A/N: So, I'm back! I'm try to get this done, so one chapter daily after this :) I wanted to do some more stories, but I lost the inspiration from my other stories. Let's see how far this gets before I get writer's block on this too. I realize that Nico wouldn't join Gaea in canon-verse, but this is fanfiction, I can do what I wish to Nico. Side note, I am now an emo. xD Onto the story!

"The elites as of now are as follows: Ethan Nakamura, Marisol Panthos, and Nico di Angelo. If your name was called, report to the main office for updated weaponry."

Nico, Ethan, and Marisol gave a sharp nod to the instructor before heading down to the main office. Ethan hung back slightly to walk with Nico. They didn't talk, as per usual, rather than walk just to remind himself that the son of Hades was here, and that he wouldn't be fighting against him. It was really what kept him going sometimes, the fact that he wouldn't have to fight Nico di Angelo, the current object of his affections. Not that anyone else would know, especially Nico himself.

Nico smelt the familiar scent of orange, rosemary, and pine. Something was off about it though then he placed it. He was very careful about this when bringing it up, "Ethan," He started in a whisper, "Your scent is somewhat soured. I think you might be onto your heat?"

Ethan paled slightly, "I was starting to think that myself, I was hoping it wasn't actually what was going on." Nico nodded before Ethan spoke again, "I'll ask Vicki if I can get settled into a safe room just in case for tonight."

Vicki opened the door for them before looking them over for weaponry decisions, "Ethan, you seem to be best fitted for a dagger, I also want to see you after this. Nico, you used a sword and we can supply more Stygian Iron if you wish for another sword of that, though we will have to downsize it. Marisol, you work best ranged, throwing knifes for you." They nodded before Vicki wrote up notes and sent them down a chute to the blacksmiths.

Ethan set a hand reassuringly on Nico's shoulder before Nico left, "If what you want to see me for is what I think it is, please just settle me in now."

Vicki nodded, "You were guessing the heat problem? I figured you would be notified by Nico, you two have gotten quite close. I will get you set up in one momentarily, you dagger will be ready by then."

Ethan paced back and forth in the safe room, trying to refrain from the inevitable that was going to happen. He was going to end up jerking off, he just wanted to delay it as long as he could. The thought of a new dagger was all that was keeping him out of it, as weird as it sounds.

Nico was very visibly upset at the battle plans. They were putting him up against Hazel, his sorellina. He silently hoped they'd change them before the war took place. He also hoped that Ethan would survive. There were no more open doors of death to free him, just a small hope that Nico could manage. The Ghost King had never been this unsure of the pack alpha before, but this was his sorellina they expected him to fight. That was the battle plan, so he couldn't change it. He could hope that Charlie and Vicki did though.

A/N: Just a short getting-ready-for-war chapter :) There'll be a longer chapter next chapter! It'll be the actual war, plus a little bit of romance played off as stress, and not spoken of between Ethan and Nico again. I don't have time to upload a second chapter today, so watch out for two chapters dropping in tomorrow! Bye! :D
