I know some people like Devil May Cry, it's a popular series and considered as one of the best Hack n' Slash game ever. DMC with something I know few people know about it.

It's Touhou Project.

To be honest, I know little about DMC, my knowledge limited to Dante, that's why I collaborate with my friend with enough DMC knowledge to help me writing this story.

Of course, I'm also do some researches about DMC on my own, and my friend do the same with Touhou.

Don't expect for weekly update, because we are busy with our life.

Devil May Cry owned by Capcom, Touhou Project owned by Team Shanghai Alice, and I own nothing. This is a fan fiction of those works.

"Even with the Devil Bringer, moving these things can be a real chore." groaned Nero, stretching the fingers on his righthand, demonic, glowing arm after carrying and dumping an all-steel grandfather clock onto the bed of a nearby truck. "Man, this thing looks even older than The Order. Looks like it still works, too." Nero pointed out in mild surprise.

"That's helpful actually." started the redhead next to him as she swept debris off the main road. "What time does it say?"

"Let's see.. 15:24. I wouldn't start worrying about the trip now. It's a 2-hour drive, but we can put this off at any time really."

"I know…" she responded with a sigh after unloading a heap of debris onto the truck bed. "But I struggle to think about these people being out of homes for any longer than necessary if we can help it. It's fortunate that we have a place to stay at the old headquarters."

"Yeah.. You're right, Kyrie. Let's see if we can get this whole block renovated before heading out for the day!"

"That's the spirit!"

She and Nero were helping restore the city back to normality after the momentous destruction that occurred months ago when The Order of the Sword had its uprising and the infamous Son of Sparda found himself involved. Since then, Nero has found himself largely alone among the number of individuals capable of hunting and destroying the demons that still haunt the now homeless citizens of Fortuna, barring a few dedicated hunters around such the son of Sparda himself. Strangely though, Nero hasn't seen the aloof store owner of the Devil May Cry shop in quite some time, only once more since their grand departure following The Order of the Sword's defeat. Fine enough, Nero would always reconcile to himself, more demons for his sword alone.

"Nero" Kyrie called out while pointing towards rubble in the entryway of a destroyed home, "That blade there? Doesn't that look like-"

"A Scarecrow, blade, yeah." Nero confirmed, walking closer to the scythe's blade poking out of the rubble and taking out his revolver with his left hand. Using his revolver-equipped hand, he pounded the rubble above the blade with a strong and firm fist. After a few seconds of silence, the blade began to move, before Nero swiftly ended the movement by shooting into the rubble with a single bullet. "Sorry, pal. Guys like you have caused enough trouble for this city." Nero pulled out the blade and was shocked to see that nothing was attached to it. Normally, these were stitched onto either a Scarecrow demon's leg or arm. Nero then noticed the rubble subtly move again, something which also startled Kyrie a bit. "Get back." He told Kyrie, to which she obeyed. Using his right hand, he grabbed his sword that was holstered to his back, and placed its tip on the ground to his left. Swiftly, he then swept his sword to the right, knocking back the rubble with a gust of wind to be slammed against the wall of the living room in the flat ahead.

As Nero knelt through the crumbled doorway, he could see another disembodied Scarecrow blade coming towards him through the air. He tilted his body to calmly avoid it before stepping back out of the doorway and casually chucking his firearm into the air, quickly passing his sword from his right hand into his left, then reaching past his left shoulder with his right, demonic hand. As if a ghost had extended from it, an ethereal, bigger version of his demon hand reached out to grab the projectile blade before reeling in to shoot it back towards its sender. Then, Nero passed his sword back from his left hand into his right and caught the now falling revolver in his left to take aim. Having the perfect shot, he pulled the trigger and the bullet was sent flying from his gun to hit the far end of the Scarecrow blade, pushing it while in mid-air and causing it to spiral. The spinning blade propelled faster through the air before slicing straight through the rubble, as well as whatever may have been on the other side, and an ugly screech could be heard.

