Shizukana's P.O.V
A week past and the Chunin exam was in 8 days. I have been training a lot. But I couldn't help but feel that something was missing. I tried moving to a different training spot and even tried meditating but couldn't shake off the feeling.
So here I am, wandering the streets of Konoha. I tried to do some Taijutsu training but wasn't feeling up to it. I watched as people rushed past me and into the market. There was some sale that everyone had been gushing about for the past week.
I sighed and continued my journey. One might wonder where my destination was. Trust me, I don't know.
I paused when I stood in front of the Hokage's building. Something was urging me to go inside. Like this was the thing I needed to do. That missing piece was inside. I shrugged my shoulders and walked in. As soon as I stepped in, an idea popped into my head. I could check out a new jutsu.
Sometimes I would slow down time and visit the restricted section of the library but sometimes I would crack things up a notch and go through the Hokage's library. Just for fun or when I need something. Some of my Justus are from sealed scrolls. And how do you think I know some S-Rank secrets?
I closed my eyes and concentrated on slowing down time. I opened them and looked around. The receptionist was standing up from her chair and the guard was yawning, but they were doing these things slowly. I smirked before walking to the Library.
I stood in front of the two wooded doors. The two guards were standing still. I used the key which was hanging on one the guard's waist and opened the door. I stepped in and looked around. The room was filled with shelves and file cabinets.
I smiled madly at all the knowledge in front of me before getting to work. I read through scrolls and books. I took a mental screenshot of all the interesting details that I found. I have learnt a lot of Jutsus but have never tried an S-rank.
With that in mind, I browsed through the shelves until I stopped in front of the S-Rank section. I looked at the titles of the books and decided to choose a jutsu on Space-Time Ninjutsu. I looked at the index and found myself staring at one title. The Flying Thunder God Jutsu.
I turned to the page and read through the paragraph.
The Flying Thunder God Jutsu is a technique which allows the user to transport themselves to a given marked location instantaneously.
To activate this technique, the user places a special seal or "technique formula" (術式, jutsu-Shiki) to mark an intended destination. After this is done, they can enter a dimensional void at will that instantaneously transports them to the location of the seal.
The mark can be applied to almost any area through brief physical contact, including an opponent or some other surrounding feature. Because this technique can affect anything that is in contact with the user or somehow connected to their chakra, they can also use this technique to teleport other objects or people.
I read through the rest of the pages and smiled in victory. This looks like a challenging Justu. Can't wait to practice it. I closed the book and kept in its shelf. I then looked around to see if anything is out of place. I closed the doors and locked them.
I sighed before walking towards the receptionist. I then closed my eyes and deactivated the Time Manipulation.
Everything went back to normal. The receptionist walked way from her desk and the guard rubbed his eyes after yawning. I smirked before walking out the doors and back home.
Time skip...
I sighed in exhaustion as I sat down. For the past few days I had been practicing the Flying Thunder God Jutsu. And it isn't an easy task. It said that I have to form my own marker. I spent my time in the library coming up with the marker and I think my creation is fine. Its a viking rune from my previous life. It symbolizes death. I performed the sealing on it by adding my chakra and a few other things.
I made a few copies of it on paper and placed them around the training ground. I have been teleporting here and there but have never been able to reach the exact spot.
I drank water from my bottle before laying down on the grass. I was covered in dirt and grass from all the training. Looking at the sky instantaneously reminded me of Shika. Can't believe he even made it to third stage. I thought he might have forfeited in the preliminaries.
With a smile on my face, I looked at the clouds. I rubbed my eyes before sitting up and trying again and again.
I arrived at the base of a tree but still was a few feet away from my marker. I cursed before trying to reach another marker. I made it but stumbled to the floor when I lost balance. While rubbing my sore shoulder, I teleported to another marker. I beamed in delight when I managed to reach the marker without falling.
I kept on trying for hours until I felt dizzy from chakra exhaustion. I better stop. If I pass out then Sensei might kill me.
