Welcome one and all, to this excursion into Big hero 6, big vent coming up + disclaimer, skip if you are not interested.
Some of my readers know that I have been writing for a long time, trying to keep consistent uploads and such, in that I failed. My grandmother, whom I lived with, got sick about half a year ago, not corona but a lot of pain from a infected nerve, she was beginning to dement as well resulting in a terrible situation for me, her primary care taker, and I was unable to motivate my self to do much other than game, dnd, and help her.
She died roughly two weeks ago and I have been having trouble processing, I think I am dealing but honestly, by how hard the previous bit was to write I don't think I am deal well... well BH6 has been a good way of both distracting myself and returning some of the lust for life I had. It has helped me laugh again, which I had not really done in months. Then inspiration hit me and I wanted to write this story, you might see some venting in it and honestly I think keeping Tadashi alive is me trying to deal with loss by removing it? I don't know, but enough of that, onto the fic after the disclaimer because the mouse scares even me these days!

Everything hurt. Why did everything hurt? I don't know. Who are you? I am you I think? Why are you asking me? I don't know. Who are we?
Tadashi.
Did you run in as well? Yes. Are we alive? I think so, are we stuck together? I think so. Fuck. Watch your language. Oh your one of those. I am yes, though its mainly for my little brother. Hiro, right? Kid with the battlebot thing? Yeah, how did you know? Watched the movie and series they made about him.
What!?
Yeah, you, or well we, are not supposed to be alive however. I was supposed to die in the fire? Yes, it was Hiro's coming of age story, where he became a super hero. Super hero... Yes, super hero, along with Baymax and your friends. Like boss-awesome? Why!? That's ridiculously dangerous! I can't tell you. Tell me! I am literally unable too! God this is fanfic 101! No spoilers!
What!?
Yeah, kind of sucks honestly. By the way who is in control of our body? No clue, I don't really want to try moving. I understand the feeling believe me, it's not my first catastrophic injury. Really? Yeah lost my legs and everything. That sucks... did I lose any limbs here? Think it's we from now on, but yeah most likely, we did run into a collapsing burning building. Fuck. Ha, it's not as bad as you think, changed my life, made me less of an asshole to people.
So how are we going to live like this? No clue! I think we need to know who controls our body first, then decide. Fair enough, though I am more than happy to keep you in charge, disembodied spirit is as interesting an afterlife as I would have expected. You're really fine with just being like this? Kinda, I'm going to be offering advice of course, and the occasional joke. Maybe some crude comments now and then.
They laid there for a long time, not wanting to try moving with the amount of pain they were in, they talked about themselves.
….
Okay, lets do this, same time, alright? Alright then.
He tried to open them, to open his eyes, while the spirit which still refused to tell its original name did the same. It was painful, they had been closed for a very long time, they had been asleep for a long time. Slowly it began to work, his eyes, no that was not right... his eye... opened, he had lost an eye, his left eye was gone, looking up at the fuzzy white ceiling, that slowly came into focus from only his right.
The room was dark, it was likely night then, he looked around the room to the best of his limited ability, confirming that he was indeed in control of his body, not the spirit. It was dark as earlier confirmed, a heartrate monitor was beeping slowly in the corner, and a sleeping Aunt Cass sat in a chair. He looked down at his body... what remained of it... shifting the covers with his remaining half of an arm, his left was simply gone, amputated at the shoulder, the right was reduced to a stump at the elbow.
His chest had a few burns but not as much as he expected, meaning that he had probably been chest to the floor, as his back felt scarred and dry, his legs were still there, mostly, he had lost his left foot and right leg below the knee.
Now I know this seems ba-
Seems bad! It is bad! I look like a wreck!
How was he ever going to recover, how was he ever going to be a proper brother or even a member of society! He would not be able to work on Baymax, not be able to play games with Hiro, not be able to stop Honey Lemon from going crazy with chemicals, wouldn't be able to help Wasabi organize, read through weird comics with Fred or teach Go-Go more guitar play, hell he wouldn't even be able go to the bathroom on his own!
Calm down! Get your shit together! Believe me, I understand the angst I really do! And I know how easy it is to fall into it. Depression is a real bitch, you want to stay as far away from that as possible! You have a lot of friends and you are a whole bunch more social and smart than I am.
Was he right, yeah Hiro and Cass would stay with him, he was sure of that, his friends would always be there for him. But he would still be burden to them, still be unable to do anything himself.
Then make it possible! Aren't you a robotics major, you already built an advanced robot right?
I did yes, Baymax's robotics are pretty good, Hiro was always the one better with robots, I'm more of a programmer slash engineer. But even if I could create something that would work for me how would I design it?
I don't know! You're the genius here think about it, what could you use?
I think I have a plan... thanks for the pep talk, it helped.
No problem, I think you might need a few more before this is all trough, but if there is one thing I am decent at its playing support.
He was feeling very tired all of a sudden, closing his eyes... eye, he ignored the pain and fell asleep.
…
The next day he awoke to an excited Aunt Cass, hugs were out of the question, but he got a lot of fussing attention. Apparently he had only been unconscious for 3 days, despite it feeling like much longer.
"Ah I am so glad you are awake! Hiro will be too, he has not been doing well with you gone, I didn't want him to see you like this, not while there was still a chance you were going to get up." Her sentence started excited but ended on a near whisper, he sent her a small smile and she returned it. "At least you still have your looks..."
She had held up a mirror at his request a little while ago, his face was mostly untouched by the fire, the doctors suspected a piece of rubble had taken his eye instead. The only scar on his face other then the loss of his eye was a small line of three stiches across his left cheek, just below the cheekbone
"I am fine Cass, I have some ideas that might help me, and... and I don't want him to see me until I know if it's possible or not."
"You don't mean-"
"I don't want you to get your hopes up either, I have no idea if its going to work or not."
"I understand, its nice to talk to you again." They both smiled again, Cass had been by his bedside as much as she could, his friends had helped her a lot as well, taking over shifts at the Lucky-cat or staying by his bed as well, Gogo and Wasabi most often, as they both lived fairly close to the hospital. "Oh by the way your friends are coming over at six tonight! Apparently they invited Hiro as well, but he was out for what feels like the first time since the fire, I had him do some groceries across town, so it was a bit forced..."
Does she always talk this much?
Yeah, you get used to it.
It's kind of endearing honestly...
….
Seeing his friends bursting into his hospital room brought a smile to his face, they had all seen him unconscious after the fire, and were luckily not shocked by his appearance, that would have made it all a bit awkward. Honey was the first inside, screaming in happiness, Fred not far behind her in excitement, the more reserved Gogo and Wasabi were smiling happily.
"Tadashi! You look li- ouch!" Fred's probably dumb comment was cut off by a punch from Gogo, she and Wasabi sat down on the foot end of the bed whilst Honey took the chair and Fred remained standing.
"Were all glad to talk to you again." Honey said, "We were all worried e-"
"I wasn't, knew you would wake up." Gogo interrupted, her smile was a rare sight, but seen now. The girl was an introvert through and through, but getting her out of her shell was doable if one had the patience to try, she was one of the first friends he made on campus. He had found himself drawn in by her personality, how she always took life at a charge.
"-ven Gogo." Honey finished as if Gogo had said nothing, the positive girl always happy, tough she seemed ready to burst with it now. She had been a bit of a loner to start out with, people often found her a bit too pushy, but she was as true a friend as could be. Even if her glass half full attitude was tiring in large doses, she could tune it down as well, and nothing calmed her down quicker then cat videos.
"Its been tough to keep the lab clean without you around, Fred keeps insisting on eating there." Wasabi said with a shudder, though he was still smiling, the big man was the oldest in the group, at 23, and had trouble making friends. It had taken him introducing Wasabi to the others before the man had started to socialize.
