Chapter 5: I Got Time
Blaze the cat hasn't seen any of her friends in what seemed like forever. The last time she saw them, it was intense. See, the purple haired cat was trying to get back her Sol Emeralds. She was the prettiest Mobian cat alongside with a princess and a guardian. However, she didn't enjoy being called Princess or your majesty. Originally from Sol Zone, befriending Sonic the Hedgehog was one of the best decisions she has ever made. Defending Dr. Eggman Nega was rough but they made it through okay.
Now, it just seemed like every day was the same old day. Same place, different day. Where was the fun? The adventure? Blaze had befriended lots of people over her time exploring. Cream the Rabbit she was the closest too, however. Next was Amy Rose, they bonded over small things such as ambition and passion for adventure for a female. It wasn't long from their journey that Sonic had introduced her to Shadow the Hedgehog. Another warrior, and a hero. Although he had such a shy nature, his personality was good. He may seem like the type that didn't have a soul or showed emotion a lot, which he didn't show his emotions a lot, he still deep, deep down, had an amazing good-hearted soul.
Its been years since the Sonic Heroes had seen one another. The last time they saw each other, they had just finished defeating Dr. Eggman Nega and got back the Sol Emeralds for the Sol Zone. Blaze was the guardian for that island, so it was great how she was able to restore the emeralds to their proper place. Afterward she was able to find the peace she desperately deserved.
However, now her peace is over, and she is quite bored with her life.
And, to be honest? She missed Shadow. Shadow and Blaze were a lot a like in multiple ways. He was shy and quiet; she was shy and quiet. He was the man of very few words. Whenever they were together, his presence was most needed. He didn't force her to speak, he didn't call her 'your majesty'. He was patient, calm, polite (well, in his own way!). That was the kind of person Blaze needed in her life. They didn't fully know one another, but what she did know about him…was wonderful.
Blaze sighed to herself, pulling her white pajama robe closer to her body. Underneath was a silky nightgown. She lived alone with her pet bunny. Cream inspired her to go out and adopt a pet bunny. She named her bunny after Cream. Her first friend she had ever made here. The rabbit was her sidekick for many, many adventures. At first, the cat used the rabbit for her guidance. But after a while she considered her a friend. Somebody who she could be friends with for years. Which, they are still friends for years. With many more to come.
She walked outside of her apartment, moving onto the balcony. She was on the third floor of her apartment. The building itself had ten floors total, and she was on the third one. She didn't want to be on the complete bottom floor. But she also didn't want to be on the very top either. Being in the middle was perfect, it meant she didn't have to be on the floor with all the drug addicts and she didn't have to be on the very top with how high it is. Blaze had a horrible fear of heights.
Maybe she should call somebody…get them to come visit. Maybe she should call Cream the Rabbit, or perhaps Amy? Shadow…?
Her thoughts were dreadfully cut off by her telephone ringing.
Blaze got up from where she was sitting on her balcony chair and moved into her apartment rather quickly, so she was able to tend to her phone before it stopped ringing. Moving up her petite hand, the cat placed her house phone between her shoulder and her ear tenderly.
"Hello?" Blaze answered softly. Her voice tender, soft. It's also been forever since somebody called her on the phone. The only people who called her were her family members.
"Hello? Is this Blaze the Cat? I hope I got the phone number correct." The mystery person says back. It was obviously a woman's voice. Not one that she was familiar with though. The voice sounded girly, yet deep?
"Yes, this is her. May I ask who's speaking? Please." The purple girl replies, twirling her house phone cored in her forefinger. She had picked up on some manners from Cream, who provided the most manners out of all of them. Being friends with somebody for so long, you tend to pick up on some of their habits or slogans.
"Hi Blaze! This is Amy Rose. I'm sorry for calling on such short notice on this gloomy evening, but I'm having a reunion party at my house. I was wondering if you wanted to stop by. I know I speak for everybody when I say we're delighted to see you again." Amy says cheerfully. The cat's eyes widened significantly upon hearing that. Amy Rose…goodness, it's been too long. She would love to see her again.
