July 14, 2004

July 14th was like any other day. It was just a regular day to anyone. It meant summer for all students, it meant BBQ's and family vacations. To Troy Bolton, it meant hanging with his friends and practicing his jump shot along with all his other skills in preparation for trying out for the basketball team in the fall when he starts high school. Even though he knew he was a sure in for the team with his father being one of the coaches, he still needed to practice. He didn't want any special treatment and he knew his father wasn't going to give it to him anyway.

Well that is what he wanted to do.

Instead he was in his room getting ready to have dinner with a set of his parent's friends. He had learned last week that his mother's friend from college and medical school, was moving to town with her husband and two children. Apparently, they were close friends but lost touch after medical school when his mother's friend moved to New York. She had recently been hired at the local hospital as the new head surgeon and her husband was a police officer. They had a 4-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter. Troy sighed as he much rather be practicing or hanging with his friends, but he knew there was no way he was going to get out of this dinner.

"Troy come down, the Montezs are here." Troy rolled his eyes as he left the comfort of his room and walked down the stairs. He heard voices talking as he walked into the living room.

"It's so good to see you again Christina, its been years." His mother gushed over her friend as the two hugged.

"Oh yes, when I found out that you were working at the same hospital, I knew I was going to reach out! And we live right down the street which is a plus." He watched the two women talk as he rolled his eyes. He prayed that this dinner wasn't going to suck.

"Oh Troy, there you are. Come and meet Christina." Troy walked further into the room and stood by his mother's side.

"Christina this is our son Troy." Troy gave a charming smile as the two adults looked at him. "It's nice to meet you Troy. Anthony, you and the kids come meet Troy."

Troy looked over towards the kitchen as he watched his father and the other 3 Montez family members walk into the room. When he looked over at the daughter, he swears he felt his heart stop. She was wearing a white summer dress with black flats and her hair was half up with the rest flowing down her back. He had never seen a girl so beautiful in his life. He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard his mother talking to him.

"Honey this Christina's husband Anthony and their children Gabriella and Nathan." Troy looked over at Gabriella and felt the hairs on the back of his head stand up as she smiled at him.

God, even her name is beautiful

The two smiled over at each other as Troy was starting to realize that this day was about to get a lot better.

July 13th, 2006

Troy watched from the side lines as his best friend was teaching a swim class to younger children at their job. The two currently were working at Lava Springs country club thanks to their friends, Sharpay and Ryan. Troy was a waiter while Gabriella was a lifeguard. It had been almost two years on the date since the two first met and they were closer than ever. Gabriella had become one of his best friends. They two did everything together and were together almost every day. The only problem was that Troy had fallen for his brown eyed best friend and fallen hard. He had no idea when he knew he was in love with her. He figured he had always had feelings for her but as time went on the stronger he felt. It was something about her that he couldn't get enough of. Maybe it was the way that she always laughed at his stupid jokes or the fact that she could get him to do just about anything she wanted with a pout. Maybe it was the fact that she was the only girl who didn't care that he was one of the most popular boys in school. She was popular as well with being on the volleyball team and track team, but the status didn't matter to her. Maybe it was the fact that she looked so cute when she was confused, or she looked hot as hell when she was mad. He didn't know what it was, but he knew he love the way that she made him feel.

"Troy!" He jumped as he turned to see his other best friend, Chad Danforth, smirking at him.

"Jesus Chad are you trying to kill me?" Chad rolled his eyes at his friends dramatics.

"No I'm trying to get you to focus before you get yourself fired making googly eyes at Gabi."

Troy blushed as he wiped off the table her was standing at. All of their friends knew he had feelings for Gabriella and Chad had told him plenty of times to just ask her out but he always said he didn't want to "ruin their friendship" which Chad put off at Troy being too scared to admit his feelings.

"I don't know what you are talking about." Chad once again rolled his eyes as the two walked around the outside area collecting orders.

"Mmhmm sure. You were totally standing over here drooling watching her in the pool. I don't know why you just won't ask her out." Troy sighed as he walked over to grab more clean towels.