"Yeah we all missed you Tadashi! Been really boring reading alone, I managed to stop myself from reading the latest captain Fancy comics so we could do it together! That's a lie, I couldn't resist!" Fred ranted off, exited as always, the man was always friendly and nothing made him happier than reading comics with his friends.
"I am really happy to see all of you, really happy, catch me up on all that's been happening?"
Time seemed to fly by, with them just talking and him given a bit of input on occasion, it felt nice, calmed him a little bit. Despite what he knew and the spirit kept telling him he was still a bit nervous about talking to them again, it was nice to be sure that noting had really changed.
"Anything you want Tadashi?" Honey asked as they prepared to leave, visiting hours were almost over and he was feeling pretty tired.
"Yeah, and I know this is going to sound strange, but I need a few things." He said, almost attempting to scratch his head as he always did when nervous. "Remember that remote control pencil I made a last year?"
"The one that kept flying away because you put thrusters on it." Gogo asked, holding her helmet under arm with a raised eyebrow. "You kept that?"
"I keep all my old projects." He said smiling, "But yeah that one, its in my lab, I need you to get it, a whole bunch of notebooks, and one other thing..."
"What other thing?" Wasabi said, holding a almost sleep drooling Fred away from him.
"Remember the Neurotransmitter Hiro used for the micro bots." At their affirmation he continued, "He made a spare, I stored it in my lab as well, just in case his broke before the show, I will need that one as well."
Realization dawned on everyone's faces, except Fred, who seemed confused, which was expected.
"You think you could link them up!?" Honey almost shouted, "That means you could write!"
"I think we all got that Honey Lemon, its what he wants to write that I want to know, he is still injured." Gogo sent him a serious look, he almost flinched, he knew that look, it was the talk or pain one. "So tell us. Now."
"I want to build a body." He answered, getting a series of interesting looks, but he knew they understood, he knew they would help.
"Wait what are you talking about." Fred said loudly.
He is really not bright, but I like these guys, they seem like a good group of friends.
They are the best.
…
Getting the flying pencil linked up to the neurotransmitter was easier said than done, Hiro had made a very advanced piece of tech, made specifically for his microbots. Gogo, Honey and Wasabi all helped rewriting the programs for it, following his instructions, eventually he could get to work.
So what are we building?
Asking me is probably not a good idea, my ideas involve a lot of probably impossible things. More of a writer then a scientist in all honesty.
I mean, you said that the others and Hiro are going to become super heroes right? That there is some kind of big threat that could wipe out the city
Yeah, I think I understand what you are getting at here. You want me to tell what to put into your new augments and cybernetics to allow you to join them.
Exactly.
Well lets start out with the basics, how do we get mobile again.
So arms, legs, hands and feet, im thinking we could link them up to a neurotransmitter, it should allow for easy control.
Hmm, could work, but lag and bad connections would be a death sentence, maybe a landline like connection.
Maybe an artificial spinal cord, layered over my broken one, thin enough to be worn under the clothing, without being seen, we could then connect it with a few cables.
Whilst they were 'talking' he had been using the pencil to draw out the beginnings of a plan, it was remarkable efficient in reality.
One thing we have to consider is that losing the neurotransmitter would render us completely immobile.
Fair point. What are you thinking?
Implants.
That... is not as insane as you might think at first. I know stuff like that was rare and near impossible wherever you came from, but here... yeah, if we start with implants, why not go full out.
You sure? Transhumanist much...
Well if we need surgery anyway why not? We could instal connector joints for my arms and legs, should allow us to easily upgrade.
Upgrades yes we should keep that in mind, on the note of upgrades, we should include something of a weapon in the first draft, something well hidden, palm lasers maybe?
Not really my area of expertise, more Wasabi's and I don't really want him to worry about me needing a laser.
How about an EMP cannon?
I could build that, did one on a challenge once... also served as a stun gun as Fred found out.
Ha. How small can you make that?
Very, tough not without some harder to obtain materials, I could fit it in the lower arm easily, though battery will be an issue.
Use your right leg for battery storage?
Could fit a fair amount more charge in there yeah, though I would need to take it off every night to charge... any other suggestions.
How do feel about swords? You did take Kendo classes when you were younger...
Hard no on that.
Il change your mind eventually.
Suuuure.
….
"That's far more intricate then I thought Tadashi." Gogo was looking over the designs he had made, attentive eyes scanning the documents. "Lots of microelectronics, augments as well, are you sure this is exactly how you want it."
"Yeah, I have been working on it nonstop for days now, don't have much else to do."
"Alright, il sneak into SFIT, and get these things manufactured." Gogo was the only one with the attitude to break into there, luckily she was also the only one with the knowledge of working the manufacturing equipment. "Don't tell Fred I am breaking in, he will not stop asking me to do it again otherwise."
"My mouth is sealed, thank you Gogo."
"Not a problem Dashi." She left quickly after that, with him smiling at the thought of moving, of walking again.
Dashi?
She is the only one who calls me that.
Hmm.
What?
Oh nothing, how are we, or well you, going to convince the doctors to implant all those things?
I am going to call in a favour, from Mira Malenkov.
Who?
You'll see.
…..
"So your really going through with this..." Cass asked as she looked at the various parts and pieces laid out on the table, a look of worry on her face. He could understand the worry, the surgery needed to get everything in him was long, almost 12 hours. But it did have no recovery period, meaning that as soon as he was awake and had a check-up he would be free to walk away. "Its kind of extreme..."
"I know Aunt Cass, but its what I know is right, maybe not perfect but its what I want."
"Alright then... just I worry..."
"I understand, really I do."
They both laughed, and sat there waiting until it was time. He told Cass to get some sleep, it was going to be fine.
…..
Mira was a scary woman, a very scary woman with no really ethics, who owed him a favour. She was more than willing to exchanged that for doing the surgeries he wanted. She had once been the best human augmentation expert on Campus, and had needed his help for programming a chip for her work. In exchange for not asking too many questions she owed him a favour.
I had not expected a four foot tall woman to ever be scary, but she is, holy shit.
Told you.
Yeah but I did not think you were serious...
I was very much was about her, she is not a nice woman, at all, but she is the best...
Best you could afford you mean?
True enough.
….
He woke up groggy and tired, his head hurt and his back was uncomfortable. Opening his eye he noticed that he was back in the hospital room, looking at his shoulders he saw it, a perfect circular port installed inside his shoulder. His right arm had another port, on where his elbow used to be, his legs had received the same treatment.
"I see you are satisfied with my vork?
"More than that Mira, its perfect, no pain and I see no scars."
"I am not called the vest for nothing."
"Would you help me install the prosthetics?"
"It is vhy I am here, I need to make sure the neurovransmitter vorks properly."
The first thing they installed was his right arm, it clicked into place with a little wiggle, and he felt it, trying to link with his mind, then it clicked, and for the first time in a long time he moved his fingers, clenching them into a fist. It felt better than he had imagined something that simple ever could.
Then they installed his left arm, the movement of the elbow was a bit rough but it functioned perfectly further, his legs were easier, having gotten used to the feeling he did not twitch as much.
Time to walk then?
Let's do this.
He put his new feet on the floor, they made a soft clank as they hit the ground, he pushed off the bed that had been his seat for a week and forced his new spine straight. Before he knew it he was standing, then he took a step, then another, then another. It felt so good to move again, to be able to grab things again.
"Thank you Mira."
"Ve are even Tadashi, you are vree to leave."
….
Walking was so nice, he did not know how he could have ever thought otherwise, the quite chilly nights air, the lights of the city. They decided to walk back home, no reason to take the bus when walking felt so good. As they walked he practiced with his arms and hands, working them, trying to see how it all felt, well it didn't quite feel as such, there was a little feedback when he grabbed something but he had no sense of touch or heat, but being able to wiggle his fingers felt incredible.
Believe me I felt the same when I got my prosthetic legs, walking had never seemed fun before, but it did when I got them.
