Katsuki glanced at his partner as they rode to the testing area. Uraraka sat bouncing slightly in her seat. She glanced over at him and smiled. His scowl softened slightly instead of smiling back. She seemed happy about the response anyway. "So do you have a plan Bakugou?" Uraraka asked.
Katsuki's eyebrows furrowed. In all honesty he didn't. They were up against All Might for fucks sake. It was hard to form a plan to beat the number one hero. "Well I'm not gonna be a dumbass and try to say I'm stronger than him. He's number one for a fucking reason. So instead of trying to overpower him we'll have to outsmart him. I hate to admit it but that's our only chance at winning." Uraraka nodded thoughtfully. Katsuki wouldn't admit that to just anyone, but living with Izuku all these years had managed to humble him. If only a bit. He learned how to fight smarter on their patrols since he couldn't rely on his quirk to get by and in all honesty he was thankful for that. He was glad he got over his… dislike of Izuku and actually managed to learn from him. The two had pushed each other to be better over the years and both of them would be better heroes for it.
"We can always try to get past him and run for the exit. We don't have to cuff him right?" Uraraka suggested.
Katsuki thought over the idea for a moment. "I doubt he'd let us do that. He'll probably be fucking expecting us to. Knows that even if he's hindered he's fucking stronger than us." He crossed his arms and looked down. How were they gonna get past him? Suddenly he had an idea. "Wait. I might fucking have something." He looked up and smirked at Uraraka. "You fucking up for it Round Face?"
Uraraka returned his smirk. "Tell me what you're thinking Bakugou."
Toshinori stretched as he prepared for the exam to start. He'd been put against young Bakugou and Uraraka. Any students put up against him would have a hard time so he was understandably concerned. He wanted his students to pass yes, but he couldn't go easy on them because that wouldn't be a fair test of what they've learned. The starting signal came soon after and he wound up a punch to send down the street in the direction his students would be starting in.
Before him lay a decimated street but no sign of his students. He guessed they would prefer to avoid him if possible. He didn't expect Bakugou to agree to the plan easily just based on how he'd seen him act in the past. He shook his head. This wasn't the time to be thinking about it; he had a couple students to find.
As it turned out he didn't have to find anyone as Bakugou came flying at him from above; letting loose a large explosion in his face. He recoiled slightly but recovered quickly and rushed at his student. As Bakugou expertly dodged out of the way he noticed that his student was alone and there were no signs of Uraraka nearby. Was Bakugou meant to be a distraction then?
"Oi! All Might! Your fight is with me! I'm gonna take you down here and now!" There was a confident smirk on Bakugou's face. Ah no, it seemed that Bakugou was acting on his own then. It's likely that Uraraka was going off on her own because she couldn't get Bakugou to cooperate. While Bakugou wasn't terrible at cooperating with others there was a lot of improvement to be made. Bakugou had been put up against Toshinori because he would have to work with his partner to succeed. Seems that he was going to drag down Uraraka with him.
"Young Bakugou, you stand little chance of defeating me on your own. I will not hold back." Toshinori warned as he prepared to attack.
Small explosions popped off in Bakugou's palms. "Fucking good. Don't you dare hold back!" With that Bakugou beat him to the punch and launched himself.
It surprised Toshinori just how much control Bakugou had over what would be considered a volatile quirk. Not only could his student unleash powerful blasts on him, but he would use smaller ones to twist out of the way of attacks. Soon enough though Toshinori landed a solid hit that sent Bakugou flying. He flinched slightly as Bakugou collided with a nearby building and broke through the wall. He stood waiting for a moment looking for movement and saw nothing. Now it was time to find Uraraka before she reached the exit gate.
Just as he began to leave to locate his other student he heard an explosion from the building and turned around just in time to see Bakugou once again flying at him. "You aren't taking me down that easy!" He yelled as he unintentionally landed an explosion on Toshinori's injury. Toshinori recoiled unwillingly and clutched the old wound. There was a wild look on his student's face, he wouldn't be giving up any time soon. Toshinori needed to deal with him quickly if he was going to find Uraraka in time.
