A Payneful Delay

Once again to school I ride.

Once again with dad beside.

We leave early, start of day.

Cause we both know that there'll be delays.

...

Sure enough, on airship grand,

A group of foul sky pirates land.

Don't have to say what it portends,

That they are armed with swords to rend.

...

Okay then, we will do our show.

Atop the airship's hull we go.

Show them you should not play games,

With members of the family Payne.

...

The fight is long, the fight is fun,

But when all of it is said and done,

I realize I can't call it great,

That once again for school I'm late.

...

Pirates are handed to police.

With hope, far away's release.

Then with dread to school I fly,

As my insides start to die.

...

Arrive, give dad a kiss on cheek.

Then into classroom try to sneak.

And when asked, to the teacher say,

"The usual ma'am, Payneful delay."