It's incredible, I feel much better, and we are almost home, Cass should be asleep, and Hiro should be too, though I don't think he will be.
He does seem like a night person.
Runs in the family.
….
The garage door opened with a whine, and he was presented with the strangest sight, his little brother was holding up planks whilst a large carbon fibre armoured form that looked vaguely like Baymax punched them into pieces, the robot paused whilst Hiro held up another plank.
"Hello Tadashi, I will scan you now." Baymax's voice broadcasted out, and Hiro froze in place. "Scan complete, your injuries have scarred heavily, I have detected several highly efficient implants, no infections detected, you are healthy."
"Ta- Tadashi..." Hiro slowly turned around and look at him, he could see his little brothers eyes well up, he could understand, he had not seen him since the accident and it must have been quite a shock. "You're here!?"
He flew at him, hugging tightly. He had no idea how long they stood there, but he was happy to see his little brother, Baymax joined in as well at some point, and while it was definitely nice to see his project again, it was also weird, as if something was different now.
"Glad to see you again little bro. My new prosthetics work exactly as I wanted them too." he said as he pushed a little, separating the two of them a little bit. "Now mind telling me why Baymax is wearing carbon fibre armor?"
"I also know multiple forms of martial arts."
"Uhhh yeah, about that well..."
"Spit it out."
"Wegotattackedbymymicrobotswhenwewentafterwheronewaspointingandwewanttocontinuesearchingforthembutneedtobeabletofight."
"Huh, all of that in one breath. Let me get this straight, you found a microbot."
Nod.
"It was pointing somewhere."
Nod.
"You got attacked by a whole bunch of microbots.
Nod.
"And you want to continue searching for the microbots?"
"Finding the microbots will improve Hiro's emotional state." Baymax's raised finger was slightly amusing.
"Sorry Tadashi, I know its dangerous, but I need to know who has them, I need to know who started the fire to steal them, to know who got you hurt!"
The garage was silent for a while, whilst Tadashi walked out of it, Hiro stood there silent before a bike revved and he was looking at Tadashi holding out his hand to him from it.
"Gonna be a tight fit, but lets go."
Told you.
Is this the big threat you were talking about.
No, its just the prelude, still a threat but not the big one.
Fuck. Does the city really need us.
Believe me, it does, more than anything.
…
The docks were silent as they followed the microbots directions, an eery silence hung over them, the bot drew them to the edge.
"There's something out there." Hiro said, almost below his breath.
Hide. Now!
He pulled Hiro and Baymax behind one of the shipping containers, the two of them peaked around the corner. Before their eyes a kraken of microbots lifted itself out form the bay, dripping with water it carried something to a shipping container, then he heard it, a car was approaching, at exactly the speed limit.
"Hiro? Tadashi! Hey guys! Why are you at the docks?" Honey Lemon's voice echoed out over the docks, causing both Hiro and Tadashi's eyes to widen.
Gogo spoke next an eyebrow raised, "Why is Baymax wearing Carbonfibre underpants?"
"I also know Karate."
"Why are you guys here!?" Hiro half shouted, "You have to go!"
"Don't push us away Hiro, we are your friends too." Honey Lemon engulfed the boy in a hug, "We want to help you."
"Uh, we still need to go! Like right now!" he pointed at something, it was on his left side so Tadashi did not see it in time, but when he turned towards it he saw the shipping container flying towards him, Wasabi screamed as it nearly landed on top of him, luckily Baymax stopped it.
"Run!" He shouted as he climbed in the back of Wasabi's car, quickly joined by the others, they sped away at exactly the speed limit. He looked back, Baymax was out of sight. "Where is Baymax!?"
At that moment the large robot flew through the air and landed atop the car, sinking into the roof.
"I am here."
"Tadashi! Explanation now!?" Gogo yelled as the microbots and the man raced after them through the streets. "Also, implants look good!"
"He stole Hiro's microbots and started the fire, also thanks! Wasabi, let Gogo take the wheel! I need a few seconds here!"
He ignored Hiro's shouting and Wasabi protesting as Gogo shoved him aside, taking control of the car and starting to go noticeably faster. He finicked with a few sliders on his right arm, until he hit the right one, his fingers folded backwards and his palm glowed a dull blue, he leaned out the window and fired. A bolt of crackling blue shot from his palm, connecting with a tentacle of mircobots reaching towards them, a large amount of them, maybe a metre across was electrified and fell stunned to the floor.
"Why do you have an EMP gun in your arm?" Hiro asked, he sent him a look. "What it's a valid question!"
"Not right now, we need to get out of here." Gogo shouted, her voice edged in threat. "Though I also want to know."
"I installed it on a lark alright, was bored while designing the prosthetics."
The car was thrown into a swerve to avoid a thrown car. Gogo managed to avoid it with little difficulty, he knew she took her driving serious, and had often competed in obstacle courses, but he did not know she was this good.
Fuck, that guy is a lot scarier in real life! Fuck! Fire again!
His arm spat another blue ball of power that disabled another bunch of microbots trying to grab the car. It was staring to heat up his prosthetics a little and his aim was a bit off without depth perception, but it could go on for a little while. They started going uphill, nearing the train tracks, he fired another blast towards a bunch of bots holding up another car, causing them to drop the car to the floor.
He heard the other scream as Gogo floored it, he looked towards his side to see a train fast approaching, his eyes widened as she threw the car into a slide past the train. He leant back into the car as the other all looked around.
"Did we lose him?" Wasabi asked, his voice panicked and loud. "Did we?"
"I think we lost him." Honey Lemon answered, right as the car was engulfed on all sides by microbots, he shoved his arm out of the window one more time to fire off another shot of EMP, bursting the end of the tunnel of microbots, only to end up straight in the water afterwards.
…
Wake up! Dude wake up!
He shook his head as he breathed deep, the others were all strewn across the shore but Hiro and Baymax stood over him. He stood up slowly, a bit wonky, the impact must have damaged one of the gyroscopes in his left foot, causing the others to have to over compensate. He wordlessly helped the others as well, they were all slightly injured by the look of it, though Baymax was already providing basic first aid to Gogo's heavily bruised arm.
"Your body temperatures are low, and you all requite further medical attention." Baymax said, relieved of his armor. Something still felt weird about watching his creation like this, just slightly off. Somewhere deep within him he knew that, he would not be able to focus on the Baymax project anymore, he knew himself well enough to understand that he had to focus on himself now.
At least there is someone who can continue working on him.
That's true, Hiro is just as good as I am, maybe even better, he will make it work. He just needs a helping hand.
"We should get out of here, warm up and talk this over." He said, getting acknowledgement from the others, he probably had the least injuries out of all of them, the basic endoskeleton design and his prosthetics protecting his vulnerable chest from further damage. Fred piped up next, with a serious, well as serious as he got, expression.
"I know a place."
He is talking about his house isn't he?
Yep. At least the others will get to meet Heathcliff, plus its close, and I do not feel like explaining all of this to Aunt Cass.
Fair point.
….
Shivering they walked the streets of San Fransokyo until he could see Fred's place at the end of the street. He and Fred walked towards the front door without hesitation, yet the others remained standing there surprised.
"Uh Fred, Tadashi, where are you going?" He allowed himself a little smile at Hiro's words, he sounded so confused there, he could understand, he had been shocked at Fred's rich kid status himself as well.
"Oh. Yeah. Welcome to mi casa!" Fred made a grand pose, gesturing wildly with his arms, "That's French for 'Front door'."
"Its really not..." Honey piped up as the confused looks intensified, Gogo was getting ready for a few less then polite comments he could tell, she seemed more annoyed with the comic nerd then normal.
"Listen, Nitwit. A lunatic in a mask just tried to kill us. I'm not in the mood for any-" as she started to get into it the door behind him opened up, presenting a well-dressed bald man with a straight as an arrow posture.
"Welcome home, Master Frederick, greetings again Mister Hamada."