"I already told you I-"

"Don't want to ruin your friendship. I know, we all know. We also know that you are madly in love with that girl and are too much of a wimp to just tell her. I don't get it you can ask out any girl you want but with Gabriella you turn into mush."

Troy sighed as Chad was right. He had no idea what hold she had on him or why he was so scared to ask her out. He turned towards the pool and watched as she was finishing up her class. He loved the way her eyes lit up every time she got a chance to teach a class. He watched her turn to look in his direction and when she spotted him, she smiled and waved causing him to do the same.

"See look at that right there. I can legit see yourself turning into mush and all she did was smile at you." Chad shook his head at his lovestruck friend. What hold Gabriella had on Troy, he would never know.

"Dude, you seriously need to just ask her out. You know how damn near most of the guys in our class are trying to ask her out on dates. Its been that way since we first started high school."

Troy bit his lip as Chad was right. He knew at least 7 different guys who wanted to ask her out. He always got jealous when he saw them try and talk to her, but he couldn't do anything about it. She had a boyfriend their freshman year that lasted about 7 months and she had been on dates since then and each time Troy got jealous that it wasn't him. He looked over at his best friend and saw her laughing with one of the other lifeguards. His heart bursting at seeing her smile. He knew he had to do it before he ended up in the friend zone forever.

It was 5pm and Troy was in the employee lounge waiting for Gabriella. The normally rode to work together but Gabriella started before him and Troy didn't get off until an hour after her, so she drove herself today. His leg was shaking as he waited for her to enter the room. He knew he had to ask her out today before she left before he lost all his nerves. His head popped up at the sound of the door opening and he felt his heart beating fast in his chest as she walked through the door. She was on her phone, so she didn't even notice that he was in the room.

"Ella!" Gabriella raised her head and smiled as she saw her blue eyed best friend walking over towards her.

"Hey Troy, I thought you didn't get off for another hour." Troy rubbed the back of his neck, a clear sign that he was nervous.

"Yeah I do. I just…I needed to ask you something before you left." Gabriella rose an eyebrow as she looked at Troy. Something was off. Why was he so nervous?

"Okay, what is is?" She tilted her head to the side and Troy wanted to melt right then and there.

God she's so damn cute. What? Focus Troy!

"Umm what are you doing later tonight." Gabriella shrugged as she opened her locker. "Nothing really. Tay and Sharpay wanted to hang and have a movie night." Troy bit his lip as it was now or never.

"Oh well I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight. Like..maybe go on a date with me?"

Gabriella stopped looking in her locker as she turned to look at Troy with a shocked face. Did her best friend, the guy that she had been secretly crushing on since they were 14, did he really just ask her out?

"Um.. a date?" Troy nodded his head as he couldn't read her face. He didn't know what she was going to say.

"Yea, so will you? Will you go on a date with me tonight?" On the outside Gabriella was trying to stay calm but on the inside, she was squealing.

What the hell are you doing! Answer him!

"Yes" Troy felt his eyes grow wide as he snapped his head up at hearing her answer. Did she really just say yes?

"What?" Gabriella bit her lip to try and stop the smile from slipping through, but she was failing.

"Yes, I'll go on a date with you." Troy felt like jumping for joy, but he had to remain calm.

"Great. Uh how about I pick you up at 7:30?" Gabriella nodded her head as she wanted to legit scream for joy. He asked her out!

"Okay." The two stood there smiling at each other before Troy realized he was supposed to be working.

"I..um..i have to go but I'll see you later" He leaned over and kissed her cheek before running off leaving. He smiled to himself as he prayed this next hour would fly by so that he could get ready for tonight.

It was 7:30 on the dot when Troy rang the doorbell to his best friend's house. He tapped his foot as he couldn't help but feel nervous. Their relationship was moving in a different direction, a direction that he hoped lead them down a path that ended up with her becoming his girlfriend. His head snapped up when he heard the door open and his breathe caught in his throat at seeing his best friend on the other side. She was wearing distressed jeans, a nice flowy summer top and her hair was half up, half down, just like he liked it. She looked beautiful but then again she always did.

