AN: WHO ELSE IS EXCITED?

OH! I wanted to mention that there is another third person's POV, and if you couldn't tell, it's when Merlin goes to see Kilgharrah again.

Disclaimer: I do not own Merlin in any way, shape, or form! I do own Elizabeth Malinor and any other characters I make up!

Enjoy!

"Morgana, I don't know about this," I whispered as we walked through the forest.

Apparently, Morgana had received a note this morning, asking that her and I meet this person in the woods after sunset. For some stupid reason, I let her convince me to go along with it.

"What are you so worried about?" She whispered back.

"We don't even know who this person is!" I protested. "What if it's someone wanting to hurt us?"

"I don't think that's what this is," Morgana answered, and once we got into the thick of the woods, we waited for whoever the person was.

I felt a presence behind me, so I turned around, and gasped when I saw Morgause. I mean, I knew that I had said that the last time I saw Morgause wasn't going to be the actual last time I saw her, but I didn't think that she'd try to seek Morgana and I out. She probably knew that we were all sisters, too.

"Morgause," I breathed, and Morgana spun around when she heard me say her name.

Morgause smiled as she came over and took both of our hands. "You two look well."

"Thanks to you," Morgana filled in. She looked down at her healing bracelet, and then my own. "We wear them all the time."

I nodded in agreement. "We can't remember the last time we had a bad dream."

Morgause's face turned into one of worry at the look in Morgana's. "But you do not seem happy, Morgana. Why's that?"

"I would be," Morgana bit. "If I didn't have to pretend."

"Pretend?" Morgause asked.

"That I am Uther's loving ward when I hate him," Morgana explained.

Morgause looked over at me. "Do you feel the same?"

I stammered. "Uther is not the kindest King in the world," I managed.

Morgause let go of our hands as she walked forward. "Have you ever imagined a new world, Morgana, Elizabeth? One where Uther was no more?"

My heart skipped a beat. Like I said before, Uther wasn't the nicest King, and sometimes I thought that Camelot would be better off if Arthur was already ruling, but Arthur wasn't ready to take on being King yet.

"Sometimes," Morgana answered.

"And is that what you'd like?" Morgause asked us.

"I once had the chance to be his assassin," Morgana revealed, and my mind flashed back to the episode.

"And what stopped you?" Morgause asked.

"I don't know," Morgana answered. "I believed that he cared for me. But not anymore. He cares for no one."

"So you want Uther destroyed and his reign to end?" Morgause asked.

Morgana grabbed my hand, and nodded her head. "We want that more than anything."

Wow, thanks for giving me the chance to answer, Morgana. I guess it was because she was so used to the two of us thinking the exact same thing (and trust me, it was scary sometimes) that she'd just assume that I wanted the same thing this time. I didn't exactly want Uther to die, just, not really be King anymore. But I guess that couldn't happen without his death, could it?

But still. I would never kill Arthur's father. I knew it would hurt him too much.

"But it doesn't matter what we want," Morgana continued. "The future is not of my making."

"You are wrong, Morgana," Morgause said with a shake of her head. "You underestimate your importance, the both of you," She continued, nodding at me as well. "The decisions you make now, will change the shape of everything that is to come."

Then I could totally change the prophecy, now couldn't I?

"What do you mean?" I asked, finally speaking up.

"Whose side are you two on?" Morgause asked. "Are you with Uther, or are you with me? Are you prepared to help me bring about his downfall?"

Morgana squeezed my hand, and, without so much as looking at me for confirmation, said, "We are."

Hold up!

But when I opened my mouth, I couldn't bring myself to speak. I knew that I hated that Uther killed mine and Morgana and Merlin's kind, but I didn't know that I hated it that much. I didn't want him to die either, but there was literally just something inside of me that wouldn't allow me to protest.

Morgause smiled widely as she came over to us. "I can't tell you how much it means to hear you two say that," Morgause said, using her hands to cup one of mine and Morgana's cheeks.

Suddenly, Morgause looked over at me, and her eyes flashed gold. Before I knew it, I felt myself going dizzy and seeing black and that was the last thing I remembered as I fell to the floor.

I woke up the next morning in my own bed. I looked around myself confusingly. Wasn't I just in the forest?

"Good morning, my Lady," Gwen said as she walked in. "Elizabeth?" Gwen tried again when she realized how spaced out I was acting.

