Hello guys, O6 here. I'm so sorry this took a long time to make. Welcome back to "IF ELENA OF AVALOR WAS MODERN!" This chapter will include the concepts for this AU and how things will go. Concepts will be updated every 5 episodes I do, and some of the updates will be made by you guys, if you have suggestions. But for now, this is how the modern AU will go based on my ideas.

Let's go --

Concept 1: Main Character Looks and Things

Obviously, the character physical looks will be the same, but most of their outfits will change.

Elena

Elena would still have the same dress that she always wore, and that ball gown. But for her adventure outfit, I was thinking of giving her a red t-shirt, overall shorts, short brown boots with laces, and a matching red cap. Elena is still quite new to this, so sometimes she won't know how a certain something works.

Gabe

Gabe, plus other guards, will have a different looking uniform. The uniform would be dark blue and red, and have gold pauldrons, buttons, and a tag that shows his rank (Ranks and all other military stuff will be explained later). The uniform pants are like the original, with the red stripe, but the blue is a bit darker and are bigger. With the uniform he would wear black combat boots with his pants over them. Now, Gabe will also have a non-formal, everyday outfit. He would have a plain white t-shirt tucked into his uniform pants, that go inside his combat boots so they show. Whether he wears the normal or formal outfit depends on the episode. The weapons he uses are a silenced pistol, and a knife.

Mateo

Mateo's outfit would include him wearing a black t-shirt with a funny picture on it, a dark red zipper hoodie, cuffed dark jeans, black sneakers that look like adidas, and a dark read beanie matching with the hoodie (I'm making Mateo have a thing for beanies). His formal dress would be having his hair tucked back by his mom, without a beanie, and wearing a white dress shirt with a red bow tie, a green sweater vest, grey trousers, and brown leather shoes. Before becoming the Royal Wizard, Mateo is typically your average teenage boy. Alongside practicing magic in the basement forever, he geeks it out on video games. Being good friends with Naomi, a popular girl, he made several friends.

Naomi

Naomi would wear a blue/teal/green plaid button up shirt tucked into ripped jeans and shoes that look like converse. Her formal dress would be a light blue off shoulder cocktail dress with white high heels, her hair tied up with a blue and white flower. She still has a love for the sea and traveling by boat, and she studies all the things about it. But even though she does this, she still manages to succeed in her social life and be one of the popular girls at her high school, though she does good for people rather than being toxic and plastic.

Isabel

Isabel still wears her light blue dress generally and her pink and yellow ball gown formally, but sometimes she wears a specific outfit when she's either doing very hard work, or on a mission/adventure. This outfits includes full overalls, a pink and white striped polo shirt, short brown boots laced, and her go-pack filled with most of her tools. She is a super innovative inventor that is on her way of making some super high-tech inventions.

Francisco and Luisa

They basically have the same general and formal outfits.

Esteban

Esteban's formal wear would be a red or yellow tuxedo with a black dress shirt and yellow tie, trousers that match the color of the tuxedo, and black shoes. He also has a casual outfit which is of him wearing a black leather jacket, a light grey t-shirt, grey jeans and black shoes. Oh, and his hair is now an undercut but still the same style. Esteban would be that pain-in-the-butt kind of guy, but can also have a good heart. In his formal wear, he talks and acts super formal, but in his regular wear, he will still have the accent, but would be his natural way: that funny guy that likes to joke around.

Dona Paloma

Her outfit would be a grayish darkish blue suit jacket with a matching fedora and knee length skirt over a white polo, and black heels. She is quite rich with a net worth of 32 million dollars and she lives in a luxurious penthouse.

Everyone Else

I think I've done enough character looks. Every other character is up to you to decide, at least until the next chapter is up. But basically everyone would be wearing more nicer clothing.

