The brightness of the stars in the night sky shined through the window of the tree where the Goofy Gophers lived in. The gophers themselves were embracing each other in a cuddling embrace as Mac petted Tosh's fur in a comforting manner.
"Shhhhhhh. It's going to be okay Tosh. I am here for you." Mac said to his partner softly.
"Oh I know, but what if you weren't? What if my nightmare was a reality? What if you were really gone for 30 minutes and never came back because you were eaten by a sea monster?! OH THE HORROR!" Tosh replied in fear.
Mac was quite surprised that Tosh would dream such things, even though he knew he really shouldn't, since this isn't the first time Tosh had a wild imagination. "I know how it feels to have such scary dreams. I've had them before." Mac said.
"Really?" Tosh asked kind of surprised.
"Oh yes yes. I've quite a few of them in my past, including one where I was chased by a pair of bongos with tiger teeth!"
"...what?" Tosh asked confused.
"Yes it sure was weird but that's not the point. My point is we've all dreamt something scary at one point. No matter what though, everyone will always have someone to protect them from those scary dreams. That includes you and me. We protect each other!" Mac said.
Tosh couldn't help himself. He started to cry tears of joy. "Oh Mac! I can never tell you enough how much I love you!" He said as he hugged Mac in a tight embrace.
Mac looked down at Tosh with a smile and half-open eyes. "There there my precious Tosh. You're safe. I will always be there to protect from any danger, that's a promise."
Mac and Tosh looked at each other completely in love. "Oh Mac! I love you so much!" Tosh said happily.
"And I love YOU so much my lovely Tosh." Mac replied.
The Goofy Gophers then got close to each other and kissed each other softly. After about 6 seconds they let go of their kissing embrace and went back to snuggling. After a few minutes both Gophers fell asleep in each other's embrace.
