OhMyGosh! This is my 20th chapter! Eek! I've written a LOT for this story...geez. Anyway, hope y'all enjoy this chapter! It'll be pretty intense! *chuckles a bit wickedly but amusedly...? nevermind, gave up*.
On with the story!
Avy's POV
I slowly stood up, straightened myself up, and turned around. I heard everyone gasp at my now deep emerald green eyes (they all gathered around the spot where golden boy pushed him in after I dived in), but I only had eyes for one boy. I saw him pale slightly, but he stood his ground. I walked towards him, people parting way for me. I felt Quinn and Calli grab my arms and tried to hold me, but I pulled them free harshly. I even saw Mal take a step towards me about to say something but Quinn, Calli, and Ben pushed her back seeing that I had to do this. When I finally reached the golden boy, I was 3-4 feet away from him. I tried to take a deep breath to calm a bit, but I was so mad, that my eyes only grew brighter.
"You. Pushed. Him. In.," I growled out, my voice super low. I saw everyone out of the corner of my eyes flinch, even my group, but I didn't care about them at the moment. I only cared that Are almost drowned and it was all because of him.
"No-no, I didn't," he stumbled, trying to lie. I growled ever lower.
"Yes. You. Did." My eyes were filled with fury and my body was taut with tension waiting for action. He laughed nervously and tried again.
"No, I didn't. I don't know what you saw but-"
"YES, YOU DID! DON'T LIE TO ME!" I screamed at him. I saw everyone flinch and take a step back to avoid my fury. There were also quite a few fearful expressions out there.
"I'm the daughter of Maleficent and Dr. Facilier. You can't pull a fib over me," I growled. I took a step closer and he involuntarily took a step back. I heard someone in the crowd mutter, "What did you do, Chad?!" I grinned darkly.
"So, you're name's Chad. Guess I'm going to have to remember that." I knew I was gone. I was lost and I have changed back to, not who I was, but am. I was back in the ring.
"So, tell me, Chad. What possessed you to shove my friend into the lake? For all you could've known, he nor I, couldn't swim." there were gasps from the audience as they realized the significance of Chad's actin.
"You could've murdered him if I wasn't there on time." He paled significantly from this. I knew I got him. I took a step forward again.
"You tried to murder my friend, but lucky for him and you, I know how to swim while so many on the Isle kids don't. 5 kids out of 49 can, to be exact." He was paling dramatically now and seemed like he was going to pass out any second, but I was still in the ring, and I couldn't get out. I felt my clothes drying, the magic inside of me trying to do something and the action caused quite a few shocked gasps.
"So, Chad, I'm challenging you to a fight." Now there were even more gasps, Chad chuckled nervously.
"Um, we don't fight here in Auradon, unlike you do in your dump." I smiled at his lame attempt to unnerve me.
"Well then, let me tell you something about my dump of a home," I smiled darkly. "We get your trash to eat, your ruined clothes to wear, your games, and toys that you've decided to throw away. We get everything that you dump in the trash. From the rotten apple cores to the dolls missing an eye or foot. And guess what? That makes us stronger. So if you're worried about the fight not being fair enough, don't worry," I chuckled darkly. "It'll be fair. Well, as fair as fighting a gladiator and street fighter who's been fighting since she was what?" I turned to Quinn then back to Chad. "6? 7?" I heard almost everyone gasp at this in horror. I turned to face the crowd. "Yeah, that's right. You heard me. I've been fighting for 8 years, thought it might be closer to 11 or 12 since I've been searching for food for that long, and let us just say, Delivery Day, is not pretty." I turned back to Chad who looked horrified.
"So then, Chad. Do you accept my challenge with honor and dignity or without it? 'Cause, trust me, it can go either way." He chuckled trying to build up courage and replied, "I'm not fighting with a girl no matter how many years of experience she's got because Girls. Are. Weak. and So. Are. You." I saw Calli, Colt, and Quinn shake their heads out of the corner of my eye and heard Quinn mumble, "Now you've done it, idiot." I could no longer keep my magic inside. It fled and my hair came out of its' braid and started floating above my head. Then it flew to the lake and started to create massive waves, but it kept the waves inside the shoreline. Then there was rumbling under us in the ground. Rocks started falling off of the mountains, but the hit the ground without hitting anyone. Then the sky grew dark with thunder and lightning clashing nanoseconds after each other. People were shocked because it was a peaceful day with a zero probability of storms. Throughout this, I saw everyone becoming scared and freaking out, but after they saw I wouldn't let anything hurt them, they Claimed down, but only a little. Chad started becoming paler and paler until he was almost as pale as a ghost. Then my magic created a streak of emerald green in my hair that was close to my face right side. Then shields went up around everyone except Chad and me.
"Do you want to say that again, sweetie?" I asked sweetly, but there was howling fury under my skin trying to push itself out. Chad straightened, ran a hand threw his hair, smiled brightly and said, "I said, that You. Are. Weak." Instantly trees started ripping out of the ground along with boulders and they joined a hurricane of water that held emerald green lightning in it as well and it was positioned 40 feet above the lake. My eyes were bright emerald green and I knew my visible veins are green and standing out against my pale-ish skin. My hair was standing straight up and I've never felt so furious in my entire life, and that's saying something.
