A/N: So, this is a just a tiny little fic I've been actively writing since last Thanksgiving. It's not much, but I liked the idea of Jacen bringing one of those cute little "what I'm thankful for" letters home from school. Happy "Turkey Day" to everyone who celebrates! May your day be full of good food, great company, and reflection on all the many blessings God has given us.

Almost every day, Jacen comes home and hangs another piece of flimsi on the conserver. Today, he has something extra important. A whole stack of flimsi! He's so excited he doesn't even bother taking off his backpack or shoes. He runs straight to the galley to find mom and show her.

"Today Miss Hatti showed us how to make loth birds out of our hands!" Jacen exclaims.

"Oh wow!" His mom bends down to get a better look. "Now, can you please take off your shoes and put your bag away, and then we can talk?"

"Okay, mom." Jacen sets the flimsi on the counter and runs back to the front door.

"What's this?" Mom calls after him, holding up one of the other pieces of flimsi.

"Miss Hatti told us what to write what we're thankful for. She says writing it down helps us remember."

He returns to find his mom reading it.

Jacen sneaks up behind his mom's shoulder, so he can see the letter, too.

"I am thankfull for food and water and a house to live in.
I am thankful for the Ghost and the Phantom. I like flying the Ghost with mommy.
I am thankful the war is over, so I can spend more time with mom.
I am thankful for Lothal and Lira san and Ryloth and Mandalore and Krownest, because they are the dest planets in the galaxy.
I am thankful for animals, especaly lothcats and lothwolves anb puffer pigs and pergell.
I am thankful for my freinds Poe and Cinbel and Snap and for baby Ben because Leia said we can be friends wen he grows up.
I am thankful for my teachers and my scool and all the fun we have.
I am thankful for Loth-bird day and for all the yummy food we eat.
I am thankfullest for my family. My mom who loves me anb takes care of me and my daddy even thou he's one with the Force now anb my big sister Sabine and my big bother Ezra and my Uncle Zeb and Uncle Kallus and Rex and Ahsoka and Grandpa Cham and Chopper even thou he is a droid he is still family."

By the time they're done reading, Jacen notices mom is crying softly.

"Are you okay mom?"

"Yeah I'm just...so happy we have so much to be thankful for this year."

"Like the war being over and Ezra coming home?"

"Yes."

"Why are you crying if you're happy?"

"Sometimes people cry for happy reasons, or no reason at all."

"Like when you cried when Ezra came home?"

"Yes, just like that."

"Okay."

Jacen looks at the conserver, and notices there's not enough room to fit all the pages. "Can we hang the picture on the wall?"

His mom almost looks like she's going to say no. But then she smiles.

"I know just where we can put it!" His mom disappears into a closet and reemerges with a picture frame. "How about we put the picture in a frame, and then we can put the letter in your folder? That way they'll both be safe."

"Okay mom! Can I still show the letter to Sabine and Ezra and Zeb when they come over?"

"Of course!" His mom smiles, and helps him take the back off the picture frame and put the loth-bird in. They hang the picture in the common room.

"When's Sabine coming over? I can't wait to show her!"

"Not til tomorrow, love, remember? She's baking all the sweets for tomorrow. We need to start working on the loth-bird."

"Yum! Can I help rub the salt on it?"

"i think you're just big enough this year." Mom boops him on the nose.

Jacen gives her a fake angry look before grinning. "Thanks mommy!"

A moment later, his mom says thank you back to him.

"I love you, Jacen."

"I love you too, mom." He rolls up his sleeves. "Now, let's get to work!"