"Jackpot", Nero said with a grin as he started walking towards the screech, "Now to shut you up and get back to work... Enough already!" Nero bolted into a run towards the noise, and was caught horribly off-guard when a shadowy creature jumped out of the wreckage and expanded to engulf him in its giant mouth. Within a flash, an ethereal phantom erupted around Nero, seemingly a ghostly knight hovering just above Nero with a katana in its right hand and a scabbard attached to its left arm. Nero held the creature's sharp teeth at bay with his larger sword, while his phantom assisted by holding its katana against the top of the creature's mouth. "Whew.. Still getting used to this." Nero breathed a sigh of relief, his voice echoed by a haunting enhancement of his new form while his eyes glowed red, "Sorry to cut to the chase, munchy, but I've got a job to do so it's time for you to split!" Following this witty banter, he swept his sword to the right and the phantom echoed by swinging its katana to slice off the roof of the creature's mouth. Next, he brought up his sword with both hands before slamming it to the ground, making the phantom pierce its sharp blade through the creature's head and nailing it to the ground.

Having pinned his enemy in place, it's time for the coup de grâce! Nero pinned his longsword onto the ground to his left to keep it in place, then winded the hilt to rev up the sword. Exhaust and machinery on the sword worked in tandem to fire it up and make it glow in a red, burning aura. As he swung his arm out for the finishing blow, he could feel himself sinking. Suddenly, both he and the creature were freefalling out of the sky! "Crap!" the bashful swordsman exclaimed. He managed to kick himself off the demon to fall at an angle, proceeding to crash land onto the front of a building before falling a few feet onto the ground with a loud pang.

"Dammit…" Nero collected himself and looked around for signs of his target.., signs that failed to reveal themselves. "Okay then, so much for a nice time with Kyrie. Where even am I?" Nero sheathed his sword to his back, holstered his revolver, recanted his phantasmic form, and began looking around. He couldn't tell how near or far he was from Fortuna. Unlike his familiar town, the buildings were intact, but it was still an urban area of normal human habitation. Feeling he'd wasted enough time, Nero took off at a run in search of his target.

At a nearby diner, a Lady had just finished settling down at a 2-seat table after purchasing 2 desserts: one chocolate parfait that she was eating, as well as a strawberry ice cream sundae that she had set on the opposite end of the table near the empty chair. After a few minutes had gone by of her idly eating her parfait and musing to herself, a man approached the table and stood next to the empty chair. "Hi there, Miss." He started, "I noticed you were here picking at ice cream by yourself for a whi-"

"Not interested" the woman flatly interjected, not bothering to look towards him. "Even if I wanted any semblance of company, I couldn't think any less of a man preying on a depressing woman just to land a date."

"Hey, it's not like that!" denied the man cooly, "Even if it was, how should I believe you? Ya really gonna' tell me you sat at a two-seat table, bought two ice creams, and didn't want to meet someone? Come on now, let's be two honest adults here." he insisted, grabbing the empty seat for his own.

"You have a point, I am here to meet someone." the woman smiled, "Someone here to pay his debts, including the sundae, and take on a job for me when he inevitably can't pay up."

"What kind of job are we talkin'?" asked the man, intrigued. Also curiously, around this time, a lot of banter could be heard rousing from the rest of the diner. "I can take on just about anything really."

"Hope that's not what you put on your resume." scoffed the woman, "It's not very professional." Putting down her ice cream, she reached under the table and placed a handgun in front of the man, with the banter and commotion around them turning to shouts and screams that managed to attract the man's attention but not the woman's. "Pay attention now. At least you get to put your money where your mouth is and be an 'honest adult here'. You see that slimy blob back there?"

The man turned his head to look behind his seat, spotting the source of the commotion and now-running patrons of the diner. "The hell is that thing..?"

"Beats me." said the Lady before returning to her ice cream, "But if you can kill it by yourself, I'll commit myself to a date."

"Need a guy to handle the gun for you, huh? Surprised you even keep this thing on you." he said as he looked around the gun. "This thing actually loaded?"

