Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix
Chapter 8: Hostile Takeover
Ben and Emily were still trying to use the controls when the two gyro pods got dangerously closer to the wall before two braced themselves for the crash only for the pods to turn right before it could crash, giving them some relief.
"Whew. That was close.", Emily sighed in relief.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Now, I got it.", Ben spoke as he then grabbed the handles on each side as a targeting system appeared in the monitor before the pod's turrets opened up and dashed left and right, avoiding the obstacles ahead.
"Wow. Ben, how did you know it'd do that?", Emily asked in slight surprise.
"This isn't so tough once you figure it out.", Ben smirked in reply.
Then, the pods went underneath a small catwalk before then moving upward and turning back toward the ship, passing Vilgax's ship as the turrets raised up and fired while four more drones were sent after them.
"One of these has to be a cool ray gun or something!", Ben urged.
"Forget about that, Ben. We have to at least shake them off with what we know.", Emily retorted just as Ben was trying to figure out how to activate and use the blaster the pod might have, not knowing that the drones were catching up to them.
Meanwhile, inside Tetrax's ship, the drones were searching everywhere as Gwen and Julie cautiously looked back to spot them before looking toward the simulation room.
"That's it. Maybe we can trap them in there.", Julie whispered before Gwen gave a smirk with her and Julie then proceeding inside.
Elsewhere, Tetrax opened a sort of panel and got out a spare space suit for Myaxx.
"What are you doing?", Myaxx puzzled.
"We're going outside. We need to free the Resolute from Vilgax's ship.", Tetrax stated as he gave the suit to Myaxx and then opened a small compartment up top before giving one laser gun to Myaxx and getting out another.
"Me? Outside? In space? Oh, no. I'm more of a land-based species.", Myaxx refused as she shook her head.
"If we don't clear those tethers by the time we hit Zenon's gravitational pull, both ships will be destroyed in re-entry.", Tetrax explained.
"Well, when you put it that way...", Myaxx responded.
Meanwhile, Vilgax, Kevin, and Sixsix entered the cockpit bay and noticed only the suit at the controls.
"Looks like there's no one here.", Kevin spoke.
"It appears we have scared the co-pilot right out of his skin.", Vilgax guessed, not knowing that Gluto was seeping into the cracks near the main control hub.
"Let's see if you can still talk trash about my co-pilot when I'm done with you, Vilgax.", Gorvan whispered as he glared at Vilgax from the other side of the wall, holding onto his weapons.
Then, Vilgax turned and noticed Tetrax and Myaxx severing the tethers from the Resolute from the monitor.
"Stop them!", Vilgax ordered before Sixsix went out and then headed out the way he went in.
Then, just as Gluto smothered up behind Vilgax, Kevin noticed after turning from the monitor to Vilgax.
"Slime guy at 6 o'clock!", Kevin warned.
"What?!", Vilgax spoke admiringly he turned around right before Gluto wrapped himself around the Chimeran's head with Vilgax trying to get Gluto off him before he eventually tossed Gluto off him toward a wall.
Then, suddenly a blast hit Kevin in the back, knocking him back to the wall before he turned around and saw Gorvan.
"That was for my little buddy.", Gorvan spoke.
Meanwhile, the drones were still following and attacking Ben and Emily's gyro pods as they tried to swerve away from them, even passing by Tetrax and Myaxx just outside.
"Ben, Emily, get back to the ship!", Tetrax urged.
"Don't you think we're trying?", Emily shouted in response.
Then, Ben pressed a button and caused the four floor panels to go up with a slight jerk, knocking Ben back before his feet landed on the 2nd and 3rd panels, causing the pod's lasers to fire at an asteroid, exploding it and also fire a secondary weapon toward one of the drones from behind before Emily spoke to Ben.
"Nice shot, Ben.", Emily grinned.
"Thanks.", Ben responded before he went through the smoke where the asteroid used to be, turned back around, and began firing on the drones with green laser turrets with Emily then learning to do the same.
