Ares is not the ruthless and terrible god the stories perceive him as. He can be amazing and kind and sweet and funny and loving. But only if you have his love and trust. He used to be this way with Aphrodite but things change. Ares may be the god of war but all wars come to an end and after war you go home to the people you love and who love you. But Ares does not get to end wars and then go home to the people who love him. He goes home to the goddess of lust and sectual love. Aphrodite does not love him for him, she loves him for his looks and for that he is angry.

But he will not tell her these things because who knows what lies the goddess of love can make. Who knows what she can whisper in the king's ears to punish the god of war. For she is a sinister goddess and knows how to get her way. She knows how to get the things she wants with a lustful whisper and Ares knows this all too well. For he was one of the hundred who fell for her lustful whisper has paid for it.

And the stories might say that Ares is happy with Aphrodite but that is not the truth. No, he is not happy and not being happy is what angers him and being angry angers him more. That is why he is angry and ruthless and terrible because nobody sees his sadness. Well except one goddess.

Nemesis is told to be a ruthless goddess who shows anger on any mortal that commits hubris on the gods. Said to not have any feelings after being born to Nyx and Erebus. Having brought what is deserved upon people and what needs to be done. But that is not the woman she always is. She sees that revenge is done to those who deserve it. To those who have wronged others and she sees that it is taken care of.

Nemesis can also have love and kindness and feelings. But only for the ones she loves and has her trust. For she is scared to be hurt just like other goddesses have been. So she keeps to herself and does not seek love.

And the stories may say that Nemesis is happy and living her best life but that is true. No, she is not happy and lonely and for being unhappy and lonely drove her to only seek revenge is mortals and not the good in the ones around her. But nobody sees her sadness. Well except one god.

Ares and Nemesis were in a secret relationship for years. Together they loved each other like no one thought they could. It was hard with Apollo around, the god of truth had a big mouth. Aphrodite could never know, her lies would get them both killed. And the other gods would laugh at them and tell them it's fake love.

But they knew it wasn't. Ares always came to Nemesis after battle instead of Aphrodite. He really was only with Aphrodite when she asked where he spent all his time. Nemesis always went to Ares after a hard day of being the judge of who gets the hard or easy revenge. She never got upset when he came home every few nights upset he slept with Aphrodite.

Nemesis would never forget how the first time he saw her after cheating he started to show emotions. He got on his knees and held her hands as his face layed on her stomach. Begging for the forgiveness he already had but he always wanted to hear her say it. She knew he was upset the whole world couldn't know they were together but it had to be that way.

It was common knowledge between the two of them that they both wanted a family. Ares wanted to be the best father he could be and Nemesis wanted to be the best mom she could be. Neither of them wanted to be like other parents on Olympus. They wanted to love and support their children, if they ever had any.

They never thought they would have children because of them being in a secret relationship but nothing happens the way they want it. The Fates work in mysterious ways. Maybe they wanted the whole world to know they were together or maybe they just wanted a good laugh or some drama. No matter what they got what they wanted.

Thick black hair was tied in a low bun at the base of a woman's neck. Her face was so clear it was like a statue of a goddess. The only colorful thing on her face was the bright red lipstick she had on. Her ears held long diamond earrings that would cost millions. Her neck was aligned with a diamond necklace that was as much as the earrings. Her dress was black and held tight to her body. It easily exposed all her curves and showed off her flat chest and toned muscles. It wrapped around her neck and was held together by a thin piece of fabric along her back.

Unless you knew the woman personally you would never know she held weapons on her. Her right thigh held two twin daggers that were great long and short range weapons. With the flick of her hand a dagger would be in her hands.

The womens black eyes locked with red eyes from behind the mirror. The man behind her chuckled darkly but it still made her shiver. His dark hair fell in front of his eyes and fit well with his glowing red eyes.

The man had an expensive black suit that you could tell he didn't like. His knuckles were taped from fighting and didn't match the look at all. You could tell he had lots of muscle by the way his suit hung tight to his dark skin.

Still looking the woman in the eyes, his arms wrapped around her waist and pulled the woman to his chest. Breaking eye contact he put his head in her neck pressing a soft kiss to the pale skin.

"You look beautiful, my love." The dark skinned man complimented, kissing her neck gently.

"Thank you and may I say you like handsome Ares." The man now identified as Ares chuckled, putting his chin on her shoulder to look into the dark eyes of his love.

"Thank you Nemesis." Ares laughed, pulling away from the goddess. Ares turned the dark haired beauty in his arms so that she was facing him. His arms went around her waist and hers went around his neck. Nemesis started to play with the hairs on the back of her lover's neck; bringing him in for a kiss. Ares moved his hands to her back and let his fingers rub circles on the exposed skin.

