I can't say that I was expecting to continue this, but here we are. I don't know where I'll go after this chapter, but I doubt this will turn into a giant story. Fair warning though, if this takes off into a large fanfic, don't expect frequent or even consistent updates. I only write when the desire strikes and that's pretty rare these days as it is. Doesn't help that I can only seem to write at night for whatever reason. But that's not important for now. If you do want to see this grow, then please let me know. As I said, I can't be sure what I'll do, but your support may help me stay motivated to keep writing and create something great. By the way, something will happen in this chapter that may seem contradictory to what was stated in the first chapter, but just keep reading and I'll explain in a note at the end of the chapter. That's enough of me though. Please enjoy.

Ever since Midoriya had left, Class 1-A had noticed something different about Bakugou. He seemed much more subdued. Though he might yell at them every so often, he didn't threaten them nearly as much. More than that, it seemed that he never used his quirk, even in training. Though they tried to ask him about it, he always brushed them off, stating that he was training to be independent from his quirk.
One night, while they enjoyed the weekend in the common room, Kirishima noticed Bakugou heading for the door. "Yo, Bakugou! Where you going?"
His hands balled into fists before slowly loosening them. "Out." He impatiently said, leaving the dorm.
"Should we tell Instructor Aizawa?" Tsuyu asked.
"Nah, leave him be." Mina dismissed. "He's probably still upset about what happened to Midori."
The students all looked down, fondly remembering their classmate.
"It feel's weird without Deku here." Ururaka lamented.
"I understand how you feel, but it can't be helped." Shoto rested a comforting hand on her shoulder. "The only thing that I hate is how we don't know anything."
"Agreed." Iida said thoughtfully. "I can only assume that something happened on Nabu Island that we can't be wholly trusted with. I can't say that I blame the staff though. We're only students after all…"
While Class 1-A continued to speak of their regrets, Bakugou met with his childhood friend in a park not far from UA. Izuku sat on a bench, scrolling through his phone as he waited for his successor. "Deku…" He heard a quiet voice.
"Kachan!" He yelled, jumping off the bench.
"Hey…"
"Hey…"
Their words hung in the air, neither sure of how to start things.
Bakugou started rubbing the back of his neck as he averted his eyes. "Listen… I know more or less what the powers of One For All are, but…"
"You think you'll hurt yourself like I did before I got better control of it." Izuku finished.
"Yeah… So, I was hoping you could train me."
Izuku gave his old friend a puzzled look. "Why me? Why not All Might or even Gran Torino? I'm sure both of them could help you more than I ever could."
"Why does it matter?!" Bakugou yelled before gaining back his composure. "Look, can you help train me or not?"
"Kachan…" Izuku looked at his balled fist, looking over the scars he had made before clenching it tighter and allowing whatever remnants of One For All that remained inside him to come to the surface. "Alright! Let's do it, Kachan!" Bakugou almost wanted to smile, but all he could manage was to tense his fist.
Izuku sat himself and Bakugou on the bench had been resting on before. "Alright, first things first. You have to learn how to control your power output."
"So, how do I do that?"
"Imagine an egg in a microwave. Too much power and it'll explode. Too little and it won't be cooked. You have to find the sweetspot in order to keep yourself under control."
Bakugou looked at Izuku with an impatient glare. "What kinda advice is that?! The hell do eggs got to do with this?!"
"A-Alright! How about this then." Izuku stood up and kept his knees bent and elbows tucked in. "Try to imagine feeling every muscle in your body. Once you do that, imagine sending power into them all at once. Just a little bit though! Otherwise you'll break your bones."
Bakugou stood up and mimicked his predecessor's stance. He focused everything he had on feeling his muscles. Paying attention to every inch of his own body. Slowly, he began pushing the energy within him all throughout his body. Small arcs of orange electricity began dancing across his arms and legs.
"Alright! I'm doing it! Now what?!" He yelled, struggling to keep a hold on himself.
"Now, you need to keep the energy where it is, but loosen yourself up. You won't be able to move properly if you don't loosen up."
Despite his best efforts, the moment he loosened his body, Bakugou's hold on his power fell apart and dissipated. For the next hour, they tried over and over to get a hold on Bakugou's power. After finally managing to keep his full cowl under control, Bakugou began shooting himself off the trees in the park, never using his explosion quirk, but rather honing Deku's style of moving around.
"It looks like you've managed to get it down, Kachan."
"Heh, was there ever any doubt that I'd manage?" He said cockily.
Izuku, though surprised at first, let out a quick sigh and smiled as he looked to the ground. "Of course there wasn't, Kachan. You'd be able to get a handle on just about anything. As long as you put your mind to it."
"Damn right!"
Bakugou's confident smile quickly became overshadowed by a sense of guilt, and he lost hold over his full cowling. As soon as he saw it, Izuku strongly punched his old friend in the shoulder. "Hey!" He yelled. "You don't get to mope around like that!"
"The hell you just say to me?!" Bakugou barked.
"You heard me, Kachan!" Izuku grabbed hold of Bakugou's collar and pulled him in closer. "A hero never stops smiling! Isn't that right?!"
Bakugou, though shocked from Izuku's sudden heel turn, balled his fist and punched him in the face. "Quit thinking that you get to lecture me on being a hero! I've been wanting to become the number one long before you ever did! You damn nerd!"
Midoriya slowly rose back up to his feet and wiped his fist over his mouth, checking for blood. "Oh yeah?" Stomping the ground with a single foot, Deku activated his full cowl. "Then prove it, Kachan! Prove to me how far you're willing to go!"
