INT. THE JET - 2.1

START SCENE

Reid: How's JJ

Prentiss opened her mouth, but Morgan beat her to it

Morgan: She's doing good

Reid: Good, that's good, How long is she gonna be out

Prentiss: A while. Three months at least for PT

Reid: It could be worse. I'm sure JJ will be glad to spend some extra time with Will and Henry

Prentiss: Yeah.

The mention of Will burned like salt in a wound

Hotch: Everybody, get some rest- I know you must be tired from the Ridgeway case. I know I am. We'll pick up when we arrive in Michigan. It's not a long flight, but it should be something.

Morgan rose from his seat on the plane and sat next to Prentiss

Morgan, whispering: We need to talk

Prentiss, whispering: No, we don't

Morgan, whispering: Emily

END SCENE - FLOW TO FLASHBACK (2.2)

FLASHBACK

EXT. HOSPITAL - 2.2

START SCENE

Emily shot up, and quickly wiped the tears from her face, hoping the relative darkness had prevented Morgan from seeing that.

Prentiss: Morgan? What are you doing here?

The rain began to pick up

Morgan, uncharacteristically stammering: I, uh, I wanted to check on JJ myself. Prentiss, you okay?

Prentiss: I'm fine

Hearing her say "I'm fine" AGAIN when she was so clearly not was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Morgan: Bullshit.

INT. ON THE JET - 2.3

START SCENE

Rossi: Morgan, Prentiss

Morgan and Prentiss, in unison: Yes?

Rossi: Shut up!

Emily smiled. Morgan was elated that she did. He hadn;t seen that in a while

INT. LANSING, MICHIGAN POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING - 2.4

START SCENE

Hotch: Chief Garner, hello

LMPD Chief Garner, reaching her hand out to shake Hotch's hand: Agent Hotchner, thanks for coming

Emily smiled. She liked when women were the police chief. Part of it was her inner feminist shining through, but she didn't have to worry about an egotistical male police officer questioning her when he wouldn't question Hotch or Rossi for saying the exact same thing.

It was common in law enforcement or really any testosterone dominated field. Even Hotch did it on occasion. She called him out on it once, that night at Hankel's all those years ago.

Morgan noticed her smile. Two in one day? Had he done that?

The thought made him smile too. Emily reached out to shake Garner's hand and threw her a sympathetic "yay we're both women" look.

Prentiss: SSA Prentiss, nice to meet you

Garner smiled.

Garner: Anyways, there's not much to go on- other than the note.

Hotch nodded and looked like he was about to say something before being interrupted by a younger officer running up

Garner: Hill, What is it?

Hill: Another family- they're-

The team didn't even wait before beginning to run out the door

INT./EXT. SUV - 2.5

START SCENE

Prentiss: Garcia, what can u tell us about this second family?

Garcia: Ok- it's bad-it's Richard Kemper's brother and his wife and twin daughters.

Morgan: Wait, it's the same family?

Garcia: Yeah, they just got back from a cruise- I don't think they even knew about Richard yet.

Reid: So this is a family annihilator who doesn't just want to get rid of the nuclear family-he's trying to wipe the whole family tree off the map.

Hotch: I've never seen anything like this- Rossi, have you?

Rossi: No.

Prentiss shifted uncomfortably

Hotch: You ok?

Prentiss: The Michigan field office really couldn't give us two SUVs?

Emily was squished in between Reid and Morgan in the middle back seat. Hotch chuckled

Hotch: Budget cuts.

Prentiss rolled her eyes

EXT. SECOND KEMPER FAMILY HOUSE - 2.6

START SCENE

Hotch approached the CSI unit leader. The team followed.

Hotch: Anything?

CSI UNIT LEADER, shaking his head: Just another note in the mailbox. Everything else was destroyed in the fire

Hotch sighed

Reid: Can I see it?

CSI UNIT LEADER: Sure

The CSI UNIT LEADER handed Reid the plastic bag with the note encased in it

Prentiss: Same message?

Reid, shaking his head: "I fixed Michigan. On to the next"

Morgan: What the hell does that mean?

Reid: I think it means he's leaving the state. "On to the next" might mean he has some sort of hit list.

Rossi: Some agenda this guy has.

Hotch nodded

Hotch: Garcia, is there a remaining member of the Kemper family that might have some sort of resentment to the brothers? Is there another set of cousins in another state? We need to know everything.

Garcia: Sir, these were totally typical normal families. I'll keep digging but,-

Hotch interrupted Garcia

Hotch: Do it quickly. This guy doesn't have a cooling off time at all. He's on a mission.
