A/N: Warning: There is a little graphic nature at the end of the chapter.

Romeo walked back in the room wearing black jeans, black leather boots, a black sweater and he had his hair pulled back in a ponytail.

Murphy and Connor followed him and they were wearing black sweaters, black jeans, black leather belts and black leather boots and all three were wearing black holsters.

Louisa and Margaret watched them head for the bookcase as Connor pushed the book in and the bookcase slid open. They walked to the guns as Murphy and Connor picked the Beretta M9s and they placed the guns in the holsters after checked to see if the guns were loaded. Romeo also picked the Beretta M9s as he placed the guns in the holsters then they turned to look at Margaret and Louisa.

Murphy walked to Louisa when he leaned in to kiss her lips and she placed her forehead against his.

Margaret walked to Connor when she took his hands and her eyes locked with his.

"If you really wish to do this, then there is something I need to give you," Margaret said, letting go to his hands and she walked to one of the large silver suitcases. She placed the large silver suitcase on the table as they walked to the table and she opened the lid. She turned the large silver suitcase around as they looked at what was inside and Connor gave her a big grin.

The car moved down the street while Duffy strummed his fingers on the steering wheel and Dolly looked out the window.

"I can't believe we lost her," Dolly said.

"Shut up," Duffy said. He glanced at the rearview mirror as he looked at Baker sitting in the backseat and Baker was looking straight ahead. "You ok?"

"Yeah, I was just thinking," Baker said.

"About what?" Dolly asked.

"About what you told what's-her-name. Who was this person who would still be alive if it wasn't for the Saints?"

Dolly and Duffy looked at each other when Dolly sighed and he turned enough in the seat to look at him.

"We're talking about our former partner," Dolly said.

"You mean that Greenly guy?"

"His name was David and, yeah, the Saints had something to do with his death."

"Are you saying they killed a cop?"

"No, but he was killed by someone who was after them."

"Where did he die?"

"McGinty's."

Dolly nearly slammed into the dashboard when Duffy suddenly hit the breaks and he glared at him.

"Fuck, why did you do that for?!" Dolly said.

"I think I figured out where the Saints are," Duffy said.

"McGinty's"

"McGinty's is closed."

"I know, but I wouldn't put it pass them to do a little breaking and entry."

Duffy steered the car down the road while Dolly looked at Baker and Baker shrugged.

The sunlight shimmered off their sunglasses while Connor, Murphy and Romeo walked down the sidewalk and Murphy had his hands in the pockets of the black Navy peacoat. The small tote bag thumped against Connor's right hip as he lightly pulled on the black Navy peacoat and Romeo had his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket.

They walked down the sidewalk when they stopped at the front door to McGinty's and Connor looked at the lock. He knelt down on his haunches when he noticed someone had already picked the lock and he carefully stood up.

"We have a problem," Connor said as he tapped the small ear piece sitting in his left ear.

"What sort of problem?" Margaret's voice asked.

"Someone picked th'lock."

"Yes, you did the other night."

"No, this looks fresh."

"Hold on."

"What's wrong?" Romeo asked.

"Someone's inside," Connor said.

"Shit," Murphy said.

"Connor, you need to come back," Margaret's voice said.

"We need t'go back," Connor said. They turned to walk the other way when the door opened a crack and they turned to looked at the door. "You gotta be kiddin' me."

"What happened?"

"Th'door jus' opened."

"And there's a gun pointed at us," Romeo said as he looked at the barrel of the gun sticking out from behind the door.

"Shit," Margaret's voice said.

"Guess we have t'go inside," Murphy said.

"Be careful," Louisa's voice said.

Murphy's heart jumped in his chest as he sighed and he shook his head. His mind replayed their conversation before they left and he saw the light blazing in her eyes.

"Fer th'last time, you are not goin' with us!"

"Yes, I am!"

"I said no!"

"Murphy, calm down. She'll be staying with me. I promise she'll be safe."

"We will," Murphy whispered.

"I love you."

"I know."

Connor removed the black leather gloves from the pockets of the black Navy peacoat as he placed the black leather on and he carefully opened the door. Standing in the doorway, Connor looked into the darkness and the light from the doorway caused long shadows on the floor. Connor opened the small tote bag when he removed the gasmasks and the flashlight and he handed the gasmasks to Murphy and Romeo. Romeo and Murphy placed on their black leather gloves then they placed the gasmasks on and Connor handed Romeo the flashlight after he had placed on the gasmask. The soft hissing sound filled the air while Romeo turned on the flashlight and they entered the room. The light moved across the floor as they looked around and Connor pointed to the door to the back of the bar. They walked to the door to the delivery room when Connor knelt down on his haunches and Romeo shined the light on the lock.

