"Previously on Heroes of Flowers-"
"Nice intro Rach! So Hiro built his energy amplifier, but he needed something bigger to test it on. Luckily, I rebuilt my Kentucky Kaiju."
"The one that NBB stole?"
"Yep. Anyways, the energy amplifier worked!"
"While that happened, David told his girlfriend that Mikan was forcing him to keep a secret, but she didn't show her true colors until the open house."
"And at the open house, Lenore Shimamoto told everyone she caused the Great Catastrophe! Downer!"
"Ouch. And Baymax and Hiro weren't there because they were 'Obake Hunting' but the Obake was a bot!"
"Dun-dun-dun!"
"Obake had a confrontation with Sally and Granville, there was more to the Fern kid's aunt and teacher of the school that he knew."
"Yeah and he mentioned some folks, who are those people?! And who's the person you mentioned!"
"Silly Fred, that's for future arcs."
"...You got me there. And Obake brought his villain friends to the school! And then he got away with the energy amplifier. Also Mikan knocked out Ari and kidnapped her own siblings! Shame on her! I had faith she was going to the good side!"
"Ari was the one who realized the reason Mikan worked for Obake was because she was his daughter! Not by blood but then again who's counting the blood and not-blood relations of this story? Because there's more to come!"
"The former or the latter?"
"It's for future arcs darnit Fred! And the viewers are too smart for their own good. We can't give them more breadcrumbs!"
"David and Sara weren't the only ones captured because Hiro got captured by none other than Baymax!"
"Gasp! And he took Hiro to Obake's evil lair."
"How will Hiro and the Fern kids escape Obake's clutches? Will Obake's plan succeed? Is Mikan going to do more evil things? And how will the rest of the Fern Family cope with knowing what Mikan has done?"
"Find out in the second-last chapter of Heroes of Flowers!"
"..Second last?"
"The epilogue is a separate chapter Fred! We need the building blocks to phase 2!"
"Obake." Hiro gasped as Baymax dragged him over. "But how?"
He gave no response, instead pointed to the screen. Hiro looked over and saw a clip of NBB on top of Baymax during the Krei-Tech attack, the small robot then opened his access port and placed the chip inside. "Noodle Burger Boy." Hiro sighed, he turned to his controlled companion. "I should have been there, but I was…"
"Doing vital work." Obake walked up to him. "For me." Hiro flinched as he held up the amplifier. Obake made a gesture and Baymax stopped gripping him, he gasped and grabbed his wrist. He then watched as Obake placed the amplifier in a component next to the "City Rising" painting.
"Lenore Shimamoto?" Hiro raised an eyebrow.
"I'm a big fan."
"More like obsessed." He turned around to see Mikan and the rest of the villains, the snow-haired girl was sharing sushi with Globby. "Amiright?"
Obake just glared at her. "Right." Mikan chuckled. "Sorry, continue explaining your awesome plans, I wanna hear!"
He cleared his throat and gestured to the screen, bringing up some blueprints. "Shimamoto built a rather unique machine. It created a star."
Hiro's eyes widened. "A star?"
"It collapsed quickly."
"Th-that would create a giant shockwave!" Then he realized. "Wait. That's how she caused the Great Catastrophe."
"Oh, you are sharp." Obake grinned. "But New San Fransokyo is so much larger now, so I need a bigger bang!" Hiro felt his jaw drop. "I improved on Shimamoto's inadvertent discovery. It should be quite a show."
"Why didn't I listen to Granville?" If he was regretting not listening now, he surely was at this moment.
"Because, like me, you were meant to push limits." Obake placed a hand on his shoulder, and then gestured to the screen. There was a simulation of the explosion on screen.
"But everyone will be-" Hiro gasped. "Aunt Cass, Ari, I have to warn them!" He tried to run out but Baymax held him back. He heard a sharp gasp from Mikan and looked up, her eyes were full of horror.
"If it's any comfort, even if they left now. They wouldn't make it out of the city in time." Obake told him, it only made the fear in his heart quicken.
Because of him, he'd lose the only family he had left.
