Zaban City, a Large Prosperous city known for its trade and goods as well as the occasional tourist hotspot. However, Unbeknownst to the normal population a secret test is about to unfold where many have tried and only select few have ever succeeded.

Tonpa or as some select few like to call him "Tonpa The Rookie Crusher" was scouting this year's competition.

Tonpa was a short fat man, he had brown combed back hair and brown eyes, he was dressed in a white long-sleeved shirt, a dark blue vest, white sweatpants, a satchel over his shoulder, and lastly, he had on simple slip on shoes.

Tonpa had already given some of the applicant's his super laxative juice, including applicant 99 a little kid by what Tonpa could see but what had Tonpa concerned was the kid didn't seem to affected by the drink at all.

Tonpa began scanning the crowd for his next victim and saw a young man in his late-Twenties with the applicant badge number 62 standing by the wall of the cavern.

He had dirty blond hair almost brown that was parted on the right side and it almost covered his right eye while he let the rest of his hair hang from the sides near the top of his ears, His eyes were dark blue almost midnight, he had a tan trench coat with a brown leather patch that covered the upper back, on his back is what looked like a six foot long nodachi, On his hands he had fingerless gloves on with the index and middle fingers missing from the gloves, under his coat was a sleeveless black vest with multiple pockets, and to finish it off he had black combat pants with two revolvers at his thighs and black combat boots.

Tonpa smirked thinking he had another sucker and went to approach the young man with a can of his "special juice" at the ready

When he was close enough, Tonpa spoke up saying "Hey friend, my name is Tonpa I'm actually a veteran at this, it's actually my thirty-fifth attempt in fact"

Tonpa finished his greeting with a smile but the young man simply stared at him with a glare.

Tonpa Sweat dropped before he recovered and said "here have a juice on me your probably thirsty from your travels to get here".

The young man accepted the can before he opened it and took a quick whiff.

He then turned the can over spilling its contents on the deep cavern floor.

Next, before Tonpa could even react the young man grabbed the can and slammed it into Tonpa's forehead crushing the can.

"Arrrgggh" Tonpa screamed in pain as he took a couple steps back while cradling his forehead but the young man wasn't finished.

he quickly grabbed Tonpa by his throat and slammed him into the ground before the young man leaned down to Tonpa and said in a deathly calm voice " If you ever come near me again, I'll kill you."

With that said Applicant 62 walked back to the wall where he had been standing at and continued to wait for the exam to start like all the other hunter's to be.

Tonpa was sweating bullets as he stood back up and he quickly realized he never should have talked to number 62 let alone offer him a drink.

Tonpa swallowed a lump he had in his throat since he had never been more scared and he has seen some pretty scary applicants over these past 35 hunter exams.

As Tonpa was walking away number 99 approached him again asking him for another drink. He had snow white hair spiked in all directions with icy blue eyes, he had on a blue long-sleeved shirt and a white t-shirt over it, he had a yellow and red skateboard in his right hand, and to finish his ensemble he had on blue shorts and red tennis shoes.

"Uh, sure I have another one" Tonpa said while handing over another super laxative juice to the kid.

" I don't get it there's enough Laxative in those juices to put even a horse out of commission and yet this kid drank two of them" Tonpa thought.

The kid finished the drink with a content sigh saying " Thanks Mr. Tonpa, that was good"

Tonpa had an uneasy smile as he said "yeah, no problem"

As number 99 walked away he said one last thing to Tonpa that freaked him out " by the way that was a nice try but poisons don't work on me"

Over by the wall Number 62 had heard what number 99 said and if you looked closely you could see his eyes widen in surprise but then quickly return to normal.

"There's only two types of people who are able to train themselves to resist poisons, the first obviously being Hunter's. The second is the not so obvious, ASSASSIN'S." he thought to himself while watching number 99 walk away from Tonpa. He then finished his thought while thinking "I can't rush my Judgement right now I need to be sure. The only way I can do that is to see him fight so, for now I'll watch him closely."

Suddenly one of the walls began to rise up in the cavern and once the wall completely retreated, an extremely tall lanky man wearing a midnight blue suit with a red ascot was revealed.

His hair was a steel grey in the shape of a powdered wig, he had a long curly mustache, and his lips were so small you could even say he didn't have any.

The tall gentlemen stood there and said "Sorry for the delay, thank you for waiting. The Entry period for hunter applicants is officially closed, without further ado let the Hunter exam begin!"

As he began turn around he paused and looked back towards the applicant's and said "Oh and one final word of Caution if your short on luck and ability keep in mind there is a very real chance you could be seriously injured, death is also a distinct possibility, if you're willing to accept the risks I ask you to follow me now."

he then turned around fully and spoke loudly "All right all 404 applicants will now begin phase one of the Hunter Exam." with that said and done the tall man in the suit began to march down the long dark tunnel of the cavern with one arm and one leg rising up high before he stepped with his other leg and arm while copying the motion.

After a few minutes the tall gentlemen began to pick up the pace and the hunter applicants started running to keep up "How rude of me. I neglected to introduce myself. I am Satotz, your Examiner for the First Phase of the Exam. It's my responsibility to lead all of you to the Second Phase." the now named Satotz finished.

Suddenly an applicant with badge number 294 a so-called ninja named Hanzo spoke up "Second? Whatever happened to the first?"

Satotz simply replied "The First Phase is already underway"

Satotz spoke again once he heard the crowd murmur to themselves as they ran saying "The First Phase is quite simple. All you have to do is follow me to the Second Phase. So, try to keep up"

With that said everyone began running down the dark tunnel never knowing how long or how far they will have to go before they reach The Second Phase.
