We open to a bank that looks to be in the middle of a robbery.
We see a bunch of guards tied to what appear to be rainbow coloured scarfs, struggling to get out but to no affect.
There, we see the blue faced magician known as Mumbo, walking out of a vault while carrying bags of money floating in front of him. "Yes, this will go well as a satisfying end to act 3."
The blue faced magician tips his hat at the tied up guards before waving his wand in an attempt to disappear. But before he could attempt such a thing, a green eagle swooped in and snatched the wand out of the magicians hand.
The blue faced magician looked up and saw the Teen Titans, who have gotten there in time. With Beast Boy, holding the wand as he turned back into human form.
"Hey, got your little magic stick. Now, how about we 'stick' it to ya and get out?" Beast Boy laughed at his little joke, while the Titans just groaned at the awful joke.
"This show's a bust, couldn't you give us something original besides making stuff float?" Kid Flash jokingly asked in an effort to anger the blue faced magician. "That and I can see the wire."
The little joke got a chuckle out of some of the members, but Beast Boy just glared at the speedster, jealous over him getting laughs out of the team.
"No offence, but you do need to work on some of your jokes." The Terra hallucination advised the green changeling.
"Titans, Go!"
The Titans jumped off the railing to fight the thieving magician.
"Mumbo Jumbo!" Mumbo fired cards out of his sleeve in an attempt to stop the Titans.
Kid Flash dodged each deck with his super speed, Robin deflected them with his bow staff, Starfire blasted the incoming deck, Raven used her magic to set the cards on fire, Cyborg blasted the cards with his laser, Jinx hex blasted the deck while Beast Boy turned into a fly and manoeuvred his way out of them.
Soon the cards stopped flying towards the Titans, leaving Mumbo appearing to be defenceless.
"Guess you don't have any more tricks up your sleeves Mumbo." Robin said.
"You are mistaken Boy Wonder, I do have one more." Mumbo pulled a wand out of his sleeve, causing confusion for the Teen Titans since they thought Beast Boy got it.
Beast Boy looked at the hand that was holding the wand, and realised it was just a bouquet of flowers instead. "Dude!" Was how Beast Boy reacted.
Beast Boy then offered the flowers to Raven, who in returned just made them explode into petals.
The Titans start to charge at the blue faced magician. Mumbo then casted a spell to release giant rabbits from his hat and said, "Everyone loves this trick."
"Until it gets old." Said Raven.
The giant rabbits charged at the Titans, intending to throw them off.
"Beast Boy, get the wand! We'll hold them off." Ordered Robin.
Beast Boy gave his leader a nod before turning into a rat.
Robin hit the rabbits with his staff, turning them into smoke upon impact.
Starfire is seen blasting the rabbits with Jinx, also turning into smoke upon impact.
"Last time I saw a rabbit, they were cute and friendly; not cute and threatening." Starfire said.
"Well, disappointments happen." Replied Jinx.
Cyborg and Kid Flash are seen punching the rabbits turning them into smoke.
Cyborg blasts five of them, turning into smoke. "Hey Road Runner, 9 already!"
Kid Flash smirked and replied, "I got five, plus ten more."
Kid Flash disappeared in a blur leaving Cyborg smirking. "Ooh, I'm gonna beat his record someday."
Raven is seen using her dark powers to make the rabbits spontaneously combust. The empath was doing it with so much intensity, due to the bunnies being a reminder of that embarrassing time Mumbo transformed her into one.
"Next time, don't summon an army of rabbits. I hate rabbits." Said a frustrated Raven.
Meanwhile, Mumbo is watching the fight from afar while carefully placing his bags of money in his hat. He stopped placing the money in his hat and realised his army of rabbits was being defeated. The blue magician stood shocked and poked his head in his hate to see if he had anymore rabbits. "Out of rabbits."
Mumbo pulled his head out of his hat and put it back on. "No matter, I'll just used my wand to-"
Suddenly, Mumbo screamed at the top of his lungs due to a green rat biting down hard in his hand, causing him to drop his wand due to the anguish.
"Somebody get the wand!" Robin shouted while taking care of the killer bunnies.
Mumbo tried shaking Beast Boy off his hand, but it was no use. Kid Flash quickly grabbed the wand and handed it to Robin.
"Shows over Mumbo, give up!" Robin shouted.
Mumbo's face of anguish disappeared and it turned into a sinister smile. "How about one more trick?"
He suddenly grabbed Beast Boy and from his hand and threw him in his hat.
"Let him out of that disgusting place!" Raven shouted.
"Disgusting?!" Mumbo exclaimed sounding insulted. "One more insult and I won't pull him out!"
"What are you doing to Beast Boy, Mumbo?!" Robin clenched his fists, ready to attack Mumbo.
"Since the rabbit out of the hat trick is too old, how about..." Mumbo pulled Beast Boy out of his hat, still in his rat form. "...The rat out of the hat trick!!!"
"Let Beast Boy go!" Starfire shouted.
"Ok." Mumbo lets go of Beast Boy and the rat ran up to Kid Flash. The speedster picked him up and the rat started to crawl all over him.
"Woah, Beast Boy. What are you doing?"
The blue faced magician grinned evilly, bent down to his knees and placed his hands behind his head.
"Wise decision Mumbo." Said Robin.
Later.
The police are seen forcing Mumbo into the police van, intending to lock him up for good this time. But Robin looked unimpressed.
"Something wrong Rob?" Cyborg asked his leader.