"Wait..." Globby realized, turning to Momakase. "He's going to destroy San Fransokyo? Even Joe's Diner?"
Twack!
He got hit in the head with his sushi plate. "Your breath smells like garbage." Momakase walked off, NBB giggling at the interaction. The glob monster removed the plate from his face and blinked. A conflicting look on his face.
"Mikan." She looked up at the sound of her father's voice. "Now that you know what your future has in store, make sure your 'siblings' don't try to escape."
"Yes father." Her voice was grief-stricken as she left the room. Hiro felt a glimmer of hope seeing the doubt on her face. Maybe… maybe there's still good in her after-all.
"You will be quite safe here with me." He turned his attention back to Obake, he was working on a machine that NBB was sitting on. "Two visionaries, just hangin'."
"It's not about me." Hiro protested. "Y-you're gonna hurt millions of people."
Obake turned to him. "Together, we're going to create a star." He felt a stone drop in his stomach at the words. "Congratulations, Hiro, that's some final project."
"No! Just because you can doesn't mean you should."
"Uch!" Obake scoffed. "That's Granville talking."
"Because Granville was right." Hiro frowned. "She's been right all along."
The man wasn't convinced. "Nonsense. Do you know why Icarus plunged to his doom?" Obake walked up to him.
What kind of question was that? "Because he flew too high." He deadpanned.
"Because he needed better wings." He felt fear as Obake grabbed his shoulders. "We have the ability to remake the world, starting with this city."
He felt utter horror staring at the madman's cold blue eyes.
"The worthy survive."
"Why am I here?" Hiro demanded as Obake was leading him to a room that he was going to get stuffed in. "You have my energy amplifier. What more do you want? Uhg!" He felt NBB bump into him and he angrily shoved the robot back.
"A student."
He stopped. "Sorry?"
Obake smirked at him. "Granville doesn't understand your potential, but I do."
"W-what?" Hiro blinked.
"When my new city is complete, it will be a paradise for learning and research. I can't wait to see what you'll accomplish, what we'll accomplish."
He shoved the man's hand away from him. "What? You'd have to be crazy to think I'd ever join you!"
"You're a bit worked up right now." Obake gestured to Baymax, opening a door. "I understand. Tragedy has molded us, intellect has driven us, now we stand at the doorway to greatness!"
"You have your own kids!" Hiro pointed out. "Why not just pick Mikan as your student, s-she betrayed us for you!"
"Mikan sadly, has grown soft." Obake frowned. "My old friend Sal's teachings had gotten to her since her… accident."
That caused Hiro to freeze. "Accident?"
"Oh it was a small mishap, a bit of error when it came to experimenting." Obake waved it off. "She was mostly unscathed but ever since then Mikan had remained holding herself back."
Hiro growled. "She's your daughter. How could you say that about her?"
He ignored the statement. "Once it's all over, and there's nothing left to save, you'll see things differently."
"No, I won't." Hiro narrowed his eyes. "I'm not like you."
"Aren't you?" He gestured to the energy amplifier. Hiro paused, was he just as bad as Obake? Could he have ended up like him if he wasn't successful with the amplifier?
But before he could respond, Baymax shoved him in the room and slammed the door. Obake then handed the amplifier to NBB. "Go, set the wheels in motion."
"Oooh-ooh-ooh! An order off the secret menu. Yummy!" The small robot bounced out of view.
The man then turned his attention back to Hiro. "I don't deny my method is harsh, but winning tends to settle any arguments."
Obake had left half an hour ago. He only had the darkness and silence of the room to comfort him. I can't let him win. I can't. Hiro thought to himself, he then ran up against the door and tried busting it open.
Clang!
He only got severe pain in his shoulder as a result. "Ow!" As he tried instead pulling the door open, a purple blob coming from the ceiling caused him to yelp.
"Looking for a way out?" Globby questioned.
"What are you...?" Hiro questioned. "Wait. You're gonna help me escape?"
