Welcome back viewers of the multiverse, to The Hero of the Alley! Last we left off, Harley started his job at Parker Industries, and began a romantic relationship with Felicia Hardy, The Black Cat. She hinted at pain in Harley's past, but what does she mean? All will come in time my friends. Let us continue!
Location: Harley's apartment, Manhattan, New York
Time: 0826 (8:26 AM)
Date: 12/23/2020
New York is a city known for its bustling streets, cramped subway stations and tight sidewalks. But in the bedroom shared by the new Venom and the mischievous Black Cat, all is calm relaxed, the coolness of the winter air slips into the apartment from the cracked open window.
Black Cat is the first to stir, groggily opening her eyes to see Harley sleeping peacefully, arm wrapped around her, with Felicia facing towards his chest.
'I could get used to waking up like this. With him next to me, giving me that feeling of being wanted, this cat'll be happy for several lifetimes.' Felicia thinks, snuggling closer to Harley who slowly opens his eyes, a smile of his own growing.
"Good morning kitty cat, sleep well?" She chuckles at the nickname, nodding. "Best sleep I've had in years."
"I bet you tell all the Spider-Men that." He teases, causing her to lightly punch his chest.
Felicia starts to sit up against the oak headboard of the bed, breathing in the cold winter air. "Do you have work today?" Harley nods, sighing. "Yeah, I'm helping Peter with inventory and he's gonna start teaching me mechanical engineering."
"Peter teaching again? Wow, been a while since he last tutored."
"I've got to get going. I'll see you later." He kisses her on the lips softly and gets ready for the day.
2 hours later at Parker Industry
"Peter, I swear, I'm gonna kill you!" Harley screams as he swings around a room with large Spider-Drones firing lasers at him. "Come on Harley, they're set to stun, it's not that bad." Pete says over the speaker. "You tell me that when you're the one being fired at by drones you built!"
Peter keeps laughing. "Honestly I'm surprised, you built these drones pretty quickly, all I did was give you the parts and you assembled everything perfectly, even making the armor tougher with the reflective plating I designed for my suit." The CEO presses a few buttons, sending the drones back to the robotics lab, Harley landing on the main floor of the testing room, panting.
"Even with my powers, this is exhausting."
"Do you and V train outside of patrols?" Peter asks, clicking a few buttons on his datapad before returning his attention to Harley.
"Not really. I didn't think I had too."
"Harley, one of the toughest parts of this job is trying to physically keep up with the villains in the city. Your strength and endurance will be one of the key factors in your battles. Always train. Understand me?" Peter says sternly, drawing on past experiences.
Harley nods his head. "Understood. You need anything else? I was going to go on patrol for an hour or 2 before getting some food."
"You're all good for today Harley. Have a good night buddy." Peter waves Harley off, with Venom putting his lab coat up and swinging out of the window to go on patrol.
1 hour later
"I can understand how Peter never gets bored of this, swinging through the skies is amazing!" Venom flips in the sky, divebombing about 50 feet up and swinging again, letting his momentum carry him through. After a few more swings, he lands on a nearby building, perching and taking a break. "I think that's it for tonight, I've got to go home and coo…"
Harley gets cut off by the sound of a woman screeching, followed by the crashing of a car. "Who can that be?" He follows the origin of the sound to see a man in a giant grey rhino suit, rampaging in a convenience store.
"Hey Rhino!"
The bulky man looks up at the new Spider and grimaces. "New suit there, Spider-Man?"
"Still better than your grey unitard Alexei!" recalling the bruiser's name from Peter's files on his nemesi.
"Raaaaargh!" Rhino kicks up dirt and starts to charge towards Harley, ramming into the building, shaking the foundation and knocking Harley off of it. "Woah there big guy! Watch out, you could have hurt me there." He quips, flipping over Rhino and landing a few solid punches on his back.
Rhino flinches, making a wide slam with his arm with Venom ducking underneath it. "Too slow Rhino? Maybe lay off the bison burgers, hear too much protein can be bad for you." Harley webs down Alexei's arms, jumping onto his chest pummeling his face in.
"V, got any ideas on how to bring down this guy?"
'Blunt force trauma is the only thing that brought him down in the past. Let's do it again.'
"Harley grins, grabbing a chunk of the broken building with his webbing, slings it up over his head, and slams it down onto the webbed Rhino, knocking him out.
'Well then, that's one way to do it.' V says, chuckling.
"Come on V, take us home." Venom takes control of the suit and swings the two of them home, just in time for police vehicles to arrive on scene.
20 Minutes Later
"Honey I'm home!" Harley yells inside the apartment to be met with a hug from behind. "Hey there spider. How was work?"
"Tiring, but I'm here and extremely hungry."
"I've got something you can eat~." She teases, whispering in his ear. "Down kitty cat, I thank you for the offer, but another night when I'm less tired. How about some delicious steak?"
Felicia pouts and pats his back. "Sounds amazing babe."
Harley gets to work on dinner for the two of them, the sky turning pitch black with the night.
"Got any plans for tomorrow? Maybe sharpen your claws, anything?" Harley asks, scarfing down some ribeye and sweet potatoes in one mouthful. "Hmm, I was planning on hitting up The Baxter Building to see if Johnny would give me some info on a case I was following."
"Who on?"
"Morbius, the Living Vampire."