Concept 2: Places and Buildings

So, of course the architecture has to change too, except for the palace. The palace has stayed the same since it was built a long time ago, besides the very few upgrades and electrical installations. However, Avalor City, the capital, is waaaay bigger than before, with the tallest buildings being near the bay and there being smaller towns scattered throughout the entire kingdom of Avalor. The forests have more roads in them, easier for travel, there are more parks, the port is HUGE (not only ports for cargo ships and cruise lines, but there is an area where many boats can park. There are many different types of restaurants, of different types of food. Also many types of stores that sell all sorts of things. Homes are either apartments, or in the suburban/more secluded areas of Avalor. There would also be more fun attractions, like amusement parks or water parks. Now to be more specific:

Dona Paloma's Emporium

Now named "Palomart," there are multiple stores situated around Avalor, the main one (and her favorite one that Dona Paloma herself manages) is in Avalor City. She has many employees working for her and a manager per store. The logo is a picture of her and her fan.

Army Academy

Yes, there is an army academy, and it's exclusively for the Avaloran Armed Forces. This is where they go to train and become strong soldiers protecting Avalor, possibly becoming royal guards working in the palace. More information of this will come soon.

Concept 3: WHAT TO EXPECT

This will be a modern au, so things will not be the same. The plot will not change, but the looks of things, some actions, and even entire episodes would be different. Now for some specific topics:

Transportation

The show's original ways of travel were by horse, coach/carriage, or ship. Now, there is travel by car, plane, train (though possibly never used in this AU), better looking ships, and the use of bikes and skates and skateboards etc. Jaquins will still be used, of course. But instead of horses, it would be either motorcycles, bikes, a car, or simply by foot. Horse riding would sometimes be used by the royal guard and for a hobby. And not all oversea trips will be by boat, some will be in a private jet. People will most commonly travel by air to places in the AU, though cruise lines will also be in this.

Technology

Yes, technology has changed. There are computers, TVs, phones, tablets, the radio, arcade games, electricity, light, the internet, and power plants in the mountains of Avalor. There are also guns for people to use rather than swords and bows. There are still swords but they are used quite rarely, and the most common crossbows now have scopes and are camo colored.

Music

Music isn't only played by a band now (though there will still be mariachi bands), but can also be played on devices. And all sorts of genres, at that. But there won't be singing in this au, and a story can not contain a song of course (unless someone proves otherwise).

Law Related

Yes, there are more rules in this. Basically the rules everyone should know, like don't hurt anyone, no stealing, kinda like US law. The adult age in this would be 20, because that's when Elena becomes queen. There will be law enforcement, like police, and there will be trials for those who commit crime, and the trials would be by justices (and of very severe, will involve royalty). Prison wouldn't be the dungeon, but instead there would be a maximum security prison on the island next to the palace. That prison would be where all the criminals and malvagos go if they do something very wrong. There would also be regular prisons situated around Avalor. And finally for this section, you would need passports, birth certificate, and most importantly identification, or I.D. A person can't just go around without any type of identification like, possibly everyone, did in the original TV show. They would need documents for tracking a record. And immigrants coming into Avalor would need to go through border control, to make sure there are no illegal immigrants coming in.

Avaloran Armed Forced

The Avaloran Armed Forces are the military forces of Avalor, who protect the kingdom from threats. The main branches are the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force (even though I may never talk about space in this AU). The more exclusive divisions, for the more worthy, are Special Operations Command (SOCOM), Secret Service, Military Police, Military Education, Department of State, and being the most exclusive, only accepting those who go through rigorous tryouts or get invited when becoming an officer, the Royal Guard. The rank structure of the enlisted is: Private, Private First Class, Specialist, Lance Corporal, Corporal, Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, Gunnery Sergeant, Master Sergeant, and Sergeant Major. The rank structure of officers is: Warrant Officer, 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, and Colonel. The rank structure for command is Brigadier General, Major General, Lieutenant General, General, and 5-Star General. Senior Command ranks are Vice Commander and Supreme Allied Commander. Currently the entire Senior Command is Princess Elena and her grand council, as Shuriki was the Supreme Commander in her rule. More info on the armed forces comes later, because I think I've wrote enough.

If I skipped or missed anything, please let me no and I will add it in after the 5th episode.

And, that's a rap for my concepts. I hope this helps when you read the au and if you have any suggestions or ideas, I will hear them and put them in, as long as they're good. The role swap sounds fun, though it was not what I intended to do, but I have time to think about it, because that isn't until episode 17 or 18. Thank you for reading, and tune in for more, because there's a lot more than you think.

O6, signing out.