Globby nodded. "Yeah. I knew Obake was crazy, but I thought it was a fun crazy. Plus, I don't want to destroy the city. All my friends live there. Felony Carl and, um… Felony Carl…"
"That's the whole list, isn't it?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah." Globby then cleared his throat. "Anyways, I know the way out, but we'll have to get past Momakase. You might want to stay out of the way for that."
"W-what about Mikan?" Hiro questioned. "And David and Sara... I can't leave them here!"
"Don't worry." Globby told him. "I think Mikan will realize the same thing too, trust me on this one."
Hiro huffed, then sighed. "Okay, let's get out of here."
Ari was a nervous wreck, the others were going to the tallest place in the city to look for large energy sources, hoping to find Hiro. All she could do was sit in the garage and pray, a part of her wanted to go but she knew that Hiro would be a wreck if anything bad happened to her.
Oh, what did that stupid Obake want with my brother? She whined. Why couldn't he have taken me instead?
"Ari?" She gasped, turning around she saw her brother, standing right there soggy but safe.
"HIRO!" She nearly glomped him over as she squeezed him tight. "I was so, SO worried about you!" The tears started bursting from her cheeks.
"You're squeezing me too tight." He squeaked.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" She stopped hugging him. "I just-I was so scared Obake was gonna kill you and-" Ari then paused, seeing the glob monster behind Hiro. "Behind you-"
"He helped me escape!" Hiro interrupted before she could freak out. "I wouldn't have gotten out without him."
"Really?" She turned to Globby, who nodded. "Okay. I believe you, but what about David and Sara?"
"I know Mikan, she might have a loopy moral compass. But she doesn't want the city to get destroyed either." Globby told her. "She'll probably realize like I did that this is wrong, and break her siblings out."
"Even if it goes against her dad?" Ari questioned.
There was a pause. "She's not a monster."
"We can focus on Mikan later. Where are the others?" Hiro asked her as he got his superhero suit on.
"At the highest point in the city looking for you." Ari explained. "They know Obake's plan he's-"
"Trying to recreate the Great Catastrophe I know." Hiro grabbed his helmet, turning on the comm. "Guys, are you there?"
A chorus of "Hiro!" was the response.
"Where are you?" Wasabi questioned.
"Listen, Obake has control of Baymax." Ari gasped with horror. "He used him to capture me. I only escaped because of Globby."
"I'm a good guy now!" The glob monster screamed into the comms.
"Yay, Globby." Honey Lemon cheered. "I knew you weren't all bad." Globby then grabbed the helm which caused Hiro to trip as it flew off his head.
"Hey, it's the tall girl! She believed in me all along!"
"I'm really not that tall."
"Anyways." Hiro grabbed the comm back. "Globby and I will catch up to you, send us the location?"
"Sent." Gogo told him. "Wait, I'm getting something. Hiro, it's in the Kirena Point lighthouse."
"Copy that."
"How are we going to get there?" Honey Lemon questioned.
"I'll go." Hiro spoke up. "I'll use Skymax." Then he turned to Globby. "Change of plans, Globby will head to your location, you guys stay there."
"Okay." He nodded. "But what are you going to do?"
"Something I'll probably regret."
"Hey Hiro?" Ari tapped his shoulder, then pulled him into a quick hug, then hugged Globby, the glob monster lit up at the hug. "Good luck, I know you can do it."
"Thanks Ari." He smiled, then they both left, to catch up with the others and stop Obake once and for all.
Mikan was conflicted.
She didn't know what to do. She was walking by her father, who had an emotionless look in his eyes.
"Dad?" She spoke up, trying to ignore the sound of his cold words about her. She did overhear what he said to Hiro, but pushed it out of her mind. "What about Mo-Sally and Steven?"
"What about them?" He replied.
"Aren't you going to care? They'll get… I can grab them and-"
"No." Obake shut the idea down. "David was needed because he has potential as well, and Momakase wanted her son safe. Sara, although I did not request you to grab her, she has some potential as well."
What about me? Mikan questioned. Don't you think I have potential?
They stopped. Obake noticed Momakase was globbed to the wall, attempting to grab her katana. Obake walked over and peeled off the globs covering her mouth.