I looked around to find that it was already around midnight had set and the crickets were chirping from the bushes. Didn't even feel the time go by. I gathered my things and burnt the markers before leaving the training ground. Don't want anyone finding out.
I kicked some rocks as I wiped the sweat and dirt from my body and clothes. I didn't notice someone walking towards me until I crashed into them. I closed my eyes expecting to hit the ground but instead I felt arms wrap around me.
I opened them to find Kabuto Yakushi looking at me. He smiled when he let me go. "Ah Shizukana-chan. I didn't see you there. What are you doing so late into the night?" He asked me.
I knew he was not who he said he was but kept my cool anyways. "I just finished training. I didn't even know the sun had even set." I said giving out a fake smile. He was bruised and injured. Without reacting to that I simply asked him like a normal person would. "What happened to you?" I said pointing to his face which had a massive bruise.
"Ah well, I was training with a friend before the both of us lost track of time. It happens. Why don't I walk you home." He said waving his hands.
Whats he trying to do? I shook my head. "It alright. You don't have to go though all the trouble. I can get home by myself." I replied. His smile is too creepy.
He nodded. "Alright then, I 'll see you later." He said walking away. I watched him turn around the corner.
I walked ahead and backed against a wall. I then made a shadow clone and sent the clone to walk the opposite direction of my apartment. I then Shunshined to a a rooftop. Don't want the creep to follow me home.
I was about to jump off the roof but yelped in surprise when someone cleared their throat from behind me. I turned around with a kunai in my hand to find Jiraiya the Toad Sage staring at me.
I pocketed my kunai and calmed down. "Jiraiya-san. You startled me." I said making the man chuckle.
"Sorry kid. What are you doing out in the middle of the night?" He asked me making me scratch my neck in embarrassment.
"Sorry. I was training and lost track of time." I said and he looked at me. He noticed the state of my clothes before waving it off.
"Well, you better get home. It's not safe for to be out here especially since a konoha ninja was found killed in the area." He said making me widen my eyes and then narrow them.
Why would Kabuto be training this late into the night if he isn't participating in the chunin exams? "When did that happen?" I asked making Jiraiya scratch his cheek.
"About two hours ago." Jiraiya said. "Enough of that. Security has tightened and you better get home." As soon as he said that, I gasped when my clone's memories came to me.
I was walking down the road when there was a thud from the alleyway. I went to investigate it when a kunai came whizzing to my face.
I dodged it and looked at my attacker to find Kabuto Yakushi. He was smiling at me with a mad glint in his eyes.
"Kabuto-san." I said pretending to be surprised. "What are you doing?" I said dodging another kunai.
"I am not a fool. I know you know about me. You can stop pretending." He said running at me. I sidestepped a punch from him and used his back as a platform to get away from him. He turned towards me and gathered chakra in his hand to form a sort of scalpel.
I dodged the attack. "I don't know what you're talking about." I said punching him in the face. He stumbled back and came at me again. But this time, I couldn't dodge the punch and it his me in the gut. The punch made the clone disappear in a puff.
I looked at Jiraiya to find him walking towards me with his arms forward. "Are you alright?" He asked me. I nodded.
"Sorry. All the training got to me. I better head home." I said waving him off. He looked at me for awhile before nodding.
"Shall I walk you home?" He asked me making me shake my head.
"No thank you. I live close by. I can make it on my own." I said jumping off the roof.
I shunshined into my room and set up protective seals around my apartment. I set traps by the windows and doors and kept a kunai with me. Great. I have a target on my back.
My mind wandered to the technique Kabuto used. He made a chakra scalpel. The ones medic ninjas use and turned it into an offensive attack. Lady Tsunade is first medical ninja to weaponize medical ninjutsu.
I held the kunai close to my chest as I kept my guard up. Won't be getting any sleep tonight.
A/N. Hey guys... Hope you enjoyed the chapter. I kinda wrote this at midnight when I had an explosion of ideas.
What do you think of The Flying Thunder God Jutsu? And Kabuto knows that Shizu knows about him. What do you think his reaction was when he figured out that it was a clone?