Toshinori launched himself at Bakugou once more. Bakugou held his ground and held up one of his gauntlets and pulled the pin. All Might was forced to stop as he coughed slightly from the smoke and dust caused by the explosion. When the smoke and dust cleared Bakugou was no longer in front of him. Toshinori internally cursed; he shouldn't have let that stop him; the attack hadn't done too much damage to him. He glanced around in an attempt to find out where his student went.
"Oi!" Toshinori's head snapped up to where the call had come from. He saw Bakugou hanging off the side of the building he'd been thrown into before. "For the record I know I can't beat you on my own." A smirk once again made its way onto his face as Toshinori felt a hand firmly press itself onto his lower back. He felt gravity leave him as he began to float. He was so dumbfounded at Uraraka's sudden intrusion that he did nothing as he was pushed in Bakugou's general direction and the blast from his second gauntlet blew him far away from either of his students. He couldn't help but feel somewhat proud even as he wracked his brain as to the best way to stop his students from getting to the gate.
Ochako watched as Katsuki landed heavily beside her, dropping to one knee as a pained look crossed his face. She quickly rushed to his side to help him up. He gave her a brief grateful look before his normal, angry expression came back. "He got you pretty good huh? Wan't me to use my quirk on you too?" She asked.
Katsuki shook his head. "No save it in case he manages to get back over here. I'll be fucking fine. This is nothing I can't handle." He answered, avoiding looking at her face as the two of them made their way to the exit.
Ochako hummed but said nothing more. She knew her classmate well enough by now that she didn't want to push him. "I'm a little surprised that worked so well though. I thought All Might wouldn't fall for something like that." She pondered.
Katsuki looked offended momentarily. "Of course it fucking worked. All Might is a great fucking hero but he's new to teaching. Probably figured I'd pull something like that so he rolled with it." Katsuki huffed, annoyed. "People always fucking assume I'll resort to violence. But I know when to and when not to. I'm not a fucking idiot."
Ochako studied him for a moment. She could see why people would make that assumption, but if you actually knew Katsuki you'd know that wasn't true. As they passed through the gate and she dropped off Katsuki with Recovery Girl, she couldn't help but let her thoughts stay on her explosion-welding classmate.
Even though he had plenty of anger behind his earlier statement she could see a small amount of hurt in his eyes. It was well hidden and if she hadn't been so close to him then she would have never noticed it. At first she'd thought Katsuki was an overconfident jerk but as she got to know him more that assumption was proved completely wrong. She'd heard how he'd protected others during the USJ; going so far as to go against the nomu. Though it wasn't really until the sports festival that she got a real feel for who he was. The last thing she'd expected from him was to work with others, but when she saw him working with the others during the obstacle course and cavalry battle she'd been proved wrong. Also the fact that he'd approached her about Iida and that he'd even encouraged her in their fight had her seriously rethinking her opinions of him. She learned that he cared for their class; even if he didn't show it.
One of her class' favorite pieces of gossip was that Katsuki had actual friends outside of the class. Kaminari had of course been the one to start this rumor so no one had believed it at first. After the sports festival they'd all started believing it. He had seemed to genuinely care for his friends, in his own way. Though the one he seemed closest to was the green-haired student from general education. Several members of the class had caught the two walking home together and it was rare to not see them together at lunch. No matter how much the self proclaimed "bakusquad" tried to get him to eat lunch with them he always refused. At first they shamelessly spied on them but after some time they gave up on that; though they still tried to convince him to join them for lunch on occasion.
Ochako hummed as she walked to the changing room to get out of her costume. Katsuki was a complicated person to figure out, but she couldn't stop herself from wanting to know more about him.
Izuku flopped face down on the couch and groaned. He heard Shinsou and Hatsume's chuckles and Katsuki's outright laughter. "I don't know why you're so fucking tired Deku. You didn't have to do a fucking physical portion. Let alone have to go against All Might himself." Katsuki managed after his laughter had calmed down.