"Tick tock. It's looking pretty hungry." The blob, looking strikingly similar to the demonic creature from earlier with Nero and Kyrie, was moving to and fro throughout the diner with no apparent sense of direction. Now that it was edging closer to the only two inhabitants left in the building, the man tensed up and pulled the trigger, missing his target by two feet to the left and making his potential date burst out in laughter. Startled, the creature jumped to the side and scurried its way up the windows.

BANG! Another shot went through a window, missing the creature by a bit less distance this time.

BANG! Yet another bullet flew, this time carving through the ceiling as the man tried to chase the hurried creature with his sight.

"I thought you were trying to impress me." the woman grinned.

"Heh, part of my playbook... Always open up with a good laugh." the man replied, playing off his mistakes.

"Here, you wanna' catch a moving target?" she stood up and behind the man, cupping her hands around his to reposition the gun firmly, which had the effect of making him tense up even more. "You want to track with your gun, and predict with your eyes. Keep the barrel in line with the target, while you watch just ahead." In quiet focus, he did as instructed, though mostly leaning on the assist of his vulptuous new guide. "Once you have that, you shoot."

BANG!

ERRRR-IIIIEEEEE!

BAP! PANG!

He did it! At one point, the creature freely slimed along the ceiling, yet let out a terrifying cry before.. disappearing? At any rate, he did it! Concealing a sigh of relief, he placed the gun back onto the table and looked the woman in the eyes now with determined victory in his own. She had pretty, yet strangely differently-colored eyes. "I think a date's a date."

"Maybe. I think someone just stole your kill." She pointed out, aiming with her finger to the window as Nero crashed through.

"Damned thing sure is slippery.." Nero spoke to himself, revolver still in hand. He looked around for signs of the creature, but came up short again. "You two lovebirds haven't seen a slimy demon around, have you?"

"You just missed it." answered the woman.

"Yeah, I sent that thing packing ta' hell." the fellow grinned.

"That so..?" Nero holstered his firearm once again. "Almost ticks me off if I'm honest, wanted to at least kick the thing's ass for bringing me all the way out here with no way back."

"Where you from?" asked the man.

"Heading back to FortuUAAAGH!" Nero was abruptly interrupted when he found a Scarecrow's blade poking a few inches out of his chest. He turned around to see the object of his vendetta.

"Damn..! Get down!" the woman jumped into action, taking her pistol and heading towards our familiar devil hunter. She stopped in stunned surprise when he held up his right arm, summoning his phantom to block the train of Scarecrow blades and bullet rounds.

"This thing shoots bullets now?" Nero asked aloud. He then, painfully, pulled out the blade with his free hand and discarded it to the ground. Much to the man's surprise, Nero didn't have so much as a flesh wound.

"Just like Dante, huh?" the Lady thought aloud.

"Dante?" Nero gave her a glance at the mention of the name, "If he's involved, this must be bigger than I thought. Time to wrap this up." When Nero looked back to his target, he saw that it was escaping in what looked to be a rift akin to those seen in a time-travel movie. "Not this time!"

"Hang on a sec!" the woman jumped after him as Nero started a run towards the rift.

"It's alright, I got this." Nero urged, his phantom disappearing.

"You said it got away before, right? Two heads are better than one. And before you say no, I've saved Dante plenty of times before and the guy still owes me."

"If you say so." Nero said nonchalantly before heading into the rift.

"H-Hey! Lady!" yelled the fellow as the woman started after Nero, "What's going on here?"

"The professionals are doing their thing, ace shooter. Sit tight.., a promise is a promise. Oh, and you can have the sundae. When a guy in red shows up, tell him girls don't like being shown up."

"Do I at least get your name for.. when you get back?"

"You know it already. Ciao." With that she entered as well into the rift to a location yet unknown.

"I must'a hit the crazy lady jackpot…" remarked the fellow after all was said and done and he was left in silence.

Forest of Magic - a lush, peaceful forest, full of weird flora. The air in this forest is full of toxic spores that, once breathed by a human, would damage their respiratory system and would lead to death if not treated carefully.

