I am very tired, it is 3 am and games make motion sick. But it's all fine because MY FUCKIN WOW THE MANGA. Just saying. Wow. Anyways, back to Yuudai being kidnapped. Next update: September 6th.
Missing isn't the right word. Everyone who was at the camp knew. Anyone who knew Bakugou would know that he isn't the kind of person to just go missing. Yuudai, sure, he goes missing sometimes but this is different. The people who know this as fact are only Midoriya, Todoroki, Tokoyami, and Shoji, those who were there when Yuudai was being dragged through the warp gate. But Aizawa knows he's not missing either, and so do Kirishima and Kaminari.
Using Todoroki, Shoji, and Tokoyami's statements, the heroes and police are able to confirm that Kojiko Yuudai had also been taken by the villains. Including the statements from Kirishima and Aizawa, it was concluded that Yuudai had been taken before the villains attacked and replaced him with a double. Although their information gives no leads on a location it gives the police another person who needs rescuing.
Kirishima and Kaminari, both having no injuries, speak with Todoroki, Shoji, and Tokoyami as soon as possible about what actually happened that night. They wonder how they couldn't have seen that it was a clone beforehand. Midoriya wakes up two days after the incident and he can't remember a single thing during those fever-filled two days. He wonders if Yuudai felt like that after waking up from his coma. Then he thinks about Kota, if he's alright.
"Ahh, Midoriya!" Kaminari breaks into a smile, "You're awake now!"
Midoriya manages a small, "Huh?"
The rest of Class 1-A floods into Midoriya's room.
"Have you been watching TV? The media's been all over U.A.. It's pretty bad."
"That time in the spring doesn't even compare…"
"We got you a melon! Everyone pitched in," Mineta holds the melon above his head.
Tokoyami hangs his head slightly, "I caused you trouble, huh, Midoriya…"
"No, I did, too.." Midoriya says with cloudy eyes, "Did everyone from Class A come?"
"No, Jiro-kun and Hagakure-kun are still unconscious from the villains' gas," Iida reports, "And Yaoyorozu-kun also got hit hard on the head and is hospitalized here. Apparently she regained consciousness yesterday. So everyone but those three came…"
Uraraka speaks next as Iida's head dips, "Fifteen of us…"
"Because Bakugou and Kojiko aren't here," Todoroki says bluntly.
"Hey, Todoroki!" Ashido scolds softly.
Midoriya's eyes clear up and begin to fill with tears. He remembers what happened.
"All Might said, 'I can't save the people I can't reach.' That's why he will always save those he can reach," Midoriya talks softly, "I...was in a place where I could reach...I had to save him...and I didn't even know that Kojiko-kun needed saving...but I had to save both of them. That's what my Quirk is for...It's exactly like what Aizawa-sensei said to me," Midoriya's eyes overflow with tears, "My body...wouldn't move...It was all I could do to save Kota-kun. I couldn't save someone right in front of me…"
"Then, let's save him this time. Both of them," Kirishima says with a straight face.
That causes a few people to gasp slightly.
"Actually, Todoroki, Kaminari and I were here yesterday, too." Kirishima goes on to explain what they'd overheard from Yaoyorozu and All Might's conversation.
"Does this mean you're going to have Yaoyorozu-kun make another receiver?" Iida asks.
"What if it does?" Todoroki replies.
Iida grits his teeth, remembering Hosu, "It is as All Might said! This is something we should leave to the pros! This isn't the place for us to act, you idiots!"
"We know that!" Kirishima yells back, "But, I couldn't do anything! Even when Kojiko was right next to me and I couldn't do anything! After I heard that my friend was being targeted! I still couldn't do anything! I didn't do anything!" Kirishima faces Iida, "If I don't do anything now, I won't be a hero or a man anymore!"
"Kirishima, we're in a hospital," Sero puts a finger to his lips, "It's fine to feel strongly about things, but this time-"
"Iida-chan is correct," Asui pipes up.
Kirishima shakes with frustration, "Iida, all of you, you're all correct. I know that. But! Hey, Midoriya, your hand can still reach! We can go save them!"
"So, in short, you're planning on getting the receiver from Yao-momo, following it, and going to save Bakugou and Yuu-kun yourselves?" Ashido summarizes.
"Yeah," Kaminari nods, "Normally...normally I wouldn't do something like this...but Kojiko...he's my friend and I wasn't even able to figure out when he was replaced by a fake!" Kaminari exclaims, "How can I call myself his friend if I can't even try to rescue him after not noticing he was gone?!"