"He just gave himself up, I don't like it." Robin replied.
"Perhaps it could be Raven's abilities that intimidated him." Suggested the Tamaranian.
"Really? Despite the fact he turned her into a rabbit?" Jinx gave a small chuckle about Raven being transformed into a rabbit. The empath glared at the pink haired sorceress while her eyes glowed red. "What?" Jinx chuckled again. "Hey Kid, I wish you found me a lot faster so I could've been there for that moment."
"Then there would've been a chance you would've been turned into an animal as well." Said Cyborg.
"Hope it'll be better than a bear in a tutu." Jinx laughed even harder at the thought of Cyborg as a bear in a tutu; Cyborg just rolled his human eye.
Robin crossed his arms and stared at the van that had Mumbo in the back.
"I assume you're going to question Mumbo?" Kid Flash asked while trying to stop Beast Boy from crawling all over his body.
"You know me to well. That and I didn't know you and Beast Boy were practicing a little show." Robin gave his best friend a small smile, amused by what he was doing with Beast Boy.
"We aren't. Beast Boy's crawling all over me like crazy." Kid Flash replied.
"Yeah right. Titans, lets go back to the base. Cyborg, you think you can gain access to the maximum security prison?"
"Sure can Rob." Cyborg replied.
Later. At the Titans tower, Beast Boy is seen still crawling all over Kid Flash.
Kid Flash tried to eat a taco, but Beast Boy jumped on it and started eating the lettuce slices on top.
Kid Flash dropped his taco on the plate, leaving Beast Boy to continue feasting on the taco, which confused Kid Flash.
Meanwhile, Jinx was sitting on the couch drawing in her notebook, Raven was reading a book, while Starfire was on her laptop looking at news.
Jinx got a quick glimpse of what Starfire was looking at. "Missing rats?"
"I have no idea how to react to that news either." Starfire replied.
"There are no missing rats, we already got one." Raven pointed to Beast Boy, who continued to consume the taco.
Starfire and Jinx stared at each other, confused by Beast Boy suddenly gorging on meat.
Robin and Cyborg are seen staring at the screen, watching security footage of highly armed guards escorting Mumbo to his cell.
"Seems normal to me." Said Cyborg.
"But it's not like Mumbo to hand himself in so easily." Robin crossed his arms, feeling suspicious of Mumbo. Like a Slade level of suspicious.
"Hey Robin, could you tell Beast Boy to stop crawling all over me." Kid Flash yelled while moving around the common room trying to shake Beast Boy off of him.
Cyborg and Robin turned to face Kid Flash who was trying to shake Beast Boy off his leg.
Jinx, Starfire and Raven stood back up and start staring at Kid Flash.
"What is going on?" Asked Raven.
"Are you seriously asking what is going on?" Exclaimed Kid Flash. "Beast Boy has remained in rat form for 56 minutes and he's been crawling all over me."
Raven used her magic to get Beast Boy off of the speedster. But the rat only just jumped back on Kid Flash's leg.
"Ok, this has gone on long enough Beast Boy!"
"Yo Grass Stain, aren't you gonna turn back?" The bionic Titan asked the changeling. But Beast Boy just continued to crawl all over Kid Flash.
"Beast Boy! Stop crawling all over Kid Flash!" Robin ordered his teammate, but he just continued to crawl all over Kid Flash.
"Hey Beast Boy, don't make me hex blast ya." Threatened Jinx.
"Slow poke!" Kid Flash shouted to change Jinx's mind about blasting Beast Boy, since she'll blast him as well.
"I wasn't! Thought that would've gotten him off." Jinx explained.
Starfire flew up to Kid Flash and removed Beast Boy from his leg.
When Starfire held the green rat, it was struggling to release itself from her Tamaranean grip. "Friend Beast Boy, whatever is the matter?"
Starfire started to shake the green rat. "Beast Boy! Beast-" And without warning, the green rat bit Starfire causing her to drop the rat and scream "Ow!"
Robin ran to Starfire while the rat scurried away.
"Star, are you ok?" Robin asked his girlfriend.
Starfire held her hand, trying to ease the pain. "Just a bite my love." Starfire said.
"Can I ask what is going on with Beast Boy?" Jinx asked.
"I'm not sure." Cyborg replied.
"I don't think he is Beast Boy." Raven pointed out.
Kid Flash huffed and yelled "When have you ever seen a green rat?"
"What I meant was he isn't Beast Boy, mentally." Raven explained. "Mumbo must have done something to him to make him believe he is mentally a rat."
"It was probably when Mumbo put him in the hat that caused it." Cyborg suggested.
"That does seem likely." Jinx agreed.
"Ok. Jinx, Raven and I will interrogate Mumbo. Cyborg, Starfire, Kid Flash, stay at the tower. Cyborg, while you're here take Star to the med bay, her bite wound could be infected."
"You got it Rob." Cyborg replied.
"But Robin, I am fine." Starfire insisted her boyfriend.
"Gotta take precautions Star." Robin said. "Titans, do your stuff."
Robin, Raven and Jinx run out of the tower to interrogate Mumbo.
"I am fine Cyborg, I insist."
"Gotta be sure, Star." Cybrog said as he gently held Starfire by the hand and started escorting her to the
Later at Jump City Maximum Security prison.
Robin, Jinx and Raven are seen being escorted to Mumbo's cell by security guards.
"How hard was he?" Asked Robin.
"He wasn't hard without his props." The guard explained. "Thank goodness you took the wand instead of us, I don't think we would catch him if we kept it."
