Instead of following Eddie inside when they reached his house, Buck hesitated at the door. Eddie's house was huge! Normally Buck wouldn't have thought much of it, with Eddie having Chris who needed the space and all, but now where it was only him and Eddie here, the place somehow seemed enormous. Eddie stopped in the hallway and looked back at Buck, who had turned slightly to look back at the front lawn, still standing in the door nervously. "Well don't think you would make it to far if you're thinking of doing something stupid like running, you're so exhausted that you're barely standing" Eddie teased Buck. "And don't even think I would hesitate to call Athena, or even Maddie, if you do" he laughed; "Now what do you say we find something to eat for you, and some pills as prescribed by the doctor, and get some shut eye" Eddie said while moving to stand next to Buck and supported him into the house, seeing how he really did look like someone who was too exhausted to still be standing. He guided Buck all the way over to the couch and sat him down, before going to the kitchen to prepare some food and find Buck's medication that Maddie and Chim had neatly packed into single doses, easy for Eddie to grab and give to Buck. When Eddie returned to the living room, he found Buck laying on the couch almost asleep. He sat the glass of water and the medication on the table in front of Buck, and went to fedge a pillow and blanket for Buck while smiling to himself, he hadn't thought it would be this easy to get Buck to rest.

By the time Eddie came back with the pillow and blanket, the pills were gone along with most of the water, and Buck was sleeping heavily. Eddie put the blanket over Buck, tucking him in like he normally would with Chris, and lifted up his head ever so slightly to put the pillow under it, making sure not to wake Buck. Before leaving the living room, and Buck, Eddie turned off the lights, allowing just a little dim light to be on, hoping that it would be enough to let Buck orient himself and not panic in case he woke up, which given his current state Eddie doubted he would for many hours, then snapped a picture and sent to both Maddie, Athena and Hen, so to let everyone know that it was calm for now. Eddie went out to the kitchen to fedge some food for himself and place the leftovers in the fridge for Buck when he woke up. He felt a series of buzzings in his pocket, probably indicating that the others had seen the picture, and he laid down on his bed, fully dressed, closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Buck woke up a few hours later, feeling very drowsy still but unable to sleep. At first he didn't quite remember what had happened or where he was, but then it all came back at once, the texts he had sent to the others, Athena and the others finding him, the hospital and the firehouse… and Eddie; Buck looked around again, he knew he was laying on Eddie's couch, and he assumed Eddie was the one that had tucked him in with pillow and blanket and left a dim light on for him, he smiled and sat up all to aware from experience that he wouldn't get any more sleep at the moment.

Buck searched for something to do, feeling uneasy and starting to panic slightly from coming up empty, he started to fidget around picking up everything, turning it in his hand before putting it down again. Buck felt his heart start to pound and his breathing become more shallow, why was this so difficult? When did everything stop making sense? Why hadn't he been able to just do what needed to be done? He had made everything so much worse. Why did the others even bother looking for him, when he had hurt them all so much by his presence? He knew Eddie would help him, always making him feel more at ease, why couldn't he just go wake up Eddie? He knew the answer to the last question was that he didn't wanna be a bother to Eddie, to anyone really, after all that was why he had done what he did; so why was it again he hadn't been able to finish it? It couldn't have been Athena finding him; she would never have been able to find him if he hadn't hesitated in the first place. His heart sped up even more and he found himself moving down the hallway to the bedrooms, stopping in front of a closed door. He moved his hand up to grab the handle, heart raising so hard it felt like it was gonna jump out of his chest, and opened the door. Buck entered the room slowly, closing the door shut behind him again, and placed himself in the middle of the room… Chris room.

Buck turned around slowly, admiring all the drawings covering the walls, studying the interior of the room, taking in everything. He went over to the bed and sat down in the middle on top of the covers. Still sitting he closed his eyes and pictured Chris, remembering how it had felt when both Chris and Denny had hugged him at the hospital, he felt how his heartbeat slowed and it became easier to breathe again. He hadn't meant to lay down, but suddenly he found himself doing just that, his legs dangling out over the edge of Chris bed and hugging Chris pillow. He didn't have the energy, or the will, to fight the sleep, so instead he just fell into it, smiling while embracing the odd warmth and safety he felt at the moment.