"The idiot glob helped the boy escape." She told them. Mikan gasped. Globby? But she wasn't surprised, Globby was as shocked as her about the true nature of her dad's plan.
Obake growled, his face glowing violet. "Bring him back!" He demanded, cutting her loose.
"Uhg!" She wiped away the globs off of her. "Why bother?"
"He needs guidance. My guidance." Mikan flinched at the harshness in his tone. She was silent as Momakase begrudgingly complied with the order.
"Are you done wasting my time?" Obake glared at her.
"N-no." She shivered.
"Then go back to making sure those two don't bust out."
"Okay..."
She felt empty as she walked down the hallways that were once home to her.
"AAAAAAAAH I MISS BAYMAX!"
Glare.
"Sorry Skymax. Ha ha." Hiro was riding on top of Skymax on his way to the lighthouse, which was cackling purple with electricity. As he landed inside, he saw his amplifier, surrounded by electricity as it charged up. It was 90% charged and counting, he had to hurry. Rubbing his magnet locks, he tossed bolts of electricity as he reached for the amplifier. He reached the center and attempted to pull the amplifier off, but it was stuck.
"Come on!" He struggled. "Skymax!" He then felt Skymax wrap his arms around him and tried helping him remove the machine. As the countdown beeped, he concentrated with all of his strength. Until…
Clang!
Hiro yelped as the amplifier came loose, he caught the breath he didn't know he was holding. He flew out the window but Skymax held him in his arms, and he saw the electricity in the room dimmer. He felt a sigh of relief. "Oh! That was so close."
As they flew away, they failed to notice a bolt of electricity form in place of the amplifier, continuing to charge the machine up.
Skymax carried him to where the others were, he landed and held the amplifier in one hand. "Guys, I did it!"
"Oh yeah!" Fred tackled him. "Up high, Hiro!" They high-fived.
"Phew! Thank god!" Wasabi cheered.
"Great job, Hiro!" He felt Honey Lemon hug him tight.
"Now we get Obake." Gogo grinned.
But the short celebration was ruined by Globby pointing to the lighthouse and saying. "Uh, what's that?"
It was the lighthouse, cackling with purple electricity. The top exploded and a small ball of light emerged, clouds formed behind it, circling the star.
"The reaction became self-sustaining." Honey Lemon gasped.
"Obake did it." Gogo's eyes were filled with horror.
"I was too late..." Hiro stared at the star.
"What do we do?" Fred turned to the others.
"Evacuate as many as we can." Gogo told them.
"Not enough time." Hiro had to think, they couldn't save everyone and the guilt would destroy them all. "We have to stop that shockwave."
"There's no way to stop something with that much force." Wasabi protested.
"Yes there is: with an equal and opposite force." He explained.
"But we'd need something enormous." Honey Lemon's words gave him an idea.
A reckless idea, but one that was their only hope.
"Enormous? We got that." He grinned at the others.
They went to the docks as Fred revealed his Kentucky Kaiju to them. Hiro and Fred were already in the cockpit.
"If we use the amplifier to make the Kaiju super-jump into the bay-"
"The giant wave could counteract the star's shockwave." Gogo realized.
"Guys, the city needs us." Hiro told them. "We were the ones who decided to become superheroes. Now's the time to be super."
"Hiro's right. We can do this." Honey Lemon nodded.
The lighthouse was by Fishtown, a feeling of dread was in their stomachs as Wasabi drove into the fray. But they had to be brave, for the city.
She had to be brave, for her siblings.
Mikan knocked on the door they were in and opened it. "David? Sara?"
"Mika!" They both chorused, hugging her tight. But she pulled them away.
"My dad, his plan is to create a star, to recreate the Great Catastrophe and build his new city." She told them, they both had wide eyes and horrified looks. "I love my dad, but I love my home more. And I don't want to kill people, I just wanted to make him proud. I did hurt people though, especially you two." She couldn't look at them in the eyes. "If there's one thing I can do, it's get you two out of here. I just hope maybe I can earn your forgiveness one day."