"I don't think either of us would have."
The guards lead the three Titans to the cell door and opened the door for them.
"Let us know if you need anything." The guards said.
"We'll let you know if we need something to make him disappear." Raven said as she and her teammates entered the white prison cell.
Mumbo was in his jail cell sitting on a chair, hands cuffed to a table. He smiled upon seeing the Titans enter his cell.
"What brings you here on this fine evening?" Mumbo asked the team.
"What did you do to Beast Boy, Mumbo?!" Raven aggressively asked the blue faced magician.
"What do you mean what did I do?" Mumbo asked, pretending to be clueless.
"You're lying!" Exclaimed Jinx. "I should know because I used that trick multiple times and it never got me anywhere."
"Whatever is the matter with him?" Mumbo asked, curious to what is going on with the green changeling; even though he knew the answer.
"You've turned him into a rat, how?" Raven clenched her fists, having a strong urge to punch Mumbo really hard in his stupid blue face.
"Lets say it had something to do with the new rat in the hat trick." Mumbo replied.
"I knew it." Jinx exclaimed.
"How do we turn Beast Boy back to normal?"
"No Boy Wonder, the correct question is: How do we get Beast Boy back?" Mumbo gave a the team a huge smile while Robin gritted his teeth in anger.
"What do you mean?" Robin asked angrily, like he just wanted to slam Mumbo's head against the table.
"I didn't turn Beast Boy into a rat, his brain is in my hat." Mumbo explained. "When I put him in my hat, his brain was released and replaced with the animal he was currently. Now he's nothing more than a literal rat and he won't be able change back to his regular self." Mumbo laughed wildly while the Titans glared at him.
"Is there a way to reverse it?" Robin asked.
"Well, since it's way past my bedtime and I don't want you to be here all night, I'll tell you. Get me my hat and I'll get him out."
"Much obliged." Robin walked to the door and knocked on it.
"Yeah?!" Responded a guard outside.
"We need Mumbo's hate." Robin replied.
"Are you insane?!" The guard shouted.
"We know what we're doing, go get it." Robin commanded.
"Yes sir!"
Robin turned to stare at Mumbo suspiciously, while the blue magician just smiled and gave a small wave to Robin.
"Something bothering you?" Asked Jinx.
"He's probably planning something." Robin replied, glaring at the grinning magician.
Meanwhile at the Titans infirmary.
Cyborg is seen cleaning Starfire's bite mark with a wet cloth, to clean her from any infections the bite might have had.
"How you feeling Star?" Asked Cyborg.
"I assure you, I was ok before." Starfire insisted her teammate.
"Yeah, you can't be sure with a bite from an animal." Cybrog explained.
Kid Flash entered the infirmary eating a cheese sandwich. "How's she doing?"
"She should be fine. No sign of any infection." Cyborg informed his fast teammate. "Weren't you meant to be looking for Beast Boy?"
"Despite my super speed, I couldn't find him."
"We gotta keep looking around the tower for Grass Stain, he could be anywhere." Cyborg said.
"How can we be sure Beast Boy is doing the hiding in the tower?" Starfire asked her teammates.
"He couldn't have gone far. Besides, we're on an island."
"Actually, rats are known to swim." Kid Flash informed the bionic teen.
"They do?" Cyborg asked, surprised by this revelation.
Kid Flash chuckled at the surprised look on Cyborg's face. "Robin assigned you as a medic and you didn't know rats swam?"
Cyborg looked away, embarrassed by his lack of knowledge about rats. "Some smart people don't know a lot of stuff about the animal kingdom."
Kid Flash laughed even harder. "I'm so gonna tell the Grass Stain about this once this is over."
"Please don't, he'll be mocking me for weeks."
Starfire smiled and said, "Perhaps you can tell Beast Boy about Cyborg's mistake now."
Cyborg and Kid Flash stared at Starfire, confused before she nodded her head to the right. The two teens turned their heads to the right and see Beast Boy messing with the equipment.
Cyborg and Kid Flash gave each other a stare before nodding at each other.
"On three Flash?" Cyborg asked the speedster.
"You got it Tin Man."
Cyborg and Kid Flash readied themselves to catch the rat.
"One."
"Two."
"Three!"
Cyborg and Kid Flash attempted to grab the rat, but the rat jumped off the desk and landed on the floor.
"Out of all the people who have outrun me, I didn't expect a rat to be the most humiliating." Said the frustrated Speedster.
They heard a squeak and see the green rat eating Kid Flash's cheese sandwich that was on the floor.
"Hey, I was gonna eat that!" Kid Flash shouted angrily.
"Off the floor?" Cyborg asked with a disgusted eyebrow raised.
Before Cyborg and Kid Flash could grab the rat, Starfire quickly trapped the rat in a jar before it could run away again.
"Now Beast Boy, I'm gonna gently pick you up and wish for you to not do the biting." The Tamaranean gently removes the jar from Beast Boy and picks him up.
"Star, you have no idea where he's been." Yelled Cyborg.
Starfire started to stroke the green rat. "Judging by how wet he is, I think he was eaten by Silkie who then spat him out after realising he didn't taste good." Starfire explained.
"Well, that's useful information." Kid Flash said sarcastically.
"Oh, how do we get our friend out of his predicament?" Starfire asked while holding on to her green friend.
Kid Flash snapped his finger and replied, "Wand!" Kid Flash disappeared in a blur and returned holding a wand.
"What if the wand don't work?" The bionic teen asked the speedster.
