So I wrote this for KamiJirou Week. This story takes place 5 years after the current events in the anime. All of 1A (minus Mineta plus Shinsou) are pro heroes and have started an agency together called Plus Ultra. Also, at first they call each other by their hero names because they're on duty. Enjoy the fic! And I'm sorry. XD

Day 1

Kaminari

"That building's gonna go down at any second! We need to get everyone out of there!" one if the officers called through the ear pieces every hero in the area was connected to. I wiped my brow and looked over at my partner.

"What do you say, Earphone Jack? Is that everyone?"

Jirou Kyouka removed her ear jacks from the wall and floor. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone's been evacuated. I can't hear any other civilians."

"Let's get out of here then," I said, talking to both my partner and the other heroes.

The building grumbled and shook dangerously as we all quickly made our way out through the closest exit. There was no way we were going to be able to stop the apartment complex from completely collapsing. But we had arrived on the scene quickly enough and with enough heroes to save everyone living in it.

"Looks like another W for the Plus Ultra agency," Hanta Sero grinned as we all gathered in front of the building.

"Heck yeah it was! It's a good thing so many of us were close by!" Grinning, I raised my hand for a high five. And that's when I heard it:

A faint cry for help.

My head snapped back to the building. "Did you guys hear that?"

"I didn't hear anything. Except maybe the building grumbling," Jirou answered, and Sero agreed.

It didn't make sense. But… there!

"Someone's still inside!" I started to run back into the building, but a hand stopped me.

"Chargebolt, there's no one else in there. I checked, remember?" Jirou pointed out, waving her ear jacks at me. "I didn't hear anyone."

"You must've misheard."

"Dude, even if she did, that place is about to go down. There's no way you're going to get in there, find the person, and get out in time," Kirishima pointed out.

"I have to try!"

I snatched my hand out of Jirou's and took off in a run. I could hear her growl of frustration and annoyance.

"Chargebolt, don't go in there!" I ignored her and entered the building. When I realized she wasn't following, I paused just inside the building and glanced back. The purple hair heroine was being held back by Kirishima and Sero.

"You dumbass, you're gonna get yourself killed," came Bakugou's voice through the earpiece. I only grinned as he stood behind the others and sent a few zaps of lightning in the air.

"I'll be fine, blasty."

"Please help me!" I heard a panicked voice out from the center of the room.

Jirou must have heard the voice as well, because her eyes widened. But I could tell her attention was on…. Me?

Whatever.

"Chargebolt, don't follow that voice!" I ignored her and turned to do just that.

"Dunce Face!"

"Kamibro!"

"Chargebolt!"

Why were all of my friends trying to stop me from saving this civilian?! No matter, I'm getting close to them.

"Kaminari, it's a trap! Don't go…!"

The rest of Jirou's call was cut off as the ground under me opened up. I yelped as I fell into a basement area, and I rolled on the floor. I looked up in time to see the building collapsed around me. And then.

Nothing.

Jirou

"That fucking idiot! I told him not to go in there!" I raged as the dust began to clear. "Let's get the rescue squad ready to get Charge…."

My voice trailed off and all of the color drained from my face as we were finally able to see the ruins. The entire apartment complex seemed to have been sucked into one spot.

The spot he had fallen into.

"Kaminari…." I whispered softly, my feet moving on their own towards the piles and piles of rubble. The only thing that stopped me was a hand, Mina's, holding me back.

"Jirou, no. You can't step on any of that, sweetie."

"But what if he's alive under all of that?!"

"That's even more reason for us to be careful. We don't want to cause it to collapse even more on him," she said gently.

"Mina, please. I need to hear him." I looked at the other heroine in the eye pleadingly.

'He can't die. Not Kaminari. Please.'

She sighed. "Alright. But we need to make a plan."

Kaminari

I coughed heavily as I crawled from under a piece of ceiling. Luckily, some of the building had fallen at odd angles. This left pockets of space throughout the room, one of which had saved my life.

I reached a relatively open spot and attempted to stand up. Only to hiss out a breath as pain shot through my torso. Ok, so maybe I didn't get out of that fall scotch free. Hopefully there's no internal bleeding….

I carefully crawled to a sturdy looking wall and leaned back against it. Alright. Let's determine the damage shall we?

I'm clearly trapped underground. Most of the destruction seemed to be focused where I had fallen. That left me with the aforementioned pockets of space.

My stomach was killing me. I carefully removed the top of my hero suit to examine the spot. No discoloring. Good.

