"Captain's log, supplemental. We've Kivas Fajo in our brig, but it will be a while before we can turn him over to proper authorities. We're remaining in orbit around Spreltonius V, conducting a joint probe with Spreltonian authorities into Fajo's activities on their planet. Meanwhile, Fajo's shuttle has been beamed to our shuttle bay."
Janeway reached Voyager's brig some time later and began interrogating Fajo. "Are you this ship's captain?" Fajo said. "Yes, and I have questions for you," Janeway said. "I won't answer them, and I demand to be released from your brig," Fajo said. "You were sentenced to life without parole in a penal colony after a jury convicted you on charges that had stemmed from your efforts to add a sentient gynoid to your collection of rare and valuable objects. The only reason we aren't turning you over to the custody of Federation penal authorities is that it will be years before we can arrive back in the Federation, even if we could contact them right now. We were already en route back to the Federation before we found you here in the Delta Quadrant. We are remaining in orbit around Spreltonius V so we can conduct a joint probe with Spreltonian police into your activities on the planet," Janeway said. "That's an outrage, Captain. Starfleet will be looking at a lawsuit over you and your crew throwing me in your starship's brig when we reach Federation space," Fajo said. "And a Federation civilian court will likely decide that I was authorized to confine you to our starship's brig since you were under a sentence of life without parole when you stole a shuttlecraft and escaped from that penal colony on Europa. Now start answering questions, Fajo. How did you get to the Delta Quadrant?" Janeway said. "I won't answer any of your questions," Fajo said. "Suit yourself, Fajo. I am still keeping you confined to the brig," Janeway said, and she left the brig.
On Voyager's bridge some time later, Janeway walked over to Tuvok's console. "Any word from the Spreltonians about Fajo's activities on their planet, Mr. Tuvok?" Janeway said. "Not yet, Captain," Tuvok said. "Did Fajo reveal how he got in the Delta Quadrant?" Chakotay said. "Fajo said he won't reply to any of our questions, Mr. Chakotay," Janeway said. "Captain, the Spreltonian police are hailing us," Kim said. "On screen," Janeway said. "Yes, ma'am," Kim replied. Kim then hit some buttons on his console, and the Spreltonian police station's commander appeared on the viewscreen. "Major Splaurick. Did your people find anything?" Janeway said. "Detectives Sonora and Spivak just executed a judge's authorization to search Kivas Fajo's home for weapons and fake identity documents, and they found a gold mine. They found weapons under construction and lots of fake identity documents, Captain. Some of the weapons that were found in Fajo's home are weapons we have never seen before, and we would request that you send down a third landing party to identify some of the weapons," Splaurick said. "Another landing party will beam down shortly, Major. Janeway out," Janeway said, and the screen went blank. Janeway turned to Chakotay. "Mr. Chakotay, you and Mr. Tuvok get a PADD that has a list of weapons Starfleet has seen on it as well as laws about weapons. Make sure that every weapon banned in the Federation is on that list and is marked as a banned weapon. If you find that the Spreltonian police have any of the banned weapons in their custody when you beam down to the police station, inform them of the laws the weapons are banned under," Janeway said. "Yes, ma'am," Chakotay said, and he and Tuvok got into a turbolift.
Some time later, Chakotay and Tuvok reached Transporter Room 2. Tuvok had a PADD in his hands. They got into the Transporter chamber. "Energize," Chakotay said. The transporter energized, and Chakotay and Tuvok dematerialized.
Two seconds later, Chakotay and Tuvok rematerialized in the police station. Splaurick, Sonora, and Spivak met with Chakotay and Tuvok. "Well, Commanders, are you ready to see what we recovered?" Sonora said. "We brought along a PADD with a list of weapons Starfleet has seen and parts of Federation law that cover weapons, Detective," Tuvok said, and he handed the PADD to Sonora. Sonora looked through the list of weapons, then gave it to Spivak and Splaurick to look through. "We recovered some of the weapons that you have on this list, including twelve Varon-T disruptors, nine hand-held thalaron generators, and some bio-mimetic gel, Commanders," Sonora said. "The thalaron generators are a biogenic weapon, and Varon-T disruptors cause victims to suffer a torturous death. Both are banned under Federation law. And bio-mimetic gel is highly restricted as contraband under Federation law because other biogenic weapons can be made from it. And Fajo was not supposed to have access to any weapons at all. Part of why he was supposed to be in a Federation penal colony was that he killed a woman with a Varon-T disruptor for attempting to aid a sentient gynoid Starfleet officer in an escape from Fajo's starship after Fajo kidnapped the gynoid from another Federation starship," Tuvok said. "We read his whole biographical file after your vessel sent it. Sonora, Spivak, and I were repulsed by some of what we read about Fajo," Splaurick said as he returned the PADD. "Well, he is confined in our brig at the moment, but Fajo told our Captain he won't answer any questions," Tuvok said. "Our ship's stil in orbit so that you can hail us if you find anything, Detectives," Chakotay said, and Tuvok tapped his combadge. "Tuvok to Voyager. Two to beam up," he said, and they dematerialized.