"Mika… you don't have to say sorry for feeling conflicted." Sara told her. "I'm angry sure, but you didn't have anyone to turn to."
"Yeah!" David nodded. "I know how you feel when it comes to choosing loyalty to what's right and your family, but I'm here to help."
She felt tears in her eyes. "Th-thanks guys." Mikan smiled. "Now, let's get out of here."
"Globby, Honey Lemon, you guys need to create a breaker to protect Fishtown. Wasabi, Gogo, keep people away from the shoreline." Hiro ordered through the comms. He watched from the cockpit as Globby stretched his body as a net, protecting the town from the bay, and Honey Lemon skidded up to him and tossed goop on the top for extra padding.
"You're very brave Globby, good luck." He overheard the two on the comms/
"If I don't make it. Tell Felony Carl he was my... he was my whole list."
"I don't know what that means, but I promise." Hiro then saw Honey Lemon toss a goopy heart to Globby. He gave a small smile from afar. Hopefully Globby makes it, he tanked Momakase slicing him into kibble like a pro. Hiro had his work to do, he began piloting the Kaiju towards the water.
On the outskirts of town, Gogo was carrying some kids over to Wasabi and a school bus, with several other kids waiting anxiously. But as she went to rescue more kids, a graphene katana slicing forward caused her to scream and duck.
"Bring me the boy and you'll be spared." Momakase demanded.
"Uhg!" Gogo groaned, but Wasabi leapt in front of her.
"Stay with the bus and protect the kids." He activated his plasma blades. "I'll take care of Momakase."
"We both know you're no match for me." She taunted.
"Actually, since we last met, I watched some instructional fencing videos online so... bring it on."
And the two clashed.
"Not so fast!" Mikan paused, they were almost out, but in their way was her other sister.
"What do you think you're doing sis?!" Trina demanded. "Going against Father's plan?"
"I don't want to be a part of this, not anymore!" Mikan growled, she would not heel. "I'm tired of being treated like a tool!"
"I thought you liked the comparison." She flinched at her cold-blue eyes. "You really think anyone will trust you after what you did? There's no other place for you to go."
Sara placed her hand on her shoulder. "She has a place with us."
"Yeah!" David nodded. "We're not gonna let you manipulate our sister anymore."
"She was MY sister first you thieves!" Trina then pulled out a graphene knife, both of them flinched. "I won't let you take her away from ME!" She roared and charged at them, Sara stood in front of David, they both braced for impact.
Wham!
Mikan had punched Trina into the wall, stunning her. Both siblings were shocked. "I'm sorry Tri..." They knew how hard it was for Mikan to do that based on how broken she sounded.
But there was no time to question, they had to escape now.
The Kaiju stomped into the bay, they were close to the star. "You ready for this?" Hiro turned to Fred.
"Yes, I am." Fred declared.
"No, you're not!" The cockpit opened as a small robot flew in. "Not without Mini-Max at your side!"
"Ho-ho! Sweet dramatic entrance, Mini-Max." Fred high-fived him. "You're getting the hang of this!"
Hiro then stopped the Kaiju, they were in front of the star, which had grown massive in size. He plugged in the amplifier. "When that star implodes, we jump."
Wasabi ducked out of the way from the katana. He was backed into an alley. His blades were rooted in the ground, Momakase struck. He felt his shoulder blades and locks of his hair fall. "Ahh! My dreads!" He yelped. Then realized one of his plasma blades was destroyed.
To his surprise, Momakase tossed one of her katanas to the side. He activated his remaining blade, bracing for impact.
Clang!
"Woah!" He ducked as a disk bounced from the alleyway and hit Momakae, a net shooting out and wrapping around her wrists. Then he saw Gogo tossed another disk that wrapped her legs, the crowd of kids behind her cheered.
"Yes!" He pumped up a fist.
"I got bored waiting on the bus." She told him.
Meanwhile...
"Wow, mister, your plans seem to be working." NBB was next to Obake as he worked on the computer, behind them was the mind-controlled Baymax.
"Seems?" He narrowed his eyes at the robot.