"All right!", Ben spoke excitedly before his pod shook, urging Ben to look from behind and notice more drones inbound before speeding off with the drones following in pursuit.
Meanwhile, inside the ship, the drones went inside and spotted Gwen and Julie near the computer monitor and aimed their weapons at the two girls, only for the latter to speak up as the former raised her hand and conjure a spell as a blue orb formed around her hand.
"I wouldn't be standing there if I were you.", Julie warned with a smirk.
"Segma sofum!", Gwen incanted before the three hoverboards flew from the wall and each hit one drone two times.
"Yes! Wipeout!", Gwen exclaimed.
After that, Julie pressed the button on the panel before she and Gwen ran off just as the simulation difficulty increased with Julie and Gwen already outside before the door closed in front of the two girls, trapping the drones inside before Julie and Gwen looked out from the door to see the drones then getting spun out of control, making Julie giggle a bit before she and Gwen ran ahead, not knowing that Malware was close by.
At the control bay, Kevin spoke to Gorvan.
"You know something? You just made a big mistake.", Kevin smirked before then mutating back into his mutant form, which is a reddish-pink version of Four Arms but with an upper left arm belonging to Heatblast, an upper right arm belonging to Diamondhead, and lower arms belonging to Wildmutt along with Stinkfly's wings, XLR8's tail, Ghostfreak's eye track on his chest, and an upper back resembling Upgrade's with his head still retaining his hair and eyes except that he has two left eyes belonging to Four Arms, a right eye belonging to Grey Matter, and Ripjaws' lure, teeth, mouth/jaw interior, and gills.
"I hope you're not letting that power-up go to your head!", Gorvan glared before getting out his weapons and blasting at Kevin, who only smirked as he evaded the blasts by flying with his wings and then dashing toward Gorvan, about to knock him back towards a wall before the tetramand caught his arm and only slid back as he was busy keeping Kevin's fist at bay.
"Nah. I'm just that good.", Kevin smirked.
"Really? I don't see it that way.", Gorvan responded before he then struck back at Kevin, pushing him back toward a wall just in time for Gorvan to see Gluto fighting Vilgax as he snaked past Vilgax, who tried to pound him in the ground but missed before Gluto then latched onto Vilgax's arm only to get smashed to the ground this time.
And just as Gluto started to regenerate, Vilgax picked up a floor panel and smashed it against Gluto, causing his pieces to wilt and become puddles, much to Gorvan's horror.
"No...!", Gorvan gasped in shock.
"How dare you touch me, you slime!", Vilgax growled.
"How dare you?!", Gorvan shouted, causing Vilgax to turn to notice Gorvan roaring in a rage as he charged toward him before knocking him back to the wall.
"You will live to regret this!", Vilgax growled as his arms puffed up before charging right back at him and then beating Gorvan with his arms four times until he forced Gorvan to the point of unconsciousness as Gorvan fainted.
"Remind me not to get on your bad side.", Kevin spoke to Vilgax as he caught up to him while reverting back to human form.
"You have spirit, so I will let you live. Pray we do not meet again, for next time, I will not be so merciful.", Vilgax warned.
Meanwhile, Ben was still trying to shake off the drones but to no avail as he then went in through a hole in the wall as the drones followed. As they fired while the pod neared the wall, Ben hurriedly fired with his feet in order to clear the way for him through the wall as the drones followed him close by with two drones crashing into it. Ben then braced himself before an explosion came from the other side of the wall before it cleared showing him and the remaining drones in one piece.
"Yeah! This is better than Sumo Slammer any day!", Ben grinned.
Meanwhile, at the Resolute, as Ben passed by, Tetrax and Myaxx managed to take out one tether line before noticing Ben's pod and then calling him.
"Ben, Emily, I'm opening up the rear ramp. Try to land in the cargo bay.", Tetrax urged.
