Liv looks at the caller ID and sees that Rafael Barba is calling her. She smiles and realizes how much she missed her best friend. The one person she was close with before and after Lewis until he left also.
"Hey Rafa how are you? Oh you're coming to town? Okay yeah we can set up a dinner. Yes, Noah misses you. Yes! He's 7 already. Okay most definitely we will see you soon."
Throughout the entire conversation Elliot's wondering who this Rafa is?
Who's that and Why does he know about her son? Tucker never said anything about this Rafa?
"Sorry El that was my old friend Rafael Barba, he used to be one of the ADAs and left about 3 years ago. You can continue."
"Okay so where was I? Oh yeah, so all of this is going to be hard to believe and is a lot so can you try and not interrupt me?"
"I can't promise you anything but I will try El," she tried to reassure him that she was trying to keep her cool considering how he left in her eyes.
"So I'm going to start off with when I shot Jenna. That day was so hectic Liv, and after was even worse. IAB was going to make me seem like this bad cop that likes to kill victims if I didn't do exactly what they said. I remember it clear as day. "Undercover you or your partner, or you lose your job and pension along with an indictment' I wasn't even able to tell Kathy because at that point Tucker wanted me to start undercover within the next few days after the shooting. It wasn't like I was going to miss anyone but you and my kids Liv. The reason I never answered your calls is because after I talked with him he said I was not allowed to call, talk, or even see you. He used the 'we were too close' and knew that I was going to tell you even if it was with my eyes. At that time Liv me and Kathy had already been divorced 2 or 3 weeks and I was going to tell you that night when I drove you home. If the circumstances were different I know we would've been married already. Okay so fast forward to when they told you about my fake retirement. Tucker went and told my ex-wife everything while I was under. He told her that I was able to keep my pension and everything, which I was going to give to my kids because Kathy was already seeing someone or at least that's what she had told me once our divorce finalized. The only thing I told Tucker to do was make sure you got my badge. Did you get it?" He was staring deeply at her with tears glistening in his blue eyes.
Liv finally looked up at him with her hand covering her mouth trying not to burst into tears realizing that he was telling the truth or most of the truth.
"Your badge? And the medallion? I, um, yeah I got them Elliot but I thought I was going crazy. Why did Tucker? He's not like that El why did he do that?" Olivia was now trying to understand why Elliot believes that Ed did this. Ed would never have done that or would he have?
"Yeah Olivia he did. Made up this shit story of me having to retire making it seem like I didn't care or love you when I do. I've loved you since I saw you walk into the precinct all those years ago."
He looked at her with so much admiration and love that she felt herself blushing and feeling a little warm from his confession.
She looks at him nodding for him to continue because she knew if she asked anymore questions or intervened in any way she would get even more mad then she was starting to feel.
"So to move on everytime I would get to meet with my agent I also had to meet with Tucker. And whenever I would sit down to talk to my agent and give them intel Tucker would update me about you. He told me about all the major and minor things about you. It was like he was rubbing it in my face on how I was away while you were going through the best and worst moments of your life and I wasn't there for you like I was supposed to be. I will never forgive myself and I will never forgive him even beyond the grave. He would laugh in my face because it clearly got a reaction from me especially when he told me about what happened with everything right after I left and how Cassidy was there for you. Then He would talk about how you broke up with Cassidy and how you got this little boy and how great of a mother you were. Then apparently he got on this high fucking horse because he said 'and she's mine now and won't ever be yours' because apparently y'all had dated for a brief time. Why Liv? Why'd you date that asswipe? He wasn't any good for you or Noah. And that 'Oh I took her and noah to Paris bullshit'? He pushed my buttons so much while I was undercover that near the end I thought he just was fucking around and didn't want to update me about you anymore. Apparently not the asshole is dead after all. That is why I never talked to you after, saw you or anything Liv. You know me. Why would I not want to talk to you? You're the only one that understands me and vice versa. You do know that I love you right Liv? Because I know you love me. Despite you slapping me back there, which might I add was a little hot? No? Okay sorry."
He tries to make a light joke to lighten the mood.
Olivia gave a small laugh and looked at him and tried to find the words to tell him that she did miss him. She did love him and always will.
"Elliot. You do know I did not know how that Tucker could've been like this right? After you left I lost myself ask anyone. When Cragen told me that day I cried before I left to go home. By myself and then I realized that maybe it was for the better that you left. I was forced to grow without you which I am kind of upset you never got to be there through the worst parts. Right now, I'm not going to elaborate but I do know that Tucker probably told you. Also, Yes I did date Cassidy and Tucker but they were just these little flings. When Ed and I were together it was right after I had Noah for a few years and we had started hanging out more and becoming close and it just happened. I had to end it because my heart belonged to someone else even though he wasn't here. And to answer your question; No Noah isn't Cassidy's. What made me break up with him is because not only did he cheat on me more than once. He helped me through it and it was nice for a while but I wanted marriage, a child, and the whole thing you know but he wasn't for me. Recently I had come to terms with you actually being absent in my life because you never came back. But look at how wrong I was."
She looked at him the way she used to before he left. Like he was the only thing that mattered in the world.
But now Olivia thought I have Noah.
Elliot can't be the only one I think about with me because I have Noah. It needs to be both of us: we're a packaged deal and I hope El understands that.
"Olivia, I know that a lot has changed and right now you don't trust me but please let me take you out on a date? Or allow me to get to know the new Olivia Benson, the Captain Olivia Benson of SVU, the Mother Olivia Benson. Please?"
She looked up at him knowing that she wanted to. She needed that whether it was closure or if it was a start to a continuous dance they danced back 10 years ago for the 12 years of their partnership.

As soon as Olivia got home it was near 10 in the evening and she saw that Noah was with Lucy reading his favorite book on the couch.
Lucy looks up and sees Liv before Noah does and starts to get up.
"Hey Mom! How was work?" Noah was excited to see his mother.
"I hope he was good for you. Here you go," she had given Lucy her weekly pay early since Olivia had the weekend off. And then Lucy left while thanking Olivia for her paycheck.
"Okay Noah we have to have another really serious conversation. Do you think we can stay up a little past bedtime to have this talk?"
Noah looked at her with a questionable look and then decided to say, "Of course Mom. What is it?"
"Okay so first, you remember Uncle Rafa? Well he's coming back from where he got a new job at. Isn't that exciting?"
"Uncle Rafa is coming back!? Yes mom! I can't wait to see him." He was jumping up and down since he hadn't seen his Uncle Rafa in a few years.
"Okay Noah now I know you're excited to see your Uncle Rafa but I do have something else I need to tell you. I saw one of my old friends today. His name is Elliot. Do you remember me telling you about him?"
She got up and went to go get the picture, his mini badge, and the Semper Fi medallion he had sent her that had been sitting on her bedside table for the past few years. She gave them to him with the envelope that Elliot has sent her the badge and the Semper Fi medallion.
"He gave those to me when he left. He just came back from being undercover for the past 10 years and he wants to meet you. Would you want to meet him?"
"Well Mom yeah but please don't let him go away like Ed did."
