I present to you my new one shot a little different to previous one-shots as this one takes place from the perspective of as keima would put it a background character Moboku the class representative of class-2b
Originally I was writing a post conquest one shot but it was going nowhere and kept repeatedly hitting brick walls so instead I dropped it and used this idea I've had for a while about class-2B during the body switching arc.
The choice to use Moboku as the main character is influenced by chapter 2 of random signs by Bowpurity.

It was a clear day within the city of maijima. The wind had been picking up slightly more than usual a sure sign of the change in seasons that was fast approaching the region.
Within the maijima, academy classes continued as usual students came to school in the morning tired and trying to wake themselves up. At lunchtime, they would head to the bread stand at lunch to try and get their hands on the omelet-soba bread.
Those within the High School building of class 2-b there had been a noticeable change which the whole class had taken note of. One particular person within the class who had been taking note of this was the class representative Moboku.
The cause of this change was Keima Katsuragi also known as the Otamegane. In the entire time that she had been class representative. All Katsuragi had ever done was play games openly in class and mocking the teachers by getting perfect scores in his tests.
During her time sharing a class with him, Moboku didn't particularly care for Katsuragi she found him unlikeable and rude as well. Though recently he had been showing signs of change for the better originally his sister Elsie had joined the class early in the year. This was a surprise to everyone that the dweeb had a sibling especially one as cute as her. She seemed to had formed a friendship with Ayumi Chihiro and Miyako. On occasion, Katsuragi had been seen to be interacting with them though these meetings most likely happened due to his association with Elsie. Moboku had noticed as well that both Ayumi and Chihiro had changed how they referred to him as Katsuragi instead of Otamegane
This was just the first in a chain of events that she had noticed as she was class rep she liked to make sure that she was aware of what was going on around the classroom. This was the first falling domino in a series of events that Moboku had noticed around class 2-B.
But recently there had been a Major sudden change in Katsuragi. The first sign of this had taken place within Nikaido sensei's class a teacher that seemed to despise Katsuragi and his gaming more than any other teacher within the school. When suddenly out of nowhere he had dropped the console and raised his hand to answer a question in class. At first, everyone thought this was some sort of new act of defiance but to their surprise, he did seem to have changed for the better. He stopped playing games in class and had even started to greet people in the class in the morning even her as well.
A few hours later the last bell for the day rang out across the school signifying the end of the school day. People started packing their school books into their bags and some started to leave the room others went to talk to their friends around the room. Moboku breathed a sigh of relief glad to see the end of a tiring day she started packing her bag as well. It had been a very long day for her today and to make matters worse the class had been given an English assignment by Kodama Sensei. Though her grades were good English had always been a subject that she had the most difficulty within.(1) Honestly, this homework was going to be a pain for her to do but never mind she'd have to just try her best at it she thought.
Later on during her walk home from school, she was walking with her friend Hinata (2) when the conversation turned into a discussion about the English homework.
(I'm going to have to start Kodama's assignment either tonight or tomorrow to get a head start on it because I've always struggled with the written part of English.) Said Moboku with a look of dread on her face for the task she was going to have to do.
If your struggling with your English homework you could always ask otamegane for his help replied Hinata with a serious tone to her voice showing no sign that she was joking.
(Why would I ask him of all people? I don't want to catch his gamer cooties) exclaimed Moboku
(I overheard that he helped Kosaka-san and Takahara-san as well as his sister study for the midterm tests and they all came out with good scores.) replied Hinata
(But why would he help me out we barely have any connection to each other and he probably only helped them out that time because of his sister.) Said Moboku
(I'm only really suggesting the idea due to his recent change in character. Especially now that's he's starting to acknowledge people as well) Said Hinata
(All I'm suggesting is that if the assignment is going to be a pain to complete you might as well ask the school genius for help while's he's being cooperative with the rest of us). Carried on Hinata all the while with a serious look on her face.
(I'm going to try and attempt the assignment and get a start on it tonight first and see what happens) replied Moboku.
After that, the conversation moved onto other subjects such as school gossip and when Kanon might next come to class.
Later on that evening Moboku was sat at the desk in her bedroom her School uniform hanged up in the closet ready and waiting for the next day. She sat in her computer chair wearing a pair of Lilliac flannel pyjamas on her desk sat her computer a pair of earphones attached into the computer with one of Kanon's songs playing on the screen and playing in her ears as she worked on her homework. Apart from Komeda's English project the only other piece of work that she had to work on was some required textbook reading for science that she had completed already which was a breeze for her to do. So she had then started on the English assignment which had slowly dragging along as she carried on with the work.
The assignment that she was currently working on was to do with the translation of English grammar. The progress on it was going slowly if barely moving at all as she had to keep looking into her reference textbook to help her progress along. Kodama had referenced that this may appear within the next class text so she needed to master it by then.
Some more time had passed her by and Moboku was still trying to get somewhere with her homework . she then saw looked up from her papers and saw the time on the clock of the computer realising that it was starting to get late she stopped with where she was at and then turned off her computer and setting her alarm clock for the morning and turning her lamp off and retiring for the night.