But that peacefulness was disturbed by the sound of a mysterious portal, shaped like an oval with red lining, emitting a demonic aura. Soon afterwards, a tall figure jumped out of the portal; its skin is ash grey, it has shoulder length black hair, a pair of horns protruding from its forehead. The figure is bare chested, only wearing a pair of heavy-duty trousers and boots, a long thin tail swaying slowly behind it. It takes no genius to figure out that this figure is a demon.

The demon bent down, trying to catch his breath. "Those bastards almost got me good, good thing I'm able to conjure a portal fast enough."

The demon straightens his body back and lets out a deep breath. "Now then... where the hell am I?" Observing his surroundings, right now he's in a large clearing, green vegetations as far as his eyes can see. "I don't know why the portal dropped me here. Maybe I should scout this place for a bit." The demon faces the portal and holds his hand out towards it. A red mist covers the portal, then it slowly fades out until it can't be seen. "That should do it, don't want anyone meddling with it." The demon smirked. "The portal will teleport them to another location, if they dare to use it."

The demon navigates through the forest, occasionally looking to his left and right in case something jumps into him. Sometimes his eyes catch strange mushrooms and various plants, motes of lights floating around him - it's like they're curious with the mean-looking figure in the middle of the forest. "What's with these lights? And why are there so many of them? Do these plants produce the lights?" The demon put his clawed right hand to his chest. "The air is also weird, it's heavy and seems toxic, but the toxicity is not enough to hurt me because I'm a demon." The demon took a deep breath. "The air also contains an abundant amount of mana; I feel like I can cast spells non-stop."

...

After what feels like walking for an hour, the demon finally hears a voice; the voice of a human. But this voice does not belong to an adult human, rather a human child. The demon followed the voice, hoping to find some kind of civilization.

A waft of fresh and cold air tickled his nose and the voice became louder. "I'm getting close, hopefully I can gather more info about this place."

Later on, the demon ended up at the side of a lake, light mist hanging above the water surface, and the air slightly cold where he stood up. "Mmm, nothing much I can see here. But where's that vo-" When he saw blur figures in the mist, he jumped into the nearest bushes and listened to the voice carefully.

"Cirno-chan! You will never be able to challenge the miko, she's simply too much for you to handle."

"Nonsense! Eye will challenge her again because eye'm the strongest fairy in Gensokyo!"

'Gensokyo? Is this the name of the place I ended up in? I didn't know this place existed in the Human World.'

"Geez, would you listen to me for once? I'm tired of holding you back every time you want to go to the shrine."

The demon sticks his head out a little to see clearly the annoying owners of the voices. The figure on the left has a body of a child; she has curly blue hair with a blue ribbon tied at the back of her head, a white blouse underneath her blue jumper dress, a red necktie, and she's also barefooted. What makes the demon curious is her wings; she has icicle-shaped wings.

'Fairy, huh? And here I thought these pests had been extinct, but this world still has them. Great'

The second figure is also a fairy. Her hair is long and green, some of it tied into a side pigtail with a yellow ribbon. She wears a white blouse underneath a green jumper dress with white trim and sleeves, and her wings are golden and transparent, almost insect-like.

'I hope this world is not inhabited with them; I would kill all of them until none are left alive.'

The demon stepped out from the bushes he's been hiding in, then walked towards the fairies. "Greetings fairies, I heard someone that claimed the strongest individual in this world."

The green-haired fairy tensed and turned around. "Ah, an Oni. Are you from the underground?"

'Underground? The hell she's talking about?' The demon lifts an eyebrow.

"No, I came from a city; I was being chased around by a hunter, then ended up here with my portal."

"Hunter? Did you do something bad?"

'Not just bad, villainous. And I won't talk about what I did.' The demon tiredly stared at her.

"Anyway, what's your name, sir Oni? My name is Daiyousei," Then she gestures to the girl beside her" and this is my friend Cirno, an ice fairy."

"I don't have a name, a name it's not important for me."

Cirno hovered down, she put her hands on her hips. "You look strong, oni. Why don't we have a Spell Card battle?"

He frowned when he heard that name. 'Spell card battle? What is that, elementary-grade magic battle? And why do these brats keep calling me Oni.'

He shakes his head. 'I don't have time for that childish-sounding game.'

