Chapter One

Ever since Gabriel's wife had killed herself, he had not been himself. Gabriel distanced himself from life and his kids. He didn't mean to as he truly did want to love and get to know his kids, but since his wife's death, he just didn't have it in him.

Gabriel's kids were happy when Beth came into the picture to look after them. They finally got the love and attention that they where looking for. They instantly bonded with her. It wasn't long after Beth came into the picture that Gabriel started to see life in a whole new way. He began having feelings for Beth and he even began to smile again. Gabriel was starting to get to know his kids and he was very happy with Beth. He was even thinking about popping the question to her as he could see himself spending the rest of his life with this wonderful woman.

Then something happened... Beth disappeared. Gabriel had no idea what happened. It seemed like out of out of no where Beth was gone. He tried not to think about her and continue to worrying about her, but he couldn't help it. Just then the book that he was reading that he had set down on the table next to him had fallen to his feet. Gabriel jumped slightly and looked around. He didn't see the kids playing around and wondered what happened. He leaned over and picked the book up. "Hello? Is someone here?" he asked. He then wondered how crazy he sounded sitting there talking to himself when he knew he was the only one in the room. Or so he thought...

Beth was very pleased with herself as she had been able to make the heavy book fall onto the floor at Gabriel's feet, and now he was alerted to her presence in the room, even if he could not see her. "Gabriel, it's me... it's Beth. I am here," she said, talking urgently and standing right in front of him. She wasn't sure if Gabriel could hear her, as he said, "Hello? Is someone here?"

Beth then went to the window and began writing on the mist which clung to it. In scrawled letters the name "BETH" appeared before Gabriel's eyes. Beth had to make herself visible to Gabriel, but how? She had to warn him about the demons who were outside. Daemon had run seeing the spirit of Beth in the library, but he would be back. Beth decided to see if Gabriel might feel her touch; after all she had been physically able to manipulate the book. She approached Gabriel, her ghostly form floating about 6 inches off the floor. Her lips met Gabriel's, praying he would be able to feel her tender kiss. She kissed him with everything she had, considering she had been thinking she would never be able to feel or experience his sweet kiss ever again. She then drew back, staring into Gabriel's eyes, wondering if he had felt her touch. He had certainly responded as if he had.

Frustrated when no one answered him, Gabriel looked down. Something had forced him to look towards the window. He couldn't believe what he had seen next. He saw the name Beth appear on the window. "Beth? Are you here?" Gabriel found himself asking out loud and then felt foolish seconds later as he knew there was no possible way Beth or anyone else could be in the room with him. At least that is what he had thought.

Gabriel was proven otherwise. The next moment after he was convinced he was alone and no one was with him, he suddenly felt a strong presence in front of him. Gabriel the felt as if someone was kissing him. He closed his eyes and felt the kiss completely. He knew that kiss anywhere as it was very powerful and passionate. Gabriel opened up his eyes. "Beth?" He called out again. Gabriel was beginning to think he was hallucinating.

"Beth? Are you here?" He called out again.
