Not much to tell ya today. I did stay up until 4am watching Ninjago though. Next update on the 9th.

Aizawa went back home, fell asleep on the couch for what felt like a split second and was woken up by Yamada's screeching alarm at 7:30. Great. In real time, Aizawa had actually slept for a good two hours. Everyone else had managed to sleep a good three hours, most of them not needing to wake up until 8.

Aizawa knocks on Yuudai's door, strange, normally he was up by now but it made sense if he was still asleep. Aizawa knocks again before sliding open the door. Nothing, just one messy room. Aizawa's heart totally didn't skip a beat in fear that Yuudai had run off again.

"Ah, Eraser Head," Yuudai's doctor greets the teacher, "Are you looking for Kojiko-kun?"

Aizawa turns around, "Yes, where is he?"

The doctor laughs, "He's in the garden."

"The garden?" Aizawa echoes, "Thank you."

"Tell him I said 'happy birthday,'" the doctor shouts as Aizawa hurries down the hall.

Aizawa hears him but doesn't have the time to respond. He shuffles through the doors and follows the dirt path. Yuudai's sitting with the groundskeeper on a concrete bench surrounded by sunflowers.

"Did you know that sunflowers love making people smile?" the groundskeeper grins.

Yuudai's holding a small gift bag, probably from the groundskeeper, "You really didn't have to get me a gift."

The groundskeeper shrugs, "It's just pudding, nothing special. I would get you flowers but a certain someone wasn't willing to give me any."

The groundskeeper sends a playful glare towards the roses, apparently they didn't like sharing.

Yuudai giggles, "Thanks for the gift, then."

"No need to thank me," the groundskeeper stands up and stretches, "It seems like your ride is here. You'd better hurry or you'll be late."

Yuudai looks over his shoulder and Aizawa waves at him.

"Ah," Yuudai blinks, "Yeah, anyways, thank you."

The groundskeeper shuffles away with a wave.

"Eraser Head!" Yuudai runs over to him, "You could have just waited in my room."

Aizawa shrugs, "You would have taken longer. Now drop off your present and let's get going."

Yuudai nods and scurries away.

He was taking way too long. Way, way too long.

"Kojiko-kun!" Aizawa says loudly, sliding open the door.

Yuudai comes running out of the bathroom, half dressed with a toothbrush in his mouth.

Aizawa blinks at him, "What the hell are you doing?"

Yuudai runs back into the bathroom. Eraser Head can hear him rinse out his mouth and the clatter of objects being rearranged. Yuudai appears again and hurries to his bed.

"We're going to be late. As a teacher, that's probably one of the things that I'm not supposed to be." Aizawa watches as Yuudai shovels papers and pencils into his backpack.

Yuudai rolls his eyes and gives Aizawa that look that says 'Not like that matters to you.'

"It matters to you. Students shouldn't be late." Aizawa says.

Yuudai huffs and picks his blazer off the floor.

"Also, how is it so messy in here?" Aizawa surveys the room that's covered with clothes, papers, pencils and paper cups. It was somehow more messy than when he walked in earlier that morning.

Yuudai shrugs and zips up his backpack. When Aizawa looks closer he sees that Yuudai's tie is hung around his neck, his pockets are inside out, and his buttons on his shirt are off by one. Yuudai doesn't seem to notice because he rushes past Aizawa and to his car.

Aizawa only starts talking once the car starts moving.

"So," he pauses, "Um, happy birthday."

"Thanks."

Aizawa chews the inside of his cheek, "Well...um...I got you something," he points at the back seat, "Happy Birthday.

Yuudai breaks into a grin and grabs the package. It's wrapped clumsily with bright yellow paper and a grey bow. Yuudai doesn't ask for permission before ripping the paper apart. Once the box is opened, Yuudai is greeted by a fluffy, bright blue sheep stuffie. He doesn't exactly know why but there's also a smaller black cat and yellow bird stuffie. The entire box is filled with party poppers.

"Holy shit," Yuudai exclaims.

Aizawa runs his hands over the wheel, "It might be a little childish to get you a stuffed animal, but I couldn't think of anything else."

