A/N: Hey! So, this is an odd style of story I'm trying out. It started as a class assignment to create a new format of a story, and I thought of different people reading and growing through one book at different rates. This one, as the main title suggests, follows Hermione's story, but the other two will be interwoven at times. I am writing the other two girls' full stories out, but I am debating on if I'll post them. For most chapters, there will be two parts: The chapter and what's in "the book" and the person's story. For this first bit, I am also putting in the Table of Contents, for if you ever get lost. Also, I only say this once per story so pay attention: I do NOT own anything from the Harry Potter universe my brain just likes to mess with it every once in a while. However, Rebekah, Beatrice, Mabel, and their families and stories are all mine. Enjoy!

Introductions

Greetings!

Well, I'd start with congratulations, but I remember well how I felt at the start of my journey, and excitement was udefinitely/u not part of it. So, either you've been given this book without being told why, or you found it on your own. Whichever the case, welcome to the wonderful and scary world of Veelas! Now I say scary only because the prospect of being the mate of a Veela is terrifying, but I promise you it is as rewarding as it seems scary. My hope is that through reading this book, the stories of my friends and our experiences will help you through the amazing and drastic changes coming into your life.

The stories you read are not organized by chronology. Each progression of a relationship is different, so we tried to chop our stories in ways we thought would be beneficial to you. Personally, I find reading the chapters 1,2,9,14,6,7,8,3,13,15,4,12,10,11,5,17,18,16,20,19 to be the best for my story, but you never know what may come up. Good luck with your Veela, and nothing but happiness to you both!

Hello,

I apologize you have to read this drivel, I tried to explain that people don't need an introduction on how to read a book, you're going to read this how you want no matter our advice. Alas, these two don't listen to me until it's too late. So, each chapter is less tactile facts and more personal evidence as to what you'll experience. You can read textbooks on Veelas for weeks without having read them all and they will have told you nothing of what to expect. I know, I tried. The best thing you can do is to gain all the knowledge you can but accept that you know very little about this world. I've been a mate for twenty years now and I still feel like a stranger some days. If you are a person who likes certainty, say goodbye to a comfortable life right this second. These stories will prove what I mean

Oh right since the organization of this book is only sensical to those who already know what's coming I'm supposed to give insight. The chapter titles are exactly what they seem, if you have questions on something pick the chapter that relates the question and hope that it's a question we faced. If you want to see my story in order, read 1,3,14,6,9,15,2,10,16,11,4,17,5,13,7,8,20,12,18,19. One last piece of advice, I know I sound pessimistic, and mostly I am, but your Veela truly lives for you. Trust that, trust him, and as pessimistic as you may be, he will make you happy. Good luck/

Well hey there!

So, you're a Veela's mate huh? Exciting! Oh, I know you probably feel like you're falling into a black hole right now but trust me, this is the best thing to ever happen to you. Finding out who, or I guess what I was, made my life make sense. I can't imagine where I would be without my Frederick. Now, don't take this to mean it's all sunshine and rainbows. We had our issues, as you will no doubt read, but the making up part was so much fun. Now, I don't know your Veela so I can't say exactly what it will be like for you but the universal trait among Veela's is that they are dedicated to making their mate completely happy. I mean, you read from Beatrice, she's not exactly puppies and lily-pads. Yet, when she's with Peter, she almost actually smiles.

Now, the contents list of this book would have you believe that it's so easy to just read in order and that's how your life will happen… but the organization has more to do with category than a timeline. So, for my story, it went a little something like, 4,5,18,12,1,17,14,6,10,9,7,8,16,15,3,11,13,2,19,20. That probably makes no sense, but when you read, you'll see. So, happy reading, and have fun!

## DAPHNE ##

Daphne read the introduction with a mixture of interest, confusion, and a slight amount of fear. Not that she would ever admit it. "Greengrass' do not fear anything in life, Daphne. Remember that, you will be the one that all eyes are on as you grow. You must uphold the family image," her father would say. Say, yell, whisper, scream, whichever mode fit his mood as he drilled into her all the proper behavior she was to exhibit in public.

But if this book was to be believed… Her life was going to change forever.

## LUNA ##

It was quite an intriguing bit of magic. No one but the mate of a Veela could read what was on the pages? Quite clever, Luna would bet her entire Gringott's vault that Rebeckah came up with it.

Now, to see what secrets this book held about the fascinating, and secretive, creature. Oh yes, this year was shaping up to be quite an exciting one.

## HERMIONE ##

Hermione shut the book and stared at the cover in confusion. Why would anyone think she'd need this book? She wasn't a Veela mate! The idea was completely absurd. She looked at the packaging the book came in one more time. Not-so-shockingly, no name had randomly materialized in the "from" box since she checked it three minutes ago.

"So, what was the book? Something for school?" Ginny called out from her trunk.

"No, some random book I guess someone thought I'd find interesting." She shrugged it off and set the book in the drawer of her nightstand.

"And you have no idea who sent it?"

"Not one clue, but it does look intriguing."

"And by that, I assume you mean academic?" Ginny huffed as she finally stuffed the last sweater in and latched her trunk.

"For your information, while it is true it's actually personal stories. Besides, it has nothing to do with my classes this year." Hermione stood from the bed and moved to grab her trunk.

"So, aren't you going to bring it?"

At that Hermione paused and replied, "What do you mean?"

"You said it looked interesting, but you're going to leave it here?" She gave a wild wave of her wand arm at Hermione's nightstand.

"I told you, Gin, it has nothing to do with my classes this term."

"Oh c'mon! You said it looked fun, so take some fun with you." Ginny skipped over to the nightstand.

"Wait, Ginny." Hermione groaned as her friend picked up the book and looked at the cover in confusion. Then she opened it and flipped through the pages. After what would feel to Hermione like an eternity, Ginny looked up at her with an incredulous expression.

"Why would you call this a book?"

"Well I mean it's not quite a journal since it has multiple perspectives."

"Where? It's blank!"

"What do you mean?" Hermione rushed over to the book. The writing was still on the page, clear as day. Taking the book, Hermione furiously flipped through the first when her eyes fell on the first written line of chapter one:

I must say I am glad that only Veela mates can read this because there are a few things in my story that I would rather not share with the world at large.

Well then. That may have just complicated things…

A/N: And there you go! Most chapters won't check in on all three so don't worry about getting lost in the shuffle there. I just wanted to give a basic set up for the other two getting their book for you as well. Hope you enjoyed it and I plan to get the next chapter up within the next week. TTFN