I snapped my attention to Gwen. "Good morning, Gwen," I said as I looked down at my sheets. It looked like I was in bed all night.

"Did you sleep well?" Gwen asked as she yawned.

I smiled a little. "Better than you, it would seem."

She shook herself of the sleepiness. "I'm sorry."

I shook my head. "Don't be, it's fine."

"Come, let's get you dressed," She said as she went over to my closet.

Throughout the day, Gwen just kept getting worse, so I sent her off to Gaius to see what was wrong with her, despite her protests.

But for the rest of the day, the entire Kingdom began falling asleep. The Knights, the guards, the servants, Gwen, Gaius, even Uther. Morgana and I were the only ones awake.

"Why are we the only ones awake?" She asked as she looked out the window in my bedroom.

"I don't know," I answered. "I don't even know what's going on. Everyone is the Kingdom besides us are asleep."

"So what do we do?" She asked as she turned away from the window and walked over to me.

I lifted my shoulder. "The best thing we can do right now is wait for Arthur and Merlin to come back from their quest thing, whatever they went on. Maybe with more of us awake, we can figure out a problem. And Merlin's being trained by Gaius in medicine, maybe he knows something."

"Right," She said as she began to pace.

"Morgana, calm down," I said as I walked over to her and grabbed her arms. "You are going to worry yourself sick and then you too will fall asleep and I will be alone."

There was a sudden noise coming from the hallway, and we both stiffened. I grabbed Morgana's hand, and pushed her behind a curtain. "Stay there," I commanded.

"But what about you?" She hissed.

"Doesn't matter, just don't come out," I told her as I ran to my bed. I dropped to my knees, and stuck my hand underneath it. I patted the ground a couple of times until my hand grabbed what I was looking for, and I pulled out the sword that Uther insisted I kept in my chambers in case I ever needed it. I unsheathed it, and held it out in front of me in a battle stance as the door opened. I was about to swing, when I saw that it was Arthur in front of me.

"Arthur!" I yelped as I changed my direction last minute, instead hitting my closet and making a nice dent in it.

"Elizabeth!" Arthur said as he stared at me pulling out my sword.

"Arthur?" Morgana said as she walked out of the hiding spot.

"Morgana?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.

"Merlin!" Merlin called out, putting his hands out. Poor guy must have felt left out.

Arthur just shook his head at him. "What's happened?" He asked as he gestured to outside.

"People were complaining that they were sick," I started. "And then, out of nowhere, they all began dropping like flies! They all fell asleep!"

"Was someone here?" He asked.

"No," I said. "I was just afraid that there was someone out there because everyone else was asleep. I told Morgana to hide and grabbed my sword, it was my first instinct."

"Where's my father?" He asked.

I shook my head. "I don't know. When everyone started falling asleep, Morgana and I hid in my chambers."

"Do you know anything else?" He demanded. "You're awake, you or Morgana must have seen something."

"We didn't see anything," I pleaded. "We were in here the whole time!"

"You saw people getting sick. What did you do?" He accused.

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "I didn't do anything!"

"I don't understand," He said. "Why is it that you and Morgana are the only people awake?"

"How are we to know?" I retorted. "Trust us Arthur, we have no idea what's going on here, either."

Arthur hesitated, but sighed. "Come, we must find my father and get him somewhere safe."

We all nodded, and headed out the door. Arthur took the lead, and Merlin, Morgana, and I fell behind.

"Don't worry, I won't say anything," Merlin said to the two of us.

"About what?" Morgana asked.

"The illness," Merlin replied.

"That has nothing to do with us," Morgana dismissed.

"No, but the two of you have magic," He said, dropping his voice.

"You haven't told anyone that," I said, more than a statement than a a question, because if he had, I was going to be very pissed off because I'd been keeping his magic a secret since the beginning.

"No, and I won't tell Arthur," Merlin promised. "There must be something keeping the two of you safe, and I think that must be it."

"I guess I never really thought of it like that," I said. That made a lot of sense, actually.

"I've found him!" Arthur's voice interrupted us, and the three of us ran off to where Arthur's voice was coming from.

Uther was in his chambers, and Arthur was holding him upright in his chair at his table when we walked in. "Father?"

"See? He's all right," Merlin said.

Arthur looked at him in disbelief and turned his father's face to Merlin's direction. "He's not all right!"