"Sorry, I don't have time for dealing with you brats. I've to go to where I came from."

The ice fairy giggled behind him. "You see that Dai-chan! He tucked his tail between his feet because he knows well not to mess around with the strongest."

The demon stopped his step, slowly turning back with a sharp glare in his eyes. "You're saying that I'm a coward?"

Cirno pointed her finger. "That's what it looks like! So, do you accept my challenge or not?"

The demon gritted his teeth. 'I'll show you the power of a demon.'

Before he could rush towards her, Cirno threw her arms forward, a magic circle appeared before her hands then shot a barrage of icicles.

"Ahkk... o-oowwww... gaaahhh!" The demon's half naked body was pelted by the icicles, he crossed his arms in front of him to block some of them, but the barrage was too much for him to handle. Even his body slowly slid backwards due to the knockback.

'It's stinging! Why the hell does it hurt so bad!?'

Deciding not to receive any more damage, he quickly turned around and fled into the forest.

'Screw that! I have gathered enough information about this wretched place. I will destroy this world someday.'

Seeing her opponent run away, the ice fairy furiously stomped her feet. "Coward!" Not letting her opponent gain some distance, Cirno decided to give him a chase. "C'mon, Dai-chan! I want to finish him off so people can see me as the strongest!"

"Haaa... haaaa... haa..."

The demon leaned on a tree after running away from the raging ice fairy. While catching his breath, he's also checking his surroundings.

"Fuck, what a bad day I have; first chased by that baby-faced hunter, then by an ice brat." After being relieved from his fatigue, he continued his journey. "I have to make sure I don't pissed offsomeone else again on the way back to that clearing."

Only five steps from his checkpoint, he heard a hum from behind. Frantically searching for a place to hide, he decided to climb up the tree he was leaning on. After making sure he was light enough, he sat on a thick branch.

'I should've run away sooner because I don't want to be found out by those fairies, but I'm also curious who's the owner of that voice.'

A minute later, a young girl emerges from behind bushes. Her hair is shoulder-length, blonde, with a braid on one side and a bow on the end. She's wearing a white shirt with a black vest on top of it, a black skirt, white apron, and a pair of knee boots. What makes her stand out is a witch hat with a white bow.

'That is a huge hat, and judging by the hat alone she is a witch.'

"Hmmm..." The girl was inspecting a cluster of mushrooms near her. "Ah, this will do. Geez, why'd Reimu ask me to cook anyway? Hopefully she doesn't mind mushrooms, ze." After picking some she goes off to another plant she found earlier.

The demon follows his eyes to the girl, then lets out a sigh. 'Okay, let's wait until she's far enough, then I can-'

"Boo!"

"Aaaarrggghh!" The demon slipped out of the branch, breaking several branches and twigs on his way down.

THUD!

"Fucccccckkkk!" The demon yelling in pain, even for a strong creature like him falling from 24 feet high is not comfortable.

"Wh-who the fuck was that!?"

"Hehehehe~." A red-haired fairy in a white dress floated down near him. "Awwh~ Mister Oni is in pain~."

The demon gritted his teeth while staring at the fairy. "I'll kill you, you brat fu-"

"Are you okay there, buddy?"

The demon stopped his curse when he heard another voice, he turned his head to the right and saw the blonde witch he observed not long ago.

"Wow, an Oni in the middle of the forest! Are you lost or something, ze? It's rare to see your kind this deep, you know."

The demon suddenly leaped to his feet then immediately looked at the short witch. "Okay that's it! I've heard enough of that Oni word, I'm gonna beat you up!"

The witch flinched by the sudden raising of his voice. "Hey, no need to be rude! And what kind of Oni is it that takes offence being called like that."

Deciding it's no use to finish the argument with a cool head, the witch menacingly floats from the ground. "You wanna go, buddy? I'll kick your ass into next week!" She summoned a pair of balls of light in front of her, then started shooting a salvo of green rockets towards the demon.

But the demon was quick on his toes, he immediately spins his body around and hides behind the tree.

Ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick

The deafening sound of the magic missiles hitting the tree branch makes the demon flinch. 'I have no time for bullshit! Better run away!'

