Once Eddie was done freeing Buck from all the medical equipment they went up the stairs, with Hen still chuckling not far behind them. Buck looked confused back at Hen several times while they went up the stairs, causing him to nearly fall because he didn't notice that the next step had already come. When they got up the stairs they both saw and heard Maddie laughing at Chimney, while Chimney was standing looking at her with shock and horror, but once they noticed Eddie and Buck they both stopped, Maddie needing a few seconds to compose herself when Chimney whispered teasingly and lovingly while passing her: "I'll get you back for this later", before calling over Bobby and Athena, and they all went to the dining table for a talk.
"Thank you all for coming. I wanted Buck to join us for this conversation, while there will still be a debriefing on today's events on a later point" Bobby said, looking at everyone while doing so. Noticing Buck was looking down at the floor with hurt and embarrassment, he continued in a more sympathetic tone: "I know that everyone here is here because we love Buck, and we wanna help as best as we possibly can. After today's events I realize that maybe this conversation should have been held a little sooner. I was hurt by Buck's actions", he noticed the burning eyes Maddie and Eddie sent him, and Buck get smaller in his chair, but didn't stop; "and it was because of that hurt that I was blind to Buck's suffering, a lot of us were, and that is my fault as a captain. I should have set a better example for this house, insted we all shunt Buck out, removing his support network when clearly he needed it the most. Therefore" he was looking straight at Buck now, making sure he had eye contact before he continued: "Can you forgive me Buck?". Buck looked at him shocked before stammering: "Of cau...cause Bob… Bobby. I w...was the one wh… who was an i… idiot". Buck looked back down to the floor while mumbled something to low for anyone but Eddie to hear, and Eddie didn't look happy about what he heart and moved closer to Buck, putting his arm around him close and whispered: "You are not worthless, and I'm gonna tell you as often as as many times as it takes for you to get it". Buck didn't answer Eddie, just continued looking at the floor; his breathing sped up a little, but Eddie just started rubbing his back, and this seemed to calm him down a little, but Eddie knew this meeting probably should last too long and send Bobby a look to let him know, Bobby noticed and send Eddie a nod back as to say message received.
"I won't let this drag on for too long. It has been a long day for all of us, with a lot of emotions and thoughts that we will need to process. I guess this meeting was mostly to say that nobody is alone tonight", Bobby looked sternly at all of them before continuing, "we all need to get some rest, and none of us is to burn in with what their feel, it doesn't have to be me you talk to, but talk to someone. I don't wanna lose any of you", he made sure to enhance the word 'any' to let Buck know that it included him too. He wasn't sure if Buck got the message, but if not, he knew Eddie did.
Maddie and Chimney left together, after making sure Eddie had everything he needed for Buck. Maddie still felt a little worry, but she knew that nothing was gonna happen with Eddie looking out for Evan, they had some special brotherly bond, not like her and Buck but similar.
Hen left alone, but they all knew she wouldn't be for long, having Karen, Denny and Christopher with her once she got home. She gave Buck a hug and a kiss on the cheek before saying: "Don't do anything stupid tonight Buckaroo, you're too loved and too good for that" and then she left wawing to them.
Athena and Bobby followed Eddie and Buck out to Eddie's car. Athena hugged Buck and helped him into the passenger seat, while Bobby shared a few words with Eddie, letting him know to call them before anything happens. Then Athena and Bobby left for home as well, glad that this at least didn't end in further tragedy. Athena looked at her husband, he was quiet and she knew he was thinking about Buck, the kid that was like an extra son to them and whom they had been so close to losing today.
Eddie sat in the driver's seat and looked over at Buck. He still couldn't believe he had been so blind as to not see how much Buck had been hurting, he had known Buck had a tendency to let things build up, and to blame himself for things that were far from his fault, so how could Eddie have been so blind as to not see this coming. He sent Buck a smile before turning into gear and driving home, silence in the car the entire trip there.