The war god pulled away from the kiss and looked down at the goddess, "Are you ready to go, my love?"

Nemesis chuckled at the god that held her heart, "Yes, my war god."

Together the couple shared one last kiss before going their separate ways, knowing that they could not be together in public. Even at the ball they found a way to mingle together and keep their eyes on each other without the others suspecting anything.

Blood red colored bed sheets were messy on the bed. The red and black curtains around the bed were blowing in the wind that came from the terrace. Two bodies occupied the bed, the blanket only covering their waist down.

The man was turned on his side, tracing tattoos on the woman's back. Along the pale skin above the women's spin sat a tattoo. It started with the Sun followed by Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and then Neptune. Between Mars and Jupiter tiny dots that were supposed to be asteroids circled the small area. Besides the planet Mars the words αγάπη μου or my love.

The woman sat up a little to grab a glass of wine that sat on the bedside table. When she grabbed the glass she also grabbed a cup filled with ice and whiskey; handing it to the man. Said man nodded his head in thanks before drowning the glass, which caused the woman to laugh a little. The woman took small sips of her wine and ran her other hand through the man's hair.

"I love you, Ares." the woman whispered into the quiet room. Nothing could be heard other than the small gusts of wind.

"I love you, Nemesis." Ares responded, grabbing her small, pale hand and entwining it with his large, dark hand.

Nemesis put their glasses back on the side table and looked down at her love. "I wish to tell Olympus about us."

Ares head shot up to look at the woman he loved. He didn't mind telling the rest of the gods but it was she who didn't want to. He would love to be able to stop hanging out with Aphrodite and feel obligated to come to his house and beg for forgiveness. The god knew his love would always forgive him but he felt like he betrayed her after sleeping with another woman.

The war god wanted to spend his whole immortal life with the goddess of revenge. He wanted to come home after a war to a person who really loves him, not someone who just used him for his looks and skill in bed. He wanted to be her shoulder to cry on after a hard day and the one who took her to the fancy balls.

"Are you sure, αγάπη μου?" Ares asked, his hands now on her thigh as she nodded her head. "When would you like to tell them?"

Nemesis thought about it for a moment before looking down at Ares, "The next council meeting, in five days."

Ares looked thoughtful before smiling at his αγάπη μου, "We can do that."

Ares sat up and pushed the goddess under him, her back pressed against the bed. He hovered over her before kissing along her jaw with his hands on her hips. Her hands made their way up to his hair pulling on it a little bit.

The goddess of revenge had on a wine red dress that had black gems around the fabric. It was cut around her breasts in the shape of an oval. Her thick black hair was put up in a high ponytail and had a few pieces framing her face.

Nemesis had black heels that she could easily run in. She had no jewelry on today, as she was going to a council meeting. Under her thigh she still had her twin daggers that were perfect for fighting. The only thing that was considered jewelry was the ring that had Ares symbol on it.

The ring was placed on her left ring finger to show that she was taken and could not be courted. It was the first time she would wear it in public and not just in the confines of the place she and Ares share.

The god of war had on black jeans and a black t-shirt. His hair was messy but clean in a military haircut; the sides short and the top long. Ares had on black army boots and a knife in each boot. He also had a sword around his waist, since he was part of the council weapons were allowed on him.

Ares also had on a ring. His ring was placed on his left ring finger and had the symbol of his love, Nemesis. The ring showed that he was in a long term relationship and could not be courted by anyone. It was the first act of love he had shown his goddess in public since they had started dating.

Together the couple walked out of the palace to go to a council meeting. To announce their love for each other to all the occupants of Olympus. To show that Ares no longer would sleep with Aphrodite. To show that all single gods could stop trying to get Nemesis in bed.

Years later Nemesis came running into her and Ares rooms. Tears were streaming down her face and she had a smile on her face. Ares looked up at his love and was taken back by her face. Of course he was surprised she had tears but why the smile as well?

"What's wrong, αγάπη μου?" Ares got up and wrapped his arms around her and looked down to her.

Nemesis moved one of his hands to her stomach and held it there, "I am pregnant. With our child." she smiled at him.

Ares was in shock. He slowly smiled and got down on his knees. Nemesis laughed as he moved her shirt to kiss her stomach over and over again. Muttering an "I love you." between every kiss.

Okay so this was kinda short. I am getting back into my love for writing after so long away. This was a very short piece that I wrote out but I love it so much.

What do you think about the couple and how they love each other?
