~Elena~
We are here. We are here. We are here. I awoke with a gasping cry, every muscle screaming with protest as I took in unfamiliar surroundings. Stone walls draped in silk dotted with wide windows. Carpets of many colors lining the floors. A large wardrobe standing silently next to a vanity. Where am I? A fierce pounding took up residence in my skull as I forced my body from a plush bed, the floor cool to bare feet. Meereen. The mercenary. His battered face flashed before my eyes, the feeling of power brought on by bloodlust swelling in my veins. By the Gods. What am I becoming? I blinked away tears, walking over to open the wardrobe and finding a line of flowing dresses. A frown pulled at chapped lips as I looked down at myself. Though my current attire was blooded and torn, the pants had allowed for better movement, the shirt working to hide what made men weak.
"I will request different clothing later." I reassured myself as I selected a dress of pale blue, not a color I was particularly fond of, but the style was simple and flowed freely, working to hide my figure.
"Elena? Are you decent?" Varys did not wait for an answer, already opening my door before I could protest. He eyed me wearily, slowly approaching me with hand raised.
"The sun is shining." I spoke with a low growl, signaling that I was no longer the monster from yesterday.
"He is alive, incase you were wondering. Bruised face and battered ego, but alive." I nodded, working on a simple braid as he came closer.
"What do you want Varys? I doubt you came to deliver the news of the sellsword." I regarded him cooly, searching his face for lies, as he folded his arms and sighed.
"The queen wishes to see you. I assume she wants you to bend the knee." A laugh escaped before I could stop it. The thought of someone demanding my fealty enraging a barely contained beast.
"I will bend the knee to no one. Ever."
"Do not be foolish Elena. Here you can be protected. Lavished with riches and a befitting title. All you have to do is bend the knee and say a few words." Face hardened as I whipped around to glare at him.
"Unlike you, I will not sell my soul for a few measly coins and false promises of safety. This place, your dream, it's all an illusion. Pretty in every way, but it's all a lie. You would do well to remember that, before you lose more than your manhood." I walked away then, lips clamped and hands fisted.
"Please Elena." Varys called as I reached the doorway. "Consider the consequences of your actions."
"You would do well to follow your own advice Lord Silver Tongue."
