1 week later
Clary woke up in the middle of the night with Jace wrapped around her. She still hadn't started showing, but she did have quite a few symptoms. The cravings, for example, and of course, the morning sickness. She got up from the bed, careful not to wake up Jace and walked to the kitchen. While she was sifting through the closets, she heard silent footsteps behind her. She turned around and found herself staring into a pair of familiar golden eyes.
"Jace," She said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up."
"Don't ever hesitate to wake me up. What are you looking for?" Jace asked her.
"I'm hungry," She shrugged, "But I can't find anything so let's just go back to bed."
"No, don't be silly. I'll make you something."
"You, cook?" Clary cocked an eyebrow.
"I can cook," Jace said, an offended look on his face.
"Sure," She sat down on the kitchen counter, looking at Jace amusedly, "Just clean up your own mess afterwards."
"I'll show you," He huffed, "And I won't make a mess."
Ten minutes later, the kitchen was covered in flour and Jace had an egg cracked on his head. There was a cake in the oven, at least.
"You were saying?" Clary crossed her arms.
"It was your fault," Jace yelled indignantly, "You jinxed me by saying I would make a mess."
"Of course, that must be it." She hopped down from the counter, "Now let's go to the grocery store and get some chocolate." She smiled.
"At 4 in the morning?"
"Why not?" She sat on the floor.
"We're going to meet Izzy, Alec, Magnus and the bloodsucker tomorrow, or rather today, morning. I don't want you to be tired in the morning, and there's no way in hell I'm leaving you here alone." Jace mocked Clary, crossing his own arms.
"That's not fair!" She pouted.
"It is very much fair. Now you, can eat this cake, courtesy of the chef."
"Actually, I'm not hungry anymore."
"What!"
"Let's go to sleep," She smiled, standing up, her t-shirt riding up to expose her panties, as she wasn't wearing pants underneath.
"Clary," Jace groaned.
"What?" She smiled innocently.
Jace didn't respond. He instead picked her up, bridal style, and carried her to the room. Let's just say the neighbours were not going to be able to sleep peacefully that night.
"Didn't you say you didn't want me to be tired in the morning?" Clary asked, staring at the ceiling.
"It's not my fault I'm so damn irresistible." Jace smirked.
"Oh, because I'm the one who couldn't resist you, is it?" Clary questioned.
"Yes, exactly."
"Well, that's not the way I remember it. What I remember is you, carrying me like a caveman and then throwing me on the bed, again, like a caveman, and then you taking literally five minutes to come, and then you-"
"Okay, okay. I get the point." Jace's ears turned pink.
"What? I made the great Jace Herondale blush? Oh my!" Clary mock gasped.
"I'm not blushing." He huffed.
"Whatever you say. Now get up sleepyhead, we need to leave in some time, and we need to shower too."
"Can we shower together?" He waggled his eyebrows suggestively.
"Looks like we'll have to now. But no funny business, we don't have time for that. I'm meeting them after six months, and I am not going to be late." She said, sternly.
"Yes ma'am!" Jace saluted.
"Good," She said, getting out from under the covers. Jace watched as her naked hips swayed when she walked, entranced. Looks like he wouldn't be able to keep his promise this time...
Hello!
So, as you can see, this is just a filler chapter. I'll have the next one up in a few hours, hopefully. I'm sorry this is so short, but I'm in the process of flat-hunting with my brother, so I haven't gotten much time to write lately. Also, since no one has contacted me yet about the thing, I'll just resume writing, but I have to warn you; the content won't be very accurate. Please review!
Edit: Okay, so I just reread this and realised that I just randomly referred to Clary as Jace's wife? I mean, where the heck did that come from? Anyway, sorry if that confused you, but they are not married in this chapter.