"Shit," Connor said with a hiss.

"What's wrong now?" Margaret's voice asked.

"It looks someone's picked th'lock."

"Get out of there."

"Don't have to tell me twice," Romeo said.

"Uh, Miss Stone, we have a situation," a male voice said.

"Maggie, what's going on?" Connor asked. He internally winced for calling her that and he heard her make a deep sigh.

"Hang on," Margaret's voice said Murphy felt the worry coming from his twin as he looked at Connor and they locked eyes.

The black vans sat down the street from McGinty's and, inside the van, Margaret looked at the monitor. She was wearing black body armor and black leather boots and her hair draped over her shoulders. Louisa, wearing black body armor and her black ankle boots, was sitting near the back doors as she felt a knot building in her stomach and she rubbed her fingers over Murphy's rosary, which was wrapped around her right hand.

"No, you need this."

"No, you do."

"Report," Margaret said as she looked at the men sitting at the command center.

"We have company," the man said and he pointed to the screen. She looked at the grainy image of Duffy, Dolly and Baker walking down the sidewalk and they were heading for McGinty's.

"Shit."

"What's going on?" Louisa asked.

"It looks like Detectives Dolly, Duffy and Baker have figured out where the Saints are," Margaret said, looking at her. She walked to the back doors of the van as she opened the doors and she hopped out of the van.

Dolly looked around as they walked down the sidewalk when he noticed they were alone and he frowned.

"Uh, Duffy, where is everyone?" he asked.

"How the hell would I know?" Duffy replied.

"He's right. There's no one around," Baker said. Duffy had noticed there wasn't anyone around as he frowned when they stopped at the door to McGinty's and he saw the door was open. He removed the gun from the holster under his suit jacket as he pointed to the door and they nodded. Duffy walked into the doorway as he looked inside and he could just see Murphy standing in the middle of the room.

"Freeze!" Duffy shouted as he walked into the room and he pointed the gun at him.

"Aw shit," Murphy said.

"You're under arrest!"

Connor and Romeo walked to Murphy while Dolly and Baker entered the room and they had their guns drawn.

"Are they wearing gasmasks?" Dolly whispered.

"Well, it does stink in here," Baker said.

"Take the masks off!" Duffy demanded.

"Uh, do we have your word you won't shoot us if we move?" Romeo asked.

"Just take them off!"

"No!" Margaret said while she walked in the room and she had a gun pointed at Dolly, Duffy and Baker. They turned to face her as several people in black body armor and black boots moved around her to enter the room and they had their weapons pointed at Baker, Dolly and Duffy.

"So, you did know where they were," Duffy said.

"Yes, I did."

"I should arrest you as well."

Murphy felt the anger coming from Connor as he barely shook his head and Connor barely nodded his head.

"And I should have you taken in for obstruction our investigation."

"Oh, come on! You really think Smecker is behind all this?!"

"Yes, I do."

Connor was enjoying watching Margaret in her ice queen mode.

"Damn, she is so beautiful," he thought while Romeo shined the light along the floor when Romeo noticed something and he walked off. He headed for the bar while he looked the footprints in the dust on the floor and he frowned.

"Hunh," Romeo whispered.

"What's wrong?" Louisa's voice said in his right ear.

"Just looking at the footprints on the floor."

"What about them?"

"They don't look like yours, mine, Connor's or Murphy's."

"Could they belong to those police officers who nearly caught us?"

"They might."

"What is he doing?" someone asked and Margaret looked at Romeo.

"What are you looking at?" Margaret asked and Romeo looked at her.

"I was just looking at the footprints on the floor," Romeo said. Margaret walked to him as she looked down at the footprints then she looked at him.

"What about them?" Murphy asked and he and Connor walked over to Romeo and Margaret.

"Hey, you're contaminating a crime scene!" Duffy shouted. Connor and Murphy flipped him their middle fingers as some of the people in the battle armor softly snickered and Duffy glared at them.