"Even though the villains said we were targets to be killed, they took Bakugou and Kojiko without killing them," Todoroki explains, "They probably let them live, but that doesn't mean they won't kill them eventually. Kirishima, Kaminari and I are going."
"Don't go overboard with your messing around!" Iida shouts.
Shoji holds out a bandaged arm, "Wait. Calm down. I understand Kirishima and Kaminari's frustration at not being able to do anything and Todoroki's frustration at having him stolen in front of his very eyes. I'm frustrated, too. But, this isn't a situation where we should act on our emotions. Right?"
"L-let's leave this to All Might…" Aoyama says, "Aizawa-sensei's permission to fight at the training camp has been rescinded, too."
Tokoyami nods, "Aoyama's right. I can't say much since I was the one who needed saving, though…"
"But-"
"Everyone, we're all shocked from Bakugou-chan and Kojiko-chan's kidnapping. But let's think things through calmly," Asui taps her chin, "No matter how just your feelings, if you're saying you'll fight again...that you'll break the rules...those acts are the same as those of villains."
Midoriya lowers his head and the room goes silent. There's a knock at the door and it slides open.
"Sorry to interrupt," the doctor says, "It's time for Midoriya-kun's exam."
"Wh-why don't we go?" Sero suggests, "I wanna see how Jiro and Hagakure are doing, too."
"Oh yeah," Ojiro agrees.
Uraraka nods and waves at Midoriya, "Deku-kun, feel better soon."
Midoriya nods back with a small smile, "Thanks, all of you."
"We talked to Yaoyorozu yesterday," Kirishima says quietly, "If we go, we go right away. Tonight. Since you were seriously injured, I don't know if you can move, but we still wanted to invite you because you're probably the most frustrated out of everyone. We'll be waiting in front of the hospital tonight."
Two days earlier…
"Hey."
…
"Wake up already."
…
"You've slept long enough."
…
Cold water. Very, very cold water. Everywhere. Yuudai wakes with a jolt. What...did I fall asleep? His eyes blur and he lifts a hand to rub at them, two hands because for some reason his hands are tied together? What? Yuudai tugs at the ropes and finds himself to be very weak.
"You won't be able to remove those," a voice says to his left.
Yuudai turns his head and sees barely anything. This guy doesn't have a light bulb? Yuudai shakes his head and focuses, not the time for that, he reminds himself. He catches on quickly, it's not like Yuudai is unfamiliar with what a kidnapping was, he's experienced it once or twice.
The voice changes tone, like the speaker is smiling, "I'm glad you're awake."
Yuudai searches around the dark for the speaker. Nothing. He bites his lip, wake up, Yuudai! Wake up! This is a dangerous situation! Get in the right headspace. Whatever the speaker had done to him, Yuudai feels utterly exhausted. Like all his energy was drained away and his blood was replaced with concrete. Yuudai focuses on his ears.
"You've got five senses, and you're lucky because you have some of your mom's good hearing."
Yuudai remembers one of his dad's small talks. A city? It's quiet...night time?
"Sorry if you're feeling a bit tired," the voice echoes, "that should clear up soon."
Yuudai can see a little better in the darkness. He can make out a figure in the shadows and a gleam of metal mixed in his silhouette. A villain? Yuudai squints and sits himself up, preparing for some sort of attack.
"You don't need to be so cautious," the voice says calmly, "I'm an old friend of your father."
My dad? Yuudai tenses up more, as far as he knows his dad didn't have any villain friends that hadn't been caught...except…
Yuudai backs off, even more prepared for a fight.
"You really are a lot like him," the voice says with amazement, "Same basic mannerisms, same hair, same heroic personality."
Yuudai opens his mouth to object then stops himself. I'm not him though.
"Villains love to talk. Maybe it's some weird psychological thing but personally I just liked the attention. People always listen to villains when they talk. Sometimes they actually say some good things. Doesn't mean they're always right, though."
Yuudai brings his hands to his mouth and bites on them, wake up, come on, wake up! His vision blurs then clears and then his headache worsens. Stupid drugs.
"You seem to have a different goal, though," the voice says, "while he was more focused on being a hero...you…you seem to just be having a lot of fun. You have no reason to stay at that hero school."
Yuudai glares in the direction of the voice.
"Hit the nail on the head? Great."