"Heathcliff, my man!" Fred said excitedly as the others began to approach the door as well, "Come on in, guys. We'll be safe her. Gimme some!"
Fred fist bumped Heathcliff, the man held his hand out for the rest as well, he decided to take the man up on the offer and gave him a fist bump as well the others entering behind him. The walk to Freds room was filled with a lot of muttering, and confusion, which of course increased by the time they actually entered Fred's room.
"You've gotta be kidding me!" Gogo's confused words made him smile as well, Hiro immediately went for a piece of paper and a pen whilst he sat down on the couch.
"You all right Tadashi?" Honey Lemon asked, as she looked over his body. "Those implants look a lot less intensive now that they have been installed, less electric, you look healthy."
"I'm fine Honey Lemon, a bit tired but that's about it. And the implants work great, though it takes some getting used to, most of the muscle memory is still there."
"Cool, means you should be up for another competition soon, I still want that rematch." Gogo butted in, taking a seat beside him, still soaked and slightly shivering. "Glad to have you back tough."
"It is nice yeah, but can we talk about the elephant in the room please, you know the creepy mask guy that tried to kill us!" Wasabi said as he pulled off his jacket, he turned his eyes to Hiro as Baymax activated his heating unit. They all quickly pilled on to the comfortably warm machine, enjoying the heat.
"Ah good robot." Gogo said with a yawn, he could see she was as tired as he felt, they all were by the look of their sagging forms. They sat there for a little while in comfort, drying and raising their body temperature, before Hiro showed them a picture of a bird of some kind, that he had just drawn.
"Does this symbol mean anything to you guys." Whilst Fred answered with the obvious "It's a bird!" he could feel the spirits nerves about it.
I cannot tell you, you understand that right.
I do, but you understand my annoyance about that right.
I do.
"The guy in the mask was carrying something with the symbol on it." Hiro said, getting out from under Baymax, as the robot spoke as well.
"Apprehending the man in the mask will improve Hiro's emotional state."
"Apprehend him!?" Gogo half shouted, "We don't even know who he is! And he tried to kill us!"
"I have a theory." Fred said as he pushed them all towards the couch, having them sit whilst he began to rummage in one of the many drawers he knew was filled with comics, he then handed all of them a comic. He was seated at the edge, Gogo to his right with Hiro between her and Wasabi, Honey Lemon taking up the other edge.
"Dr. Slaughter, MD?" Wasabi asked, frowning, jumping slightly when Fred popped up from behind the couch.
"Actually, millionaire weapons designer, Malcom Chazzletick!"
"The Annihilator?" Hiro was next as he began to read through the comic handed to him.
"Behind the mask, industrialist Reid Axworthy!"
"Baron von Destruct?" Gogo said slowly, he could see she was getting annoyed, so decided to intervene before she inflicted bodily harm on Fred.
"What are you getting at Fred." Already having his suspicions on what he was thinking.
"Don't you guys get it!?" Fred said almost dancing to his tv, gesturing wildly in excitement, "the man who attacked us is none other than..."
He turned on the tv to precent a sharply dress blond man, in a blue hard hat on live.
"Viola! Alistair Krei!"
A collective what echoed from the group, he was not sure if Fred was serious but decided to consider it. Could Krei be the man behind the mask? He had been remarkably interested in Hiro's invention, and had almost stolen one. Then again he wasn't the smartest man, a good business man, but not smart.
"Think about it! Krei wanted the microbots, but Hiro said no! But rules don't apply to a man like Krei!"
"There's no way. The guy is too high profile." Hiro said, sounding sure, he decided to butt in as well.
"He also isn't the brightest crayon in the box, I don't think he has the technical knowhow."
"Then who was that guy in the mask?" Honey asked, sounding a bit unsure, Hiro answered stammering slightly.
"I- I don't know, we don't know anything about him." He smiled at Hiro as he stood up and walked to his side, slinging an arm around his little brothers shoulders.
"Yes we do, Baymax, show scan results." The robot quickly began to rattle off all he had recorded from the man, showing that his auto scan idea was a success.
"You scanned him?"
"I am programmed to scan all potential patients." Hiro placed his hands on Baymax's balloon chest shaking it laughing.
"I can use the data from the scan to find him!" Hiro's excitement was infectious as he himself dawned small smile. Gogo, ever the realist, piped up next, already seeing the flaws in Hiro's plan.
"Uh, you'd have to scan everyone in San Fransokyo, which would take forever."
"No, no, no, no! I..."
He placed a hand on his little brothers shoulder, smiling at him.
"How about you look for another angle." Hiro paced for a few moments, gazing into the distance muttering to himself.
"Got it! I'll scan the whole city at the same time! I just have to upgrade Baymax's sensor! I mean if you are alright with that Tadashi?"
"Hiro, consider Baymax your project from now on, I think I need to focus on other things first."
"Really? You alright?"
"I am, I need to help myself before I can help others. But is upgrading Baymax enough to stop that guy?" he asked dreading the answer, but following the spirits guidance, the more he encouraged Hiro right now, the better.
"Your right, its not, but..."
He turned around to find the others gazing at them with a slight bit of worry, or in Fred's case excitement.
"Actually, if we are going to catch this guy, we need to upgrade all of us."
"Upgrade who now?" Wasabi stated looking weirded out, Baymax coming up behind them spoke.
"Those who suffer from emotional issues require the support of friends and loved ones."
Freds arms began to pump with excitement, whilst Honey Lemon and Wasabi still looked confused, Gogo seemed willing to go with the flow, leaning forwards.
"Oh, okay, I like where this is heading!"
"We can't go against that guy! We're nerds!"
"Hiro, we want to help, but we're just us."
Hiro just smiled, and looked behind them, on the wall was a massive portrait of several costumed Heroes, standing side by side, he knew the piece, Fred had it commissioned himself.
"You can be way more, if you are up for it." He said, looking each of his friends in the eyes once, "Who is in?"
Gogo was the first to stand up beside them, sending him a smile as she spoke.
"The both of you have been through a lot, we couldn't help with most of that, but you are our best friends." She nodded at the two of them, putting on a serious expression. "We're in."
"Can you feel it!?" You guys, do you feel this!?" Fred's excitement was immeasurable, eyes wide and hands gesturing. "Our origin story begins!"
"We're gonna be SUPERHEROES!"
…
The next morning they all met up at the garage, getting ready to upgrade themselves, they were all still a bit tired when Hiro shoved them all in front of a green screen and pulled out a scanning device. He knew what his brother was planning, based on what the spirit could tell him, but was curious what it was going to be exactly.
"Arms up, I have to get your measurements!" after they all did Hiro used his scanner to take a scan of all of them, "Now, guys! Lets set up some teams here, we can work faster like that."
"On what exactly, I know the answer but I want to hear it again!" Fred said, wearing a lopsided smile.
"We are going to build you suits." He said, patting Fred on the shoulder. "How about I work with Gogo and Wasabi on our prototypes, while you do the same with Fred and Honey Lemon, the we can improve on our designs together after that?"
Affirmations came from all around, he Gogo and Wasabi went off to a corner, and began to brain storm.
….
"Test one of prototype maglev disk skate and weapon system." He said with a smile as Gogo wearing a black under suit made to reduce air resistance and a helmet, clipped the first two disks onto her boots. Getting up she nearly stumbled, he grabbed her shoulder, possibly risking injury by the woman, to help her stand up straight. He knew she was sending him a look through the helmet but he just smiled, she started to move, the hover disks were a bit hard to control apparently, as he had seen Gogo master new types of roller-skates in seconds, yet controlling these was a bit hard.
"Ouahh!" the muffled crash that followed as she ran into the padded wall was slightly amusing, yet he did not laugh for the benefit of his health, just ran up too her and offered her a hand. She looked at him with anger as she pulled her helmet off, he just sent a smile back, this was the reason it was just the two of them testing, he knew she was far more confident with just the two of them around.