"I bet a song will…" He then shut off the robot, and turned to Baymax.
"Perhaps you'll be better company." He clicked a button that deactivated the mind-control.
Baymax whirred. "Hello, I am Baymax." He attempted to move but couldn't. "I am unable to move."
"Well, I can't have you running off, but I thought a chat might be nice.
Baymax just stared at him. "I'll be remembered forever because of what's about to happen. Impressive, isn't it?"
"You are in need of medical care."
"Oh, this?" He touched the side of his face, which glowed purple. "A souvenir from a childhood mishap."
"The damage is significant and growing." Baymax pointed out. "It is affecting your temporoparietal junction."
"The part of the brain that allows one to tell right from wrong. I know."
"Your condition is treatable."
He laughed. "Why would I want to do that? It's been quite liberating."
Baymax titled his head at him.
"Is it time now? Now? How about now? Ooh, I know, now!" Fred was anxious, he wanted to get this right, but was trying to hide his fear with excitement.
The star whooshed as it got large enough.
"Now!" Hiro activated the amplifier and buckled up. "It's Kaiju cannonball time."
As they jumped in the air, Fred turned to Hiro. "I just want you to know that being a superhero with you is an honor."
The others said words of encouragement, words of confidence. Hiro tried to apologize for the whole thing being his fault, but the others told him that they got through mistakes as a team. He could nod in agreement as Kaiju got high enough into the stratosphere, curled into a ball position, and began crashing down.
The star rumbled, then shrank.
Then exploded.
The Kaiju crashed into the water. Hitting the bottom. The wind whooshed as the waves began crawling on top of the explosion. Come on come on come on please work.
He watched in relief as the waves swallowed the explosion.
"I'm questioning all my life choices."
"You've got this Globby!"
Globby braced himself as the waves came lurching forward. He held his ground, a few geyers splashed through him but Honey Lemon was ready to seal any leaks. He held his ground, determined.
And then the waves resided. "It worked!" He chuckled.
Honey Lemon squealed, hugging him. "Oh, I knew you could do it!"
"Yes!" Wasabi cheered from the bus, the students were clapping. He felt the hand of the little girl who clung to him let go, her worries ceased when she saw they were going to be alright.
Gogo smiled as she held a mother cat in her arms, the feline's kittens squeaking with joy as they were safe.
The only person who was not safe was Obake, rocks cluttered as he saw what happened on the monitors. "Hiro. How could he possibly…?"
"Hiro is clever and resourceful." Baymax pointed out.
He saw the screens close, his plans falling apart one by one. "My new city. My dream. They still remember Shimamoto, they revere her."
"My scan indicates that this is sustaining damage." Baymax told him.
"This wouldn't have mattered, I would've lived forever. The man who remade the city into something perfect." He shut his eyes, then turned to Baymax. He opened his access port and tossed his chip out.
With control of his body again, Baymax patted his shoulder. "There, there."
"You should go." Obake told him.
"You are in danger."
"Yes, I'm aware of that!" He yelled.
"Do I have your permission to help you?"
"Go to him! Go to Hiro!" Obake commanded, he heard equipment crash. "Tell him I still think we would've done great things together. And tell my daughter, tell my Mika..."
Baymax blinked.
"That I still think she has potential deep down if she allows herself to embrace it."
"I am a personal healthcare companion. I cannot leave until you say you are satisfied with your care."
He sat down in his chair. "I am satisfied with my care."
Obake didn't turn around as he heard Baymax leave. His last moments alone were filled with regrets, things he wished he did better. Things he wished he could've done with his children had he not pushed them away for some "greater purpose." He forced his Mika to hurt her family and gave Trina no other goals than to serve as a minion for his work. He even treated NBB like garbage despite the little robot looking up to him as a father! He wished he could tell both of his daughters that they didn't need to follow them, that he just wanted them to be there for each other. But seeing the escape on camera meant that his daughters would never be on the same sides again, a sad ending to this broken family.
Then the rocks came tumbling over him.