"You. Are. Dead.," I growled. I barely took a step forward before I saw a flash of movement then Are was standing in front of me.
"Avy, calm down. It's okay," he spoke.
"NO, it's NOT okay. That fake golden-haired arrogant little brat that gives his stepmother a run for her money, disgusted by worms, ashamed of by slimy toads, the childish boy tried to kill you!" I shouted. I saw Chad look insulted, but Are grabbed my hands and stared into my eyes.
"But I'm okay. I'm alright because you got me out. I'm fine and I'm breathing," Are coaxed. I felt the wind die down a bit, but then I saw Chad start to run off and the wind picked up even more than before. Are held my chin and guided it back towards him so I was looking straight into his eyes. Since he was taller than me by like 3 and a half inches, I had to tilt my head a bit to meet his eyes.
"Just look at me. Look into my eyes. Don't pay attention to anyone else. Just concentrate on me," he softly commanded. I listened and everything else faded away.
"Just look at me. Right at me. Don't think of anything else. Just look at me," Are continued. Slowly, I felt everything calm down. The storm went away as if it never appeared. The lake stilled. The trees went back to their spots and connected back to their roots. The boulders and rocks went back up to their mountains and cliffs. The ground repaired itself from and calmed. Then, slowly, my hair fell and my eyes slowly faded back to their normal golden-amber color.
"I'm okay, see?" Are smiled. I smiled softly back. After a moment, I felt the world started tilting and I vaguely heard an "Avy!" before I fell into someone's waiting arms. As soon as I was lifted against someone's chest, the blackness claimed me.
No One's POV
No one spoke for a long time. They've never seen that kind of power before. They thought the world was about the end because idiotic Chad did something horrible to the wrong person. Are seemed alright though. He looked a little pale but not as much as the girl he was holding in his arms. She was paler than Chad was and he was so terrified out of his wits, he was almost a ghost!
Avy was remarkable. No one in Auradon had any idea she had magic and that it was that powerful. It was terrifying she was hiding a world-ending apocalypse in her hands and yet kept it controlled. She held it back for 15 minutes until Chad called her weak, yet she still had it under control enough to not let it hurt anyone. She controlled it for 25 minutes without collapsing or hurting anyone. If she ever became a full villain like her parents, no one and nowhere would be able to survive her wrath and that was a frightening concept to behold.
The party ended sooner rather than later, though it wasn't that surprising since it got ruined by Chad's irrational, insane decision.
"Are, I should hold her because 1) she's my sister, 2) you legit almost drowned man!" Quinn said, trying to convince Are to hand over Avy, but Are shook his head firmly.
"No! When I started to hand her over to you before, we nearly got roasted and electrocuted, remember?" Quinn grimaced. Right after Avy passed out and Quinn wanted to check on her, when Are tried to hand her over, she started burning very hotly and every time she was being prepared to be handed off, Quinn and Are would get shocked. Quinn shuddered, that was painful.
"Please, Are? Just once more," he pleaded.
"No!" Are shot back. "We already tried and I don't want to get roasted alive thank you very much. Especially since I nearly drowned." Are sighed deeply and looked at Avy's very pale face. "Besides, it's my fault for her being like this."
"How can you even say that?!" Calli exclaimed, horrified. "Chad -that good-for-nothing useless moldy prince- pushed you in! None of this is your fault. It's his!" Are shook his head doubtfully.
"I should've watched my footing and surroundings better. I shouldn't have been caught off guard as much as I was."
"It's no way your fault, Are." The group heard Ben's approach along with the 4 VKs. The younger siblings immediately made a tight-knit protective wall next to and slightly in front of Are and Avy. Each of their eyes was hardened, not trusting the older kids in the least, Ben was trusted more than the others though. Ben noticed, raised an eyebrow slightly, but then lowered it and ignored the reaction, more or less. He stayed a couple of feet further away from them, like 4 and a half feet away to give them more comfort. He continued his statement.
"Chad has always been a hot-head. He'll be punished, but it will be fairly. I doubt he meant to push Are to hit his head on a rock. He doesn't have to guts nor the idiocy to do that."
"I doubt that very much," Quinn muttered under his breath, quite angrily. Ben cast a small, sad smile.
"Don't worry. He'll be punished."
"Um...it might be a good idea to not let Avy pick the punishment or be in a position to pick it. I don't doubt it will be her tor-hurting him over and over till he dies, revives him, does it again, revives him, again, and so on and so on," Calli warned. Colt chuckled without humor.
"Yep. She'd do that." At the confusion in the adults' faces, he explained.
"Avy is very protective of us. Heck, we all are. Avy's just been through-uh-different times and so she was telling us once that if anyone tried to hurt anyone of us, there would be a very dire punishment indeed." Quinn and Are chuckled a bit since that was the exact phrasing she used.