Kid Flash stared at the wand and said, "We need a Guinea pig."
"What do you think will be the appropriate test subject?" Cyborg asked Kid Flash.
"Well..."
We then cut to Cyborg panicking, like he was gonna lose a friend. "Are you crazy for using that as a test subject?!"
"Relax, I'll switch it back."
"But why did you wanna test the wand on the T-Car! I built it with my own hands!"
The three teens stood in the Titan's garage, where Kid Flash is planning to test Mumbo's wand on the T-Car.
"Why don't you test the wand on Starfire?!"
"And get an angry Robin knocking down my door? Fat chance." Kid Flash replied.
"Friends please, I do not know how long I can hold friend Beast Boy." The green rat was struggling to get out of Starfire's grasp. He could bite her, but the Tamaranean was wearing hard gloves to make sure the rat's teeth don't sink in her skin.
"Trust me Cy, I'm gonna turn the T-car into a T-limo." Kid Flash waved the wand and shouted "Mumbo Jumbo!"
Instead of turning the T-Car into a T-Limo, Kid Flash accidentally shrank the T-Car to the size of a toy car.
Kid Flash gave a nervous chuckle while Cyborg glared at him. "Whoops."
Cyborg snatched the wand out of Kid Flash's hand and shouted "Give me that!"
Cyborg waved the wand and shouted "Mumbo Jumbo!" But instead of turning the car back to normal, the spell deflected off of the T-Car and hit Robin's R-Cycle, causing it to turn into a bicycle.
The three teens stared at the mess Cyborg made before Kid Flash laughed. "Oh this is just so good."
"Ok, if Robin asks, it was stolen." Cyborg said to his team.
"Friends, something is up with Beast Boy." Starfire informed her team.
"What?" Cyborg asked his teammate.
"Beast Boy is trying really hard to escape my grasp." Starfire explained.
"We know, he's been doing it for the last seven minutes." Kid Flash murmured.
"No, he's acting like he really needs to go somewhere." Starfire gently placed Beast Boy on the floor. The rat ran to the garage door and started scratching at it.
The three Titans stared at the rat, confused about what to do.
Cyborg approached the green rat, turned him away from the garage; but the rat turned back to the garage door.
"He's keen to get out." Kid Flash quipped. The speedster ran out of the garage and returned with a cheese sandwich. "Come on Beast Boy, I got a cheese sandwich!"
The green rat refused to acknowledge Kid Flash's tempting offer. Kid Flash groaned, ran out of the garage and returned with another sandwich. "How about a tofu sandwich?" But the green rat wouldn't budge.
"Where does he intend to go?" Starfire asked.
Cyborg opened the garage door and let Beast Boy out. "Let's find out ya'll."
The green rat ran out of the garage with the Titans following him.
Meanwhile, back in Mumbo's cell.
The guard entered the cell and handed the hate to Robin. "Sorry it took long." The guard said to the Boy Wonder.
"It's ok." Robin replied just as the guard closed the cell door.
Robin approached the table and placed Mumbo's hat on it.
"Now, what do we do?" Robin asked the blue faced magician.
"Simple. Un-cuff me and I'll let him out." Mumbo replied.
"That's so not happening." Jinx said. "You're just trying to set you free as the right opportunity to strike."
"How can you be sure?" Asked Mumbo.
"Um...I was a bad girl." Jinx crossed her arms in annoyance.
"Don't worry Jinx, I had the right idea what Mumbo was planning." Robin insisted his teammate. "Tell us!"
Mumbo clasped his hands and said, "Put your hand in my hat and pull."
Robin reluctantly put his hand in the hat. He rummaged through the hat to find his friend, but nothing. "Keep going." Said Mumbo.
Robin dug so deep that his arm was now deep in the hat.
"Almost got him Robin?" Raven asked the Boy Wonder.
"Hold on, nothing and..." Robin soon smiled like he found Beast Boy. "I found him."
"Yank him out." Said Mumbo.
Robin tried to yank Beast Boy out, but he couldn't get his arm out. Robin tried as hard as he could to get his arm out, but it wouldn't even move an inch.
"Are you even trying Robin?" Mumbo asked.
"What are you doing to him?" Raven asked the blue faced magician while her eyes glowed red.
Jinx grabbed Robin by the waist to try and pull his arm out, but she couldn't get the arm to move an inch as well.
"Maybe he just needs some assistance." The blue faced magician suggested to his team.
Raven then grabbed Robin's arm and tried to pull it out. Again, not even an inch.
"Robin, try yanking your arm out." Yelled Jinx.
"I'm trying!" Robin tired to pull his arm out, still nothing.
All of a sudden, Robin, Jinx and Raven get sucked into the hat, leaving Mumbo to smile.
"I told them to yank him out." Mumbo said.
Inside the hat.
Raven opens her eyes and saw she was in a dark room. The empath somehow felt small, like she was an animal. "If I'm a-" Raven looks at her hands and realised they were the paws of a rabbit. "Not again."
And yes, Raven is once again a rabbit.
"Raven, are you ok?"
Raven turned to where the voice of her leader came from and saw that Robin was once again a monkey.
The team leader looked himself and covered his eyes embarrassed. "Not again."
The sound of Jinx laughing her head off at the sight of her team as animals is heard. "Oh, this is just so funny."
"Says the one who's licking her paw." Raven murmured in her monotone voice.
Jinx realised that her tongue felt like it was touching something furry. She looked at her hand and realised it wasn't a hand anymore, it was the paw of a black cat.
