Reunited
Finally! There it was again – that wonderful feeling of warmth and content that she'd missed for so long. She had spent countless moments longing to feel like this again and now reality surpassed even her wildest dreams.
Kara relaxed into the hug and breathed deeply, inhaling Lena's scent. She listened to her friend's steady and familiar heartbeat and closed her eyes as she felt Lena stroking her back. The Super wanted to say so many things but couldn't find the right words. So she just held on to Lena, reveling in this feeling of being where she belonged.
When they finally broke apart, Lena didn't let go of Kara completely but took her hands and looked into the Kryptonian's blue eyes. Kara looked right back into the Luthor's green orbs and saw tears there. But they were not tears of sorrow. They were tears of happiness. Lena was giving Kara the special look she reserved only for the Super – a look full of love, care and happiness.
"I've missed you so much", Kara finally whispered.
"I've missed this." She gave Lena's fingers a soft squeeze as she glanced down at their joined hands.
"I've missed us", she breathed and embraced Lena once more.
"Me too, Kara, me too", Lena sighed and closed her eyes as she let herself sink into the comfort of Kara's embrace.
This embrace was all they needed at this moment. They would spend hours talking later but right now all that mattered was that they were reunited.