Yuudai's eyes sparkle as he picks up the sheep and squishes it. Attached to its leg is a card. Yuudai rips that open, too. On the front it says 'You're older now' and on the inside it says 'Happy Birthday.' In Aizawa's handwriting it says 'The party poppers are for class. If you use them, clean up afterwards.' but in another person's handwriting it says 'Happy Birthday, Listener! I don't know if I should write 13 or 15 but Happy Birthday!'

"Who's handwriting is this?" Yuudai points at the Listener part.

Aizawa glances over and nods, "That's Present Mic's handwriting." Aizawa says, "He was there when I bought the card."

"And the bird and cat?" Yuudai questions.

"He was also there when I bought the present. That's not the point." Aizawa keeps his eyes on the road. "...Do you like it?"

Yuudai nods vigorously and squishes the blue sheep.

"Good." Aizawa says, pleased with himself.

Yuudai was greeted to a tidal wave of confetti and happy birthdays when he arrived in class. Aizawa was only slightly annoyed by the small chaos of celebration.

"I hope you know that you are all cleaning this up after this," he says, irritated.

Yuudai grins and holds up his box of party poppers.

Midoriya picks a piece of confetti out of Yuudai's hair as he makes his way to his seat, "Happy Birthday, Kojiko-kun!"

Yuudai shakes his head to get rid of all the confetti, "Thanks, Midoriya-kun."

The rest of Class 1-A piles gifts onto and near Yuudai's desk. Yuudai opens everything immediately. A nice pair of headphones, more stuffed animals, a bag of tea, a keychain of the popsicle brand he liked, and a card from the entire class. Yuudai didn't have time to read all the messages but he did smile like an idiot while looking at it.

It's lunchtime. Shinso had hid in the hallway nearby the classroom holding a gift bag for about five minutes before actually checking inside to see if Yuudai was in there. He was in there, along with Midoriya, Todoroki, and Iida. Shinso knocks before entering their classroom.

"Ah, good morning, Shinso-kun," Yuudai greets as he walks in.

Shinso nods at him, "Morning."

"Oh, Shinso-kun." Midoriya greets, "What're you doing here?"

"I heard it was Kojiko-kun's birthday," Shinso holds up the bag, "I brought a gift."

Yuudai smiles and takes the gift from him and opens it. It's a small bag of Konpeito, sugar candy.

"You said you like sheep...and crunchy foods. And I thought they looked like sheep and they're hard candies that you can crunch on." Shinso says, rubbing his neck.

Yuudai tilts his head, "When did I tell you I liked sheep?"

Shinso looks away, "I actually just heard it from Aizawa-sensei."

Yuudai snickers, "You hear a lot of stuff."

The four of them start talking and eventually walk to the cafeteria. Well, they had to push Yuudai because he was still marveling at the candy. Yuudai barely had enough courage to order his own food. Even Shinso joined the group for lunch instead of going to his regular table.

"Kojiko-kun," Iida says after finishing his rice, "you know if you have trouble in class, you can always ask for help."

"I'm good, Iida-kun, thanks," Yuudai talks with his mouth full.

Shinso tilts his head, "Where's your tie?"

"You just now noticed?" Todoroki asks.

Yuudai snickers, "I gave up this morning."

"And your shirt is buttoned incorrectly," Shinso gestures to Yuudai's uneven buttons.

Yuudai looks down and scrambles to put them in the right positions. The rest of lunch was spent talking about plans for studying for exams. Midoriya even started to explain the rest of the math homework to Yuudai.

"Hey, Kojiko-kun!" Kirishima shouts to Yuudai as everyone's walking to the locker rooms.

Yuudai looks over his shoulder and sees Kirishima with Bakugou running towards him. Kirishima is holding a wrapped gift and Bakugou seems like he really doesn't care about whatever was going on.

Yuudai tilts his head, "Kirishima-kun?"

Kirishima holds out the box, "This is for you! Happy birthday," Kirishima nudges Bakugou, "Come on, dude."

Bakugou growls and stomps away.

Kirishima sighs and then smiles, "Well, it's from him, too."

Yuudai takes the present, "You told me that this morning, Kirishima-kun."

"Oh right," Kirishima laughs, "Well, we meant to give it to you earlier when everyone else was giving you stuff but Bakugou has...an image. If you can even call it that."

"Yeah, I get it," Yuudai nods and shakes the box.

