Izuku did his best to look anywhere but at Katsuki as he ate his lunch. Even Hatsume, who Izuku had thought was immune to any form of social cue, was keeping quiet. It had been a couple days since the battle trial. Izuku had wanted to ask how it had gone but the perpetual bad mood his friend had been in the last few days prevented him from doing so.

At first Izuku had suspected he'd lost, but as he thought on it more that wouldn't put his friend in this kind of mood. Izuku came to the conclusion that it was far more likely he'd won but he hadn't felt like he'd earned the win.

His mood was slowly improving though as Izuku was able to learn that today they had elected a class representative. He wasn't able to figure out who it was from him though. They'd elected a representative for their class as well; an outgoing girl with a quirk that allowed her to change her hair color at will.

The group continued to eat in silence until an alarm rang throughout the cafeteria. Izuku and Katsuki were instantly on edge and ready for a fight. They overheard an older student say something about a break in. Izuku and Katsuki looked at each other. Katsuki's current mood pushed aside, the two got into "vigilante mode".

The entire room had been thrown into chaos. Shinsou and Hatsume were looking at them but weren't making any moves to leave their side. "We need to get things under control. Everyone panicking like this will only cause more trouble and make things harder in the long run." Izuku said as he scanned the area for other exits.

Katsuki grunted in agreement. "If we can figure out the source of the threat we might be able to calm people down. Could always be a false alarm."

Shinsou quirked an eyebrow. "You two seem pretty calm. You had experience with stuff like this before?"

Izuku flushed and turned away while Katsuki eyed Shinsou up. "Better then panicking." He pointed to the windows. "We should take a look outside. We might be able to see something."

The group stuck together and did their best to avoid the chaos that was still the exit. The group glanced out the window and Katsuki frowned. "Is that the fucking press?"

Izuku looked outside and could indeed see the same thing Katsuki saw. Currently Present Mic and Eraserhead were doing their best to keep the press, who were now inside the school grounds, at bay. Hatsume came up to the window and looked around outside; Izuku assumed she was using her quirk.

"Looks like the gate's been destroyed. I don't even see any broken parts on the ground, it's just gone." Hatsume said turning back to the group.

"Would the press really sink low enough to destroy private property to get a story?" Shinsou mused, surveying the chaos inside.

"Wouldn't put it past the fuckers. They'd do just about anything for a good story." Katsuki growled.

"Something about this doesn't feel right though." Izuku brought a hand to his chin. "Reporters are well aware of the laws. Why would they risk their careers for something like this? It might yield a good story but it wouldn't make up for losing their jobs." he reasoned.

Katsuki gave him a look that said "we'll talk more about this later". Izuku nodded. "For now we need to get these idiots to stop panicking before someone gets hurt." Katsuki said looking over the crowd. He spotted a familiar head of brown hair near the fringes of the chaos. "Wait here. I have an idea." He said running off to retrieve Uraraka from the crowd.

"Bakugou?" she said as he pulled her from the crowd back to their assembled group. He pointed out the window.

"It's just the fucking press. Everyone's freaking out for no reason." He pointed to Izuku. "Make this idiot float so we can calm people down."

Izuku looked at Katsuki surprised. "M-me?" he chuckled nervously. "Why me?"

"Because you're good at this shit. Way better than me at it." Katsuki reluctantly admitted. He remembered countless times on patrol where Izuku had managed to calm a victim down enough so that they could leave in good conscience. He had a knack for making people feel calmer; Katsuki would know that better than anyone.

Thankfully Izuku seemed to understand and confidently held out his hand for Uraraka. She looked between Katsuki and Izuku. Then she nodded and slapped Izuku's outstretched hand. He gently began to float off the ground. Katsuki wasted little time in grabbing him by the arm and propelling him to the front of the crowd with the help of a smaller explosion.

Thankfully he managed to catch himself on the wall above the door pretty gently. He took a deep breath and turned to address the crowd in the loudest voice he could manage. "It's fine everyone! It's just the press! Please try to calm down and not hurt others as you try to evacuate!" Izuku did his best to give a reassuring smile.

