Just an errant thought while watching the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh... A sort of what if...

It was a simple charity event and a teen had asked if they could Duel against Pegasus as their reward for helping sell the most candy bars for their school. 'A simple enough request.' Pegasus thought as he drew his first hand.

He had heard that this particular Duelist was pretty good among her peers. Her brown eyes were shielded behind the glasses she wore as she drew her first five cards. Her long black hair fell over her shoulder before she tossed it back.

"Mr. Pegasus, can we stop for a moment? I need to get my hair out of my face."

"Of course." He replied, setting his hand facedown.

She quickly wound her hair into a bun and pulled two metal sticks from her back pocket. These were pushed into the bun. "Ready!" She called excitedly.

A few turns later, Pegasus was curious as to what was going through the girl's mind. His Millennium Eye flashed as she drew her next card.

'Oh! Pretty picture!'

Pegasus sighed softly as she played it and another card facedown.

'The birds sound happy today! Oh, pretty butterfly!'

Pegasus attacked only to discover that her defense card was Mystical Elf. He ended his turn with a facedown card.

'I want to have spaghetti and shrimp for lunch... No... Cheddar cheese ramen... No... I know! Grilled cheese!'

'How is it that she's not losing focus on the Duel but yet she can't focus on a single card long enough for me to see it?' Pegasus thought as she summoned a Solar Flare Dragon.

The girl played Card Destruction and then flipped over a Monster Reborn. "I activate Monster Reborn to bring a second Solar Flare Dragon to the field. Since I have two on my field, neither one can be attacked and you lose 500 per dragon per turn." She announced excitedly.

'Lucky and Sparky are so cool! I'm hungry... Do I have a candy bar?'

Pegasus had to admit that her thought process was beginning to get on his nerves but it was an interesting strategy and workout for the power granted to him by the Eye.

The Duel ended as the announcement that the center was closing came over the intercom. Pegasus gathered his cards and walked over to congratulate the girl. "That was a good game, young lady." He said, handing her the award certificate and posing for a picture with her.

"My name's Merowna Celeste Wheeler." She said with a smile. "Thank you for the Duel, Mr. Pegasus."

"Oi! You didn't lose focus on the Duel this time, Mero?" A boy teased. "I swear you're too easily distracted by everything!"
