"I just don't understand why we can't just go to see Magnus instead of all this." Clary grumbled as they walked into the hospital.

"Because Magnus and Alec are on vacation and I don't want to call and disturb their... activities." Jace gave her a pointed look, "I've called in on that enough to know it is not a good idea. He probably won't pick up, and even if he does, I do not want to hear more than what is necessary."

Clary sighed, "Whatever."

"Excuse me, I have an appointment scheduled with Dr. Cahill?" Jace said to the receptionist as they approached her desk.

"Just one second," She replied, looking through some files.

Jace turned back to Clary, "It's just for a little while. The doctor will find out what's wrong and then you can get better."

"Clary Fray?" She asked.

"Yes," Jace replied.

"Room no. 206," She said.

Jace hurried forward. Clary gave the receptionist a hasty thanks and caught up with Jace, Jace slowing down when he saw her struggling to keep up.

"Come on, shorty." He teased her.

"Shut up Jace," She muttered, walking relatively faster than before. She looked shockingly angry, and Jace realised that his words might've hurt her more than he thought. He cursed himself for bringing her height up so soon after she finally rid herself of her insecurities.

"Aww I was just kidding. You're perfect. I'm sorry..." Jace looked like a kicked puppy at this point. Clary, unable to resist, reached up and kissed him. Before it could turn heated, they were interrupted by a cough. They looked up and saw doctor, a middle aged woman with curly brown hair and blue eyes, smiling at them.

"I'm sorry to interrupt. I'm Dr. Cahill. I assume you're here for your appointment?" She spoke with a distinctly Irish accent.

Clary cleared her throat, "Yes, I'm Clary, and this is my boyfriend, Jace."

"Come in," She led them into a room and sat down in front of a desk, gesturing for them to sit on the other side. They sat down next to each other, "So why are you here?" She asked them.

Clary and Jace looked at each other, silently communicating as to who would talk to the doctor.

"Umm, I think Clary might have a stomach bug or something of the kind. She's been waking up nauseous for the past few days, and as you can see, looks quite tired all the time." Jace explained.

Dr. Cahill was noting all of this down, "Well, I do have my doubts about what is going on, but I need to check. Before I do, do you mind if I ask you a few questions?"

"Of course not, " Clary replied.

"Do you want to ask Jace to step out if you're uneasy?"

"No, he can stay." Clary replied confidently. Jace reassuringly squeezed her hand.

"Great. So, have you been experiencing any changes in the past few days? Other than what you told me. Anything small, even?"

"Not that I can think of. Except I have been a bit more moody than usual in the last week, as much as I hate to admit it, but I'm sure that's because of something else entirely." Clary said.

"Hmm okay. Now, this question might make you a little uncomfortable, but have you both had intercourse yet?"

Clary blushed while Jace just looked confused, "Yes," Clary said very softly, so softly that the doctor wouldn't have heard her if she wasn't leaning forward.

"Last question, how long ago did you have your period?"

"8 weeks- wait... 8 weeks?" Clary's mind reeled.

"Well, it isn't certain, but I think it's safe to say, you're pregnant! I'll have to do a test to know exactly how far along you are, but I suspect about 7 weeks. Congratulations. I'm just going to step out for a moment to get your test, and then I'll explain further."

Clary sat back in her chair, her face pale, while Jace smiled widely.

"Clary, you're pregnant! We're going to be parents!" Jace grinned.

"Jace, 7 weeks. I'm 7 weeks pregnant." Clary whispered.

"Yes, I know! I-" Jace froze as he understood what Clary was saying, " Wait, No! No no no no no. Shit!" Jace sat back down and put his face in his hands.

"I'm sorry," Clary said softly, tears running down her face.

"No, it's not your fault. Don't apologise." He pulled her close to him and started rubbing circles on her back.

"What am I going to do? We're just 17, and- Don't leave me Jace, please. I'm sorry. Don't leave me." Clary hiccupped, trying to wipe her tears with the sleeve of her t-shirt.

"No, no of course I won't leave you. I'll never leave you." He looked into her eyes, "I love you Clary, and I'm never, ever, ever going to leave you. This baby might not be mine biologically, but I'm going to love it as if it is, I already do."

"Jace," She threw herself into his arms, "I love you too." She said against his chest, her words somewhat muffled,"Thank you. Thank you for staying."

"Always," He breathed, "always."

And then the doctor came in and confirmed that Clary was, in fact, pregnant with the child of the werewolf that raped her. Perhaps he was dead, maybe he found another girl to torment, but he left behind his mark, quite a few of them actually. But maybe scars can be healed, and maybe Jace would heal hers.

Okay, so I have no excuse this time. I know this chapter is really short as well, and I think stuff progresses too fast? Let me know, and I'll rewrite it if I must. I would love it if you reviewed!