"Hi" Gabriella had blushed and smiled at seeing her best friend on the other side of the door. She had paid attention to the way that he was looking at her and she couldn't help but feel giddy inside.

"Hi" She giggled causing his smile to grow. "So you ready to go?"

She nodded her head as she took his head and allowed him to lead her to his truck. He opened the door for her as she climbed in and he rushed around to the other side. Troy climbed into his truck and instantly link his hand with Gabriella's causing her to blush. He smiled as he started driving.

"So Wildcat, where are you taking me?"

"I was thinking bowling and then ice cream? Is that okay?" Gabriella looked over at Troy and smiled at his question. He was so damn cute when he was nervous. She bit her lip as she nodded her head making Troy smile.

"That sounds perfect."

Perfect is exactly what the date was. The two had the time of their lives on the date. Any nervous that either of them felt beforehand was thrown right out the window. They laughed and smiled at each other all night and Troy's hand never left Gabriella's the entire night. After bowling the two went to the ice cream shop and then walked around the park. They stopped and looked at the stars, well Gabriella did. Troy was too busy watching her.

"Its beautiful" Gabriella said as she looked up at the stars not even realizing that Troy's eyes never left her face. He found everything about her amazing and he still couldn't believe that she was on a date with him right now.

"Yea you are." Gabriella looked over at him and blushed realizing that he was talking about her. Troy blushed as he realized that he had let that statement slip out of his mouth. Rubbing the back of his neck, Troy looked at the time realizing that it was near both of their curfews and sadly the date had to end.

"Uh we should get back." Gabriella nodded as she grabbed his hand and the two walked back to his truck. Once they reached her house, Troy, like the gentleman that he was, walked her to the door. Both were looking towards the ground, both nervous to make the next step.

"I had a great time tonight Troy." Troy looked up to see her smiling which caused him to smile.

"I'm glad. I had fun too." Everything in him was telling him to kiss her. He knew that would be the perfect end to the night. Gabriella watched as Troy's hand moved up along her face to move a piece of her hair behind her ear. She bit her lip as she felt him rub her check, silently hoping that he would kiss her. Troy battled with himself on what his next move should be. He leaned and could've sworn he saw her lean in as well. Sadly, he chickened out at the last second and kissed her check.

"Good night Ella." He looked at her and could've sworn her saw a hint of disappointment in her eyes.

"Night Troy." He watched her enter her home when all he really wanted to do was pull her back into his arms.

Troy stared at the ceiling as he laid in his bed. It was after midnight and he still couldn't believe that he didn't kiss her. He had the chance, and he blew it. The date was amazing. One of the best he ever had but he ruined it by not kissing her. It had been on his mind since the moment she closed the door. He groaned as he knew he wasn't going to get any sleep tonight. Not with her on his mind. He had to do something. He jumped out of bed, grabbed his sweatpants and hoodie and silently snuck out of the house. Walking the short 2 minute walk to his best friends house, Troy snuck into her backyard and climbed up her balcony. He tried not to make any noise so that her parents or brother wouldn't wake up. He landed successfully and smiled as her saw her asleep through the balcony doors. He hated to wake her up, but he needed to do this. He gently tapped on the window but loud enough so that she could hear.

Gabriella was awakened by a constant tapping on her door. She rubbed her eyes and looked over towards her balcony. Her eyes grew as she saw Troy standing on the other side. She jumped out of bed and rushed over to the door opening it and stepping out into the summer night.

"Troy what are you doing here. It's 12:30am and we both have work in the morning." Gabriella looked at him as if he was insane. Maybe he was but he was okay with that. He didn't say anything which made Gabriella worried. Why was he here so late?

"Troy are you okay? Whats wr-"

Before she could finish asking her question, she felt his lips on hers. She was shocked but soon relaxed into the kiss. All too soon, Troy pulled back and watched as Gabriella eyes fluttered open.

