Chapter 4: Stowaway on the Ship
Meanwhile, Ben was on a large examination table in the lab when Tetrax spoke to him.
"Ready?", Tetrax asked.
"Would 'no' be an option?", Ben asked a bit nervously.
"Does it even look safe for him?", Emily asked in agreement.
"Don't worry. I've had many of these tests performed on myself. Never felt a thing.", Tetrax responded.
"But don't you have hard, Diamond-like skin?", Julie asked as Tetrax put on his gloves.
"Uh... good point. Let's get started.", Tetrax responded before he put his helmet on and activated the holo-panels, using them to lower the machine a little bit before lowering the examination table and then the machine again before it ran a scan on Ben with red lines up until they touched the symbol of the Omnitrix, Ben opened his eyes to find himself in a blue void of space before a green hologram of him moved away from Ben and then focused primarily on the Omnitrix's hologram before it was pulled apart gently piece by piece with no luck so far as holographic pieces of the Omnitrix moved past Ben.
"Can't find Azmuth's DNA signature anywhere.", Tetrax spoke.
"Any ideas where it could be?", Emily asked.
"When my dad got my mom a watch for their anniversary, he had them engrave some writing at the back of it.", Ben responded.
"Of course.", Tetrax spoke in realization before he put the holographic Omnitrix back together and turned it around before the blue void turned black as the holographic Omnitrix got closer and less holographic before white stars appeared in a random pattern.
"Found it.", Tetrax spoke before Ben, Julie, and Emily grinned.
Later, Tetrax was looking up the information on Azmuth's whereabouts.
"Now, we can scan for the being with that DNA Composition.", Tetrax spoke as he did so before noticing a troubling answer.
"That can't be right.", Tetrax spoke.
"What's wrong?", Emily asked.
"According to this, Azmuth is on Incarcicon, the Prison Planet.", Tetrax responded.
"What?", Emily puzzled.
"The creator of the Omnitrix is in some Space Slammer? Why?", Ben asked.
"Unknown, but it's home to the scummiest of the scum of the universe. Lay a course to Incarcicon.", Tetrax responded while also calling out to Gorvan and Gluto.
"Not sure this is a good idea, but...setting coordinates now.", Gorvan spoke as he and Gluto started to lay a course when Emily's Omni-Enhancer beeped and flashed.
"Huh? It's from...Azmuth?", Emily puzzled before she pulled up the dial, which then showed a hologram of Azmuth in front of her.
"Emily, can you hear me?!", Azmuth asked urgently.
"Yeah. I can hear you. And I can see you, too. Ben, Julie, and I heard about the self-destruct mode in the Omnitrix and we were just going to look for you on Incarcicon when we get there.", Emily responded.
"First of all, I'm not on Incarcicon. I'm on the planet Zenon. And second of all, the Omnitrix is not the only thing in danger of self-destructing.", Azmuth responded.
"What? What are you saying?", Julie asked.
"Emily's Omni-Enhancer is connected to the Omnitrix and if it explodes, so will your Omni-Enhancer, destroying the entire universe along with it!", Azmuth responded, making Emily and Julie gasp.
"And that is why you all have to get to Zenon as fast as you can.", Azmuth urged before the call ended just as the ship's alarm rang out.
"Don't worry, Azmuth. We'll get there soon.", Emily assured before the hologram call ended.
"I hope...", Emily spoke nervously.
"Tetrax, there's a security breach on the lower level.", Gorvan reported to Tetrax.
"That could only mean one thing. We have an intruder.", Tetrax guessed as he turned around to face Ben, Julie, and Emily.
Later, Ben, Julie, Emily, Tetrax, and Gorvan were headed out toward the panel to get back to the lower level of the ship.
"But how would someone get inside this ship?", Julie asked.
"We have to assume the worst. If we split up, we can cover more ground.", Tetrax stated as the panel then started going down the lower level.
"Especially XLR8.", Ben responded.
"And don't forget about his partner in crime.", Emily added as she and Ben pressed down on each of their dials and transformed, surrounded by green and blue lights before they dimmed down to show Ben and Emily, now Wildmutt and Vulpinine with Tetrax and Gorvan as the former growled discontentedly.
"Good thinking. The Vulpimancer's keen senses should be able to sniff out the intruder.", Tetrax stated.
Then, Wildmutt growled happily from hearing that.
"All right. Let's get sniffing.", Vulpinine grinned before she and Wildmutt set off to search for the intruder as they, Julie, Tetrax, and Gorvan split up.
For the latter three's case, they moved forward cautiously up until they heard a noise before they armed themselves with their weapons.
"Stay where you are!", Gorvan shouted before Wildmutt, Vulpinine, and Julie walked out from the other side and saw them.
"It's just us, Gorvan.", Vulpinine assured.
"Oh. I see. False alarm.", Gorvan responded as he bolstered his weapons before he and Tetrax continued looking as did Vulpinine and Wildmutt.
However, Vulpinine spotted something, or rather, someone.
"Wait. I think I see something. Or someone, for that matter. That has to be the intruder. Come on.", Vulpinine spoke before she and Wildmutt ran forward and then turned left and right in that order before pouncing on said intruder, only for her to shout in a too familiar voice.
"Hey! Paws off, you two!", Gwen exclaimed.
"What? Gwen?!", Vulpinine exclaimed in surprise as Wildmutt growled at the sight of Gwen, who was now in her new clothes from the mall.
"Save the mad dog routine, will ya?", Gwen asked.
"What are you doing here?", Julie puzzled.
"It's not like I want to be here, but I figured you three could use some backup.", Gwen responded as she brushed the dust off her sleeve.
"Look, Gwen, as nice of you to help as it is, I don't think you understand how dangerous it is right now.", Vulpinine responded as Wildmutt groaned in growls and walked off, inadvertently pressing a button right in front of him, causing an alarm to blare out with red flashes before the back of the ship opened with Gwen, Julie, Wildmutt, and Vulpinine looking on with shock and worry.