Not long after the teachers came in and took control of the situation. Though they were reassured the teachers had the situation under control the whole ordeal still left a bad taste in the vigilante duo's mouths.

During their patrols following the incident they kept an ear out for any information they might be able to find. Katsuki threw a villain against a wall and turned to interrogate him. His voice changer made his voice seem even more threatening than he could naturally make it. "What do you know about the recent break in at UA high? Tell me if you want to keep all your limbs intact." He glared at the villain with blue eyes; changed from the contacts he had in.

Izuku glanced over at him while he was securing the other villain they had fought. The two had been drug dealers that they had been tracking for about a week. A couple of the more high profile villains they'd gone after during their time as vigilantes. It was a convenient time to catch them as well; since they might have information.

The man stared up at Katsuki. "Look man I don't know anything about that." He tried. Katsuki literally growled at the man and took a step forward. He held his hands up in some sort of defensive pose. "Look I don't know anything about that but I do have some other information you might be interested in."

Katsuki thought it over for a moment. "Better not be a waste of our fucking time. Or else." Katsuki geastured for the man to go on.

He nodded his head eagerly. "There's been this group going around recently. Call themselves the League of Villains. They've been recruiting thugs off the street for who knows what. They're making a big claim though." He looked around as if to see if there was anyone else listening in. "They say they can kill All Might."

Dead silence.

Neither party made a sound after that information was shared. Katsuki and Izuku glanced at each other; blue and brown met, both filled with concern. Katsuki did his best to hide his shock. "I suppose that fucking good enough to keep your limbs intact." And without time for further conversation he knocked the villain out.

The duo quickly informed the police about the two unconscious drug dealers before fleeing the scene so they could talk things over. They stopped at one of their usual break areas.

"The League of Villains…" Izuku started. "Do you think they had something to do with the break in?"

"Don't know for sure, but based on what that fucker said we can't rule out that possibility." Katsuki replied.

Izuku frowned. "Didn't you say you have a field trip coming up soon?"

"Day after tomorrow." Katsuki supplied. "Why?"

"I just have a bad feeling is all." Izuku paused. "What that guy said lines up too. We've been seeing a lot less activity than usual. Even before the break in."

It was true. There had been nights in the past month where they hadn't encountered a single villain all night. While the duo would like to chalk it up to them doing a good job neither were convinced that was the case.

"We'll just have to play it safe and keep an ear out for any information on these fuckers." Katsuki finally said. "Hate to admit it but there's not much else we can do right now."

Izuku nodded slowly. "Yeah. It's kinda outside of our usual range of work. We've only really every taken out villains we've encountered on patrol. Though I suppose we've tracked down a couple specifically." He sighed. "But never a group like this."

"We'll consider it training then. But if things get too dangerous we leave it alone and let the pros handle it. Got it?" Katsuki asked, sideying Izuku.

Izuku nodded quickly. "I know Kacchan. We've made it this far by being careful. This wouldn't be a good time to change that."

"You two careful? Could've fooled me." Eraserhead said as he landed on the roof. "Pretty sure the only reason you two haven't been arrested yet is because I feel like a generous person most of the time."

Katsuki scoffed. "Yeah right. You wish you could bring us in. I'd like to see you fucking try."

"Let's maybe not test that theory tonight." Izuku sighed. He pulled out a notebook and began writing down what they knew about their current case.

Aizawa settled himself beside Izuku and glanced down at the notebook. "The League of Villains? Isn't organized crime a bit out of your league?" He asked, a disapproving tone to his voice.

Izuku turned away from Aizawa to hide the notebook from his view. "We're just gathering information. We don't plan on going after them or anything."

Aizawa hummed. "Just be careful otherwise I'll actually have to do my job and bring you two in."

"Is that a fucking threat? And here I thought we were friends." Katsuki said sarcastically.

