„Do you think there is any way to check where Keen without asking him about it?" Ryan asked when they returned to the precinct.
"I think so… But let's not talk about it now" Kate replied, pretending to have just found something interesting in her notes.
Kevin was surprised by her behavior. After a while, however, he heard a joyous "hello" that could belong to only one person. Peter Keen appeared before them and offered his help in the investigation. Again.
"Listen, I took your words to heart" he said to Beckett. "As I said I'm going to help you, it's full-blown. What should I do?"
The detectives looked at each other. The sudden "help" from the psychologist confirmed their assumptions that he was behind all this. On the other hand, they could not speak openly about their assumptions now.
"We search again Ian's finances and phones. If you want to help it I can give you a few pages." She said.
Kate slipped into Tori. She wanted to know if she could tell by GPS in Peter's cell phone where he was at the time of the murder. But she couldn't spend too much time there. Then Keen would have become suspicious. After all, she said she only goes to the toilet. It was clear to her that the psychologist had reappeared at the police station to watch over them. Fortunately, Tori had nothing important to do and could take some time. Beckett gave her a psychologist number. They waited for a while for the machine to start working. If they could determine where Keen was, it would make things very easy. Either he would become an official suspect or he would be cleared of any charges. Unfortunately, it turned out that Peter had the GPS locator turned off and were unable to trace his where he was. She left the room resigned. She was about to return to her desk when the phone rang.
"Hi, baby. When will you come home?" The voice on the other side of a phone asked.
"Probably late, Castle."
"And cannot I help you somehow?"
"After all, you know that you cannot lean out if we are to arrest the one who framed you."
"I know… but…"
"You know what? I think you can help me." Kate looked like she was suddenly dazzled.
"Really?" Rick's voice became more alive.
"But you have to promise me that you will do exactly what I tell you. No self-propelled."
"Okay …" in his voice there was a reluctance, but the desire to help in the investigation was stronger.
Kate gave her husband a plan she had just come up with.
"Just remember, call me as you will be on the spot." With these words she said goodbye to her husband.
With a decisive step, she walked up to her desk and asked the men sitting nearby if they had found anything interesting. Kevin stated that nothing that could help them was in the papers he was looking through. Keen, on the other hand, claimed that a pair of phones raised his concerns. He began exchanging all the numbers that stopped appearing after his death. Unfortunately for him, the cops checked them beforehand. They belonged to his wife and employees who stopped calling because they found out about Ian's death. Their lively discussion about who they should look at stopped the phone. Kate picked it up.
"Do you wanna say that you found a weapon?" She said to the handset, having heard what the interlocutor had to say to her. "O… you got zinc... There is a witness?... Waiting at the place of concealment of weapons ... I understand... I'll send someone there…"
Throughout the conversation, Kate watched Keen's reaction. Initially, it would seem that he does not pay attention to who the policewoman is talking to. However, when he heard that the weapon was found immediately faded. However, he tried to hide the fact that it touched him, but Beckett had too many times to deal with a person who was trying to conceal something so that it would escape her. The news of the witness caused the psychologist to slowly withdraw. Something bubbled that he had to go to the toilet for a while, but for Kate it was clear that he had to check if the gun was still where he left it. After a while, he disappeared into the elevator.
At the same time, Kevin was already standing in full readiness.
"Are we going?" He couldn't hide his excitement.
"Wait, I'll turn on the speaker" Kate pulled the phone away from her ear. "Castle, you can say hello to detective Ryan."
"Hi, we haven't seen each other for a long time" the writer's voice came to them from the phone.
"Did you talk to Castle?" Kevin seemed disappointed.
"He'll helps us."