"Fine." She grabbed his hand, pulling herself up a bit unsteadily before racing of again, this time she appeared far more secure in her movements, gaining speed and turning on the spot to make loops around the alley. He cheered as she threw one of the smaller disks at the prepared target, a board painted with the mask, her aim was perfect, hitting the board head on the disk smashed straight through the board. She quickly came to a stop besides him, removing her helmet again, with a smile this time.
"How do you like it?" he asked her, as she did another spin on the disks, retrieving a thrown disk, in the middle of it.
"I love it, though how about we use a magnet to retrieve the disks?"
"Good point."
Told you she would ask that.
You have seen the future, its cheating when you say it.
….
"Test number six of the plasma blade project¸ is a go!" He said as Wasabi put on the other gauntlet, the man was a bit sceptical about it all but seemed optimistic. Wasabi flexed his fingers, causing the blades to spring up from the gauntlets, he threw an apple at him, Wasabi bringing up his arms to defend himself cut the apple into quarters.
"Oh, we can throw stuff again!?" Fred's shout of excitement was quickly followed by him throwing pieces of garbage at Wasabi, to the man's protests. The speed of the projectiles increased as Gogo joined in as well, she threw an empty can at him, sending him a look. He began to throw as well, Wasabi was keeping up rather well, tough he was starting to get grossed out a little
"Stop! Guys, there is dirt on my clothes! Hey stop!"
Throw the bean can next!
Alright.
Strike!
…..
"Test seventeen on chempurse project, get in cover everyone!" The purse had already exploded twice before and they were taking precautions this time, Hiro and Honey Lemons idea was a good one, tough very ambitious. "Alright, Honey Lemon, push the buttons."
The tall girl gently thumbed a series of buttons on the purse, it hummed at chucnked for a second and he braced himself as Honey raced into cover, with a thunk the purse spat out a bright yellow globe. When it didn't explode within seconds they left their safe space to slowly approach the purse, Honey slowly picked up the globe and squeezed it just slightly, he flinched away in reflex, placing himself partially in front of Hiro as she did so.
"Throw it already, Woman up!" Gogo shouted, he looked to her, seeing her still covered in pink powder from the previous test, yet undaunted. Honey gave it a soft throw, hitting the alley wall, causing it to be engulfed in a sticky yellow goop.
"Success!"
The purse beeped, causing all of them to look at it in panic,
Note that you should nor cheer to soon.
Fuck you!
"Run!"
The garage was once again filled with a cloud of gas and globs of coloured sticky stuff that he did not want to contemplate the chemical composition off.
….
"Cant believe I am about to say this... Fredzilla test one, superjump systems, go."
"Yeaaaaaaaah." Fred launched as soon as Hiro completed his count, slamming face first into the alley wall. "Oooooouch!"
He sent a look to Gogo, seeing her smile he pulled out his wallet, handing her a five dollar bill.
"Told you."
"Should have listened to you."
Again, told you.
Shut up.
…..
"Alright, time to test these." It was late at night by the time he finished his own prototypes, new arm and leg prosthetics equipped with various upgrades from the others and a heavy backpack with a few gadgets as well. Only he, Hiro and Gogo remained, Hiro having fallen asleep half an hour earlier, Baymax escorting him to bed. The rest had left to get some sleep, tomorrow they would get their finished upgrades, and scan for the man in the mask. "Can you help me get the arms on, hard to do it with only one hand. I know it's a lot to as-"
"Oh shut up, I'll help." Gogo smiled, though he could tell she was a bit creeped out when he removed his left arm and disconnected the wires, yet said nothing and helped him attach his new one. The other limbs were easier than the first, and Gogo seemed more and more determined to help with each one. "Dashi?"
"Yeah?"
"How are you doing?"
He leant against the wall, eyes staring into the distance.
"I... I don't know, not really... I am feeling more and more like my old self, but its not the same." He shook his head, feeling her eyes on him. "I guess I just don't know what to do anymore, I don't think I can work on Baymax the same way I used to, its why I handed the project over to Hiro. It's as if some part of me changed since the fire."
"Like you need a change? A new thing to make your own?"
"Kind of, I need to shift focus to something different something I can make truly my own, something that... Something that..."
"Something you are good at?" She said, leaning against the wall right beside him, he sent her a nod, she was right, he needed something he was good at, something that he could use to help people as a new focus. "How about those prosthetics and implants? You seem to be pretty good at making those."
"I- I don't know, they have been a necessity up till now, tough I did have a lot of fun designing them..." he said, thinking it over, designing the implants and his arms and legs had been more fun than he had had in a long time.
"You could help a lot of people developing that tech further, amputees are still a thing you know. And these prosthetics you build are already a step up from the basic ones available to them." She grabbed his shoulder, having to reach up a fair amount to do so, looking him in the eyes. "Sounds like a great focus to me."
"Your right, I think I could do a lot with these..." He picked the girl up in a hug, getting muffled protests mixed with laughter. "Thanks Gogo, I mean it."
"No problem Dashi, now try out those new toys of yours." She pushed him out into the alley, he smiled and started the recorder.
"Alright, upgraded Cyborg systems test one, starting now with the EMP blasters." Flexing his artificial fingers he activated them, his palms beginning to glow blue as he aimed them at a nearby air-conditioning unit and fired. From his palms came a bolt of blue energy, larger in size then the ones fired before, the airco buzzed and went silent as the bolts hit it.
"Fully functional." He smiled, it was the one system he had not doubts would work, having already integrated it in his previous arm. "Now testing enhanced strength."
Taking a combat pose, he reared back a fist and sent an endo skeleton enhanced punch towards a dumpster. His arm was buried halfway to the elbow in the metal of the dumpster before he even realized, he sent a look to Gogo as he pried his arm out of the metal.
"127 horsepower, damn, that will crack concrete like a sledgehammer." Gogo said reading the readouts form the laptop. "Impressive, lift exercise next?"
"Alright, lets try this." He walked over to the nearby bench, grabbing a prepared pole off of it, weighted with 10 kilogram weights on either side, lifting it over his head with ease. Gogo began adding weight every few moments, after 200 kilograms he began to feel it, after 300 it was getting tougher the limit he found out was 365, as he could no longer get the pole of the bench any more.
"Able to lift up to 365 kilograms, noted, time for the last one?" Gogo's question made a smile light up on his face, this was the one thing Hiro and Gogo both had input in. He could tell she was just as excited as he was to test it out. "Engaging thruster test, now."
His feet heated up as the turbines on his back revved as well, slowly he lifted off the ground, keeping steady he floated along the alley floor, it seemed to be functioning properly. He began to increase his altitude slowly, coming to a stop atop the dumpster.
"Seems to be functioning properly, up for a flight?" He asked Gogo as he jumped down, he got a look as she walked behind him.
"What do you think." She climbed on swiftly, riding piggyback keeping away from the thrusters he began to slowly lift off, hovering for a few moments then increasing speed upwards and cresting the nearby buildings, he was slowly flying over when Gogo kicked him softly. "Speed up slowpoke!"
"Alright, you asked for it!"
With that he kicked the thrusters up racing into the sky to screams of joy coming from his back.
…..
"Alright guys, time for some final checks on the suits." Hiro was exited as could be, wearing his purple armoured suit, gesturing to the others, also wearing their finished equipment. Wasabi was wearing a heavily armoured dark green suit with a visor, Fred his blue lizard costume, Honey Lemon a pink suit with her chempurse slung around her shoulder, Gogo was wearing a black suit with yellow armor plates made for aerodynamics. He himself was wearing a white chest plate with an armoured backpack for his thrusters, his new prosthetics chromed and proudly displayed and on his head a helmet of the same colour as his chest piece.
"Gogo, would you do the honours?"