The next day came and Moboku was sitting in class waiting for the first class of the day to begin. She would normally be one of the first people in the classroom and today was no exception normally she would talk with Hinata before class but today she seemed to be running late to class. So deciding to take a look around the classroom to see what was going on she saw Katsuragi at his desk playing around with a pair of drumsticks tapping them quietly on his desk. She didn't know anything about drumming but she could tell that he was skilled at it interesting she thought to herself she never knew that he could play the drums. Then again there were probably lots of things about him that people didn't know about.
Hinata's mention of katsuragi's personality change as well as his helping to tutor his sister and his friends before the exams. Made her think about seeing if he would help her with her homework assignment. They were classmates after all and classmates should help each other out if needed. Seeing that he was still at his desk Moboku stood up from her seat and approached his desk and making sure she was in his line of view and said excuse me.
(Katsuragi-san) she quietly called out to him to catch his attention
Katsuragi looked up from his desk to see who it was that was calling his name
(Ikarino-san good morning) he cheerfully replied to her.
(Good morning to you to katsuragi) she replied (I was wondering if you could help me?)
(I'll gladly help out if I'm able to ?) He replied with a cheerful smile on his face.
(I'm struggling with the English assignment that Kodema sensei gave to us yesterday and I'm finding it difficult and was hoping that you would be able to help me with it if you wouldn't mind. Because I know that your good when It comes to our English studies) she said.
(I can help you with that) he replied (if you are free at lunch I should be available to look over your work here in the classroom and give you some guiding points if that's alright with you?)
(That's okay with me) Moboku replied with a look of relief on her face glad that he was willing to help her out. (thank you Katsuragi) she continued.
After that Hinata entered the room and seeing Moboku waved at her returning the wave she turned to Katsuragi and said (if you'll excuse me my friend has just entered the classroom) before going over to Hinata while Katsuragi then went back to tapping away with his drumsticks at the table.
Five minutes after that their first-period teacher entered the room and declared settle down everyone take your seats class is now starting,
Moboku sat down for class and reached into her bag and got her textbook open and prepared for class registration. As the teacher took registration he called out the names in order eventually reaching
(Katsuragi Elsie)
(Here) she called out as energetic as ever

The teacher quickly had a look of genuine surprise on his face before carrying on with registration.
As ever observant to what was going on around the classroom around her Moboku noticed this and thought to herself how people were still being surprised by this new Katsuragi. In some ways she still couldn't tell whenever he was doing It all has some elaborate prank of some form or whether he had genuinely changed for the better.
She thought to herself if this was all just an elaborate hoax and he planned to suddenly drop the act as long as he carried it on long enough to help her with her studies then it was alright with her.
Lunchtime eventually came round and the class was free to do what they so desired for the time being. Hinata had left the room to go get her and Moboku some omelet soba bread while she was with Katsuragi she saw Him eating his bento once he had finished eating she went and approached him
she took the seat from the desk in front of him that was currently sitting empty and turned it around so she would be facing him and be able to see as well what he was doing as well.
(So Ikarino- san where is it that your stuck) he said to her while reaching for his own textbook to compare to her's.
(It's this section here that I can't understand) she said pointing to a section partway down to the middle of the sheet.
(Ahh this part I can understand how it may throw people off) he said (so if you were to start with this part here) he continued while pointing to his own sheet to show her what It was he had done.
Twenty minutes later they were finished and it all seemed so much clearer to her now. Katsuragi had shown how her how it was to do the homework and also as well managed to explain It in a way that she would be able to do it by herself in the next test.
(Thank you Katsuragi San) she gushed once they were done happy that she had been able to improve upon her method of understanding of the subject.
(It's no problem Ikarino- San) he said (I'm just glad to have been of assistance) he said to here with a smile on his face.
After that, she went and returned her textbook to her bag and went to see Hinata and collect her omelet soba bread after that as she and Hinata sat there eating their lunch and gossiping Moboku told her friend about her study session with Katsuaragi.
Afterward, during the next lesson after lunch Moboku was thinking back to what had just transpired and she thought to herself how surprised she really was by his recent change and how she actually saw him in a better light than she had previously thought of him. She actually thought of him as a kind person in some ways perhaps that cold disinterested attitude had really been some form of façade that he had been using all along and know he had become more comfortable with people to try and get involved with them. Part of her hoped that this wasn't just some sort of way of his to torment the school staff and that this was the real Keima Katsuaragi that she was seeing because she quite liked this version of him as she saw him as a good and warm person.
She was quickly pulled out of this thought as she was called on by Nakeido sensei to read out loud to the next paragraph of the textbook to the class.
According to information found online Japanase school students have difficulty in studying English especially due to grammar differences this is why I chose English as the subject that Yui in Keima's body helped moboku with her studies. As Yui is training to be lady and also has tutors as well I assume that she must have a good understanding of the English language to some degree.
The character of Hinata is based of a girl in class 2-B seen in the beginning of chapter 39( eager times) talking to Moboku. A similar looking girl can be seen talking to Moboku at the beginning of chapter 44 (half moon of love) though her face can't be seen I assume it is the same girl from chapter 39.