"I'm sorry but I needed to do that. I couldn't leave the date the way I did." Troy placed his hand on her cheek as Gabriella bit her lip and looked into his eyes.

"I think you should do it again." She whispered causing Troy to smile and the two to lean back in.

Troy placed his hands on her hips and pushed her up against the door as he deepened the kiss causing Gabriella to place her hands behind his neck. All too soon, they broke the kiss when they needed air. They connected foreheads as they both tried to collect their breath.

"Be mine." Gabriella's eyes shot open as she saw Troy gazing at her with a small smile on his lips. "Be my girlfriend."

Gabriella smiled and nodded her head. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Troy smiled as she leaned in and the two shared another kiss. Once again making July 14th a special day in their books.

July 14th, 2007

Gabriella laughed loudly as her boyfriend of 1 year chased her around the park. The two were celebrating their one year anniversary where Troy had taken her to dinner at her favorite restaurant before the two went to the park to watch the stairs.

"Troyyyyyy" Gabriella laughed as her boyfriend captured her and spun her around. Troy laughed as he placed her back on her feet but still kept a tight hold of her. The two tried to catch their breath as Troy kissed her forehead.

"I love you." Gabriella smiled up at her handsome blue eyed boyfriend as she never got tired of hearing him say that to her. "

I love you too. Thank you for an amazing night." She pulled him down for a kiss and Troy squeezed her closer to him, if that was even possible.

"Mmhmm you are more than welcome. Thank you for an amazing year." He moved some of her hair out of her face as he kissed her again.

"It has been an amazing year hasn't it."

Troy nodded as in the past year the two had grown closer. Ever since the day, 365 days ago, when Troy climbed her balcony and kissed her, the two couldn't be happier.

"Come on its getting late, lets get you home" Troy kissed the top of her head before the two walked back to his truck. Once they returned to Gabriella's house, the two walked hand in hand up to her door. Troy turned to look at the girl that captured his heart as he placed her fallen hair behind her ear.

"I should probably let you go." Gabriella bit her lip as she had no idea what was coming over her. Lately all she wanted to do is be around Troy and tonight was one of those nights.

"My parent's aren't home. Maybe you could just stay a little longer." Troy felt his body change at his girlfriend's request. He knew her request wasn't as innocent as it was meant to be. He knew by the look in her eyes that it wasn't innocent. He had been seeing that look a lot more within the recent months and he would be lying if he said he hadn't been looking at her the same way. He wasn't dumb and neither was she. They both knew something about their relationship was changing, for the good that is. He nodded his head as the two walked into her house and up to her room.

Her mother was on a trip for work whereas her father was at work. Since it was their anniversary her parents let her grandparents, who were in town, keep her brother for the night so that Gabriella didn't have to babysit. All of this meaning that they had an empty house. The two entered her room, like the always do, but this time something felt different. Troy watched with hunger in his eyes as his girlfriend sat her things down before turning to look at him. That same twinkle in her eye that he had been seeing for a while now.

"So do you want to watch a movie?" Gabriella watched as the boy she loved so much gave her his charming smile before strolling over to her. She felt her body become hot when he touched her hips and pulled her closer to him.

"Not really?" He whispered as she bit her lip. She saw his eyes change to darker blue. She knew this look. He had been giving her this look for a long time now and she would be wrong if she said it was getting harder to deny that look. Every time he gave her that look they would end up having to take cold showers.

"Well what do you want to do then?" Troy's eyes looked over his beautiful girlfriend as he couldn't think straight. His eyes flickered from her lips to her eyes and back to her lips.

"I can show you better than I can tell you." He watched her smirk and that twinkle in her eye returned.