The woman stood up quickly, steady on her disks she began to race around Heathcliff at ever increasing speeds, his Hud told him she was nearing 100kph at her top speed, her throwing disks flew and struck the mask off of Heathcliff's head with relative ease. Fred came next, jumping around the butler and spraying fire everywhere, before simply lifting the mask off of the man.
Honey Lemons attempt went even easier, she threw three chemballs at the man, surrounding him in a jelly like substance that immobilized him. For Wasabi they brought out a tennis ball machine, and set it to full blast, throwing tennis ball after tennis ball at the man as his blades cut through them at a rapid pace, actually cutting the machine itself in half.
"My turn now I suppose." He said getting up, as Heathcliff brought out a bunch of drones, all seemingly ready to fly at him. He activated his thrusters dodging the first group, twisting he fired both his EMP's at them, causing them to crash to the floor with a sizzle. Flying behind Heathcliff he gently lifted the mask from the man, doing a flying somersault he landed back on the ground.
Impressive.
Why thanks, never knew I could be good at this.
….
They were all resting in the massive garden of Fred's house, talking about their new suits with excitement, waiting for Hiro to unveil his upgrades to Baymax, after some half an hours the boy came running out of the house, looking as excited as could be.
"Guys, I would like to introduce you too..." the boy paused as he waited for the machine to turn the corner, "Baymax 2.0!"
The robot who was once huggable and friendly now looked vaguely threatening in his massive red armor, standing over 2.5 meters tall. All in all the armor looked rather cool, he supposed, though it lacked any visible weapon like the rest of them bar Hiro had.
"Show them the thing!" Hiro almost shouted at Baymax, causing the robot to look at him for clarification. "The arm thing!"
Baymax raised his arm, and, with a whirl, wiggled his fingers and said. "Balalala."
He cracked a smile at that, leave it to Hiro to teach Baymax something like that, it gave him confidence that giving Baymax to Hiro was the right thing to do.
"No the other thing, do it!"
A series of flaps on Baymax wrist opened up, lightened with purple fire, propelling the red fist forwards at massive speeds, sending it through a statue and the wall behind it, with a crash.
"Rocket fist make Freddie so happy!"
"Impressive, little bro, but that's not all you build right?"
Hiro smiled at him, climbing onto Baymax back, it widened when he uttered his next words.
"Baymax wings."
A pair of large red wings popped out of the robots back, as it stood in a take-off ready pose.
"Thusters! GO!"
With that Baymax toppled over before shooting off into the sky.
"Are they going to be okay?" Honey Lemon asked as the two narrowly avoided running into Fred's house.
"They should be fine." He answered, as the two shot up to avoid hitting a billboard. "Mostly."
Are you sure about that?
Like I said, mostly.
….
"So you have found him then?"
"Yeah, the scanner worked perfectly, he is on an island nearby." Hiro seemed exited, having just returned from his first flight with Baymax. He and the others had simply taken the time to relax, it almost seemed like before the fire, when they would all just hangout together. Just with supersuits and mor expensive food. "Up for a flight?"
"Uh, flight? Guys, crippling fear of heights here!"
"Baymax, be sure to hold onto Wasabi extra tight alright."
Wasabi protested a fair amount but did eventually climb onto Baymax back, joined by Honey Lemon and Hiro, while Fred held onto the robots arm. Gogo, after a moment of hesitation climbed onto his back, taking the same position as last night he prepared for take-off. He and Baymax both shot off into the sky, he had no idea where exactly they were going so followed behind the robot, doing a few circles around it to Gogo's cheers.
"This is amazing guys! What a view!" Honey Lemons exited cheer gave him some inspiration, flying above Baymax he cheered as well.
"Its pretty fun, il give you that." Gogo said from his back, he could hear the smile in her voice, even as she dug her knee into his side for doing a few to many barrel rolls. "Though I could do without the dizziness!"
They flew towards the island with a bit of chitchat along the way, Wasabi complained a fair amount about the height but stuck trough it rather well in the end. They touched down softly, Gogo jumped from his back, as the others dismounted Baymax.
"Out first landing as a superhero team! Oh that feels good!"
"Uh guys, do any of you know what quatantine means!" Wasabi said as they began to walk towards the entrance of the compound, Baymax raised a finger and began to recite.
"Quarantine, to distance from something that could result in disease-"
"Disease!"
"-or in some cases death."
"Death!"
Gogo punched him on the shoulder, sending a bored look at him as she continued walking along with the rest. "Women up."
As they reached the entrance Baymax began to lift he heavy door, he heard something behind him, the others just as wound up as he was, turned around and began to attack. He himself fired a pair of EMP blasts, smoke clouded the area as they all looked at the thing that scared them. What was it, a man, a massive pile of microbots or some dangerous monster.
"A Pidgeon." He said as the smoke cleared, "A brave Pidgeon mind, but a Pidgeon."
"Guess we were a bit tense..." Wasabi said, turning his blades off.
…
The halls of the compound were silent save for Fred's weird singing, the facility was surprisingly small, so their progress was fairly quick.
"Baymax, can you scan him?"
"The walls of this compound are messing with my scanner. I am unable to locate him."
"Uh, guys, you might want to see this." Honey pushed open a door, releasing a metallic groan. The room they entered was a large one, heavily damaged both by time and whatever had happened here, destroyed machinery littered the room.
"What do you think it is?" Gogo asked, breaking their silent staring, they were all tense, ready to jump at the slightest sign of danger.
"No idea." He answered, "But look up there."
He pointed to a red glow coming from a room above, likely a viewing platform for whatever was done here.
Damn this place is a lot creepier then on the screen.
The door slowly creaked open, showing the room held several chairs and desks, powered down computers and other office items. Entering it they found the source of the red glow, a large screen showing the symbol Hiro had drawn before, a black sparrow on a red background. Walking up Hiro pressed a button, showing several old security feeds.
"Krei..." Hiro said, half under his breath, before rewinding the feeds a long way.
"That's right!" The Krei on the screen said, in that o so pompous and obnoxious voice of his. "We were asked to do the impossible. That's what we did. We've reinvented the very concept of transportation."
God this guy is like a shoddy knock off Steve jobs.
The owner of Pear?
What, wait, priorities, later.
"Friends, I present to you, Project Silent Sparrow." Krei gestured around the room he was standing in, now obviously filled with two large rings. As he finished speaking the rings burst with light, filling as if a liquid was held inside them. "General, may I?"
They observed as Krei, took the Generals hat, threw it into the circle, only for it to appear out of the other one, caught by a man in a lab coat.
"Whoa! Magic hat!" Fred said, shocked as they all gaped at the screen.
"Teleportation." Both he and Krei said at the same time, Krei continued. "The transport of matter instantaneously though space. Not science fiction anymore."
The group on the screen walked away from the portal, coming up towards the control room as krei continued.
"Now, we didn't spend billions of tax dollars to teleport hats. Ladies and Gentlemen, you're here to witness history." Krei pushed a button on the desk in front of him. "Ready to go for a ride Abigail?"
Their focus shifted to a different screen as a young woman wearing an advanced spacesuit climbed into a pod, she seemed familiar somehow, tough he could not place it, she then said. "We've invited all these people, might as well give 'em a show."
The countdown began to play as the pod was shifted across a rail towards the first portal, then one of the scientist in the command room spoke. "Sir we've picked up a slight irregularity with the magnetic containment field."
Krei lent over, looking at the screen as well, the general then spoke.
"Mr. Krei, is there a problem?"
"No. No problem. Its well within the parameters, continue with the test."
The countdown finished as the pod shot through the portal, at rapid velocity going through unharmed.
"Field breach! Abort! We have lost all contact with the pod!" the scientist from before shouted, as the portals began to shake and suck in everything around them. The right portal went up in a fiery explosion soon after that, taking with it a large portion of the room, men and woman in the command centre shouted at each other over the icreasing noises. Until the general yelled for it all to be shut down.
"The government shut down Krei's experiments." Hiro said.
"He must be using your microbots to steal his machine back." Honey continued.