"Okay. We'll try.", Ben responded before he and Emily then went over to the cargo bay, zooming past the front monitor with Vilgax and Kevin noticing.
"It's Tennyson!", Kevin shouted.
Outside, though, just as Ben and Emily pulled over to the cargo bay, the drones then latched themselves onto the former's pod, causing it to go under attack.
"Ben! Are you okay?", Emily asked worriedly.
"Don't worry about me! You get in the cargo bay and find Gwen and Julie. I'll catch up with you later.", Ben responded.
"Ben, are you sure?", Emily asked.
"Definitely. I'll shake off those drones to buy you time. Now, hurry.", Ben urged.
"Okay. But be careful out there, got it?", Emily requested before she managed to land her pod in the cargo bay and get out of it.
"Okay. I better find Gwen and Julie and make sure they're okay.", Emily stated before she made a break for the elevator floor panel on the ground.
Outside, Ben's pod went up before he noticed Sixsix nearby just behind Tetrax and Myaxx.
"Look out!", Ben warned.
Then, Sixsix zapped Tetrax and Myaxx from behind. Only Tetrax was still conscious and had to fight off Sixsix alone. Then, Ben noticed the drones attacking him before seeing Tetrax fighting Sixsix and then going in to help him. After that, just as Tetrax was knocked back to the side of the ship, Sixsix then turned to notice Ben headed right for him before getting blasted as his mask cane apart, exposing his monstrous face as he was sent careening away in space as Ben then turned around only to find himself under attack by the drones.
Meanwhile, Gwen and Julie were in the control bay looking around.
"Gluto? Gluto!", Gwen called.
"Where could he be?", Julie puzzled before Emily caught you to Gwen and Julie.
"Guys! Are you okay?", Emily asked.
"Yeah. None the worse for wear.", Emily responded before Julie looked down to her left and saw Gluto's remains underneath the panel, not to mention an unconscious Gorvan.
"Guys? Look.", Julie urged, pointing to them.
"Oh, no. Gluto...! And Gorvan...!", Emily gasped as Gorvan gave slight groans.
Just then, Malware's voice spoke up, catching the trio's attention as they gasped and turned to notice him.
"How unfortunate that unlike how Vilgax was to that Tetramand, I am not so generous towards the likes of you humans, especially those who ally themselves with Tennyson. So I do believe this is farewell.", Malware threatened as he charged his disruptor cannon.
Suddenly, Gluto sprang to life and lunged at Malware's blaster.
"What?!", Malware exclaimed in surprise right before the evil galvanic mechamorph fired his disruptor cannon, not only blasting him to pieces, but also knocking him back to the wall with a thud as pieces of Gluto scattered and went inside Gwen and Emily's mouths undetected just as one landed on Julie's shirt before noticing that Gluto was now in pieces.
"NO!", Gwen, Emily, and Julie shouted.
Then, Malware laughed as he recovered.
"I'd like nothing better than to drain you all to empty shells, but I have other matters to tend to.", Malware spoke before taking off.
"No...! You're not getting away!", Emily shouted before she ran after Malware.
"Emily, wait!", Gwen and Julie shouted.
Meanwhile, Ben tried the best he could to get to the cargo bay before ejecting just right before the pod was destroyed as he slid on the ground as the bay doors closed and got up just in time to notice Emily shouting to Malware as she was chasing him.
"You can't run from me, you coward!", Emily shouted viciously in anger.
"Emily? Hey!", Ben shouted as he waved to her before Emily turned to notice Ben.
"Ben! You're okay!", Emily shouted with overwhelming relief as she shed tears and ran to hug him.
"Thank goodness.", Emily sighed sadly.
"How touching. But then, final reunions usually are.", Malware sneered as Ben and Emily turned to see not only him, but also Kevin and Vilgax.
"Hello, Ben.", Vilgax smirked.
"Kevin? You, too?", Emily puzzled in slight shock.
"If you're running, you'd better start.", Kevin warned.
