The story bellw, isn´t one of the AUs i have been writting, insteas, it is just a missing scene from episode 5 from season 1.

Honestly, i dont remember the episode name, but there´s a scene there that Murdoch goes undercover to a tennis club only frequented by gay men. 'Close-minded' as William is (Like post of people in that time) he got ashamed to give his real name and told someone there his name was George Crabtree.

I don´t know if he had told George that in the real show, but just for this story, lets pretend he didnt.

Other than that, i don´t know if there´s a recepcionist at the police station, but for this story, it does.

Hope you like.

Good Readong.

TWO GORGES

With the case closed, things get back to normal, at least for the day at Police Station number four. The Inspector give some phone calls, Dr. Odgen decided to clean the morgue, Detective Murdoch took care of paperwork, while the policemen gone to their round around town. It was a good day indeed.

When George Crabtree came back to the station for his lunchbreak that afternoon, Mrs. Baxter, the front desk receptionist, called him aside, telling him a man was awaiting for him at the waiting room.

''But i…'' the old woman starts ''I have to tell you, Mr. Crabtree, using Dt. Murdoch´s words, the man appears to be a 'sodomite'' she said, but even so, George decided to talk to him.

Once arriving at the waiting room, George found a very handsome and well grooming man sitting there, holding a few flowers, while reading a book.

''Good afternoon, Sir, I'm Constable George Crabtree, Mrs. Baxter said you are waiting for me?'' George asked, ignoring the other officers look, however, Mr. Gray, the man in question, looked at him with a frown.

''No, you are not'' he said and George was taken aback.

''I beg your pardon?'' the officer cough ''I just told you i´m the one you are looking for and I ask, what you want with me?''

''Excuse me officer, but you can´t be George Crabtree'' Mr. Gray insist.

''May I ask why?''

''A few days ago, appear a handsome man there, at the club, he introduces himself to Jeffrey as George Crabtree''

''I see…'' George Agreed confuse ''Sir, may I ask how this George look like?''

''Oh, he was handsome, black heir, brown eyes, not very tall… he was a bit nervous while talking to Jeffrey… anyway, Jeffrey said I could find him here…'' he said and George nodded

''Sir, I may insist, I am Constable Crabtree… and even so, I believe I'm the only George working at this station.'' George was a bit confuse, the descriptions the man give to him, remind him of Dt. Murdoch, but he wasn't understanding why.

Meanwhile, while George was talking to Mr. Gray, Detective William Murdoch finished his paperwork and was about to leave the station, when the sight of that man, made him wanting to hush back to his office, just to bump at Dr. Ogden, who was walking behind him.

''William, its everything okay?'' she chuckled, and he blush.

''If… if I appear dead, I'm sure George will be the one to blame…'' he said and she got confused.

''What? William, why George would kill you?'' she laughs.

''The other day…'' he started ''When I went undercover to the Tennis Club… I got ashamed and don't wanting to say my real name, I just told the men there, my name was George Crabtree, instead of William Murdoch.''

''To Jeffrey? William, it was mean of you, not only with George, but with Jeffrey to.'' Julia reprehend him, but then, took a deep breath. ''Go back to your office, I will take care of this.'' She said and once he did she walk toward George and Mr. Gray.

''Julia… Dr. Ogden, thanks god you are here, could you tell this man…'' he started, but Julia Laugh.

''Constable Murdoch, let the inspector know you are upsetting this citizen!'' Julia blink in George direction and turn to the man ''Good afternoon, Sir, my name is Julia Ogdon, i´m the inspector´s secretary…'' she lied ''Can we help you?''

''For the tenth time…'' Mr. Gray snapped ''i´m looking for a George Crabtree and this man…''

''Ah, apparently Constable Murdoch here got a bit confuse, he just starts to work here last month, there isn't any George Crabtree here… right, William?'' she growled back to George.

''Yeah, right!'' George agreed ''Yeah, I got confused, thought I knew the George you were talking about…'' he was saying, but Julia pinch him on the back.

Furious then, Mr. Gray throw the flowers into the waste basked and left the station mothering under his breath. Once he did, George turn to Julia still confused and asked what happened.

''You better talk to Dt. Murdoch, George, he knows better than I'' she said patting his arm and leaving.

''I´m sorry George, I really do, I was so ashamed to say my name there in that club… I give the first name that came to mind'' he said ''Sorry my young friend.'' Murdoch said.

For a minute, George stood in silence, but then, the constable just smiled and nodded ''Well, you really put me in a hard situation, Sir'' George said.

''Yes and I apologize'' the older man said

''Apology taken'' George agreed ''But Sir…''

''Yes, George?''

''If it happens again, I will be tempted to go to a bar, get drunk and tell everyone my name is William Murdoch'' he laughed and left to do his job, leaving the detective with a frown.