The demon threw himself, sprinting away from the witch. Unfortunately she saw the demon's attempt. "You are running away? Looks like I found myself an Oni punching bag!"

Ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick

The demon weaved around the trees and fallen branches to avoid getting hit by the missiles.

'How long will this chick keep shooting me with those missiles?'

"Keep on running, buddy! You can't escape from me even if you go to the afterlife!" The witch shouted with a grin on her face.

While the demon was still running from the angry black-white witch, a realization came to him. "Wait a minute. I know this path!" He stopped running, quickly scanning the environment. "There should be a big orange-spotted green mushroom around here."

Seconds later, he found what he is looking for: a big, orange-spotted, green mushroom with smaller sizes around the big cap. "There, the clearing where I set up the portal should be near here."

"Where are you~, chicken Oni~?"

The demon turns his head to the hollered witch. "That chick is already here." Reaching to his destination while sneaking passed the witch would be an easy task for him-

Snap!

Or not.

"Cursed twig!"

"There you are!"

The witch starts sending another salvo of magic missiles as soon as she spots the demon.

"Gotta book it, gotta book it!"

...

"There it is! That's the clearing!"

With no time wasted, he aimed his palm to the transparent portal and, muttering the spell, the portal slowly regained its color and energy to send the desperate demon back to his world.

After a minute of reactivation, the demon immediately hops into the portal, without spending any second to look back.

...

Minutes later, Marisa arrived at the location the portal placed.

"Woah~ That is a creepy looking portal." The portal itself is smooth in design, a perfect circular portal with the red aura and lighting to give anyone looking at it an ominous feeling. "I wonder where this portal leads me to?"

Marisa looked around for that Oni, but no sign of his aura. "Should I jump into this portal? I'll be a dead meat if I dropped in the middle of demon lair." Marisa rubbed her chin, pondering.

After enough pondering, she shakes her head and grins. "Screw it! Today is no potion experiment! Time to go for an adventure, ze!"

After making sure she has enough health and mana potions and checking the mini-Hakkero, she jumped into the portal.

Hakurei Shrine, a Shinto shrine located near the border between the Outside World and Gensokyo, a world where Youkai and Humans live side by side.

Inside the shrine, a young girl sips her tea in peace, a basket of Mandarins in front of her. She's sitting in a kotatsu, providing enough heat to warm the girl.

This girl is Reimu Hakurei, the shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine. She has a black hair reaching to her back, a pair of red tubes on her sidelocks, a large red ribbon at the back of her head. What makes her stand out is her uniform; it consists of a red skirt, a sleeveless red top with a white collar, tied with a red ribbon, and a pair of white detached sleeves which expose her armpits and sarashi (a cloth to cover her chest).

Today is a peaceful day, no incidents happened, no report of rough youkai in the past couple of weeks, and no prank from the three Fairies of Light. But there's one missing thing.

"Where's Marisa? She usually comes here to bother me." She has been a friend with her since their first encounter years ago. They're so close Reimu sometimes sees her as a big sister because she's two years younger than the witch. "I should visit her sometimes; it makes me feel bad for rarely coming to her house." Thinking of her house, she furrowed her brows. "If she even bothers to clean her house. My shrine may look unkempt from the outside, but at least I always clean it once a week."

Putting aside her tea cup, she stood up from the kotatsu. "Okay, my intuition tells me something bad happened to her. I hope she's at her house right now."

"WOOOAAAHHHH!"

Before she could step out of the living room, a loud voice could be heard from the outside. She pulls out her purification rod and talismans from her sleeves in reaction, then slowly walks around the shrine to the front yard.

After reaching the front yard, she found a pile of bodies; a man with white hair and black jacket on the bottom, and a woman with short black hair on top of him, surprisingly wearing an Outside world school uniform. Reimu has seen her fellow shrine maiden wear one but what she's seeing right now is different. The man and the woman are in a back-to-back position.

"Uggghhh... that was a rough landing. I think I hurt my back." The man groaned in pain, with his eyes still shut.

"Sorry Nero, that was me. I think I hurt my back because of your sword."