"Show me." That's all it took before he slammed his lips against hers. He pulled her closer to him if that was even possible. Gabriella ran her hands through his hear as she heard him moan. She felt him press her body against the wall as she jumped up to wrap her legs around his waist. Hands started to roam and before they knew it they were both on her bed. Gabriella pulled back as she pulled her shirt above her head causing her boyfriend to groan. He pulled her back down to his lips and flipped her over, running his hands down her body. He pulled back to pull his shirt off causing Gabriella to smile and run her finger down his abs causing him to moan. Troy pulled back as he stared down at his beautiful girlfriend.

"Ella..are…are you sure about this. I'll stop if you want me to." Gabriella smiled up at the love of her life. She loved the fact that he always wanted to make sure she was okay with anything he did.

"Yea I'm sure." She pulled him back down to her lips as ore clothes started to shed. The two becoming closer than ever and making July 14th even more special than it already was.

July 14th, 2010

Troy rubbed his face as he looked over at his bed side table and sighed. He grabbed the photo from the table and stared at the brown eyed beauty that not only stole his heart but also broke it. It had been 6 months since the two decided to take a break. Well not really decide but were force to take a break. The two were in their 2nd year in college when things between them started going bad. Troy was studying at UC Berkeley while Gabriella was at Stanford. Although they weren't that far away from each other, the distance still played a big part in the break. The work load and everything else included with college started to get between them. Time got away from them and their weekend visits started to turn into monthly visit and then they just stopped all together. The final straw was when Troy missed a weekend after Gabriella had moved her entire schedule around for his visit. The two yelled at each other, words were said and by the end of the phone call, Gabriella was in tears and they were no longer in a relationship.

That was 6 months ago and neither had talked or seen each other since. Ever since that day, Troy's life had been hell. He missed her every second of every day. It took everything not to call her but he figured it was too late. Even if she did talk with him there was no chance that they were going to get back together. What made matters worse that today would've been their anniversary. Troy closed his eyes as he thought about how today would've made 4 years. He wanted so badly to call her and see how she was doing. In all honesty he wanted to go to her house, but he had no idea if she was home for the summer. He continued to look at the picture of the two of them. It was a picture of the two of them at her graduation party. She was on his back and the two were looking straight into the camera. How he wished he could go back to that time. Hell he wished he could go back to 6 months ago.

"Troy! Can you come here for a minute?" Troy rolled his eyes at his mothers' request. He knew it was sad but he just wanted to stay in his room and get this day over with. He went down the stairs as he walked into the kitchen to see his mother baking.

"Yes mom?" Lucille looked up at her only child and gave him a small smile. She knew what today was and knew he was taking it hard. She loved Gabriella like a daughter. Her and Christina often talked about when their children would come to their senses and get back together. She had a feeling it would be soon.

Call it a mother hunch.

"Can you run to the store for me. I'm missing some things."

Troy grabbed a water out of the fridge as he nodded his head. He grabbed the list, kissed his mother on the cheek and grabbed his car keys. As he drove to the store, he couldn't seem to get Gabriella out of his head. Today was their day. He should've been getting prepared for their date tonight not wondering where she was. He wondered if she was thinking about him. Probably not. She was probably off having the time of her life. A life that he was no longer apart of.

He reached the store and walked in looking down at the list. He grabbed a cart and started grabbing what his mother needed. He went down one of the aisles and grabbed the last item on the list when he noticed a girl struggling to grab a box on the high shelf.

"Here let me help." He reached up to grab the box and turned to hand it to the stranger.

"Thank yo- Troy?" He looked up at the sound of his name. He knew that voice…

"Gabriella.." There in front of him was the one girl who hadn't left his mind over the last 6 months. He look her over as she looked the same but some how she looked even more beautiful since the last time he saw her.

What the hell are you doing?! Say something!

"Hi" He mentally rolled his eyes.

Hi? That's all you can say?

"Hey how…how have you been?" Gabriella couldn't believe she was talking to the man who she couldn't get out of her head. He still looked the same as he did 6 months ago. She hadn't seen or talked to him since the break up.

"I've been..okay? How about you? I didn't know you were back home. Last I heard you were studying abroad." Gabriella raised her eyebrow as Troy blushed. "I overheard your mom talking to my mom on the phone." Gabriella nodded her head as she looked down.