Yuudai knew he'd made a mistake, too easy to read. Idiot. Yuudai lowers his head and focuses on the ropes. The words the villain's saying are true in some way. Yuudai actually doesn't have any reason to become a hero, the only motivation he has is that it's exciting and his friends are there. His friends…
"He was a great villain," the voice continues, "Just that obsession with being a hero and saving people got in the way at the end."
He stops talking for a moment, waiting for Yuudai to say something in return.
"He had a strong Quirk, you know?" The voice chuckles, "It's a shame that I wasn't able to take it before he died."
Yuudai's jaw snaps through the ropes at that. Calm down...calm…
Yuudai spits out the ropes and snaps , "You need to learn how to talk to the younger generations, old bastard."
I SAID CALM. Yuudai takes in a deep breath. Not the time for emotions...not now. Right now, escape.
The villain nearly laughs at that, "I was just saying that he had a strong Quirk, you should be happy. That means you have a strong Quirk, too."
"So?" Yuudai says absentmindedly, trying to figure out any way to escape.
"If you can't move your body it's okay to rest. Because you're my son they won't actually try anything. Rest and regain strength to escape. Maybe I'll even be there when you wake up!"
Yuudai holds back a smile at the memory. Back when Yuudai was little, his dad was so worried about kidnapping he'd made a whole presentation about what to do if you're kidnapped. That one wasn't useful now, though. His body had already recovered from whatever drug was weighing him down earlier.
"You have such a strong Quirk and you're using it in all the wrong ways," the villain sighs, "Becoming a hero and meeting that woman must have set him on the wrong path. You must have been raised wrong."
"If the villain likes to talk, use it against them. Keep the conversation going, but remember: it doesn't mean anything. Villains can speak truths and lies. Don't let it get to you but you're only a kid, so if you get a little angry I can't blame you."
Yuudai growls, "Like you care."
"I do," the villain says, "Aitabi was one of my closest friends! I practically raised him."
Yuudai scoffs, "You really think all this talk is going to convince me to become a villain? How can I ever side with someone who's killed my dad?"
"I did kill him, but it was his fault. After all," the silhouette shrugs, "if he just said no to my first offer then we wouldn't be here now, would we?"
"Of course, your old man wasn't a villain just for the attention. Sure, I was a stupid teenager at the time and I didn't really realize that villain meant villain but was simply the only option for me at the time. I don't regret it but...I wish it could have been different. You don't need to worry about it, Yuudai, I bet you'll be strong enough to create your own path in life! You don't need to pick from the options given, create your own!"
Create my own options. Yuudai stands up and is immediately hit by a sharp and sudden stab to his shoulder. He's flung back against the wall, grabbing at whatever stabbed him. Yuudai looks down at the object and sees a jagged black and red blade going from his shoulder to the darkness.
"Hold still," All For One says as the four more blades pierce his skin.
Yuudai feels his body start to twitch against his will. Yuudai grits his teeth and a whine escapes his throat. Whatever All For One is doing hurts like hell. Worse than hell, even. He can feel his arms tense up without him wanting to and his chest constrict. The places where the blades are embedded feel like they're on fire. Yuudai suddenly realizes that his feet aren't touching the ground.
Put. Me. Down. Yuudai glares at the origin of the blades and feels something ripple through the air.
There's a loud crack and the blades holding him up break apart and Yuudai drops to the floor, coughing and gasping for breath. His headache suddenly increases and black spots appear against the darkness surrounding him. What...?
"Incredible," All For One says with a hint of pain in his voice.
Yuudai coughs and can barely speak, "What did you do?"
All For One steps forward enough that Yuudai can see the tips of his shoes, "Forcible Quirk Activation. I told you, you're wasting your potential being a hero."
Yuudai sees the black spots get bigger and cover his vision.
"Too bad," All For One sighs, "You can't handle it yet. You've blocked your own potential: unknowingly changing your Quirk and making it more difficult to use. I'll give you an offer."
Yuudai squints, the dark spots covering most of his vision.
"I've always said people should try again. Consider yourself my last try. I'll let you try to get back your Quirk at full strength. With that you could be greater than Tomura" All For One smirks.
Yuudai spits out a laugh, "Like I'll be your shitty re-do of my dad. If you haven't noticed, I'm my own person. 'Greater than Tomura' my ass," Yuudai growls, his consciousness slowly fading, "I'll be a greater hero for sure. I don't give a shit about being a villain. Fuck off, you old bas…ta...r...d..." Yuudai growls one final time before passing out.