"You wanna go?!"
"Not yet, Kachan. Prove to me that you can use Full Cowling as effectively as I can. Then I'll fight you. With everything I have"
"Fine then! Let's race back to campus! But when I win, you've gotta go all out against me! Got it!"
The two of them began shooting about the trees, rushing as fast as they could towards campus. Though Bakugou had certainly managed to gain control of his full cowling more quickly than Deku, he wasn't nearly as adept as his predecessor.
Izuku shot through the trees so quickly that before he even knew it, he was already out of the park. He broke out in a sprint towards UA, using whatever he could to gain speed. Though Bakugou was running close behind, he knew that there was no way that he would lose, unless Bakugou were to use his original quirk.
As the school's gates came into view, Izuku shot it into high gear, nearly slamming into the wall as he came to a stop. Smiling, he turned around to check on Bakugou and saw his successor quickly approaching the school without any sign of slowing down. "Kacha-"
Bakugou slammed Izuku into the wall and held him by his throat. "Why…" He asked, hiding his eyes behind his hair.
"W-What?" He asked, unsure about what he meant.
"After all of the things I've done to you… Why?" Bakugou whispered, his voice cracking. "Why the hell would you give this quirk to me?!"
"Kachan…"
"I bullied you! Basically tortured you! You were my best friend, but as soon as I found out you were quirkless, I cast you away like you were nothing!" Tears began strolling down Bakugou's cheeks. "You finally had a shot at making your dream come true! At putting me in my place! I already killed the first Symbol of Peace! And now I killed the next! What right does scum like me have to inherit this quirk?!"
"Kachan!" Izuku yelled. "You can't talk like that about yourself! How do you think it'll make everyone feel if the next number one doesn't even think of himself as a hero?!"
Bakugou, without One For All, punched the concrete beside Midoriya's head. "Don't you get it, Deku?! I can't become the number one hero! I don't have the right! You're the only one who deserves it!"
"Stop it, Kachan!" Izuku yelled, punching his oldest friend in the face. As Bakugou stumbled back, recovering from the surprise attack, Izuku stepped forward. "Don't you remember me telling you that between you and All Might, you were the only one that was ever there?! If anyone gets to tell you whether or not you have a right to be the next number one hero, it's me!" Getting ready for another punch, Izuku reared his fist back. "So don't go telling me that you've given up on our dream!" His fist connected solidly with the side of Bakugou's face, sending the broken hero to the ground.
Bakugou couldn't move for whatever reason as he laid there on the ground, staring up at the star filled sky. Izuku came to stand over him and offered his hand, a look of determination completely dominating his face. Bakugou, once more, let tears fall from his eyes. "You damn nerd…" He weakly uttered before tightly grasping Izuku's hand and pulling himself up.
Izuku placed a hand on Bakugou's shoulder and looked him in the eyes. "It's too late for me to be a hero, Kachan. But I promise that for as long as One For All's embers are alive inside me, I'll help you reach our goal."
Bakugou closed his eyes and looked away from Izuku as he brushed his hand off his shoulder. "It doesn't make a difference, Deku. I'm still not cut out to be the number one."
"Then cut yourself out to be."
Bakugou looked over his shoulder with an annoyed face. "Was that supposed to be profound or something?"
"No-I-It's just-"
"Deku…"
"Uh, yes?"
"One For All. I know how the transer works, but… Can it work in reverse?"
"Reverse?" Izuku asked, unsure of what Bakugou meant.
"Can I give it back to you? At the expense of my quirk?"
"Oh! I-I don't know!" Izuku took in a deep breath. "But… Even if it is possible, I won't let you."
"You think you could stop me if I tried?"
"Probably not, but still, One For All isn't mine to use anymore. It's yours now, Kachan. It's your turn."
Bakugou wiped his eyes with his arm and walked towards UA's gate. "Damn nerd. You just don't know when to shut up." He muttered to himself. "Fine!" He yelled. "Listen here, Deku! I'm gonna become a greater hero than you would have ever been! You got that?! And once I do, I'm passing the torch back to you! Even if I gotta tie you down and spoon feed you my own spit! That way, both of our dreams can come true!"
Izuku saw the determination in Bakugou's eyes and matched it in return. "Alright, Kachan! Then become the number one hero! Once you do, I'll surpass even you!"
Scoffing, Bakugou turned and jumped over the wall and back into UA's grounds while Izuku returned home.
As the notoriously aggressive student entered the dorm, he saw his classmates watch him intently. "The hell you all looking at, huh?!"
"Your face dude!" Kirishima answered. "Looks like you got into a fight."
Bakugou, confused, slowly brought his fingers to where Izuku had punched him and pulled away as they made contact with his face. "Well, I didn't!" He said, walking towards the elevators. As he walked back to his dorm, he touched his face again and gave a soft smile. "One For All or not, that damn nerd knows how to throw a punch…"
Alright, so before I say anything, I just wanted to address the fact that in the first chapter, Izuku said he no longer had his quirk. Basically, think of it in the same way that All Might still used One For All after passing it on to Midoriya. If anyone is curious, he didn't continue training to be a hero because he had no idea how long One For All would last, so he opted to drop out instead. With that out of the way, what did you all think? Like I said, I don't know if I'll continue with this story or not, but I think that leaving it here wouldn't be too bad in terms of completion. But who knows, maybe I'll end up creating a big story. Anyway, please let me know what everyone thinks. Have a good one, everybody.