Romeo moved the light along the floor as they looked at the footprints and he noticed the footprints headed for the back of the bar. He started walking as they followed him and Duffy slammed his fists against his thighs.

"I don't believe this," Duffy sighed and he, Dolly and Baker followed them.

"Murphy, what's going on?" Louisa's voice asked in Murphy's right ear.

"We're followin' th'footprints Romeo found," Murphy said and he heard her sigh. "What's wrong?"

"I'm bored."

"Well, you know why you have t'stay in th'van."

"Yeah, but there's nothing in there that's gonna hurt me."

"What about these eejits who think we're th'bad guys?"

He loved the sound of her laughing in his ear as Murphy rolled his eyes and he shook his head.

"Who are you talking to?" Dolly said as he walked near Murphy then he became silent from the cold look in Murphy's eyes.

"Should we check the upstairs?" Baker asked while he looked at the stairs.

"There's nothing up there," Connor said.

"How do you know?"

"I know shit."

Baker went to join the others at the door to the delivery room, but none of them noticed the door to the upstairs storage room slowly closing.

They stopped at the door to the delivery room while Romeo shined the light on the lock and Connor knelt down on his haunches. He looked at the lock when he stood and Connor scratched the back of his head.

"Someone picked this lock," Connor said, standing up.

"Why? There shouldn't be anythin' in there," Murphy said.

"Let's find out."

Connor opened the door as Romeo shined the light in the room and he nearly dropped the flashlight after he saw what was in the room.

"Christ," Connor whispered.

"Lord's name." Murphy said then he looked at what he was looking at. "Shit."

"Murphy, what's wrong?" Louisa's voice asked.

"I'll tell you later."

At the center of the room was a chair.

Sitting in the chair, tied by ropes and duct tape, was Smecker.

Dried blood and vomit stained his shirt and pants and several, bloody teeth sat on the floor near the chair.

His head was down and his arms were pulled back behind the chair.

"We need a medical team to this location now!" Margaret ordered.

The people who followed them in the room left as she carefully walked to the chair and a sour smell filled her nose.

"Romeo, give me the flashlight," she said as she held out her right hand and Romeo handed her the flashlight. She shined the light on Smecker as she carefully lifted his head and Murphy and Connor crossed themselves.

Smecker's nose was shattered and dried blood caked the large laceration on the bridge of his nose. His lip was split in several places and his mouth was open. Bruises covered nearly his whole face and his right eye was swollen shut. Dried blood and snot caked his face and neck and his hair was stick out around his head.

"Is he alive?" Connor asked. Margaret checked Smecker for a pulse when Smecker moaned and he barely opened his left eye.

"Take it easy. You're going to be alright," Margaret said in a soft voice and Smecker barely lifted his left eyebrow.

"Shit," Duffy said as he, Dolly and Baker walked closer and Duffy looked at Connor and Murphy. "What the hell did you do to him?!"

"You think we did this?!" Murphy asked while two medics in battle armor and black boots entered the room and they had a gurney with them. Margaret and Connor got out of the way as the medics knelt down next to the chair and one of the medics examined Smecker. The other medic was trying to untie the rope and remove the duct tape when Connor reached into the small tote bag and he removed a large knife.

"Here," Connor said, handing the medic the knife.

"Thanks," the medic said and he started cutting the rope and the duct tape.

"Murphy," Louisa whispered in Murphy's ear and he walked over to one side of the room.

"What?" he asked, watching the medics slide Smecker off the chair and they placed Smecker on the backboard they had placed on the floor.

"What's going on?"

"We found Smecker."

"Where?"

"He was in th'delivery room. Someone's beat the shit out of him."

"Fuck. Is he alive?"

"Only by th'grace of God."

"How did he get in there?"

"I dunno," Murphy said when he realized he was near the delivery room side door and he looked at the door. He looked at Connor when Connor locked eyes with his twin and Connor walked to him. Murphy pointed to the door as Connor looked at the door then he looked at Margaret. He signaled for her to come over as she walked to the twins and she stood next to them. "I think I found out how he got in here."

Margaret shined the light on the lock while Connor knelt down on his haunches and he looked at the lock.

"Aye, someone picked the lock," Connor said when he stood then he placed his hand on the door handle and he opened the door. They were temporarily blinded by the light as she turned the flashlight off and Connor and Murphy removed the gasmasks. Romeo removed his gasmask when he walked to them and Connor walked into the alleyway. He looked around when he sighed and he crossed his arms over his chest. The wind blew through his hair as he glanced around with his eyes, but the only things he saw were the garbage bins and some litter on the ground.