It was silent for a few minutes. Blaze didn't realize it until after that she was practically keeping Amy hanging by not responding right away. During that time, she was debating on whether she wanted to go or not. Well, what If Shadow was attending? Then she would have to come. If there's one person she was super excited to see, was him.
"Yes Amy, I would love to. When is your party? I think I still have your address, it's still the same…correct?" Blaze finally responded back, eyeing at her bulletin board off to the side to look over Amy's address. Her whole bulletin board was covered in phone numbers, addresses, important information and due dates for her DIY projects.
"Yep! It's still the same. And well actually—it's tomorrow evening around 3:00p.m. I think that's an ideal time to host a party, don'tcha agree? It's not too late, and not too early! It gives people the thorough amount of time to get prepared." Amy says. That's another thing Blaze enjoyed about Amy is the fact of how cheerful she is. She's such a lovely person, both inside and out. She always knew what to say, she was the most positive person to ever come across.
Blaze nods. Although the pink heroine couldn't see her.
"Sounds great. I'll be seeing you then. Thanks for the invite." Blaze murmured; her voice was almost like a whisper. She wasn't purposely trying to sound like that, that's just how her voice sounded. Sometimes her voice would sound seductive, or times? Not so much.
That's probably why she got along so well with Shadow. Their personalities were so much alike.
"No problem girlie! I can't wait to see you. From the sounds of it, Shadow can't wait to see you either." It sounded like the pink girl was winking on the other end. Almost like she was trying to be suggestive.
Blaze's cheeks flushed up into a deep crimson.
"I- don't say things like that. I'll see you tomorrow. Thank you again—goodbye." With that, the cat hung up the phone. Of course, she never meant to be rude. Her anxiety just hit her like a ton of bricks. Hopefully, Amy understood ands never got offended.
Oh well. She'll apologize tomorrow at the party.
0000
The next day unfortunately came quickly. Blaze's alarm clock went off early so the cat could start her day. Getting up from her bed, she stretched and walked into her bathroom to take a quick shower. Perhaps today will be her adventure? It may not have physical action but maybe something else will happen to make up for it?
After showering Blaze moved into her kitchen to make herself some breakfast. Within a few minutes, she managed to put together a fruit salad for herself. Upon living on her own with no job, having little to no income, she had to come up with ways to support herself. Of course, she got some cheques from the city as a thanks for helping and being a hero, but that unfortunately didn't pay all the bills.
It didn't take long for the cat girl to finish up her breakfast. Quickly she cleaned up her house so it wouldn't be a mess whenever she got home, before she checked her wristwatch to see what time it was. The wristwatch read 1:30p.m. to which the girl had an hour or so to get there. Hmm. Perhaps she should just show up early, apologize for coming at that time and use the time wisely to catch up with Amy and whoever else was there.
Yes, that's a good idea.
Blaze locked the door behind her as she exited her apartment. She walked down to her apartment building and moved outside to get into her car. It didn't take her long to get there. Amy didn't live too far away; her house was only ten to fifteen minutes away, luckily.
As soon a she got there, Blaze walked up the rocky steps of Amy Rose's house, knocking quietly at the door once getting up there. Footsteps were heard across the home at the noise before they were opening the door. The sight of Amy made the cat girl smile wisely. She quickly bowed in greeting, muttering out a small hello.
Amy's eyes lit up once seeing her friend.
"Hi Blaze! It's so nice to see you. Goodness! You're early, that's okay though! I'm happy you showed up. Well, don't just stand there! Come in, come in silly." Amy giggles, stepping aside to let her friend inside her home. Upon entering, the girl noticed Cream and Tails were already there.
This time, it was Blaze's turn to lit up in the face amongst seeing Cream.
"Hi there…" The polite cat girl says sweetly, waving at the Rabbit. Amy gave her a hug when she was fully inside her living room. The hug wasn't returned at first, but once Blaze got comfortable enough and relaxed, she returned the hug. Cream was next she too, gave her purple companion a hug. Tails however, just waved hello for a greeting.