"Please don't tell me I'm a cat." Said Jinx.
"You're a cat." Raven said, not caring about the pink haired sorceress' reaction.
"You're joking, right?" Jinx asked, not believing Raven.
Suddenly, a mirror showed up in front of Jinx and she saw that she was indeed a black cat. Jinx huffed in annoyance and said, "It's fitting when you think about it."
"Hello Titans!"
The animal Titans looked around to trace the voice of Mumbo, but nothing.
"I'm not in the hat." The voice explained. "I am merely outside the hat for I have casted a spell on you."
"What did you do?" Asked the annoyed Robin.
"I've turned you into animals. And you're gonna stay that way until you find Beast Boy and arrive at the clock tower with Beast Boy."
"Sounds like a simple task." Jinx commented.
"Don't give me that hope." Raven ordered the pink haired sorceress.
"But, there's a time limit. You have 20 minutes on the clock until you are stuck here as my little pets, forever." Mumbo laughed while the Titans glared angrily at the sky, since that's where Mumbo's voice was coming from. "Good luck Titans."
"I hate him so much." Raven said.
"Feelings mutual." Jinx replied while licking her paw.
"Titans, we don't have time to banter. We have to find Beast Boy and reverse the spell." Robin ordered his team.
"Whatever you say Monkey Business." Jinx replied and then chuckled.
Robin did an annoyed sigh while Jinx chuckled at her bad pun.
Meanwhile.
Kid Flash, Starfire and Cyborg were following the green rat in a sewer.
"Aww, this is nasty." Cyborg said while covering his nose.
"I do not understand why this is the nasty, it similarly smells like the fields of the planet Gortalfash." Starfire said.
Kid Flash's eyes went wide about Starfire's comment. "And I always said Robin had a strange taste when it comes to the ladies." Kid Flash mumbled to himself.
The three continued to follow the green rat, deeper into the sewer.
"Friends, do you think perhaps Beast Boy will lead us to the missing rats?" Starfire's question caused her teammates to give her questionable stares.
"Missing rats?" Kid Flash asked, in disbelief.
"Yes. According to the internet there have been no sightings of rats."
"Star, those were probably tabloids." Cyborg explained. "They lie about stuff all the time.
"Besides, missing rats aren't a big deal unless they're pets." Kid Flash said with a confident smile.
The three continued to follow the green rat as it turned right. The three soon followed and saw a whole army of rats that the green rat was following.
The sight of the rats caused the team's eyes to widen. "Ok, I guess the missing rats are a big deal now." Kid Flash said, taking his previous comment back.
The three followed the rats deeper into the sewer with no signs of stopping until they reach their destination.
"Do the rats seem hypnotised to you?" Cyborg asked his teammates.
"They kind of do." Kid Flash agreed. The speedster threw a coin into the sewerage water but the rats didn't take any notice of it.
"Definitely hypnotised." Kid Flash commented. "I wonder who's doing this? The Pied Piper?"
They continued to follow the rats and they lead them to a huge part of the sewers where a whole army of rats were standing by a throne.
The three teammates hid in a small patch in the wall and continued to watch the rats lowering their heads to a man wearing a gas mask and cape; and holding a cane.
"Definitely the Pied Piper." Said Kid Flash.
"No, that ain't the Pied Piper." Cyborg informed his team.
"Then if he isn't the Piper of Pied, then who is he?" The Tamaranean asked.
"Robin told me about this guy during his time in Gotham, the Ratcatcher." Cyborg explained.
The Ratcatcher is seen holding a cane in one hand while a rat in another; stroking the rodent with his thumb as he did.
The Ratcatcher took notice of his rodents and stood up. The rat the gas masked figure was holding, jumped off his hand and joined his rat brothers and sisters. The Ratcatcher spreads his arms out, meaning he was gonna be making a speech.
"Rats of all races and sizes, you have been told to come here by somebody who cares about you." The Ratcatcher began. "You have all been treated like prisoners, trash and nothing more than creatures. Look upon me, I am your leader, I am your father, I am your higher authority. I will respect you, I will let you have your vengeance, I will let you live as people." The rats all squeaked at their, showing it as a sign of acknowledgement, while the Titans just stared at the gas masked villain unsure of what to do.
"Is it just me or have villains gone down the toilet?" Cyborg asked his team.
"You mean metaphorically or literally?" Kid Flash's joke caused him and Cyborg to snicker while Starfire was struggling to understand the joke.
"I do not understand, how can a villain fit down the toilet?" Starfire asked.
"I'll explain later." Kid Flash replied. "Let's just continue to watch this guy who's definitely lost his mind."
The Ratcatcher started to walk down the stairs that were connected to his throne room and greet his rat army. "Your anticipation shall be fulfilled for we begin our first night of attacking the people whom..." The Ratcatcher then noticed Beast Boy still in rat form. He titled his head, curious about this strange discovery. "Now that's an interesting species, what kind of rat are you?"
The Ratcatcher picked up Beast Boy, slightly curious about whoever he is. The Titans on the other hand, clenched their fists in anger.
"The catcher of rats shall pay for what he is going to do to Beast Boy." Starfire mumbled.
"Don't worry, we'll make sure of it." Said Cyborg. "We just gotta find out what he intends to do first."
Unknown to the Titans, a rat was watching them and listening to whatever they were talking about.
The rat ran to the Ratcatcher, who was still stroking the green rat.