Kirishima grins, "I'll go ahead. I hope you like it!"

Yuudai waves as Kirishima runs to catch up with Bakugou. Yuudai heads back to the classroom to put this present with all the rest. It's quiet, which is a little unsettling but Yuudai can still hear Bakugou's yelling and occasional footsteps from a few halls down which calms him down. It's not quiet like how it was at Hosu. Which is good.

"Kojiko-shonen!" All Might slides out of a hallway which startles Yuudai.

He almost drops the gift but doesn't and just takes a billion steps back.

All Might shrinks back to his true form, "I would like to have a word with you, please!"

Yuudai nods and holds up the gift and points down the hallway, in the direction of 1-A's class. All Might blinks, so Yuudai wasn't comfortable with him. That's fine. Totally okay with him. All Might walks with Yuudai to the class and then to the teacher's lounge.

"Have some tea," All Might sets the cup in front of Yuudai.

Yuudai bows his head a little and slides the cup closer to him.

All Might clears his throat, "I have been told by Midoriya-shonen that you've found out about One For All."

Yuudai nods and takes a tentative sip of the tea before pulling a piece of candy out of his pocket. It's the konpeito from Shinso.

"So," All Might clears his throat again, "I'm sorry, first of all. One For All is a secret and now you've been burdened with it. Midoriya-kun said he explained how he got One For All from me. I do feel responsible and it's only fair that you get the whole story."

Yuudai shrugs and eats more candy.

"One For All is derived from a separate Quirk which has existed since the beginning," All Might starts, "'All For One.' The Quirk that steals other's Quirks and makes them the user's Quirks. It's also a Quirk that can give them to others."

"All For One," Yuudai says softly, "Like the reverse of One For All?"

All Might pauses, "I guess. But One For All came from All For One. Do you remember learning about that period of time when the definition of 'human' suddenly changed? When law lost meaning and everything stopped and spiralled down?"

"Sure," Yuudai shrugs.

"During that age of upheaval rose a figure who promptly gathered the people together. I'm sure you've heard of him, too."

Yuudai nods.

"He stole people's Quirks and had overwhelming power which caused his influence to spread. The people were his pawns and everyone moved according to his plans," All Might sighs, "He basically took control of Japan in a second."

Yuudai rolls the candy between his fingers, "Just connect this thing and that thing."

"Right," All Might nods, "All For One can also grant Quirks. Some people who were granted Quirks couldn't handle it and they became something like Nomu. Other people who could handle it, their Quirks were mutated and blended together. That man had a little brother, he was Quirkless."

Yuudai really started to pay attention there.

"He was small and frail but had a strong sense of justice. He opposed his older brother. So the older brother forced a Quirk that stockpiles power onto him," All Might waits for Yuudai to say something, but he doesn't, "The little brother wasn't actually Quirkless but it was a Quirk that could grant itself to another. So the two merged and became One For All. The Quirk that can stockpile power and pass it onto another person."

Yuudai hums and chomps on more candy.

"That man is a symbol of evil that will live on indefinitely and his little brother entrusted One For All to the next generation, hoping that someday this power would accumulate enough to be able to stop the evil."

"You failed?"

All Might hangs his head, "Yes. I thought I beat him but he's still alive and on the move. This time as the brain behind the villain alliance. The power that Midoriya-shonen has is meant to defeat that evil. One day he will have to face that evil."

Yuudai nods, "But we're not there yet. So don't worry about it."

All Might shakes his head, "You don't understand, Kojiko-shonen. This isn't a matter of when it's going to happen. It's a matter of when you'll be ready."

"Me?" Yuudai raises an eyebrow, "I thought this was Midoriya-kun facing this great evil."

"Midoriya-shonen will need people to help him. As someone who knows this secret, I can only ask you to be by his side," All Might bites his lip, "But other than your connection to Midoriya-shonen, you have a connection to All For One, too."

Yuudai tilts his head, "I only just learned about All For One? Also, I thought All For One was a Quirk."

"We refer to the owner of All For One as All For One. His name is currently unknown."

Yuudai nods, "So what about my connection to one of the oldest humans on the planet?"

All Might takes a breath, "You father, you're aware of his work as a…"

"A villain? Vigilante? Hero?" Yuudai lists, "Yeah, he talked about a lot of stuff."