"Everybody else hasn't shown up yet. That's okay though, that just means we can catch up on lost time." Amy replies, as if she read the purple girl's mind. Great minds think a like. Blaze nods, gesturing for the pink heroine to go first. She didn't know how to begin; for her life isn't that exciting. She hasn't accomplished as much as she had hoped for. Her daily routines weren't even competitive, she did the same stuff every day.
"Well," Amy continued. Using one hand to slightly point at Cream and Tails, who both took the hint and caught on to what Amy was motioning at and grabbed each other's hand. "Cream and Tails are together now, finally! With my help, Tails officially asked Cream to be his girlfriend."
Blaze claps her hands softly, nodding her head.
"That's so amazing. Beautiful—even. I'm so happy for the both of you. You two are so good together, you're a total match for one another." Blaze coos, taking a seat next to Amy. Cream blushed harshly as Tails kissed her cheek along with her forehead in response.
"Thank you so much, that means the world to the both of us." Cream gushes, holding her cheeks embarrassingly. Blaze nods her head, muttering a 'you're welcome' at the two.
"How about you Amy? Any man in your life?" The purple heroine girl asked gently. The pink hero's face dropped a bit when hearing that question which left both of her friends confused. Even Cream was wondering what was going through the pink hedgehog's head. Yeah, lately she hasn't been talking much about Amy's life or problems which makes her feel bad about it now. Now, it looks like the pink girl needed to vent.
"Good question. I honestly don't know what's going on for me. I mean—Sonic and I have been seeing one another for so long and I know the idea of marriage has popped into both of our heads. I've been hinting at him to purpose to me for forever now, and one day just when I thought he was going to, he had our entire place set up as if he were going to purpose to me, I was so ready for it!" Amy says in distress, her features now showing sadness and disappointment.
"My excitement got the best of me and he didn't end up doing it. Instead, he thew a surprise party for me getting a raise at work." Amy finishes off, lowering her head with sadness. Tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
Although Blaze didn't understand completely about being in that situation, she still felt for the girl. Her depression and distress could be felt from over where the cat was sitting. Sonic and Amy seemed like a great couple, the thought of both getting married is such a nice thought. However, hearing that Sonic didn't end up purposing is such a disappointment.
"I'm sorry… I don't really know what to say, the words can't compose me. I may not know how you feel, but I can tell that this proposal meant a lot to you. I do hope Sonic kicks into some senses in the future." Blaze murmured softly, a gentle expression on her face to express her support for the pink hedgehog.
Amy wiped a few tears at that, giving off a small smile.
"Thank you, that truly means a lot to me. Except! I don't want this to be a Debbie Downer, this party is supposed to be a happy, positive reunion for everybody who hasn't seen each other in a long time. Let's not be sad, okay? I made cookies! Chocolate chip to be exact, would you like some Blaze?"
Amy's first saddened expression quickly turned positive; her face was showing positivity. The purple cat didn't know how somebody like Amy could quickly change expressions like that, but the girl pulled it off well. It's like she was meant to be this happy-go-lucky person. Besides, chocolate chip cookies sounded amazing right now.
"That would be delightful, thank you so much." Blaze says softly still, her whole attitude is soft, calm, and patient. Passionate for certain things in the world.
With that, Amy lead Blaze into the kitchen to try out her cookies she made earlier. Cream followed them inside the kitchen, chatting the other two girls up like crazy. Tails, however? Stayed behind and watched some TV. Nobody knew when the rest of them would be over; in fact, it was weird how Sonic wasn't here yet. Usually, he's one of the first people to show up.
It was an hour and a half before some other people began showing up. They all greeted Blaze with cheerful attitudes, happiness to have seen the cat. It's been forever since she has seen her friends. Next to come through the door was Sonic, speaking of the devil. After Sonic came in Rouge with Knuckles, with the bat hanging off the echidna's arm They too, like Cream and Tails, had finally became an official couple.
But none of those people had caught Blaze's eye compared to the last and final person to show up. Which was Shadow himself. He looked just as handsome as ever before, maybe even more handsome than before. He didn't greet off everybody like everyone else had, instead he stayed to himself. Leaning against the kitchen wall awkwardly. Well. It was safe to say that he was still the same old Shadow, shy and anxious.