"Remind me to later to find out what this rat is." The rat crawled up the Ratcatcher's leg and up to his shoulder and started squeaking in his ear. "Yes...Beast Boy..." The rat continued to squeak while the Ratcatcher continued to listen. "A Teen Titan?!"
Ratcatcher held on to Beast Boy tighter than before, intending to crush him. "I cannot believe they would send you of all people to find little old me. As much as I love rats, a green one will always be the ones I make exception."
Suddenly, the Ratcatcher gets blasted by Cyborg's blaster bolt before he could blast him. Causing him to drop Beast Boy.
"That rat isn't yours to crush." Cyborg said. "Only I will crush him at his high score."
The Ratcatcher stood up and spreads his arms out. "The Teen Titans! I am so happy to meet you at long last. Where's your little bird? I haven't seen him since he left Gotham."
"Maybe it's because you're a little too Pied Piper for his taste. Mine especially." Kid Flash joked.
"Let go of our friend!" Starfire ordered.
"My rats beg to differ." The Ratcatcher pointed his cane at the Titans, signalling the rats to attack them.
The rats charged at the team, but the Titans weren't at all threatened due to them being rats.
Starfire flew up, Cyborg used a sonic sound wave from his blaster cannon to make the rats stand back, while Kid Flash ran to Ratcatcher and held him by his arms.
"Sorry Pied Piper, but I'm afraid you're gonna be forced into a prison cell." Kid Flash said.
"Are you sure?" The Ratcatcher asked.
Starfire is seen using her star bolts to threaten the rats instead of hurting them. "Please leave me alone, I wish not to hurt you rats."
Cyborg continued to use his sound wave gun to incapacitate the rats. "Stay still, I wish not to hurt ya'll!"
Kid Flash still used his signature grin while keep a hold of the Ratcatcher. "You think you're gonna escape from me Pied Piper?"
"Well, if you think of me as the Pied Piper. Than down on the floor is my flute." Ratcatcher points to his cane that is currently on the floor. "And since I'm the Pied Piper, than my flute commands you to sleep."
The cane exploded and gas escaped, surrounding the room. "Now, breathe!" The Ratcatcher shouted.
Kid Flash held his breathe trying to not get knocked out by the gas that was soon surrounding the room.
"Breathe. Breathe. Breathe." Ratcatcher said.
Soon enough, Kid Flash was knocked out with Starfire and Cyborg soon following.
The Ratcatcher folded his arms at the achievement and stared at the green rat on the ground. He titled his head and picked him up. "I wonder why you haven't attacked me. Maybe my little gadget had much to do with the betrayal of your friends." The Ratcatcher stroked Beast Boy and smiled behind his mask. "Let us begin."
The rats all started carrying the unconscious Titans on their backs while Ratcatcher was leading them through the exit to his underground lair.
Meanwhile, in Mumbo's world.
The recently transformed animal Titans were wandering the city that has a lot of buildings with Mumbo's face plastered all over. Robin looked at the clock tower and saw they had 12 minutes left.
"Talk about having an ego." Raven quipped while staring at the buildings.
"Robin, how will we know where Beast Boy is?" Jinx asked her primate leader. "But more importantly, why are you about to eat that flea?"
Robin looked at the flea that was grasped in-between his fingers and realised he was probably intending to eat it. Robin threw it away and disgust and replied, "Animal instincts possibly. And I don't know how we'll find Beast Boy."
"Still, that was pretty disgusting of you."
"Says the one who's licking her paw." Robin quipped.
Jinx looked at her paw and realised her tongue was indeed on it, like she was licking it. "Animal instincts."
"If we're done discussing our animal instincts, I have a question: What is that glowing green gas ball trapped in a cage?" Raven points her bunny paw at a green gas ball trapped in a cage.
The animal Titans approach the green orb and stare at it, curious about what it is.
"What is that?" Jinx asked her teammates.
"I'm not sure." Robin replied.
"It kind of looks like a giant fart cloud." Raven commented on the strange sight she was seeing.
"Well that's just nice."
The Titans looked around the city trying to find the voice that sounded familiar.
"Beast Boy?" Robin said.
"In front of you."
The Titans looked forward and realise the voice of Beast Boy was coming from the green gaseous orb.
"Am I crazy, or did the fart just talk?" Raven asked.
"Am I crazy, or are you a bunny again?" Asked the gaseous orb.
"Ok, that is totally Beast Boy."
"Dudes, how long was I down here?"
"Few hours." Robin replied while throwing away another flea that he was intending to eat.
"So, I've been turned into a giant fart?" Asked the green cloud.
"No time to explain, we gotta get you out." Jinx replied.
Jinx used her hex powers to try and burst Beast Boy out of his prison, but they were useless.
"What?!" Jinx shouted.
"Allow me." Said Raven. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" Raven tried to use her magic to burst Beast Boy out of his prison, but instead her magic tied her bunny ears.
Jinx laughed at the sight along with Beast Boy.
"Humorous isn't it?" Asked the voice of Mumbo. Robin, Jinx and Raven clenched their fists after hearing the voice of the blue faced magician who annoyed them. "Gotta say Robin, not a fan of your new diet."
Robin realised he was about to eat another flea and threw it away.
"Why can't we release him Fooldini?" Jinx asked angrily.
"You can release him, you just gotta defeat my little army." Mumbo explained.
There was a snap and an army of giant rats pop out of nowhere from a cloud of smoke.
"You have 9 minutes to defeat my army and ring the bell from the clock tower. Good luck."