"I remember her saying that she'll hurt them till death, revive them, and do that over and over again, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're right Calli," agreed Quinn. Meanwhile the 4 VKs and Ben seemed to be getting more nervous by the moment. Ben then cleared his throat.
"So, do you need me to give you all a ride to the hospital?"
"No!" the younger VKs yelled. His eyes widened in surprise and a bit in hurt. Calli sighed and amended, "No, that won't be necessary. We'll just watch her back at the condo." Ben nodded, accepting the response, but Calli then spoke again.
"Do you think-uh-would it be alright-um-I mean, could you-um..." Ben smiled softly and quietly asked, "Yes?"
"Do you mind taking Avy's Vespa home? I don't think Avy is particularly available to drive it back," Calli finally questioned. Ben smiled and responded, "I'd be happy to." He was glad that they were all starting to trust him. Granted, it was just a small thing, but he was happy nonetheless. However, the moment got ruined by a certain overbearing older sister.
"Um, you lot need to take her to the hospital," said Mal. The lot all stiffened.
"We don't need to. We know what the problem is and we don't need to wait for hours for a hospital to tell us what we ready know," responded Quinn coldly.
"I. Don't. Care. You will take her to the hospital and that's final," commanded Mal. All of the teens' eyes grew cold and dark. Calli stepped towards her menacingly.
"And who do you think you are to give us orders?" Are harshly asked.
"Well for 1) I'm older 2) I'm smarter and more experienced and 3) I'm Avy's sister." A second later, she felt herself getting shoved into a tree. She looked into the cold, dark, and hardened eyes of Calli.
"1? We don't care and you're not the boss of us. 2? Are you? You've been livin' like a prissy pink princess your whole life and haven't dealt with the things we have. And 3? You most definitely are not Avy's sister. I am. You are just a lousy overgrown child who throws a fit when she doesn't get what she wants. You don't know everything no matter how hard it is for you to admit that. You have no right to demand us to do anything," Calli yelled. Mal glared at her.
"Of course I do! I have a right as an older sister to know!" Ma shouted back. Calli made a sound of disgust in her throat.
"No, no you don't. You have no right to stick your nosy nose into things where you don't belong. You had no idea Quinn and Avy even existed before they showed up here with us, so you have no right to immediately act all buddy-buddy with 'em, cause guess what? They're not your buddies and you're not theirs. You need to stop acting all overbearing and protective because you have no reason to be so. Yes, they are your siblings by blood, but by heart? You couldn't be further." Calli took a step back and addressed all 4 of the original VKs.
"At the moment, we don't want you in our lives. The siblings you abandoned died the day you left them. So quit harassing us and getting up in our space because we don't want you around right now. We know the main reason you wanted to have an Auradonian doctor check us out is so that you can find out if anything is up with us by reading our private files." The older siblings blanched at the truth in her words and the fact that she knew it.
"Stop shoving yourselves into things where you have no business being. Stop trying to find out private things about us and if you continue to do so, we will find out and I have no doubt that we will cease all contact with you and hide everything about ourselves. You will never see us, hear us, or be part of our lives again. And that will happen sooner than you might think if you continue to breathe down our necks or place yourselves in areas where you are not wanted. The way y'all are acting around us and treating us isn't helping your case either. We've grown up. We are no longer little kids. We haven't been for a long time. And y'all need to stop treating us lie so," Calli took a deep breath after saying everything she's been holding in for the last several days. But one more thing still needed to be mentioned.
"We don't trust you and we might never trust you fully again. Maybe if y'all treat us like adults instead of helpless babies that need to be watched over 24/7 perhaps that day may become later rather than never. We know "our" group better then you know us so, please. If you have an ounce of older sibling love, leave us alone. Or at least, let us handle ourselves."
For about two minutes, the older VKs were stunned by the outburst Calli had on them. They realized everything she said was true and that they needed to relax. Slowly they all nodded. The younger siblings were relieved and satisfied while Ben was proud. He knew that his friends felt bad but they needed to chill.
"Ben," he heard. He turned towards Colt and raised his brows. To say he was surprised would be a bit of an understatement, but he nodded his head Colt to proceed.
"Thank you." Okay, now he was thoroughly confused.
"For what?" he wondered. Colt shrugged, then answered, "I dunno. Just for being patient and willing to wait for us. And just being okay with helping us with whatever." Ben grinned. He was wrong before. The moment was his happiest with the kids.
"No problem." He was pretty sure Colt could see through the chill facade for he chuckled and shook his head amused. The 5 "Next Generation" VKs all hopped onto their bikes-except for Are, of course, who was sitting in front of Are, propped against his chest-and headed off.
This is going to be a wild ride this year, thought Ben. And I can't wait for it.
I am SO SO sorry that this chapter took so long to upload. I already started it and it was almost finished when I BROKE MY FINGER! It's still in a splint wrapped up in medical gauze/tap thing and it's hard to type and write with it since it's the middle finger. Plus, it always looks like I'm flipping people off all the time. I think it's both amusing and annoying at the same time since I don't flip people off.
Anyway, hope everyone is safe and doing well at this time.
Stay safe and...
Keep Reading and Writing!