"When he was a villain...he worked with All For One," All Might sighs, "We learned a lot because of that but when I faced him almost six years ago but…"

Yuudai tilts his head. Six years ago…

All Might hides his face in his hands, "It's around the same time your father passed away."

Yuudai's eyes widen a little.

"My injury was actually only a few months after his...his death. Listen, I'm sorry, I wasn't able to help him or save him."

Yuudai shakes his head, "I know there's things that people can't do, even with Quirks."

"He used to help...work with All For One as a villain," All Might says, "Because you're his son…"

"You expect me to be targeted?" Yuudai concludes.

"Yes."

Yuudai chomps on more candy, "My dad always talked about all his experiences and his life. He never mentioned any names or any specifics other than my mother. I understood what villains and bad guys meant and had a couple encounters with them…" Yuudai rubs his eyes, "But I never thought it was something like a 'symbol of evil.'"

"I'm sorry that you had to hear this from me…" All Might bows his head.

Yuudai smiles, "You don't have to apologize, All Might."

All Might sighs, "I'm sorry."

"So," Yuudai hums, "I'm a target."

"It's only a possibility," All Might corrects, "We don't know if All For One has any reason to come for you other than because of your father."

"Do you know if he's a type of person to be vengeful? If my dad stabbed him in the back would he be the type to stab back?" Yuudai questions.

All Might chuckles, "You're so similar to your father."

"Yeah," Yuudai smiles, "I know."

"We're not sure of anything," All Might says, "This is just a warning for you. Please, be careful. You may not have any parents to worry but there's still others who care for you."

"I know," Yuudai rolls a piece of candy across the table, "I know."

All Might takes the candy and smiles, "Well, you may go now. I've kept you long enough."

Yuudai finishes the tea, stands up, and bows before leaving.

"Kaminari-kun?" Yuudai tilts his head, "I thought you headed home with everyone else."

Kaminari scratches his head, "Nah, I had something to give you so I waited."

"Well, sorry I made you wait then," Yuudai closes his locker and spins the lock.

"Midoriya-kun said he'd wait outside for you so here," Kaminari hands Yuudai a small bag.

Yuudai ruffles through the tissue paper and pulls out a small box.

"It's a spinner ring," Kaminari grins, "You said you wanted one and since it's your birthday I got you a new one."

Yuudai opens the box, it's a metal spinner ring. There's no design on it but it's smooth and iridescent. Yuudai places it on his middle finger.

"Does it fit? I guessed on your size." Kaminari watches Yuudai play with the ring.

Yuudai grins, "It's great!"

Kaminari takes a breath, "I'm glad you like it."

Yuudai nods and heads out the door, Kaminari follows him.

"Kojiko-kun," Midoriya greets, "And Kaminari-kun?"

"Shinso-kun!" Yuudai waves at Shinso who's down the hall.

Midoriya smiles, "Good day?"

"Absolutely," Yuudai hums, "so what now?"

Kaminari shrugs, "We could hang out, it's your birthday so you've gotta celebrate."

Yuudai tilts his head, "I haven't really celebrated with this many people before."

"We could go to a restaurant or cafe," Midoriya suggests, "It's a little early for dinner, though."

Shinso nods, "Cake."

"Wait, wait. Am I included in this?" Kaminari points at himself with a dumb look on his face.

Yuudai shrugs, "I mean you are my friend."

"We're friends?" Kaminari asks happily.

"Maybe we should invite Todoroki-kun and Iida-kun," Midoriya suggests, "They might want to join the celebration."

Kaminari jumps in his spot, "I can get Kirishima and he can bring Bakugou! That's fine right?" Kaminari looks at Yuudai, "They're your friends, too, right?"

Yuudai smiles, "I never realized how busy a birthday can get!"

"Kojiko," Aizawa appears basically out of nowhere, "You're not planning on getting into any trouble, are you?"

"Todoroki-kun and Iida-kun say they'll meet us at the diner," Midoriya looks up from his phone, "Oh, hi, Aizawa-sensei."

"You tagging along, Eraser Head?" Yuudai questions.

Aizawa huffs, "You're recommended to have a supervisor when you're out."

"Ah, see that's just a recommendation," Yuudai jokes, "Better yet, you can drive us."