The Titans readied themselves for battle to face the rat army before Robin shouted his signature battle cry, "Titans, Go!"
Robin realised there was a flea in-between his fingers and threw it away.
Jinx used her powers to hex blast the rats causing them to burst into a cloud of smoke. Raven shouted her magic phrase and that caused one of the cars in Mumbo's world to explode, setting the rats ablaze and causing them to explode into a cloud of smoke.
Robin reaches into his utility belt and to pull a birdarang out of his pocket, but instead got a banana. Robin groaned and said, "Of course."
Robin throws the banana and it blew up, surprising Robin. "Of course it surprises me."
Robin pulled his bow staff out which was now a bamboo stick. Robin used his newly found weapon to attack the horde of rats, causing them to turn into smoke upon being hit by the staff.
Jinx fired a hex ring at the incoming rats, causing them to turn into smoke. Suddenly, a rat grabbed ahold of the pink haired black cat. But she quickly fired a hex at the rat's face, causing it to blow up.
Raven casted a spell to make the ground explode underneath some rat's feet, causing them to explode into smoke like the others.
Robin hit the rats with his staff, causing them to blow up into smoke just like the others.
Soon enough, the animal Titans managed to defeat the rat army.
"Mumbo!" Robin shouted.
Mumbo groaned and replied, "Fine."
The door to Beast Boy's cage opened and the green gaseous orb escaped. "Dude, finally."
"But since you defeated my rat army and rescued the green orb quicker than I expected, I had to do something drastic."
"What did you do Mumbo?!" Asked the Ape Wonder.
"Doesn't time fly by?" Mumbo asked then gave a sinister giggle.
The Titans looked at the clock tower and saw that they now have three minutes left.
"Hey, that's cheating!" Beast Boy angrily shouted while Mumbo continued to laugh sinisterly and the Titans clenched their fists.
Back in Jump City.
It was nighttime. Cops were on patrol, couples were out on dates at restaurants and people were out for late night strolls. But all of that was about to change, since a whole army of rats are seen running through the city and causing the citizens to scream.
The Ratcatcher watched the sight while sitting on his throne, that was being carried by an army of rats.
The Ratcatcher stood on his throne and spread his arms out, planning to make a speech. "Citizens of Jump City, you may not know me but I am the Ratcatcher. I have come along way from Gotham." The Ratcatcher began while pointing his cane at the petrified citizens. "For too long you have treated my little friends as trash, prisoners and pests. They are now free thanks to me and my mind control. Now, I will use them to rid this civilisation so we can build a better one."
The Ratcatcher took a deep breath until he heard the sound of somebody knocking on some glass. The Ratcatcher sighed and turned to face his prisoners. Starfire, Cyborg and Kid Flash were trapped in a glass prison cell that was being carried by rats.
"Um...As much as I don't like you, I have to do the pointing out: You say you love rats yet you're using them to attack the people." Starfire pointed out.
"Yeah, that seems a bit hypocritical." Cyborg agreed with Starfire.
"Silence!" The Ratcatcher shouted.
"This prison may have taken our powers, but it will never take our intelligence." Kid Flash yelled in a Scottish accent.
"Was that necessary?" Cyborg asked the Speedster.
Kid Flash smirked and replied, "It was in my head."
"Silence, slaves!" Ratcatcher shouted.
"Are you talking to us or your rats?" Kid Flash queried.
Ratcatcher groaned and pointed his staff at a bank, making the rats enter.
The green rat climbed on to Ratcatcher's shoulder, making the Ratcatcher stroke it.
"Look upon you citizens of Jump City, your precious Titans." The Ratcatcher pointed to the glass prison cell where the Titans were held captive, unimpressed with the villain they were up against. "Why should you look up to them? They are not heroes, they are just a bunch of kids taken out by the Ratcatcher. You shall look upon me and know me as the one who single handily took out the remaining Teen Titans! I don't know the whereabouts of Robin, Raven and ex-villain Jinx, so I suggested they just gave up on me and are in hiding. Now, look at the hawk resting on my shoulder that is Beast-" The Ratcatcher stopped talking and looked at the green hawk that was now on his shoulder. "Wait a-"
Before the Ratcatcher could realise it, the hawk suddenly flew off his shoulder, turned into a camel and spat in his face.
"Aww, what?!" The Ratcatcher cleaned the spit off of his face and angrily stared at the green camel, who turned into Beast Boy.
"Sorry to rain on your parade but these rats need to be lead to somewhere that isn't a river." Beast Boy's appearance caused Cyborg, Starfire and Kid Flash to smile.
"Friend Beast Boy, you are back to normal." Starfire shouted with so much glee in her voice.
"Duh. I'll handle Ratcatcher, you'll just need to wait till the rest of them." Beast Boy explained. "And be careful around Jinx, she'll 'claw' your eyes out if you say anything."
Beast Boy turned into a bull and charged at the Ratcatcher.
The Titan prisoners stood in anticipation for their rescue. "Why did he emphasise the word "claw?" Cyborg asked.
"Look down."
Kid Flash, Starfire and Cyborg looked down and see their remaining teammates, still in animal form.
Their eyes widened in surprised at the sight until Kid Flash gave a small smile. "Oh this is-"
"Not...A...Word." Raven ordered the speedster.
"Promise me I get to cuddle all of you cute little critters after." Kid Flash said.
The animal Titans glared at the speedster before Raven used her magic to free her team.
The Titans exit their cells, smirking at the animal Titans.
