modeling in various dresses and skimpy costumes (including swimsuits).
As for Tails and Sarah, they were off doing their own thing, stargazing, while Oskar and the butler Tom were on dusting duty to ensure nothing in the mansion got dusty.
Lara was getting something to drink, all while making sure nobody tried to steal the keys. Tomorrow, they would be heading to Egypt and visit the Pyramids. The question was, why would the Ratakyans hide one of their keys in Egypt in a well-known landmark?
We've sure as heck made epic progress, Sonic thought, even though we did have a close call with those terrorist guys who wanted the keys too.
Man, Lara sure does have a load of enemies and rivals just like I do, but at least she never gives up and keeps pushing forward.
He put aside the pictures and the magazines on the dresser and lay back on the bed, feeling how soft the comforters and the pillow were.
As the blue hedgehog thought of his relationship with Lara, he couldn't help but think of how gorgeous she was.
It was at this point that the door opened and Lara walked in, wearing a purple tank top and brown shorts.
"How are you doing?" She asked.
The speedster smiled, "I'm ok. Everything's all way past cool, what about you?" The archeologist shrugged, "Nothing much, not unless I had you on the mind while I was thinking of the progress we've been making so far when it comes to the treasure hunt, despite a few roadblocks here and there."
"You've been thinking about me?" Sonic shrugged, "Huh, I was thinkin' about you too, I do ponder, why is it we got each other on the mind?"
Lara scratched the back of her head with a chuckle, "Uh, I dunno. Maybe we've been growin' on each other since we met."
She sighed, "Alright, I have feelings for ya." That made the blue blur blush before realizing that he was experiencing some attachment to this 'chick', "Really? I was gonna tell you myself. What a coincidence, our feelings for each other have been growing from the second we me."
Both adventurers laughed, then they looked into each other's eyes.
"I… I love you, Sonic!" The archeologist said, taking Sonic's hand. "Thanks." The hedgehog smiled, "And I love you too so much, Lara Croft."
Wrapping their arms around each other and not hesitating any longer, completely open about their feelings for one another, the two of them kissed. Sonic and Lara's hearts fluttered with happiness; the fires of passion were burning brighter than the sun itself.
The two of them deepened the kiss before breaking apart to breathe.
Sonic then asked, "Lara, will you, y'know, be my girlfriend?"
"Of course, handsome. We love and deeply care about each other."
"Hooba dooba."
"I also have a great idea that you'll like..."
With those words, Lara closed the door, pushed Sonic on the bed and they began to kiss passionately again, quickly going into French-Kiss mode as they got ready for their long night of passion and fun, which was what Sonic always enjoyed whenever he was in a relationship with certain girls…