"I came back at the end of June and then we went away for the holiday. I figured you were staying in Cali for the summer" Troy shook his head. As much as he wanted to stay in California, he came home hoping to run into her because he knew she would be home for the summer. At least he hoped.

"I needed to come home. It was a hard year."

"Yea you can say that again." The two ex-lovers stared at each other both trying to figure out what their next move should be. Gabriella looked down at her phone to see a text from her mom.

"I have to go but it was nice seeing you again Troy." Gabriella turned to walk away but only to be stopped by Troy's hand on hers. Both looked down when they felt the familiar spark run through their bodies.

"Wait, do you…would you like to meet me for ice cream late this evening." Gabriella bit her lip as she looked into the eyes she missed so much. The eyes that she prayed to see again. The eyes as that belonged to the man that still had her heart. Before she knew what was happening she was nodding her head.

"Okay." Troy smiled as he felt giddy inside. She said okay.

"Okay."

The two walked through the park after meeting at their favorite ice cream spot. They caught up with one another about what had been happening in their lives over the last 6 months. As nervous as they were, it seemed as though time hadn't changed. Like they hadn't just spent 6 months not talking to one another.

"I can't believe Chad did that." Gabriella laughed as Troy laughed along with her.

"You know Chad he never learns."

The two walked silently through the park as Troy couldn't stop looking at Gabriella. She knew he was looking at her. She could feel his eyes on her but she didn't know what to do about it. She knew she shouldn't be here, but she couldn't help it. It's like he was magnetic.

"Do you know what today is?" Gabriella looked at Troy as if that was the dumbest question he asked tonight. Of course she knew what today was. She had been dreading it the last couple of weeks.

"Of course."

Troy looked down as he didn't know what he wanted to really say to her. How do you tell you ex girlfriend that you still loved her and needed her back?

"I've been thinking about this day for weeks now. I woke up this morning wanting to call you, but I didn't know what to say or even if you would've answered." Gabriella looked at the man she still loved as she listened to him talk.

She didn't know where he was headed with this conversation, but something was telling her to stay around and keep listening. Troy looked up and looked into the brown orbs he fell in love with. He saw her battling with herself. On if she should leave or stay and listen. He took a step closer to her as he moved a piece of her hair behind her ear.

"I kept thinking about how I would've sent you flowers yesterday or would have been spending the last week thinking of something amazing for us to do."

Gabriella felt her breath get caught in her throat. She needed to pull away and go home but she didn't want to. She felt her body get hot at just his simple touch. She saw him lean in and knew she needed to walk away but she felt a force pull her in as well.

"I missed you so much Ella."

She closed her eyes at hearing his nickname for her. She hadn't heard it in so long and she missed it. Before either of them knew it they were kissing. Troy placed his hand on her cheek as Gabriella wrapped her around his neck. Before he knew it, it was over just as fast as it started when he felt Gabriella pull back and push him away.

"I…you shouldn't have done that. I..i need to go." Gabriella turned to walk away to feel Troy's hand on her arm.

"Ella..Ella wait please. Don't go. Just hear me out." Troy took a step back as Gabriella whipped around to look at him. He knew that look and it wasn't a happy look.

"Hear you out? Now you want me to hear you out! Now after 6 months! You didn't want to hear me out so why should I!?" Troy flinched as he figured this would happen. Things were going too good for it not to happen.

"I know. You have every right to be angry but Ella please I need you. I miss you like crazy. These last 6 months without you have been hell. From the moment we ended things all I wanted to do was call you and ask you to forgive me."

"Why should I forgive you! You just walked away Troy! You didn't even fight for us. When things got hard you just left and never looked back. Not only did I lose the man that I loved but I also lost my best friend." Gabriella shook her head as she started to walk away but Troy followed her.

"Gabriella please. Baby I love you!" Gabriella stopped which caused Troy to stop. She turned to look at him and Troy swore his heart broke as he saw the tears.