"You're supposed to be studying for finals," Aizawa grumbles, "And you can just take the train."

"Taking the train is fun and all but," Yuudai grins, "wouldn't it be more responsible of you to drive so I don't run away again?"

Aizawa snaps, "What are you saying, you troublemaker? You're going to run away again? Is that it?"

Yuudai clicks his tongue, annoyed, "I was just asking for a ride, Eraser Head. Calm down a little."

"I'm sure that we can all just walk," Midoriya steps in, "Aizawa-sensei, you don't need to drive us anywhere."

"I'll drive." Aizawa says quickly, then adding, "But you won't all fit in my car."

Yuudai grins, "Great!"

"What did Kirishima-kun say?" Midoriya looks over at Kaminari's phone.

Kaminari types another message then looks up, "Kirishima-kun's in, not sure about Bakugou-kun though."

"So that's Kirishima-kun, Kaminari-kun, Shinso-kun, Midoriya-kun, Iida-kun, and Todoroki-kun, with a maybe on Bakugou-kun," Yuudai counts on his fingers, "If Iida-kun, Todoroki-kun, and Kirishima-kun are meeting us there then we only need a car with four open seats!"

"Aizawa-sensei," Kaminari grins slyly, "Your car has four open seats, right?"

Aizawa is a little past annoyed, "It does but that doesn't mean I'm allowing all four of you to squish in there."

"Why not? It worked this morning," Yuudai tilts his head.

Aizawa grumbles and speaks very low, "Yamada wants to come, too."

"Hm?" Yuudai cups his ear, "What was that?"

"You know I'm your teacher and guardian. You could have a little more respect," Aizawa huffs.

Yuudai shrugs, "I've never been one for authority systems."

"Yamada wants to tag along," Aizawa repeats, "For your birthday party."

"Party?" Yuudai hums, "Is it a party?"

Midoriya shrugs as Yuudai looks at him for answers, "I guess it could be considered a party. But why is Yamada-sensei coming?"

"That's because-" Shinso stops talking as Aizawa sends a light glare his way.

"So who's going in Yamada-sensei's car?" Kaminari asks.

Yuudai shrugs, "It doesn't really matter since we're all ending up at the same place."

Kaminari gasps dramatically, "How could you say such a thing, Kojiko-kun. Picking who's carpooling with who is like getting to pick who gets to spend the most time with the birthday boy."

"And that's important because?"

"Because!" Kaminari exclaims, "Because it means that whoever gets to go with you is like your best friend!"

Yuudai tilts his head, "But you're all my friends."

"You really don't understand this friend thing, do you?" Kaminari sighs, "That's okay then, I'll go with Yamada-sensei, I like his music taste."

"I'll go, too," Shinso raises his hand, "I think Aizawa-sensei is getting a little sick of me."

"Eraser Head could never get sick of his students," Yuudai smiles, "His annoyance just means that he cares."

The five of them started heading towards the staff's parking lot. Aizawa quietly mentioned that Yamada would meet them there.

Kaminari tilts his head while walking, "I just realized something."

Yuudai slows and walks next to him, "Hm?"

"You never really call anyone by name," Kaminari notes, "I mean...you call your friends like Midoriya-kun and Shinso-kun by their names but not anyone else. And for Aizawa-sensei you don't use Aizawa-sensei but instead Eraser Head."

Yuudai thinks about it for a moment, "I dunno, it's just something I do."

"That's kinda what Bakugou-kun does," Kaminari says, "He never really calls anyone by their actual name unless he's super close to them. Like Kirishima-kun but even that's rare."

"What's he call you?" Yuudai asks.

Kaminari blinks, "You mean you don't hear him yelling our nicknames half the time?"

Yuudai shrugs.

"He calls me Dunce Face," Kaminari admits sadly.

Yuudai snickers, "Why's that?"

Kaminari hangs his head, "It's because of the dumb face I make when I overuse my Quirk."

Yuudai pats him on the back, holding back a laugh, "That's...that's really good."

"Good!?" Kaminari exclaims, "It's so mean! I like to think of myself as his friend yet he still calls me Duce Face?! If I started calling him Explosion Boy I bet he'd get mad! I've got the right to be mad, right?"