"Everything's jammed!" Hiro turned to his right, they were stuck in the Kaiju. Fred tried opening one of the eyes but they were all jammed. He shook his head at Fred, there was no hope in sight.
Then, he saw an arm grab one of the eyes and toss it into the air. Hiro gasped with joy.
"I was alerted to your need for-"
"Baymax!" He jumped on the robot, hugging him tight, he could only cry with joy.
"Hiro." Baymax hugged him back. Fred joined in on the hug as well.
"We are still stinking!" Mini-Max pointed out.
"It is time to go."
They flew to the shore where their friends (and Globby) were waiting in anticipation. They landed on a nearby rock. "Oh, you guys are okay!" Honey Lemon exclaimed. As Hiro got off of Baymax he got hugged by her again.
"Nice job, genius." Gogo walked up to him. "You helped the bad guy create a star."
"I know." He sighed. But she playfully punched him on the shoulder.
"You also saved the city."
"Thanks, but none of this would have happened if I hadn't been so… me."
"Tadashi was right." They looked up at Baymax. "You are a good kid."
Then they all hugged, with Globby even joining in! The day was saved, they were going to be okay.
"It was a countdown to catastrophe, but thanks once again to Big Hero 6 I am fine. And the city is, too. Which is what I was worried about. Who are these mysterious do-gooders?"
"Meow!" Ari smiled at Mochi, who was trying to calm Cass down. As much as she wished to tell her Hiro was fine, they had to see him in person. Just her luck, her brother and Baymax walked into the cafe. She stood to the side as Cass hugged him tight. And chuckled as he tried lying that he was at the school, and when their aunt tried asking if there was something he wasn't telling her, he started rambling about food.
"Hey Hiro!" She then walked up to him, hugging him softly as if to not irritate any injuries. "And hey Baymax. I was worried about you. Both of you."
"Hello Ari." Baymax waved to her. "We are alright."
"Yeah." Hiro smiled at her. "We're fine."
Hiro knew what he had to do the next day. He walked into school, making a beeline for Granville's office. He heard her "come in," and walked inside.
Hiro entered the office, amplifier in hand. "So, about my final project, I'm-"
"Getting an A." She showed him her screen, which were the photos the students they rescued took of them. "For showing ingenuity and for saving the city."
"Thank you, Professor Granville. Uh, for everything." He stared down at the amplifier. "For trying to teach me about limits. I think I get it now." He then handed the device to her.
"It's a lesson I've had to relearn a few times myself, Mr. Hamada." Granville told him. "Everyone makes mistakes."
He smiled as she placed the amplifier in a safe next to her desk. "But don't get too comfortable. Next semester will be even more of a challenge. I hope you can handle it."
Hiro nodded. "Professor, how is Sally? Did Mikan..."
Granville then showed him another photo, the photo of the Fern Family, with Mikan in the middle being hugged by her family. "Ms. Ferns made the right choice in the end." She told him. "She wishes to make amends next semester."
"That's good." He nodded. He might not forgive her now, but he wanted to be friends with her again in the future. Hiro then proceeded to exit.
"Hiro..." He stopped at the door. "Do you know what happened to him?"
He could only stare back and frown.
"I do not detect Aken comma Bob."
"He could''t have survived this. It's impossible."
"As you have said, nothing is impossible."
"Baymax and I tried looking for him last night, we found nothing but..." Hiro paused. "Perhaps he's still out there, but we don't know." He then gestured to his eyes. "I'm so tired the reason you can't see the bags under my eyes is because I'm wearing make-up."
Both student and teacher smiled at the joke. "Thank you for telling me." Granville sighed. "Enjoy the rest of your semester break."
"Thanks." He smiled as he left. "I will."
AN: And that was CtC! Not much change except that part with Mikan... homegirl may be wicked but she ain't a madwoman.
Though her actions will have consequences : )))
Also rip Obake. He did truly care about his kids in this fic, but also he made the wrong choses that is gonna screw them over. And he can't take them back if they wanted to, so sad : (
QOTW: Thoughts on Mikan after this? Her actions in this won't be rug-swept and she'll work on getting better!
