As the summer kicked into full gear Jamie and Eddie saw each other during any free time they had. She was only taking a class for the summer so it was easier with their schedules. When the weather was nice enough they spent hours at the beach then went back to Jamie's apartment. He happily treated her to dinner and ice cream, take her to bars for drinks where some cops hung out.
Their relationship blossomed in the privacy of Jamie's apartment from make out sessions to deeper intimate gatherings. May was an especially hot month this year, forcing them to stay in his cool apartment.
They sat over a pitcher of lemonade with the television on a game he found more to have as background music. Despite the heat reaching over eighty Jamie and Eddie made out in each other's arms. He ran his fingers through her hair slowly feeling every string.
Her body curved, pulling him down as she laid on her back. Settling with him covering her Eddie pulled his shirt off quickly, rubbing both hands over his back. Jamie cupped underneath Eddie's waist, lifting her as he lowered himself between her. A low sound escape when they joined together making eye contact first as a sign of approval.
Eddie's single twinkling nod gave him the assurance that he needed. Holding her a little closer Jamie started moving back and forth, taking a minute to match rhythm. "Jamie," Eddie gasped, pressing her fingers into his shoulders. She pushed harder, finishing before him breathless.
Smiling as he finished minutes after her Jamie pressed his body against hers, ending with a kiss. "Amazing," he whispered into her ear. A twinkle domed his eyes studying her while they cuddled.
"Yeah it was," Eddie nuzzled his neck, laying skin to skin against his warm body.
Jamie's eyes lowered while hers rose up to meet his. They exchanged one last kiss and snuggled in the comfort of each other's arms, listening to their hearts beating.
Any free time was spent together usually at the beach or in Jamie's apartment. As the months passed by Eddie started staying over night especially nights when her parents had work functions. They never realized she was sneaking around with Jamie and she wanted to keep it that way.
Laying under a single sheet to hide their bodies Jamie took Eddie into his arms after another night of connecting. Each time was slow, loving and delicate with a cuddling session after. He held her around the waist, laying awake to watch her while he slept. She looked so cute, her nose scrunched up knowing she was safe with him.
Gently he kissed the top of her head smiling, interlocking their fingers over her stomach. In her sleep Eddie snuggled closer to his warm body smiling. With a free hand he checked his cell phone, 2:30 am. They came into the bedroom at eleven thirty after a movie and couple of beers. On top by the notifications Jamie saw an unanswered text from his brother. Hey kid, do you want to get drinks tomorrow night?
He wasn't sure if Danny had a midnight tour and he didn't want to wake him but If he didn't send one now he'd forget. Sure Danny. Want to meet at our usual spot, seven thirty? This would make a perfect opportunity to talk with him about Eddie. He laid his head down against Eddie's, closed his eyes and fell asleep.
The sun beamed through their partially open blinds waking Eddie in his arms. She let out a happy moan, stretching out and looked up at him. Jamie's blue eyes met hers, waking up feeling her moving. "Hey, how'd you sleep?"
"Hmm perfect. Did you sleep good," she nuzzled into his neck.
"Yeah. I can make you some breakfast before your interview. You want some eggs and pancakes," Jamie kissed the top of her head. "Oh my brother wants to have a drink tonight at seven thirty. I want to introduce you. "
She breathed out a sigh of warm breath against his chest. "That sounds good. Let's make breakfast together."
Quickly slipping on the clothes from last night they went to make breakfast together. She ate quickly, cleaning up her mess and went around to Jamie's chair. "I should be back around one," Eddie gave him a soft kiss. "Love you."
"Love you too, good luck," Jamie watched her leave, she had to shower and get ready at home. He cleaned up breakfast and around the house waiting for Eddie to come home.
Exactly at one Eddie used the key Jamie made her so she could come and go freely. Jamie looked up from folding the clothes, "Hey, how did it go?"
"Think it went okay. She's going to let me know," Eddie sat on the empty spot next to him. "Think I'm going to catch a nap before drinks with your brother. I feel really tired and my stomach hurts. I threw up in the shower this morning."
Jamie placed a hand on her forehead frowning, "Hope you're not coming down with something. Go lay down and I'll make you some tea." He set the shirt aside to fold later making Eddie's health a priority. He made her tea to sip before she lay down, taking a long nap.
She jerked out of a deep sleep to rush into his bathroom groaning as she got sick in the bowl. "Eddie, you okay," Jamie went in after hearing her throwing up. He sat on the floor, holding her hair supportively while she got sick.
"Come back to bed. If you don't feel up to going I can tell Danny something came up," Jamie said softly, helping her back to bed.
"No I want to go. I'll be fine, just need a little more rest. I should have gotten my period so maybe it's coming," Eddie snuggled herself under the covers, eyes quickly closing. Leaving the unfolded clothes out abandoned Jamie sat with her until she fell asleep.
By the time it was time to meet Danny for drinks Eddie felt much better. She changed into a pink maxi dress with black shoes, leaving her hair down. They walked in together holding hands , Jamie searching for his brother. "There he is," he led her to a table in back Danny reserved for them.
"Hey kid, I ordered us drinks, but guess I might have to get another one," Danny's eyes flew to the pretty young blond with his baby brother.
Smiling Jamie waited for Eddie to sit before sliding in next to her. "I wanted to introduce you. Eddie, this is my brother Danny, he's a first grade detective with the 5-4. Danny this is Eddie Janko, we've been seeing each other."
"Nice to meet you," Eddie offered the detective a smile from across the table. The older man noticed how they gravitated to each other even without having to say a word.
Danny relaxed a little once they started talking, coming to like this girl. She wasn't like anyone he knew from the neighborhood and the cop senses made him guess she lived in a ritzier part of town. Still she was down to earth, funny and the way Jamie looked at her made him happy.
They played darts and beer pong, Eddie winning both games allowing her bragging rights over the two men. "Next time I want a rematch. You got lucky," Danny teased on the way back to their table.
"Bring it on Detective," Eddie smiled. "I can do a victory lap all the way to the bathroom. " Giving him a wink she headed to the ladies room for a quick make up check.
Danny cocked an eyebrow at his brother the minute she was out of earshot. "So, where did you meet this girl kid? She's very pretty by the way."
"Yeah she is," Jamie leaned over the table smiling. "We met while I was running on the beach. She doesn't live far from there, in the country club." Danny gave his brother another eyebrow. "I know but she isn't like them. I love her Danny. I want to make a life with her."
With his fingers curled around the glass Danny raised his in toast. "Well then little brother I wish you two all the best."
They finished up the night with another couple of rounds before parting ways. That night ended with love making until two thirty in the morning and Jamie holding Eddie when they were to exhausted for more. Eddie held her stomach while laying in his arms to happy to sleep. She wondered why her period was now two weeks late when it was always on time.
She thought hard over the last two weeks, which consisted mostly of parties, school and being with Jamie. Her eyes rounded, at the last part. They had been making love for months now at different times, possibly when she was fertile. That's when it hit. She was pregnant with Jamie's baby.
In his sleep Jamie tightened his arms around her chest, rubbing his fingers over her. Eddie breathed out, responding to his touch, turned to press herself against him and think. She had to know for sure.