"He's just asleep," Merlin pointed out. Arthur rolled his eyes as he let Uther fall back on the table. "All we have to do is find a cure, a way to wake them," Merlin suggested.

"Who could have done this?" Arthur asked.

I had a feeling I knew who it was.

Arthur looked over at Morgana and I. "You two are the only ones who haven't been affected. There must be a reason."

Morgana and I looked at each other worriedly, before turning to Merlin to see what excuse he could come up with.

"We don't know," Morgana replied calmly.

"That's all you keep saying!" Arthur exclaimed, and we both slightly flinched. "You must know something."

"Arthur, if we had known something, we would have told you by now!" I protested. "They all just fell asleep, one by one!"

"It's obvious!" Merlin said, once again saving our lives. "When they started feeling sick, Gaius gave them a potion, right?"

"When were they sick? They never said that," Arthur questioned.

"You two were already gone by the time it had started to take effect for us," I filled in. "We were some of the last people to be effected."

Merlin nodded. "Somehow the potion must've helped."

"What about everyone else?" Arthur asked.

Damn. Arthur was smarter than I ever gave him credit for.

Merlin hesitated until he came up with a new answer. "By then, Gaius was too ill. He didn't have the chance to treat anyone else."

"Go and see if you can find this potion," Arthur told Merlin.

Okay, maybe he wasn't all that smart if he believed that lie.

"I'll search for signs of life in the lower town," Arthur said as Merlin ran off. "Elizabeth, Morgana, you two stay here and keep my father safe."

I nodded, pulling out my own sword from when I had it before. Arthur took out Uther's sword, and handed it to Morgana. "You protect him with your life, understand?"

We both nodded, and Arthur left. Morgana seemed very shell shocked by everything, and I just had this growing pit of fear in my stomach, like something else was going on, something terrible.

Now, back trace, Elizabeth. This all started the morning after Morgana and I had visited Morgause. Morgause was talking about how she wanted to end Uther's reign. How was putting the citizens of Camelot going to do that?

After maybe ten minutes (which Morgana and I spent in silence, both of us thinking way too hard), Arthur and Merlin burst back into the room. "This is the first place they'll look, we have to move him," Arthur said as he and Merlin went over to Uther and started picking him up.

"What's going on?" Morgana asked as she stood up from the chair she was previously sitting in.

"We're under attack," Arthur answered. "No time to explain." He grabbed his father from under his shoulders and lifted. "Grab him legs, carry him," Arthur told Merlin.

Oh. That's how putting the citizens of Camelot to sleep was going to do that.

Merlin was obviously struggling with carrying him, and Arthur grew frustrated. "You're not mean to be sweeping the floor with him, pick his feet up!"

"His feet aren't the problem!" Merlin retorted, implying that Uther was very heavy.

"Morgana, give him a hand," Arthur said to her, who put her sword down as she reached down to grab one of Uther's legs. "Elizabeth, you take the lead and be prepared to fight if you need to."

I nodded and held my sword out in front of me as I went in front of Morgana and Merlin.

They managed to get Uther out into the hall, and I guess Merlin was smirking or something because Arthur hissed, "It is not funny, Merlin."

After a few more steps, he spoke up, "Did you find the potion Morgana and Elizabeth took?"

I felt my back stiffen slightly, but Merlin covered for us as he said, "Uh, no."

I opened the doors to one of the spare rooms and held it open for my friends as they dragged Uther inside. I shut and locked the door behind us as they dropped Uther to the ground, obviously tired from having to carry him so far.

"We can't leave him here," Arthur said. "We have to lift him on to the bed."

"Why?" Merlin asked. "He's asleep, he's not going to know."

"Merlin!" Arthur exclaimed.

"Well, I'll get him a pillow!" Merlin offered as he ran over to the bed, and I had to hold back my smirk at his reaction.

"He's the King!" Arthur protested.

"All right, two pillows!" Merlin answered. He came back over, and he and Arthur put the pillows behind Uther. However, when they stood up, it was a sluggish action, and my stomach began to sink.

"Are you all right?" Merlin asked Arthur.

"You feeling the same?" Arthur asked him back.

"We're getting sick," Merlin deduced.

"We can't let that happen," Arthur insisted. "We must keep my father hidden."

"Why don't we disguise him?" Merlin suggested.

"That might just work!" Arthur agreed.