"Find anything? Margaret asked while she walked outside and she stood next to him. She noticed the anger on his face and the tense muscles in his neck and she wanted to place an assuring hand on his upper arm.

"No," Connor said with a shake of his head.

"I need this alley searched," Margaret ordered as she went back inside and Connor watched the people walking out into the alleyway. They spread out as they started searching and he had seen the frightened look on some of their faces. He went back inside while he walked to Margaret and they watched the medics examining Smecker.

"Miss Stone, he trying to say something," the medic said and Margaret knelt on the floor. Smecker could barely see her as she gave him a sad smile and he made a soft wheezing sound.

"The medic said you want to tell me something. What is?" she asked and he coughed.

"S-s-saints," Smecker said, softly.

"What did you say?"

"Saints."

"He wants you," she said, turning to look at Connor and Murphy and they walked to her. They knelt down next to her and they both felt a ball of ice building in their chests.

"We're here," Connor said.

"Aye, we're here," Murphy said, feeling the tears in the corners of his eyes. He wasn't sure why he wanted to cry and he blinked the tears away.

"F-finally," Smecker said as he tried to smile.

"Don't talk," Connor said.

"Have t-to. Don't have m-much time."

"Aye, you do," Murphy said and Smecker tried to give him a smirk, but failed.

"B-bullshit."

"Why do you wanna talk t'us?" Connor asked.

"I wa-want you to do s-something for me."

"What do you want us to do?" Murphy asked.

"Kill me," Smecker said and they gave him a stunned look.

"You want us t'kill you?" Connor asked.

"It's wh-what you do."

"No, we kill rapists, drug dealers, pedophiles an' shit like that."

"He's right," Murphy said.

"I've d-done some bad shit," Smecker said then he coughed. "If it wa-wasn't for me, you two would…"

"We would be dead," Connor reminded him and Smecker moaned.

"P-pl-please," Smecker begged as he coughed and some blood dribbled out of his mouth.

"Christ."

"Lord's name," Murphy whispered and Connor lightly shoved him.

"Guys, I think this is one of those moral situations," Louisa's voice said and the twins sighed.

"She's right," Margaret said. "It's like a soldier who is badly injured in battle and he and his friends are behind enemy lines. He knows he's fucked, but he doesn't want the enemy to take him alive just in case he survives. So, he asks his friends to kill him."

"But this isn't a battlefield," Connor said.

"I know," Margaret said.

The twins closed their eyes as they made a silent prayer for guidance and Smecker closed his eyes as well. They opened their eyes as Murphy and Connor stood and they removed their guns from the holsters under the black Navy peacoats.

Margaret admitted she felt uneasy with how calm they looked when they are about to kill someone and she moved away from them.

"Put him on his knees," Connor said and the medics frowned.

"D-do it," Smecker said. The medics shrugged as they helped Smecker to his knees. He swayed slightly side-to-side while the twins pointed the guns at the back of his head and Murphy pressed his lips onto a thin line.

"Take off your earphones," Murphy whispered.

"Ok," Louisa's voice said and he heard the tremble to her voice.

"Hey…."

"Sorry."

"No, it's fine. I wanna cry, too."

"So, do I," Connor confessed.

"I already am," Romeo said with a shrug.

Murphy heard Louisa sniffing as his mind showed him her crying and his chest hurt.

"Go fer a walk," Murphy whispered.

"What?" Louisa asked.

"Leave th'van, go fer a walk in th'opposite direction an' find a spot where you can have yourself a good cry."

"I might still hear the gunfire."

"Think of it as a car backfirin'. Now go."

"Ok. I love you."

"I know."

He heard the soft sound of the earphones dropping onto something then the squeak of the van door opening and closing and he sighed.

"We'll keep an eye on her," a voice said in his right ear.

"You better," Murphy said with a growl.

"Murphy," Connor said and Murphy nodded his head. The twins stood straighter as Smecker closed his eyes and he felt their guns pressing against the back of his head.

"And Shepherds we shall be. For Thee, My Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti," the twins said at the same time, but before they could pull the trigger, Baker pointed his gun at the Saints and Smecker and fired.

A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger. But do you really think I'd killed them?!
