So this is getting continued. :)

I Did Say The Word Doomed

Soren is too tired for this. Climbing a mountain, it turns out, is really hard. But it's harder for Claudia, who never worked out like he did.

"One more step," Soren tells his baby sister. "One more step."

"I-I can't," Claudia pants. "I can't."

"You can," Soren encourages. "I believe in you. One more step, Clauds."

"I," Claudia pants again, "I can't bre-breathe."

Soren is having trouble too, but he doesn't want to tell Claudia that. "It's okay, Clauds. We can take a break."

Claudia rolls onto her back. Soren simply flops on his stomach. The mountain swims in his vision. He's pretty sure that's not good.

Soren knows he's hallucinating when a big red dragon, one missing a horn, speaks to him in Ezran's voice. It says, "Soren?"

"Message," Soren manages. "Important."

He won't remember the dragon grabbing him in one claw and Claudia in the other, or the flight to the top of the spire.

What he will remember is a strong gust of wind nearly sweeping him off his feet, and suddenly he can breathe again. The spots fade from his vision quickly, and he sees–

Callum? And Ezran? And their elf friend? And… is that elf purple?

"Is this the afterlife?"

"...no," says Callum. "It's still just… the life. You're alive."

"What is she doing here?" the elf girl demands, glaring at Claudia. "For that matter, what are you doing here?"

"I need to tell you something," Soren says. Quickly, he tells them about the sun elf city, and what his father came back with. What he's turned the armies into.

"I couldn't leave Claudia there," he glances at his limp sister, "and let him turn her into something worse."

"You did the right thing," the purple elf assures him.

"I hope she sees it that way."

"As a younger sibling myself, I am sure she will."

Soren offers the elf a smile, then goes to help Claudia up. Normal Claudia would have bounced back even before he did. This Claudia only sighs, looking down even once she's on her feet.

"Hey, Clauds, think the elves would like to try your weird morning drink?" Soren asks, hoping she'll say, 'It's hot brown morning potion, Soren,' rolling her eyes like she always does when he gets something wrong.

"Mmmh," Claudia– agrees? Soren isn't sure.

"…what now?" says the purple elf. Soren grins, surely Claudia will tell him all about her marvelous invention now! But Claudia doesn't seem to notice.

"Oh fer the love of…" The Moonshadow elf steps up and, before Soren can stop her, smacks Claudia on the face. Hard. Really hard. "Been wantin' to do that for awhile."

"Oww!" Claudia's head jerks up, pulling the rest of her with it and away from Soren. "What was that for?"

"Let's see," the elf counters. "Tryin' to kill Zym? Tryin' to kill Pyrrah? Hurtin' my friends multiple times? Moping about when your brother just saved your life? Oh, and bein' a Dark mage." She sticks her thumb in Callum's direction. "Don't worry, he got an earful for that, too."

Callum? When did Callum… oh, right.

"Yeah, well, not all of us can be born connected to an arcanum!" Claudia snaps, holding her hand to her cheek.

"But we can forge a connection!" Callum says excitedly.

"Wait, what?"

"Yeah! I'm connected to the Sky arcanum now! Hmm, I wonder which one you'd connect to?"

"Enough," Ezran says. "We're going to be attacked soon, and we need a plan."

When did Ez turn into the most mature one?

If anyone is interested, I'm going to have at least one Tumblr by Saturday. I am telling you this so that I will actually stick to it. Feel free to type-yell at me about it if you think I'm not going fast enough (will definitely help. promise). If you can't find me on Tumblr by Saturday, PLEASE yell at me until you can.

Personal: theoneandonlymagiscientist.

TDP ask blog/s: Aaravos Answers. Possibly also some combination of Rayla-Wins-Again (or Rayla Knows All), Ask Zubeia Anything, and maybe even something for Marcos (because he's minor but important). Any thoughts?

More chapters will be coming as long as people still want them, or until we reach the end of s3, so let me know what you think!