"Krei is the guy in the mask."
He himself was not so sure, Krei was ruthless, not overly smart, not vindictive, why would he want his broken tech back? It would be of no benefit to him to restart the research if it required government funding in the billions, it would bankrupt him to start it up again.
"Oh, no." Baymax's voice shook him out of his thoughts, turning he saw a large piece of concrete flying towards them at alarming speed. It hit before he could react, held back only by Baymax they were safe, though coughing a lot.
"Baymax, get us out of here." Hiro said, the robot responding quickly shooting out a rocket fist to destroy the rubble and break them free. They all got ready for a fight as the man in the mask looked at them. "Go for the transmitter!"
Before Baymax could move he was hit by a tendril of Microbots, pushing him into the wall, Hiro quickly running up to help the robot he and the others moved to engage the man.
"Alright, what's the plan?" Wasabi asked, before he could respond Fred was already moving.
"Its Fred time! Super jump!" the lizard costume was shot towards the man at great speed, then promptly batted aside by a tendril of bots. "Falling hard!"
"For real, what is the plan?!" Wasabi asked again, he himself knew there was no time to think, they had to go for it now, Gogo seemed to agree as they spoke at the same time.
"Get the mask!" she skated towards the man whilst he took off, palms lighting blue with crackling electricity. The man send tendrils after both of them, they were fairly easy to dodge as long as he kept momentum, allowing him to get a few blasts in on the man himself, forcing him to sacrifice a bunch of bots to not get stunned. Yet his distraction payed off, as Gogo hit him in the face with a disk, the man reeled back, but it seemed that the mask was on tight, as he only shook his head before attacking with even greater vigor.
The two of them continued to do combined hit and run attacks, taking the heat off of each other were necessary, hitting the man with as many EMP blasts and disk as they could, until he was forced to the floor by a wave of bots passing over him, right as it was covered in instant ice, Gogo was thrown off balance as well, and only his now heavier form managed to keep the both of them from crashing into Honey Lemon.
"Hey!" came a yell as a green armored man finally appeared, Wasabi having gathered his bravery had finally joined the fight. "Uh, you want to dance, Masked man, Huh! 'Cause you'll be dancing with these."
His blades popped out on both his hands, glowing green and ready to cut anything they touched to ribbons.
"Hand over the mask or you'll get a taste of plasma!"
Wasabi laughed as he swiped the blades around, he took the time to fire a pair of EMP blasts at the masked man, only to nearly fall over on the slippery surface, sending the shots off the side. Wasabi was forced to weather a long series of strikes as the masked man hit him with tendril after tendril of bots, each getting cut.
"Whoo, that all you got?!" Wasabi shouted, before the masked man looked down at his feet, causing Wasabi to do the same. His feet had been surrounded by bots. "Oh. You got that too?"
He was thrown to the side, smashing into the rising Fred, both of them falling to the floor once again, skidding along it to colide into him, Gogo and Honey before his thrusters could get them out of the way. They rose from the floor as fast as they could manage, only to see the masked man ready to crush them with a hammer of bots. Before it hit however, Baymax and Hiro collided with the masked man, dodging a few tendrils Hiro jumped from Baymax and hit the masked man straight on, throwing his mask off.
"Its over Krei."
The masked man rose from the floor, at that point he was sure it wasn't Krei, for he turned to face them. He had a face. One that haunted his dreams ever since the fire. One that he had dreaded seeing on campus. One that he had failed to save. Before them stood a man, a man by the name of Callaghan.
He cramped down, feelings assaulted him from every different sort, loss, pain, anger, rage, confusion and depression. It all came crashing down as he fell to his metal knees, he blanked, no longer listening to the room, no longer watching consciously, dead to the world save for his own thoughts.
Wake up! Wake up you daft fool! WAKE UP FOR YOUR BROTHER AND FRIENDS!
He shook his head the slightest bit, taking in the room in front of him, Hiro had his hand on baymax's access port, holding in his hand a green chip. He knew what was about to happened and started to move, he needed to make sure no one died here today, he needed to make sure that a man faced justice for what he had done to him. A chip was thrown to the floor, his hands raised glowing blue.
"Baymax, Destroy him!"
Blue bolts shot out, crossing the room in milliseconds, they hit. Red sparked as it was overloaded, its fist missing its target. Gogo was on the robot the next moment, grabbing its arm as it prepared another rocket fist, throwing off its aim slightly. His hands felt hot, burning hot as he fired another bolt, forcing another arm to miss, then he spoke as the others tried to restrain the red giant as best they could.
"Baymax, hardware override! H.1.R.0.G.0.G.0.F.R.3.D.H.0.N.W.4.S!"
The machine came to a standstill, opening its chip port, halting its rocket punch just barely a second before it would have killed a fleeing Calla-, a fleeing monster. Honey shoved his chip back in, the robot shuddered briefly as it reactivated.
"My healthcare protocol has been violated." He could have almost sworn the machine sounded hurt, in pain almost. He help a groaning Gogo up from being thrown, she appeared unharmed, tough her pride likely took a blow there. Baymax helped Fred up, but even as the man lost his helmet and was groaning he still took a few steps back. "I regret any distress I may have caused."
"How could you do that! I had him!" He turned his eyes to Hiro, feeling a flinch of pain as he looked at his emotion riddled little brother in disappointment he had never felt before. He could not speak, not right now, not after that.
"What you just did, we never signed up for." Wasabi said, voice firm and restraining both fear and anger, Gogo just looked plain angry, releasing her arm from his shoulder she stepped forward, growling.
"We said we'd catch the guy! That's it!"
"I never should have let you help me! Baymax find Callaghan!" Hiro was just as angry in his retort, he flinched back along with the others, why was Hiro so angry? He asked himself that, why was his brother so angry, he had no right to be angry, if anybody should be angry it was him! He had been wronged here, he had been burnt, he had been mangled, crippled and broken!
Calm down their edgelord.
Why should I!?
Because your brother just left and the others are looking at you, also your arm is kind of glowing.
Blinking he saw his hands raised at the flying form of Baymax, glowing blue. He lowered them slowly, turning his gaze to the others. He found there concern, sadness and worry.
"I said all of that out loud didn't I?"
"Yes, yes you did you fucking idiot." Gogo said, taking her helmet off she approached him, followed by Wasabi, Honey and Fred soon after. She grabbed his helmet and lifted it off, it was only with the cold air hitting his face that he felt the tears sliding down his face, his empty eye socket burning, then she did something he had never seen him do, she hugged him. The hug grew as the others joined in, he could not hold it in any longer, could not just go on any further, he cried. They separated minutes later, he could see all of them had cried a tear there, even Gogo tough she tried to hide it.
"Thank you guys, I needed that, I guess I am not doing as well as I thought I was."
"Nobody expects you to just start from where you are now right away, Dashi, you need to get though all of this before you can start doing well again."
"When did you become good at the whole emotions thing?"
"I am not." Laughter followed that, as they all sat there for a few moments in the darkness, processing what had just happened.
"I know I have been through a lot, most of it haven't really processed yet, but we need to stop him, you all know we do. Not just for Hiro or even me, but for everyone else he hurt or is going to hurt. Are you all with me on this, I understand if you say you are out, no hard feelings."
The others looked at him, before laughing, he looked on confused.
"Tadashi, we are in this together, if you think we are done now your wrong." Honey said, looking determent.
"Yeah, the Heroes always get trashed in their first fight together, I am so not done with this yet!" Fred's exclamation made him smile, leave it to him to not fully grasp the seriousness of the situation. Wasabi laid a hand on his shoulder, which made his a bit nervous when he recalled the plasma blades in his gauntlets. Gogo gave him a punch in the other shoulder before speaking.
"Now how are we going to get out of here?"
"Oh il call Heathcliff, not the weirdest place I ever made him fly the family helicopter…"
"Don't ask." He said quickly as both Honey and Wasabi started to open their mouths. "You really don't want to know."