"Friends or not I still have a job to do and the only reason you two haven't been brought in yet is because your crimes are small and I'm willing to look the other way." Aizawa huffed.

The group lapsed into silence; the sounds of the city and pencil on paper filled the silence. Izuku suddenly closed the notebook and stashed it away. He turned to Katsuki. "We should head in Wolf. We have a couple things we still need to do."

Katsuki looked like he was going to protest but Izuku gave him a look and he backed down. "Fucking fine. Whatever. Let's go."

Aizawa quirked an eyebrow. "I hope you two aren't neglecting your homework for this."

"Fuck no. You may not think so but we're both pretty fucking responsible." Katsuki narrowed his eyes. Offended at the mere suggestion that they weren't doing their work.

Izuku got up and walked over to the edge of the roof; Katsuki was quick to join him. "See you some other time Eraserhead!" Izuku yelled as he leaped off the roof.

Aizawa sighed heavily once the duo was out of sight. He swore those two were up to something far larger than they let on. "The League of Villains huh? I'll have to keep an ear out for any information on them…" he mused before hopping off the roof himself.

The time between that night and the class 1-a field trip passed far too quickly in Izuku's opinion. They hadn't heard anything else the following night and the lack of information had both of them a bit more on edge than usual.

On the day of the trip Izuku pulled Katsuki aside before they split to go to their classes. He nervously fished a small circular device out of his pocket and held it out for Katsuki to take.

Katsuki gave him a questioning look but took it anyway. "What's this Deku?"

Izuku fidgeted nervously. "It's something me and Hatsume put together. Call it a fail safe if you will." He pulled his phone out of his pocket. "That device sends a signal to my phone every five minutes. If it fails to send a signal I'll be notified." He pocketed his phone.

"And why are you giving this to me? You think I can't handle myself?" Katsuki said, but there was no real tone of accusation.

Izuku still shook his head furiously. "N-no of course not! I mean of course I think you can take care of yourself! This is just…" He trailed off and flung out an arm in an exasperated gesture. "I just really don't have a good feeling about today and I want to be able to know if you're ok." he finished quietly.

Katsuki regarded him for a moment before pocketing the device. "Fucking fine Deku. I'll take it with me if it'll get you to calm down about it. Nothing's going to happen though."

Izuku gave him a small smile. "Thank you Kacchan."

Katsuki rolled his eyes. "Whatever nerd." He paused and looked down at the disc. "What do plan on doing if something does go wrong anyway?"

Izuku avoided his gaze and said nothing.

It didn't take long for Katsuki to figure out what Izuku's silence meant. "No fucking way Deku. You better not be planning on coming to help if something happens. I fail to understand how you can be smart one moment then do stupid shit like this the next!" Katsuki leveled a glare at Izuku, but also lowered his voice. "We both agreed to not take unnecessary risks to avoid getting fucking caught. We both said we lie low and then once we're both officially heroes we let Rabbit and Wolf just drop off the radar. This-" he jabs a finger into Izuku's chest, "-is a fucking unnecessary risk."

Izuku fidgeted under Katsuki's scrutiny. "I-I know Kacchan. But if something happened to you I…" He took a deep breath to compose himself. "I don't know what I'd do." he finished, voice barely audible.

Katsuki's gaze softened slightly, and he sighed in frustration. "Fucking, I know Deku. But nothing is going to happen. Got it?"

Izuku looked at him for a moment before nodding. "Ok Kacchan." he said softly.

Katsuki gave him an awkward pat on the shoulder to try and comfort him. He'd never been good at this sort of thing. Izuku had always been better at that as reluctant as Katsuki was at admitting it. "Let's just get to class before we're late nerd."

Izuku took a deep breath and nodded. "Alright. Yeah. We should go."

The two walked in silence before they reached where they would have to separate. The two waved goodbye to each other. Both still on edge but doing their best to ignore it. Katsuki silently hoped that nothing really did happen today so that Izuku wouldn't do anything stupid.