I touched the device in my ear. "Chargebolt to Cellophane, do you read me?" Nothing but radio static answered me. "Ground Zero?" Nothing. "Alien Queen?" Static.

I sighed in frustration and threw the stupid thing of. It was no good. Apparently no signal could come through this low underground. In a final, desperate attempt for something, anything, I called out:

"Jirou!"

"…ari? Kam…i? Hey idiot! C… me?"

My head snapped to my jacket. That's right! Jirou and I had special, old school inspired walkie talkies made in case something like this happened! Mine worked with a zap of electricity, and hers worked as long as one of her ear jacks was in it. This way, we wouldn't have to depend on batteries or a signal. I scrambled to it out and have it a zap.

"I never thought I would be happy to hear you call me an idiot."

Jirou

I slumped against the door of one of the cop cars, a wave of relief flooding me. 'He's alive. He's ok….'

"Well, I hope you enjoy me calling you one. Because that's all you're gonna hear! I told you not to go back in there! And now you're trapped under ten floors worth of rubble! Can you be any more of an idiot?!"

"Hehe, yeah. But hey. I'm still alive."

I covered my face with my free hand, willing the moisture in my eyes to go away. "Yeah. Yeah, you are. You're a lucky idiot."

The blonde had the gall to laugh at that, and I couldn't help but smile softly. Only his dumbass can act like we were having a normal conversation as if he weren't facing certain death.

"So what's going on up there? Everything's pretty quiet. Don't tell me only you stuck around," he said, only half jokingly.

"While you were knocked out for a while, the others came up with a plan for digging you out of there. We have to be careful because we don't know what could be dislodged from us moving another piece. Plus, we're waiting on Ochako."

"Yeah, her gravity quirk will be very good right now." I hummed. "Hey, Jirou?"

"Yeah?"

"Don't leave me alone, ok? Don't go."

My heart clenched, and I had to clear my throat.

"You're not getting rid of me. Ever."

Day 2

Kaminari

I tried standing up again. It still hurt like crazy, but I was able to find and move to a spot that seemed to trickle in a tiny bit of oxygen into the room. Now I'm just waiting for….

"Kaminari?" I sighed in relief and picked up the device.

"Yeah, I'm here."

"I wanted to tell you that the rescue heroes are working on getting to you. Deku called in some extras from other agencies so that they can cycle through shifts. That way no one is overworked and there are still heroes out on patrol."

"What about you though?" I asked curiously. Jirou is technically a rescue hero, sure, but usually she only comes in to locate any survivors. They already know where I am, so she isn't really needed for that.

"I used my vacation days so that I can stay here with you," she said softly.

"Why would you do that? Weren't you saving up for a special trip next year?" I asked with surprise.

"Because you asked me to stay."

Day 3

Jirou

"How's he doing down there?" I looked up as Momo offered me a steaming cup of tea. I gratefully accept it.

"I finally convinced him to get some sleep. He stayed up all night talking my ears off about any and everything. Staying in one spot is doing a number on him," I said with an eye roll, raising the cup to take a sip.

"You know. There are a lot of heroes here. Sure, none of us can communicate with Kaminari, but we know he's still there and that he's ok," she started slowly. I tensed and lowered the cup again.

"Momo. No."

"Jirou, you should go home and get some rest. You can come back in the morning."

"I can't. I promised him I would stay here," I insisted. She rested a hand on my shoulder.

"I know you did. But you're going to wear yourself out if you keep staying up like this. Kaminari would understand if you went home for the night."

"I can't, Momo. I'd rather go crazy with lack of sleep than leave this spot." She sighed softly as I listened to the electric blonde whisper in his sleep.

Don't go.

Day 4

Kaminari

"…ot? …ari? Kaminari!" I was jolted out of my head by Jirou's yell. I grabbed the walkie talkie and gave it a little zap.

"Yeah, I'm here. Sorry about that, Jirou."

"Are you ok down there? I was trying to get your attention for, like, five minutes."

Has it really been that long? I had lost focus for a bit, but I could've sworn it was only a few seconds. A minute at most.

But five?

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just spacing out. You know how I get," I laughed it off. There's no reason to worry her even more than she already is…. "So, what's up? Any updates?"

"Right. So Deku and Bakugou caught the villain that caused all of this. They brought in Shinsou to interrogate him. Apparently, he has this grudge against the entire Bakusquad, and he had been aiming to take all of us out. He didn't think I would see through the trap so easily and had hoped we would run in after you."

