Author's Notes; Dark Armors AU. POVs. X's POV this time around, but Zero comes back in at the end. Some Shounen Ai. Here, X describes when Zero returned to HQ after Nethersbane's influence changed his appearance and how Corruption changes his own appearance. Please enjoy. We've moved into the new house, so output rate should pick up in a few days..
I was quite surprised when Zero returned to HQ in such an odd change of armor and the two scythes. Many didn't recognize him and thought he was an intruder trying to mimic our Commander, abeit poorly. I was waiting patiently for him outside the Commander's office, watching our remaining forces stare at him as he passed. I also was suspicious until he came to me. "Commander?" I asked. He grinned and nodded. "Great job out there." I blushed a little. "Thanks, but why do you look so..different? What happened?" He explained to me his adventure in that old reploid factory and the strange weapons he had found in his travels. He then offered me the haloed scythe, telling me his suspicions.
I could see this scythe being offered to me glowing brightly in a light blue. It almost seemed to call to me. I wasn't so sure about these feelings I was having. I had never tried using a melee weapon before. That was more his thing. When I had finally mustered even a little courage, I touched and took the blade. Zero smiled when I did. "Come with me. I want to show you something."
He took me into the training room and walked me towards the large mirrors opposite the controls for the training simulations. Immediately I noticed something was off. My armor had changed colors. This has happened before, but never yet like this. My armor was now mostly black and light blue with a red collar with a sort of purple red diamond in the center. My chest plate had turned a deep purple. "What...What in the world?" Zero grinned at me in the mirror. "So, I was right. You're Corruption's master. These scythes grant their masters strange powers, though neither of us know said powers just yet." I looked at him. "I imagine there is only one way to find out?" Zero nodded deeply. "Yes, I'm afraid so. However, if you're willing, I'd like to train you will this scythe. You've never used melee weapons before and I think now is as good a time as any." I shrugged with a grin. "I suppose you're the best option with Sigma gone."
X was interrupted by the press. "Do you still have the other sickle?" One reporter asked. X nodded deeply and went to the same room I had gotten Nethersbane from. When he came back out, his colors were the same as he had described. The crystal and eye of Corruption glowed in resonance with the diamond and crystal point on Nethersbane. The press gasped at both X and the glowing both scythes were doing. "What is wrong with the weapons?" Another reporter asked.
"Should we answer that, Commander?" X asked. I shook my head. "That would spoil a later part of the story. We'll keep them in suspense for a little while. No sense in ruining it." I answered with a smirk.