"Uh guys you might want to see this." Gogo said from the control room above, they all gathered around as she started the video.
"That's the pilot." He said, frowning. "And Callaghan!"
"That's not all."
She zoomed in on a portion of the video, showing the nametag of the pilot.
"She is- no was his daughter." He muttered.
Still a monster.
Yeah not gonna deny that, really bad dude.

When they finally got back to Hiro they found him hugging Baymax, the others stayed at the door of the garage as he went in. He put a hand on his brothers shoulder, the boy turned to him and threw himself into hug around him.
"It's gonna be okay Hiro, I know I am not really myself right now, and that you have a lot on your plate that I can't help you with. But it's going to be alright."
"We are here for you, both of you." Gogo said as the others entered the garage, "We are going to catch him."
"Let's get started then."
…
When they came into sight of the Krei tech building the microbots were already raising the portal into the air, hundreds of thousands if not millions of bots flooded the grounds. The portal linked up, staring to suck everything below it in, they landed on the roof with a thud, Gogo jumping off his back as the others dismounted Baymax.
That is a lot more bots then I remember... guess I can't expect everything to be exactly as I remember.
You do remember us winning yes?
Yes. And now there is 7 of you as well, should be easy enough.
"Callaghan!" He shouted as his helmet opened up, looking at the face of the man who had wronged him so with conviction. "Let him go!"
"Is this what Abigail would have wanted?" Hiro asked as he did the same.
"Abigail is gone!" The monster shouted, his micro bots holding down a struggling Krei, "All because of this man!"
"This won't change anything Callaghan, you know it won't." He said, taking a set forward, then Krei spoke, ruining a potential surrender.
"Listen to them Callaghan, do what they say, il give you anything you want!"
"I want my daughter back!" The monsters mask flipped down, and he sent a wave of bots towards them engaging his thrusters he sailed over them, blue filling his palms as he began to blast at the monster, Hiro's comment barely registering.
"Go for the mask!"
He saw Baymax get grabbed by a tendril of bots, Hiro slung off him and into the building as the robot was thrown to the floor, quickly covered in bots to hold him down. The others jumped in then, recovered from the wave of bots.
Honey threw balls of acid, ice and jelly at the bots, breaking freezing and stopping them, until she was forced to throw a ball in defence of several smaller tendrils. Wasabi, cut a swath through the bots, tearing through them, yet was incapacitated when they compressed him using some roof plates. Fred was shooting fire every which way, to little effect in honesty, yet he was still grabbed by the bots, pulled in different directions by his arms and legs. Gogo tried to do the same thing she had done on the island, skating by at high speeds to hit the monster with her disk, yet there were to many bots, so they simply surrounded her on all sides, slowly beginning to constrict.
Then he was the only one standing, or well flying as the case was, his mobility was the only reason he had not been grabbed yet, the bots were unable to get close enough without getting blasted with an EMP. But he was being contained, bots closing below him, continuing to attack, not allowing him to save any of the others to help further, he was forced to continue blasting.
"Listen up!" he heard through his comms, his little brothers voice almost distracting him. "Use those big brains of yours and think your way around the problem! Look for a new angle!"
Taking a second he looked, he looked up, blasting off the tendrils raced after him getting thinner and thinner as they did, until he stopped and accelerated down, the tendrils attempting to close in on him. His palms glowed blue as he overclocked his EMP blasters, when he connected with the microbots waiting for him below, he released.
A corona of blue enveloped him as all bots in a large radius were fried by a massive electromagnetic pulse, he himself was briefly stunned by it as well, but shook his head to get back into it. Looking up he saw smoke had surrounded Hiro, Baymax and Callaghan, now they were only seen in the brief flashes of Baymax's thrusters.
"Target the microbots, they will get sucked up by the portal!" Hiro's voice broadcasted in his ears, he looked around him to see that the stunned bots were flying upward at a rapid pace, indeed being sucked in.
His arms felt hot, and sizzled with electricity from the overclocking but he knew he had to go on. His palms glowed blue again and he began to target the bottoms of large pillars of bots, reaching into the sky, his thrusters pushing him forward at incredible speeds between them as blue blast flew out form his palms. Along the way he could see Wasabi tearing through bots with his blades, Fred spinning around burning pieces of metal, Gogo throwing around disk and Honey jumping up, she shouted into the comms a second later.
"Tadashi I need an EMP on my chempurse!" his eyes widened as he understood what she was planning, the chemicals in her purse with the EMP of his arms could cause a massive explosion. His palms glowed as he flew towards it, he released a blue burst as he passed it, hearing yet not seeing the massive explosion behind him, Gogo had slung Honey over her shoulder to get her away from the blast, he spotted Wasabi making leaps away and grabbed the man, flying away to safety.
They all looked up as the smoke cleared, revealing Hiro and Baymax just above Callaghan, fist mere inches above the man's head.
"Our programming prevents us from harming humans." He was proud to hear those words, so proud of his little brothers restraint. He was not sure he could have done the same if he were honest with himself. Up above Baymax grabbed the mask from the monsters head, which proved to be a mistake, as the bots fell down so did the portal, he pulled Wasabi out of the way of a falling chunk of rubble.
"Its destabilizing!" Krei yelled as they all began to run away from it, "We have to leave!"
"I detect a human life signature inside the portal." Baymax's voice echoed over the comms as he and the others ran further away, he knew what was going to happen next Hiro jumped on Baymax back before he could do anything and he was left waiting, unable to do anything as his brother risked his life.
"Dashi, he is going to be fine." Gogo grabbed his arm before he could kick in his thrusters and go after him. "Baymax will bring him back, you can't risk yourself as well."
"Fuck!" He said, his thrusters cooling as he stood, staring at the glowing portal. "Please be alright."
"Tadashi..." he heard the voice come from his right, his head snapping to the man, the monster that had made him what he was. He stopped himself from moving, holding himself from every possible thing he wanted to do to the man. "Its you under there... I want to say I a-"
Bomp
The man was cut off by the metal hand that had struck it across the face, he fell to the floor on his back crawling away the punch had been as strong as he dared make it if he wanted the man alive. Callaghan was trying to crawl away now, but before he could however he was stunned by a blue blast which sent him spasming.
"Tadashi!" Honey screamed as she looked at him, "Why would you do that!?"
"Yeah dude, bit far." Fred said, poking the now unconscious man with his foot.
"I do not agree with the punching!" Wasabi said, looking a bit worried. When Gogo didn't pipe up as well they all looked at her.
"Oh no, not the dickhead." She said, sounding as bored as she normally did, crossing her arms. "What do you want me to say?"
"I know it's not the right thing to do, but I could stand to listen to him speak anymore." He said, hoping to ease their worries. "He did a lot of bad things, most of which to me, and he needs to be punished for it."
"Just not by any of us." Wasabi said, the man made a fair point, it was not up to them to dispense justice.
"Fair enough."
They spent the next minute in tense silence as the portal began to make more and more noise, destabilizing further and further towards its explosive end. When it seemed it was nearing its end a pod came flying through, his legs gave out and he let the overloaded neurotransmitter rest as he fell unconscious.

The end of the movie timeline here, which finishes the prologue of the as of writing the unnamed series. Next up is season 1 of the show, think that I am going to take it on a episode by episode basis, changing and adding as necessary to make the story flow naturally, gonna be at least 40 chapters of varying lengths for the first season. Seeing how changes to the first season alter the second I might split it in half, doing 40 chapters for the Sycorax finale and 40 for the robot revolution finale.
After that if I have motivation I might dive into an alternative season 3, the one being broadcasted currently feels like it doesn't fit with the previous seasons. To me it almost feels like its short episodes would fit better between episodes of season 2 then as their own thing.
TLDR: gonna start season 1 now, more chapters in separate story, this prologue over, thank for reading.