"We could dress him as a woman," Merlin suggested, which didn't bode well with Arthur.

"That, on the other hand..."

"We could dress him as a servant," Merlin offered instead.

"That's better," Arthur said.

"I'll get him some clothes," Merlin said quickly as he was out the door.

"Be careful!" I called out after him, and he gave me a nod in return.

"It is one thing to cast a spell that puts everyone to sleep," Kilgharrah began after Merlin had come to him, begging for help. "The power to maintain it is a very different matter. It will need more than just words to break the enchantment."

"What do you mean?" Merlin asked.

"You must eradicate the source," Kilgharrah explained.

"Great! What is that?" Merlin asked.

"Not 'what', but who," Kilgharrah revealed. "Such spells need a vessel. A constant living presence to give them strength. The source of this pestilence is the Seer, the Lady Elizabeth."

Merlin's stomach dropped all the way to the floor. "It can't be. Elizabeth would never harm Camelot."

"That is true," Kilgharrah agreed. "But she is easily influenced. She has been tricked into becoming the vessel for this spell, yet she is unaware of it."

"Well, how do I stop her?" Merlin asked, fear creeping up inside of him.

"That is easy, young warlock," Kilgharrah answered. "You must kill her."

Merlin stepped back as if the words had burned him. "No! I won't!"

"The spell is woven with magic of such power that even you are not immune," Kilgharrah stated. "You must act now, before it's too late."

"I cannot do that to her," Merlin said fiercely. "I won't!"

"I understand that you have feelings for her, young warlock, feelings that you may not even realize," Kilgharrah said. "But all of Camelot is not worth it."

"She is worth everything to me!" Merlin roared. "You said it yourself, she didn't do this intentionally, she was tricked! Does she deserve to die for it?"

"No, she does not," Kilgharrah said. "But the action has already been taken, it is too late. If you do not stop her, then Camelot will fall and Arthur will die. And the future you were destined to share, will die with you."

"But you said that Elizabeth was intertwined with our destiny as well!" Merlin tried again, anything to dispel the horrible truth that he wouldn't let himself agree to. "How can she do that if she is dead?"

"How do you know that this isn't where her destiny is supposed to end?" Kilgharrah asked. "You must do it, young warlock. For your sake, her sake, and Camelot's."

"Are you two all right?" Arthur asked us. "You seem quiet."

"We're fine," Morgana said quickly.

I looked over to the door. "I'm gonna go keep watch," I offered, and left before the situation made me sweat even more.

After a few minutes, Arthur came outside and told me that he was going to see what was taking Merlin so long. I nodded, and told him that I'd stay outside and keep watch. He told me to be careful, and then he was gone.

I found myself pacing outside of the door as I tried to think of what else happened with Morgause. All I could remember was her putting a hand to my cheek, and then I passed out, and from there I couldn't remember a single thing.

I was so lost in my own thoughts that I didn't see Merlin coming over to the door until he was right in front of me. "Thank God, you're safe," I breathed as I leaped forward and gave him a hug. When Merlin didn't immediately hug me back, I knew something was wrong. However, this was not the time to worry about it, so I pulled back and pulled him inside of the room. "Where's Arthur?" I asked as we came in.

"They're here, they're in the castle," Merlin explained as he went over to Uther. "Arthur's gone to find somewhere safe to move to."

"Thank you for not saying anything to him," Morgana said.

"That's all right," Merlin said distractedly.

There was something wrong with him. I knew Merlin almost as well as I knew myself. "No, really, you're a true friend, Merlin."

The door opened, and Arthur ran in. "We have to move my father before Morgause gets here," He said as he ran over to his dad.

"Morgause," Morgana breathed, and she looked over at me. We both knew the same thing, then, I just came to the conclusion a lot faster than she did.

"Come on, let's go!" Arthur demanded as Morgana grabbed one of Uther's legs and I took out my sword and went to the front again.

We got Uther into a servant's chambers, and they deposited Uther on to the bed. "We should be safe in here for a while," Arthur said.

He and Merlin both sat down, the energy beginning to drain from them. I fell to my knees next to Merlin and put my hand on his arm. "Hey, you need to stay awake, okay?"

He seemed tense, but nodded.

Morgana and I were still unaffected by the spell, and Merlin could only stare at the too of us oddly.

"Must be the potion that Gaius gave them," Arthur said.

