It was the day after the bull shark hunt when Kyle saw movement in the swamps during his off time from his fathers reach.
He thought it was the carp swimming around and hunting but it was actually a sighted grey fin.
He went to take a closer look when it jumped and he saw the pup bull shark with a large thin fish in its jaws, flaying to escape with the pup shaking it violently even as it hit the water again.
he didn't think the pup could survive in a rather dangerous environment as the swamps without its mother, it gave him insight that even a predator so small and fragile, it is a born to survive through the thickest depths of water, they were the top of the food chain. (After the extinction of the dinosaurs of course)
He tried looking through the swampy green water to find the shark and suddenly the water sprouted with the baby bull shark leaping at him, kyle surprised stumbled back almost falling on the wooden port before straightening himself, landing on the port flaying before it jumped back into the water again.
while a bit apprehensive of that little sneak attack from the predator, he looked at the port and saw blotches of blood on the port that trailed similar to the sharks path.
He looks with caution but with curiosity as he still couldn't see anything. until a huge noise caught his attention in the middle of the swamp was almost four carps and the bull pup flying in his direction and landing on the port, following in the pups direction one of the carps landed near him and flopping to the pup.
he was hesitant cause well, nature is nature whether one animals dies it suddenly becomes its life source to continue on, but he felt kind of responsible of the death of the pup's mother with his fathers actions and decided.
He, with several tries of grabbing the slippery carp away from the still flopping pup, led the carp back into the swamp waters and quickly and carefully with the pups fins and gills, the noticable scar a bit fresh but healing already he noted, ran to the other side of the swamp, in his hands the pup was squirming, so it won't face the carps immediately.
He reached the side of another nearby port and let the slippery, still moist skin from the pup slide from his hands into the water with a small plop of water splashing on his blue jeans.
His heart racing a little, after that and now when visible from the water the pup was there, sideways with one black eye on him but didn't try to fly at him again. he was confused as it stared and then disappearing from plain sight into the swamp.
He was a bit disappointed but happy, he at least saved the bull shark pup, she was really fiery pup to try and take on a carp like that size (multiple carps actually)
Kyle got up and headed back to his car, not noticing that the small bull shark was still following him until the swamp ended as he was going on the trail back to the road.
while trying to fish in the ocean his father noticed his unusual attitude. His father was not a subtle man at all when it came to curiosity, "what's wrong? Is something on my face?"
"you're unusually quiet. you didn't even argue about my complaining with your choice of college." his father gruffy said beside him.
"i can't be happy on the boat for just a second pops? he gave a glance to his pops before focusing on the ocean again.
"..." his white haired father, with his half white-red beard and a right hook arm, let out a hm before becoming quiet again.
The ocean, even with tense atmosphere with his pops, was nice.
So as you can see these chapter will be short and please forgive me. My interest was like slowly being lowered until I keep watching documentaries on sharks and shark bites from tv shows.