"I love you baby. I've never stopped. These last 6 months have made me realize that I can't live without you. I was an idiot. I know I didn't fight for us and I've been beating myself up about that every day. I should've fought. I should've tried to meet you half way. I should've done a lot of things differently but baby you have got to believe me when I say that if you give me, if you give us another chance I will make it up to you." Gabriella watched as Troy moved closer to her. She saw in his eyes how serious he was. She saw him trying not to let the tears fall from his eyes.

"Baby please come back to me. I swear to you I will never make the same mistake again." Gabriella closed her eyes as Troy leaned his forehead against hers.

"Please Ella. I love you."

"I love you too." Troy's eyes popped up as he looked and saw Gabriella smiling at him. He gave her back the same teary smile as he felt his heart soar.

"I never stopped loving you. As badly as I wanted to hate you, I couldn't get you out of my mind." Troy pulled her closer as he let out a breath that he didn't even know he was holding in.

"Be mine again. Please baby." Gabriella placed her arms around his neck as Troy wrapped his around her waist.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." Gabriella pulled Troy down to her and did the one thing that she had been missing over the last 6 months.

When Troy woke up this morning, he hated this day. It reminded him of the one person he missed the most. Little did he know that this day we soon turn back into his favorite day of the year.

July 14th, 2012

Gabriella sighed as she walked through the door of the apartment that she shared with her boyfriend. Yes, they had broken up for a the longest 6 months of her life, but they moment they got together, they put those 6 months behind them. It also made it easier that they got back together on their original anniversary. Gabriella smiled as she thought about the special day. Today made officially 6 years that she had been with Troy and they had been the best 6 years of her life. She was sad that she couldn't spend the day with him. She had to be at the hospital where she was doing her clinical rounds for her first year of medical school whereas Troy had just finished his first year of student teaching at the local high school.

She had been at the hospital for the last 12 hours and all she wanted to do was cuddle up with her man. Right as she was placing her things in the front closet, she heard a barking noise and looked down to see their 4 month old German shepherd puppy. Troy had bought it for her as a gift for getting into medical school.

"Hey Rose. Where's daddy." Gabriella picked Rose up as the two walked further into the apartment. She looked in the kitchen and her eyebrows furrowed as she didn't see him in there as well as the living room.

"Troy…Troy where are you? Are you home?"

He didn't call her or send her a text about him not being home when she got home. It was their day so where could he be. Gabriella walked into their bedroom and gasped as she saw flower petals all over the floor and their bed. The flowers on the bed was shaped like a heart with a small blue velvet box in the middle of the heart. Gabriella sore she could hear her heart beating out of her chest as she walked closer to the bed. She couldn't tear her eyes away from the box. She picked up the box as her heard started to beat faster. Opening the box, she saw it was empty which made her eyebrows squish together in confusion.

"Looking for this." She turned around at the sound of her boyfriend's voice and gasped as she saw him on one knee with the beautiful 1.5 princess cut diamond ring in his hand.

"8 years ago today, you walked into my life. I remember being pissed that my mom was making miss hanging out with Chad for a dinner with her friend's family but all of that changed the moment I saw you. I thought you were the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. We quickly become best friends and then somewhere along the line I started to fall in love with you. 6 years ago today, I finally overcame my fear and asked you out and I'm so glad I did. 2 years ago, I thought I lost you forever but somehow fate brought us back and I vowed to never walk away from us again. These last 6 years had been the best years of my life. I found not only my best friend but the love of my life. Being with you, loving you, kissing you, all of it has made my life worth wild. You deserve to have the world and if you allow me, I plan to spend the rest of my days on this earth making sure you get it." Gabriella had tears flowing down her face as she listened to her boyfriend sweet words. Troy gave her a teary smile as he tried to hold in his tears. He gently took her hand as he took a deep breath and asked her the question that he had been planning on doing for the last 12 months.