"Yeah, must be the potion," Merlin agreed, though there was something in his tone that rubbed me in the wrong way.

"We can't keep this up much longer," Arthur pointed out.

"I know," Merlin agreed. "We're in a servant's quarters. If we leave him here, they'll think he's a servant."

Arthur shook his head. "Not if Morgause sees him. We need to get him out of Camelot."

"When we arrived, there was a cart in the main square," Merlin said to Arthur. "Remember?"

"You, are full of good ideas today, Merlin," Arthur said as he patted Merlin on the shoulder. "You go and look."

While Merlin went to check to see if the cart was still there, Morgana, Arthur, and I fashioned a sled out of a sheet to try and move Uther better.

"They're closing in!" Merlin announced as he ran back in. "We're not going to make it to the cart, not carrying Uther."

"That's why we've made this," Arthur said, gesturing to the sled. "We're going to pull him."

Arthur went to check if the coast was clear, but ran back inside with a semi frightful look on his face. "Get down and keep quiet," He said as he pulled out his sword and hid behind the door. Merlin, Morgana, and I hid behind another door.

The main door to the chambers opened, and heavy footsteps echoed in the hall as one of the Knights of Medhir walked in. When it came into view, Arthur jumped out of his hiding spot and swung at it. The two of them immediately engaged into a fight, and Arthur yelled, "Protect the King! Get him out of here!"

Morgana and Merlin each grabbed one corner as they began dragging Uther out of the room, and I took the front to try and see if I could protect us from any more of the Knights. Of course, one of them appeared in the hall that we turned in, and as the only person with free hands, I gestured for Merlin and Morgana to keep going. "You heard Arthur! Protect the King!"

Reluctantly, Morgana and Merlin both continued to pull Uther away as I took the first swing at the Knight. We clashed our swords a few times until he managed to disarm me, being far stronger and more skilled, and I dropped to the ground in fear. I began crawling backwards to try and get away from him, but when my back hit the corner of the wall, I knew I was trapped.

I screamed as the Knight raised his sword to strike me down, but he stopped himself when the sword was a couple of inches away from my neck. He tilted his head to the side slightly, before pulling his sword away from me and leaving me alone, going back after Merlin again.

What the hell was that?

No time to waste thinking about it. I pulled myself to my feet just as Arthur made it into the hallway that I was in.

"Are you okay?" He asked as I picked my sword up.

"I'm fine, let's go!" I brushed off.

We ran down the hall again, and it looked like Merlin and Morgana were about to be toast when Arthur struck down the Knight that was about to attack them, sending him down the stairs where hopefully we've stalled him long enough.

The closest room we could find was the council room, so we dragged Uther inside of it. Arthur and Merlin grabbed the big bar thing that served as the lock, and set it in place on the door.

"Elizabeth, Morgana, we need the remedy that Gaius gave you," Arthur said again as he and Merlin leaned against the door, struggling to keep upright.

"We don't have it!" Morgana insisted.

"I know that," Arthur said. "But you must remember what it was, what was in it."

"We wouldn't know, we aren't physicians," I insisted as I gestured to Morgana.

"Besides that, it doesn't matter," Merlin gasped. "We can't get it now. We're trapped."

"There has to be something we can do," Arthur said. "Unless we cure ourselves, I don't see how we'll survive this."

"We have to destroy the source of the magic," Merlin revealed.

"Which is?" Arthur asked.

I swear Merlin looked at me for a second before he said, "I don't know."

"Then our only chance is to get out of Camelot," Arthur decided. "Help me with my father."

Morgana grabbed one end as Arthur grabbed the other, and the two of them dragged him over to where his throne was. "You cut the blanket up, we'll tie it to my father and we'll lower him on to the...Morgana?" Arthur said.

My head snapped over to where Morgana was, and she put a hand to her forehead. Before we could do anything, her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she collapsed right on top of Uther.

"Morgana!" I called worriedly, dropping down next to her. I grabbed her by her shoulders and tried shaking her, but she had succumbed to the spell. What had taken so long?

"She's asleep," I said regrettably.

"Then we must work faster," Arthur said. "Elizabeth, you cut the blanket up, okay?"

I nodded, and moved down next to Uther to try and cut the material up as Arthur grabbed Merlin and walked him over to the doors. "I'll fetch the cart round to the window."

"You're going out there?" Merlin asked him.

