It's been two years since Giovanni took over the eight regions, and life couldn't be harder, Ash and a few of his friends are out fighting for survival in a wasteland of a world, while Giovanni is counting money in a luxurious mansion. But somehow, some way, Ash finds hope that he could possibly bring back the world he loved, but can't tell if he has the strength to do it.

Ash has just gotten back from losing to Alain in the Kalos league (this isn't set after sun and moon because the sun and moon characters are too innocent for what's gonna happen later) and he's just about to arrive home. He slams the door open leaving a hole in the wall for a sixth time!

"Im hooooooooooome!" he yelled.

"Hi dear, welcome home, I have a surprise for you upstairs." his mum said with a happy grin.

"Wow thanks."Ash said, curious to see what the surprise was. As he went to the living room he could hear faint footsteps coming from inside.

"Shhhhh, he's coming." Ash heard in a voice that sounded exactly like May's.

"There goes the element of surprise." He laughed to himself.

"Hey Ma- Wow what are all of you guys doing here!" Ash said shocked as he creaked open the door. Ash could not believe his eyes. All of his friends (excluding the Kalos squad, he just left them) were standing together in his house, right in front of him. Misty, Brock, Tracy, Max, May, Dawn, Paul, Barry, Iris, Cilan and Trip were all there!

"Surprise!" They all yelled incredibly out of sync.

"We wanted to give you a warm welcome home." Ash's Mum said as she walked in behind him.

"And we also wanted to see you again." Added Dawn. Ash always loved being with his friends, and having them all together in one place was just amazing

"We wanted to make sure tonight was the best night you ever had." Laughed Drew..

"Wow, I can't believe you all took the effort to come and see me." Ash said, over the moon with the previous events.

"I made your favourite food for a special dinner tonight, potato croquettes and gravy." Brock exclaimed, excited to see the expression on Ash's face get even better. Ash's night just kept getting better and better. Half an hour later Ash and his friends are all eating dinner while watching TV.

"Despite our best efforts, we aren't able to fully decipher the message left on the Viridian city gyms wall, which is thought to be left by Giovanni. This is what Police have deciphered so far." announced a voice on the TV.

"The end — November twenty first —World order—-End." It said.

"Police are currently in a meeting discussing whether we should take drastic measures or not, that's it for now, stay tuned for our report in half an hour, good night." Said a woman on the TV holding a microphone.

"What was that about?" Max asked.

"Whatever it was, I don't like the sound of it." Cilan remarked.

"It said something about November 21st, and today is November twentieth." said Paul.

"If anything happens I'll be sure to give that Giovanni guy a right good fine!" bellowed Barry. About one hour later everyone is lying in sleeping bags on the ground and only Max, Barry, Brock, Tracy and Cilan are asleep. Everyone else is trying to pull an all nighter.

"So what do you think that Giovanni guy was on about?" Trip questioned.

" I dunno, but to be honest, he's kind of worrying me." Remarked Iris.

"Ohhhhh is someone scared?" Joked Trip.

"No trip, this guy is definitely no pushover." Said Dawn. "I remember one time in Unova he captured the mythical Pokémon Melloetta and summoned this big monument thing with all this water and stuff and it was like dangerous and stuff." She said

"Quality description right there." Joked Paul.

"Shut it Paul if you were there you would have said the exact same thing!" Dawn hissed quietly.

"Anyways, it's nearly midnight guys so how about we change the subject?" Asked Iris.

"Good idea." Misty said.

Ash's POV

Why did everyone have to come here? Giovanni is planning something horrible and everyone is right here, in the same room, right next to Vermillion city. They might get hurt, they might even, I don't want to think about it. Just please don't let anyone get hurt, please.

Real world

"Hey Ash, you zoned out for a bit, it's nearly midnight, we're doing a countdown in like 20 seconds." Laughed Iris. Granted nobody knew what she was laughing about, but she was laughing and we're moving on.

"Quick quick, it's about time!" Said Dawn in a rush.

"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one." Just then, the loudest noise anyone had ever heard erupted from outside. Fire flooded through the door, the walls started to crumble and just like that, Ash's life was changed forever.