"Ooh, you look so cute." Starfire said while clasping her hands together and pulling her monkey boyfriend into a bone crushing hug.
"Star, a little too tight!" Robin shouted while trying to breathe.
"Apologies." Starfire gently placed Robin on the ground so he can fill the team in.
"I'll explain the animal thing later, we just have to focus on stopping the Ratcatcher."
"So, what do we do Rob?" Cyborg asked.
"Me, Kid Flash and Raven will help Beast Boy to try and get the staff." Robin explained. "And you guys, try and handle the rats without murdering them."
"Sure thing Robin, or should I say Monkey?" Kid Flash laughed at his little joke causing Robin to glare at his best friend.
"Titans, Go!"
Ratcatcher stands himself up and prepares to attack Beast Boy, who was now a rhinoceros attempting to run him over. But the Ratcatcher managed to perform a front flip over the incoming threat.
The gas masked villain quickly fired some gas out of his staff, but Beast Boy avoided it by quickly turning into a hawk, swooping above him and pecking his mask.
The Ratcatcher punched the green hawk just as Robin got on his shoulder attempting to get the staff.
The Ratcatcher quickly threw the monkey off of him, threw him on the ground and aimed his staff at him.
"Robin! Puberty sure did change you." Ratcatcher commented, amused by Robin's predicament.
"The years haven't changed you at all. Still having very backward motivations." Robin commented on the masked madman.
The Ratcatcher tried to hit Robin with his staff, but Robin quickly jumped up to avoid the staff.
Robin climbed up the staff and started to punch the Ratcatcher in the face.
The Ratcatcher threw Robin off, but then he got his mask taken off his face by a yellow blur. The brunette man glared at the speedster and tried to hit the speedster with his staff, but Kid Flash avoided every one.
Meanwhile, the remaining Titans were getting rid of the rats that were attacking the city.
Cyborg was using his soundwave gun to make the rats back away from him, while Starfire was had lit a Starbolt on her hand to hypnotise the rats, while Jinx was putting her current animalistic skills to good use by scaring them.
"Glad you're putting those cat skills to good use." Raven commented to her teammate.
Raven turned to the Ratcatcher and shouted her signature spell to make the recently unmasked gas masked villain to make him levitate.
"Put me down!!!!!!" The Ratcatcher shouted at the top of his lungs.
"As you wish."
Raven dropped the Ratcatcher and then he got punched by Kid Flash in midair. The Ratcatcher pulled himself up and tried to reach for his staff, but Beast Boy quickly picked it up and smashed it on the ground.
The Ratcatcher groaned in annoyance as Beast Boy grinned at his victory.
Once the staff was broken, the once hypnotised rats all ran away into the sewer grates, free from the Ratcatcher's control.
"Well, I didn't expect this to be easy." Cyborg commented.
The Ratcatcher tried to stand up but Beast Boy stood on his hand, stopping him. The Ratcatcher groaned and asked the green Titan, "What are you going to do?"
Beast Boy grinned and turned to his leader, who was trying to eat a flea.
"Yo Robin." Robin threw the flea away and faced Beast Boy. "What's say you and me give the Rat King a mega monkey punch?" Robin replied with a smirk and nodded his head.
Beast Boy turned into a monkey and approached the Ratcatcher. "It's not Rat King, it's-" Before Ratcatcher could correct them, Robin and Beast Boy punched him in the face at the same time, causing him to be knocked out.
Beast Boy turned back to normal and joked, "Enough monkey business." The dumb pun caused all the Titans to groan in annoyance.
Later.
The Ratcatcher is seen being escorted into a prison van, not even struggling to escape. While the Titans were watching from afar.
"So, can I ask why you decided to join the fight as animals?" Kid Flash asked Robin, Raven and Jinx.
"Mumbo." Raven replied in her usual monotone voice.
Kid Flash tried to surpass his laugh, but he couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out laughing.
"It's not funny!" Jinx shouted.
"It kind of is." Kid Flash said.
"I don't see the funny in this, I see the cuteness." Starfire said while gently cuddling Robin.
"And I assume we have to use the wand to reverse the spell?" Cyborg asked.
"No, we have to use a water pistol. Of course we need to use the wand!" Jinx shouted.
Without warning, Kid Flash picked up Jinx and started stroking her. "I don't know, I kind of like you all this way." Jinx being stroked by Kid Flash just made her purr instead of screaming her head off.
"Do you guys even know how to use the wand?" Asked Beast Boy.
"We had some tests." Cyborg replied nervously.
"Can we keep them this way?" Kid Flash jokingly asked.
"Just get the wand!!!!!" Jinx shouted, causing Kid Flash to drop her.
"Ok. Ok." Kid Flash said while raising his hands in a defence position. The speedster then ran away from the group and returned with the wand in 5 seconds. "Why not Mumbo?"
"You really want us to trust a magician who turned me into a rabbit?" Raven replied coldly.
Kid Flash tapped the wand and shouted the magic spell. The animal Titans burst into a cloud of smoke. Once the smoke cleared, the animal Titans were back to normal.
It didn't take long for Robin to notice he was still being carried by Starfire, which he just smiled at cheekily.
Starfire smiled at her boyfriend and kissed him on the cheek before placing him on the ground.
"Glad you managed to figure out how to use the wand." Robin commented. "Did it take long to figure out?"
Cyborg, Starfire and Kid Flash awkwardly stared at each other before Kid Flash said "You're gonna need a new motorcycle."