Arthur was practically passing out on the door, so Merlin said, "I'll come with you."

"No!" Arthur protested. "You stay, you protect my father."

"You won't reach the cart alone," Merlin pointed out. "It's suicide."

"We have no choice," Arthur also pointed out.

"How are you feeling?" Merlin asked him.

"Not bad," He answered, though it was a total lie.

"You sure?"

"Yeah. You?"

"Never better."

"Get me a pillow, could you?" Arhur asked.

"Don't mess around," Merlin said. "Arthur? You...Arthur, you need to stay awake."

I looked over at the two men and saw that Arthur was practically asleep.

Thinking it was his only option, Merlin gave Arthur a firm slap on the face. I'd admit, it worked, but it wasn't the most nice way. "Merlin!" Arthur exclaimed.

"That's better," He said.

"If you ever do that again..." Arthur began the threat as he pulled the canteen off of Merlin.

The canteen...there was something about it. Something that was tugging in the back of my mind.

"Well, don't fall asleep, then!" Merlin said.

Arthur poured some of the water on his face in hopes that it would wake him up. There was a sudden growling sound coming from outside, and the two of them backed up from the doors.

"That your knees again?" Arthur asked Merlin, though it wasn't something that I understood.

With Merlin's help, Arthur was able to get the lock off of the door. Arthur leaned against the door one last time, preparing his strength. "If I ever need a servant in the next life..." Arthur began.

"Don't ask me," Merlin finished, and I could help a tiny smile at their joke. Arthur drew his sword, and then stepped outside to fight. Merlin quickly went over and put the lock back on.

"He won't survive out there, you know that, right?" I asked Merlin.

"I know," Merlin said.

"Then we have to do something! We can't just let him die!" I protested. "Maybe you can use your magic."

"I've tried, nothing's worked," Merlin said. "Like I said before, the only way to stop them is to get rid of the source."

"Like we're gonna find the source trapped in here!" I said as I walked over to Uther to get back to tearing. The idea finally hit me as I sat down.

I was the source.

It all made sense. I could faintly remember Morgause performing a spell before I passed out, and I was the only person that still seemed fine. Morgana was even asleep, for heavens sake.

"I'll make some rope," Merlin offered as I jolted out of my shock. I cleared my throught as I started the tearing, the guilt sitting in my stomach.

It would explain why the knight didn't kill me when he had the chance. He knew that if he killed me, he would die too. I couldn't believe that I had let this happen.

It was when Merlin was holding the canteen thing that the memory was jolted back into me. It must have been a strong memory. Looking at it brought back a scene from the episode. And that scene was, Merlin had to poison Morgana to lift the spell. But Morgana wasn't the one that was the source. I was.

I choked back tears that started forming. Merlin turned around and held out the canteen. "Here, have some water."

I stared at the canteen, knowing that it was filled with poison. Call me selfish, but I shook my head. "I'm fine, I'm not thirsty."

I could tell that it was absolutely breaking Merlin's heart to do this as it broke mine to even have to put him in this position, but he kept his emotions well hidden as he said, "If we get out of here, you may not get any to drink."

I was about to say something when the two of us heard Arthur screaming. I turned around and winced at the sound. Merlin handed me the canteen as he went to the door, but I dropped it to the ground as if it were on fire.

Merlin checked at the door, then came back. He picked up the canteen thing from beside me, and turned his back to me. He pretended to drink it, then held it out in front of me. "Here."

I shook my head as I held back tears. I knew I had to do it, but I didn't want to die. Who wanted to die? "I'm fine," I choked.

"No, you have to have some before I finish it," Merlin said.

That was when it finally hit me. This was all my fault. I could have prevented everything that was happening if I had told Morgause to bugger off when Morgana and I had gone to see her, or I could have not gone to see her altogether. Camelot, Arthur, and most importantly, Merlin were all in danger because of me.

And I think that's what made me reach out and take the canteen from Merlin's hand. Death wasn't so bad, was it? I mean, I was nearly died last year, and I remembered it to be not that bad. I took the cap thing off, and looked into the tainted water. I lifted the bottle up to Merlin. "Cheers," I said in a choked voice.

Merlin turned away so he didn't have to watch. I closed my eyes, a tear finally managing to escape me, and I drank from the water.