Reimu slowly approached the pile. As a shrine maiden, she's able to read auras of either living or non-living objects, and she reads the aura of the woman first. 'She is a human, a normal one at that. She's a small threat but still I should be careful.'

She reads the man's aura, her eyes wide open for a moment before she narrows them again. 'But this man is different, I can feel a human aura from, but also a demonic aura. Is he a half Youkai?' Another similar aura can be read from the antique shop owner Rinnosuke, but the "youkai" side of this stranger is powerful, whereas Rinnosuke's is weak.

After enough investigation, she asked the pile. "Are you guys alright?"

The woman's eyes opened up slowly, her staring into a blur figure. "Who... who are you?"

Reimu offered her hand. "Here, let me help you."

The woman in pain took her hand. "Thank you."

Reimu pulled the woman to stand up, the woman shook her head and stared down at the shrine maiden. "Hello there, young lady."

Reimu frowned when she looked up to the woman. 'Really? Another tall woman? Sometimes I'm always asking why I'm surrounded by tall women.' To picture it clearly, Reimu is as tall as the woman's shoulder.

Feeling forgotten, the man groaned to reconfirm his presence. "A... a little help here?"

The woman gasped, she quickly helped her partner stand up. While the man was trying to stand, Reimu caught a glimpse of a sword strapped on the man's back. After fully standing, the man dusted off his outfit. "Okay. Now where'd that demon bastard run off to?"

Reimu held her ground, ready if something bad happens. "Okay, now can you tell me who are you and where you guys come from?"

Nero, looking at the shrine maiden's posture, holds his hands out. "Woah woah, easy there, little girl, we're not gonna hurt you!"

The woman smiled at the shrine maiden. "Maybe we should introduce ourselves first." The woman gives her right hand. "My name is Lady, and this is my partner Nero, nice to meet you."

Reimu dropped her stance, staring at the woman's hand, she decided to take it and shakes. "Reimu Hakurei, the shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine."

Hearing the word 'shrine', Nero raises a brow. "Wait. Shrine? As in... a holy place?"

"What? You never saw a shrine before?"

Nero clicked his tongue. "Anyway. Where exactly are we right now? I've never seen a place with so much green before."

Lady smiled. "We're probably in another isolated island, far away from Fortuna. I like this place, unlike our home where everything's depressing and bleak."

Nero frowned at her remark. "Fortuna may not be a fancy place like this, but that's still our home and I like there."

Reimu stepped in. "You are on an island called Japan, and the place we're currently in is called Gensokyo, the Illusion Land."

Lady tilted her head. "What? I never heard of such island before. How far are we exactly from Fortuna? And Gensokyo? Illusion Land?"

Nero groaned. "Who cares about those. We must find that demon first and kill it, after that we go out from this boring place."

Reimu felt insulted for her homeland being called boring, but decided not to show it. "Demon? Is that the reason you come here?"

Lady nodded. "Yes. We encountered a demon back in Fortuna. Then suddenly a mysterious rift appeared in front of us, we entered this mysterious rift... you know the rest of the story."

Reimu crossed her arms. 'Rift? Why do I feel like Yukari is fooling around again? Not only is she allowing a demon to enter Gensokyo, but also them?'

As a final answer, Reimu shakes her head. "I'm sorry, I don't see this demon you're talking about. I was relaxing inside my shrine."

Nero was shocked by her blunt excuse. "What? You don't know a demon passed by? You're a freaking holy person but you didn't detect a foul aura around here?" Nero scoffed. "Some holy person you are."

Reimu gritted her teeth. 'How dare he talk me down like that? Does he think he is better than me?'

Lady immediately stood between them. "Guys guys, chill, you don't have to fight."

Nero turned his head to her. "Out of my way Lady, I feel like I should punish this so-called holy person, who knows she's probably working the demon." He pulled his sword from its scabbard and a pistol from its holster. Nero pointed his sword to the shrine maiden while smirking. "Come little girl, let's see what if you're as strong as you think you are."

Reimu sighed, she pulled out her purification rod and a deck of talismans back. "If you wish."