"I'm glad you were smarter than me then. Otherwise we all would've ended up dying down here together."

"Don't say that! You're not going to die, Kaminari. I won't let you," she said stubbornly. I chuckled softly and slowly lowered the device.

"Alright, you're going to be my knight in purple armor and get me out of here."

"Damn straight."

"Hey Jirou. I'm gonna take another nap now. You should too. I know you've been up worrying about me," I said softly, my eyes drooping closed. "You can rest. Just…."

Please.

Don't go.

Day 5

Jirou

"Hey, Jirou?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you think it'll be ok if I call you Kyouka?"

Pause

Drip

"Jirou? Hey, I'm sorry if I…."

"No, no, it's ok. Call me Kyouka. But." Tap. Tap. "But only if I can call you Denki."

"Yeah. Awesome. That's cool."

Silence

Shift

"Kyouka?"

"Yeah Denki?"

"I have been in love with you since we were in 1A together."

Drip

DripDrip

DripDripDrip

"Yeah. Me too."

Day 6

Kyouka

Crash

"Sonovabitch!" I was jolted awake by the loud sounds coming from the walkie talkie. I quickly picked it up.

"Are you ok?" Nothing. I could hear nothing but pained panting coming from the other end. "Denki?! What happened?! Are. You. Ok?!"

"I… I'm ok. Heh, I really am an idiot. Who stubs their toe and falls into the only table in a collapsed room? While trying to be sneaky no less."

I breathed out a sigh of relief.

"I told you not to move around too much, dummy. You need to preserve your oxygen. We've almost reached you."

"Sounds good. I'll listen to you from now on." I snorted in disbelief as I slowly drifted off back to sleep. "Hey, Kyouka?"

"Yeah Denki?"

"When you get down here… can you sing for me? Like my own personal guardian angel?"

"Yes Denki. I'll sing for you."

"Thank you."

Day 7

Denki

I tried to keep my sounds of pain too low for even Kyouka to hear. But fuck this hurts. It hurts so bad.

Is this how I die?

Alone?

Trapped underground?

I refused to let the tears fall as I looked up at one of my only hopes throughout this whole thing. The tiny hole above my head. My vision began to blur, but I wasn't sure if it was from the unshed tears or if I was slipping away.

This is it.

Dammit.

I wanted to hear that song….

"…ki! Denki! Dammit, say something you idiot!"

I opened my eyes (when did I close them?) to see an angel. My angel.

"Kyouka. You… made it," I managed to get out, cracking a smile.

My head was shifted a little on her arm as she wiped at the tears flowing down her cheeks.

"You colossal idiot! When did…? Why didn't you tell me…?" she stammered out, eyes glued on the rusty pole protruding from my stomach.

"I couldn't bring myself to tell you. Because I knew you would've pushed the heroes and yourself passed your limits to get to me. And then someone else could've gotten hurt for nothing. You could've gotten hurt for nothing."

"N-no. Ochako was sent home early last night because we thought we didn't need her anymore. We could've… I could've…."

I didn't like seeing the tears streaming down her cheeks. I reached up slowly to gently brush them away.

"Kyouka, there was no way to get to me fast enough to save me. I was already slipping away just from the lack of oxygen. I only made it this long with stubbornness. And the thought that I would soon be in your arms again. Just like this."

This only made her sob even more and clutch my hand to her cheek.

"Denki, please. Don't go."

"Well, I can't yet. You promised me that song," I tried to joke.

I watched her through hazy eyes as she wiped away her tears and steeled herself. With the last of my strength, willpower, and stubbornness, I focused all of my being on her as she began to sing.

Hero too

You are a hero too

Your heart was set

And you never backed down

I could feel myself slipped away. My hand dropped to my side as I blinked for the last time.

Hero too

Strength doesn't make a hero

A hand – Kyouka's hand – my angel's hand – caressed my cheek even as tears dripped onto my forehead.

True heroes stand up for what they

Kyouka

believe

So I'll wait and see

….

"Damn idiot. Let me finish the song first."

I didn't want to add this to the actual story because I felt like it would take away from the moment. But I do want to clarify this.

Denki's injury on day seven comes from the crash on day six. One of the rescue heroes had unknowingly caused part of the rubble to fall around him, and the pole had gone straight through his stomach. That's why he asked for the song from Jirou. He knew he wasn't going to make it.

I hope you guys liked this fanfic. If you have any questions, feel free to comment and I'll answer!