"It doesn't mean our exams weren't mentally taxing Kacchan." Izuku replied, his voice muffled by the couch.
Katsuki rolled his eyes, not that Izuku could see it. "Whatever nerd. Just saying you didn't have to do nearly as much as me." With that Katsuki walked off into the kitchen.
"I for one really enjoyed my exams!" Hatsume said as she plopped down on the couch next to Izuku. "My babies did wonderfully." She smiled.
Shinsou poked Izuku as he groaned again and got up. He looked at Hatsume. "Why am I not surprised that you enjoyed them? How many of them blew up?"
Hatsume's grin didn't waver. "Only two!"
Izuku hummed. "Well you're getting better."
Shinsou snorted and shook his head, a smile on his face. After that silence fell over them. Only the sounds of pots and pans coming from the kitchen broke the silence.
"It feels weird not going out on patrol tonight. Me and Kacchan rarely miss patrols." Izuku suddenly spoke up.
Shinsou shrugged as he sat down in a chair. "Eraser said we were to take the night off to rest. He didn't want us overworking ourselves."
Izuku frowned slightly. "You know he acts kinda like our dad sometimes huh?"
Shinsou opened his mouth as if to say something before closing it and thinking. "You know you're kinda right."
"I'm surprised he hasn't tried to fucking adopt us yet." Came Katsuki's insight from where he was preparing dinner in the kitchen.
Izuku put a hand on his chin. "Do you think he'd even want to? Sure he acts like a parent to us but actually being a parent is a whole other story. Besides we're in a stable enough situation..." Izuku devolved into mostly unintelligible mumbles as he thought over the possibility.
Hitoshi made no attempt to stop Izuku as he mumbled to himself. Would Aizawa even want to? Like Izuku said he did already kinda act like a parent to them; even before he'd found out who they were for sure he'd acted like that. It had apparently been like that for years with just Katsuki and Izuku.
He thought back to his own living situation. It wasn't terrible by any means but it wasn't great. He'd definitely been in worse situations before so he was actually thankful for his current one. He'd been in the foster care system for most of his life, and with a quirk like his he got bounced around from place to place a lot. Most places he'd spent time at were… less than great. Currently he was pretty much ignored and allowed to do as he pleased as long as he didn't get in trouble. Hitoshi knew his current "caretaker" only did it for the money, but he was technically taken care of so he couldn't complain too much.
Since meeting Izuku and Katsuki he'd been staying with them a lot and it had been really nice. He actually felt like he was part of a family? He'd honestly forgotten what that was like. A small smile creeped onto his face. Hatsume looked over at him and smiled as well. As weird as she was she always seemed to get what they were all thinking. Hitoshi sat back in his chair as the wonderful smell of Katsuki's cooking filled the apartment. He could get used to feeling like this.
Izuku, Katsuki, and Shinsou all were walking side by side to UA. While this wouldn't be considered odd normally, they were currently walking there on a day off. Aizawa had told them to meet him there and bring their vigilante gear, but hadn't told them why. As they approached the gates they saw Aizawa waiting for them. "Good you're all here. Now let's get going. We don't want to be late."
Izuku watched his retreating back, confused. "Aizawa? What exactly are we doing?" He asked.
Aizawa stopped and glanced over his shoulder. "Just follow me problem child." So the three of them followed him as he led them deeper into the city. They stopped at a large building that had nothing on the outside that gave away what it was for. Aizawa entered the building and the three were quick to follow. He walked up to a receptionist inside and began speaking to him. He gestured to the three a couple times before the receptionist nodded and walked through a door with a clipboard in hand.
Aizawa walked back over to them. "Alright what the fuck is going on Eraser?" Katsuki asked, eyes narrowing as he crossed his arms.
Aizawa crossed his own arms and returned his gaze and gestured to another door to their left. "Go get 'll want to be in costume for this." He replied instead of an actual answer.
"But, why?" Shinsou asked.
Aizawa smiled. "So you three can get your provisional licenses of course. Now get moving. They won't wait for you."