At first, I felt fine. Like there was nothing but water in there. I put the cap back on and quickly cast the canteen to the side. Then I kept tying up Uther as if nothing happened, when the burning started.

At first it was just in the back of my throat, but it started to quickly escalate. I coughed slightly, as if that would get rid of it. But it didn't. It only made it worse. Merlin finally turned around as I rubbed at my throat, almost as if I could claw the poison out of my throat. I kept coughing to try and rid the fire, but it only lead me to start gasping for air as the intense pain caused my airways to start closing.

Tears escaped freely down my face now, some from burning in my eyes, but most from sadness at the look on my best friend's-and quite possibly the guy that I had major feelings for's-face. It was full of such sadness, such regret. Okay, so some of them were from the thought that I could actually die. My face started going red as my eyes widened, as if I were shocked. I really wasn't, but I had to look it, or Merlin would suspect something.

Merlin fell to the ground next to me, and I didn't struggle when he took me into his arms. I just let Merlin pull me to him, and I sat in the arms of my best friend as he rocked me back and forth, and as the flames inched their way closer to my heart.

Tears kept flowing down my face, and I felt Merlin's tears falling down onto my cheeks. I turned to look up at him, my airways getting even more clogged. His face looked like it was etched into permanent regret. I wanted to close my eyes, to sooth the burning, but I was afraid if I closed them I'd never open them again.

Maybe ten seconds after Merlin took me into his arms, the door busted open and Morgause ran in. She saw me in Merlin's arms, sweating bullets and gasping from poison, and took me right out of his arms. I really just wanted to be held by Merlin right now, but I couldn't make the effort to move to him.

"What has he done to you?" Morgause asked worriedly, stroking hair away from my face. I had my eyes partially closed, so it looked like I was passed out already. I felt like it, either way.

"I had to," Merlin protested.

Morgause assessed my body for a bit, before she drew her conclusion. "You poisoned her," She stated in disbelief.

Merlin stood up confidently. "You gave me no choice," He stated.

"Tell me what you used and I can save her," Morgause demanded. Really, if it meant that I didn't have to suffer anymore I'd rather be dead. I had such a new respect for Merlin who had to suffer almost two days of this crap when he was poisoned by Nimueh.

"First, stop the attack!" Merlin commanded.

"You're just a simple servant, you don't tell me what to do!" She exclaimed.

"If you want to know what poison it is, you will undo the magic that drives the Knights," Merlin insisted.

"Tell me the poison or you'll die!" Morgause threatened.

"Then she'll die with me," Merlin stated plainly, his voice cracking at the end.

Morgause didn't say anything. She just leaned her forehead on mine. I tried to call for Merlin, but what came out was just a noise that no human could ever make, as the flames licked at my throat.

"I don't want this any more than you. But you give me no choice. Stop the knights, and you can save her," Merlin repeated.

Morgause didn't say anything, but began chanting. Stopping the knights, I presumed.

Merlin handed Morgause the poison, and someone ran in.

"What have you done with my father?" Arthur's voice demanded.

"Merlin..." I tried to say, but again, a gargling noise came out.

"He's safe," Merlin said.

Sure enough, I heard Uther groaning in the background.

"Elizabeth," Arthur's voice called out to me.

"Keep away from her!" Morgause demanded. Morgause muttered a quick spell, and I suddenly felt another body pressed up against me. By the material of their clothing, I could faintly tell that it was a dress, so it could only be the sleeping form of Morgana. Morgause began chanting again, although I didn't exactly know why. The Knights had been stopped.

Morgause finished her chant, and a huge gust of wind picked up around us. I turned my head using all my strength, and I opened my eyes to get one last glimpse of Merlin's face as wind and black surrounded Morgause, Morgana and I, finally sending me into unconsciousness.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SHIT!

Literally I had that last scene written two years ago. That is how long I've been planning this surprise.

LITERALLY THIS MAKES SEASON 3 SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING, THAT'S WHY I'VE BEEN SO EXCITED FOR IT!

Unfortunately, with Elizabeth wandering Morgauseland, she can't be there for the Last Dragonlord, so we're going to have to skip that episode. But it'll be the only episode I'm planning on skipping.

And instead of an episode, I'm planning another thing for a chapter, we'll just have to see if I can force myself to do it.

Now, how will being under the harsh influence of Morgause and Morgana's evil affect our Heroine?

Find out in Season 3 of I've Got the Magic in Me!