Shinso snickers but then holds up a hand in apology, "Sorry, it's just...it suits you."

Kaminari pouts, "I can't believe this! I've been labeled as Dunce Face for life!"

"Not for life, Kaminari-kun," Yuudai smiles, "Just for today."

"And maybe tomorrow," Shinso adds on.

Kaminari sighs.

"If it makes you feel any better he calls me Blueberry," Yuudai says, trying to reassure Kaminari.

Kaminari lifts his head, "At least that sounds nice! At least yours sounds like a cute pet name or something, it's nothing like Dunce Face!"

"Ha!? A pet name?" Yuudai shouts playfully, "For your information I don't like being called a blueberry."

Kaminari laughs, "But that's just how he is, isn't he?"

"And it's super frustrating that somehow he has the bite to match the bark," Yuudai agrees.

Shinso and Midoriya exchange a slightly confused glance.

"Still, at least Kirishima-kun can handle him," Kaminari declares, "Like a pet trainer."

"That's enough with the jokes," Aizawa grumbles and stops by his car, "Yamada's car is over there."

"Are you talking about the car with the bright yellow bumper sticker?" Shinso asks.

Aizawa sighs, "It was either that or he buys a school bus."

"Does he really like yellow that much?" Kaminari walks towards the car with a sigh.

Aizawa shrugs, "He says it goes with his image."

Shinso nods in agreement, "It does."

"Don't you go agreeing with him. Half the things he owns are in a shade of yellow," Aizawa rubs his eyes, "My eyes are going to get tired of seeing so much yellow. Like looking into the sun."

The four students laugh at that.

"Oi! Over here!" Kirishima waves at everyone as they walk in.

It's not a fancy restaurant, actually it's far from it. It's a local diner, it also looks western which wasn't uncommon, they even had an old arcade machine about some old American hero.

Midoriya waves back.

Surprisingly, sitting next to Kirishima was a very unhappy Bakugou. Kirishima also pushed together all the tables to make one big group area to sit everyone. Across from Kirishima and Bakugou are Todoroki and Iida, it looks a little strange for them to sit together but somehow nothing has exploded yet.

Yuudai grins and sits annoyingly close to Bakugou. Annoyingly close meaning the seat next to him. Midoriya sits next to Yuudai and Todoroki moves to sit in front of Yuudai and Midoriya while Shinso and Kaminari sit in front of Bakugou and Kirishima. Though Aizawa appreciates the invitation to sit with his students, he sits at a table in the corner with Yamada.

It's really just like a bunch of friends hanging out after school. Kaminari orders way too many hamburgers and is forced to eat them all. It's funny but he almost throws up, so Kirishima takes over eating the rest. Bakugou gets one of the spiciest and reddest things that Yuudai has ever seen. It's amazing how high his spicy tolerance is. When Yuudai asks what it is, Bakugou growls and scarfs the rest down. Kaminari may have tried some which actually ends up breaking the dam on the throw up.

Todoroki tries to order soba four times but only realizes that they don't have soba after the fourth try. Midoriya convinces him to order plain spaghetti. Iida read the whole menu before even trying to order and at that point there were already too many plates on the table so he settled for whatever had been ordered already. Which would be about five plates of fries, an unknown amount of burger, three plates of spaghetti, and a lot of milkshakes. Shinso spends the majority of the time watching the chaos unfold as Bakugou nearly starts a fight with Kaminari for stealing his food and throwing up. Kirishima helps calm him down but it doesn't stop a few plates of food from getting a little crispy. Midoriya, meanwhile, is actually having a lot of fun. Maybe he sneaks in a few photos of everyone but other than that he joins Kirishima in making sure the restaurant doesn't blow up.

Yuudai smiles, it's loud but that's good. Everyone is having fun and that's great. Even if Bakugou might kill Kaminari or Iida might combust due to the chaos, it's great. Yuudai sets his head down on the open space on the table and closes his eyes. It's loud. And that's good. But he's tired. Yuudai eventually falls asleep, listening to the sounds of Kirishima and Bakugou arguing and Todoroki and Shinso discussing spaghetti vs soba. He can faintly hear Aizawa and Yamada arguing about the healthy amount of fried chicken for an adult male. It's loud and comforting and warm.

"Happy birthday, Kojiko-kun."