"Gabriella Noelle Montez, will you marry me?" Gabriella felt the air from her body leave as she heard the question that she had been dreaming about. Now that the day was finally here, she already knew what her answer was going to be. Gabriella smiled down at the love of her life as she nodded her head and pulled him up to her level.

"Yes! Yes I will marry you." Troy smile reached his ears as he placed the ring on her finger before slamming his lips against hers. He lifted her off the ground as the two deepened the kiss. Yet another reason why July 14th was becoming one of their favorite days.

July 14th 2015

Troy knew without a doubt that his hand was going to be broken at the end of this.

"Just breathe baby." He pushed back the sweat bangs from his wife's forehead as she screamed out on agony.

"I AM BREATHING!" Troy flinched as this had been going on the last hour and he didn't know how much either of them could handle.

"I swear to God Bolton I'm going to kill you for doing this to me." Troy nodded his head as he just kissed her forehead.

"I know, I'm sorry"

Gabriella had been in labor for the last 15 hours and to say she was over it was an understatement. After the two had gotten engaged, they had spent the next year preparing for their wedding. They had gotten married the following September in front of all their friends and family. Troy's mother teasing him about if she would've let him go out with Chad and miss the dinner, he would've missed meeting his soon to be wife. Troy just laughed and kissed his mother's cheek before thanking her yet again.

The two quickly feel into a bliss marriage with Gabriella finishing up medical school and Troy starting his teaching job as a English high school teacher and basketball coach. 2 years after they were married, Gabriella soon feel pregnant. The two were shocked but also very excited. The moment Gabriella had told Troy that they were having a baby, he instantly went into overprotective husband and father mode. He did everything for her to ensure that she had a smooth pregnancy. Gabriella couldn't have been more grateful for her husband. Although he did get on her nerves at times with his overprotectiveness so knew it was because he loved her and didn't want anything to happen to her. When she had first went to the doctor, her doctor had told her that her due date was July 20th so when the two were enjoying a nice day at home, they were shocked when Gabriella's water broke on her way to the kitchen. Both were so busy rushing out of the door that neither really paid attention to the date.

"Okay Gabriella, give me one more big push and your baby will be out." Gabriella listen to the doctor and the encouraging words of her husband as he pushed as hard as she could. She fell back on the bed as she looked over towards Troy who gave her a small smile.

"Come on baby, you got this." Gabriella shook her head as she felt the tears in her eyes.

"I can't do it Troy. It hurts." Troy nodded his head as he kissed her hand.

"I know baby but it's almost over. One more big push and our daughter will be here okay." Gabriella nodded her head as she took a big breath and pushed. She screamed as she felt the small body leave her bigger one. Troy stared in disbelief as he listened to the screams of his daughter. He watched the nurses grab her to clean her off as he looked over at his wife.

"You did it baby. She's here." Troy leaned his forehead on hers as the two listened to their daughter cry with tears in their eyes.

"Congratulations mommy." The nurse placed their daughter in Gabriella's arms as the new parents looked at her in awe.

"Hi baby girl. Happy Birthday" Gabriella whispered in her daughter's hair as she kissed her forehead. She looked over at Troy who had tears falling down his face. The two connected in a kiss as she handed their daughter off to her father. Troy looked down at his daughter and before he knew it, he was hooked. The same way he was when he had first seen his wife.

"Hey princess. Daddy's here" Troy kissed her forehead as the nurse asked the new parents what her name would be. Troy smiled over at his wife as she nodded her head.

"Summer Rose Bolton." Gabriella smiled as the nurse nodded her head and took down the name before leaving the room. She turned her head and gasped as she looked at the chart.

"Troy look at the date." Troy tore his eyes away from his daughter to look over at the chart and what he saw made his heart swell.

JULY 14th

The two brand new parents turned to look at each other with smiles before Troy leaned in and kissed his wife and mother of his child.

July 14th was like any other day. It was just a regular day to anyone. It meant summer for all students, it meant BBQ's and family vacations but to Troy and Gabriella Bolton, it was so much more.