Before she knew it, Blaze felt herself walking over towards the black hedgehog with red stripes on him. She stood next to him as he leaned against the wall. Nobody said anything for what seemed like forever, no words escaped either of their mouths. It was peaceful, sometimes you didn't need to interact with somebody to enjoy their presence.
Finally, the purple girl spoke up.
"Hello there. It's been a long time." Blaze says awkwardly. One of the worst first conversation starters when she hasn't seen Shadow for a while. One of the best things about him though? He wasn't judgemental, he didn't judge anything Blaze did or said.
"It has." Was all that Shadow replied back with. And well, this was the worst part. Both weren't very good with conversations, both of them didn't know what to say. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why they belonged together; they were so much a like in many ways.
Neither of them had a chance to continue with this horrible starter of a conversation, for Amy had called everybody inside the living room to play a game. Everybody's heads turned eagerly at the request. A game? That sounded…interesting. What kind of game? Blaze's thoughts were cut off by Shadow walking away from her gesturing her to follow him into the other room.
The powerful girl followed Shadow into the room, a light blush forming her cheeks from the hedgehog walking away from her with nothing else being said. Luckily, everybody was sat around in a circle. Something Amy had nicely demanded of everyone. Apparently, they were playing a game called 'Spin the Bottle'.
Blaze has not played such a game before, but it sounded fun. Okay. She'd play along.
Amy explained the rules with ease, slowly drawing out each point. So, the game began with people spinning the bottle around. Whoever the bottle lands on, the person who spun the bottle in the first place had to kiss that person. Huh. It sounded easy enough. Except, what if she had the chance of kissing Shadow?
Her heart pumped excitedly in her chest at the thought.
"Okay Rouge! You go first babe." Amy giggles at her best friend, cutting off Blaze's thoughts. The bat girl nodded her head at her best friend, a wild smirk invading her mouth.
"With pleasure." Rouge whispers, spinning the bottle quickly.
The empty beer bottle spun around the circle swiftly, making everybody's eyes lit up tenderly. Blaze kept her eyes intensely at the bottle. She wanted to know impatiently who Rouge had to kiss, this game truly was something else. What if, this spin the bottle game formed relationships? That would be nice.
Finally, the bottle stopped at Tails.
Everybody burst out laughing at it, meanwhile Cream looked pissed off. She didn't want her first and only boyfriend to kiss some other girl. Her cute beige cheeks turned into a bright red colour, almost as red as Knuckles' fur. So much for being a joke? It didn't seem like a joke. Cream truly did look upset.
Blaze didn't laugh, she didn't say a word. She didn't know what to say. Plus, she didn't want to make her poor bunny friend more upset by laughing or saying something.
Tails leaned over to whisper into his girlfriend's ear. Asking her if this was okay; because if not, he would happily decline the kiss then they'd continue on with the game. Cream let out a huge puff of air, eyeing around at everybody as they all looked at the two intensely. The rabbit didn't want to make the game not fun but not compiling to the rules. So, so sighed deeply. Nodding her head at her boyfriend.
That one swift nod of the head meant that was her approval of Tails kissing Rouge. Besides, it was just a game kiss, right? Nothing special or out of the ordinary there.
Rouge didn't do anything until her other best friend gave the sign of approval, she too, didn't want to hurt her friend. Cream meant a lot to her, kissing her boyfriend wouldn't be a very polite friend thing to do.
A few seconds later, Rouge leaned over and kissed Tails for only mere of three seconds. It was a quick kiss, something like you would kiss your mother or father with.
Blaze watched as Cream let out a sigh of relief with it being finished, hugging Tails close to her shortly after their family related kiss was done.
Next, Sonic had to kiss Knuckles which—was very…interesting to say the least. The bottle landed on Knuckles after Sonic went after Rouge. Both boys felt awkward, they made gagging sounds after and raced off to the bathroom to 'wash it off'. The girls laughed loudly, they found this to be quite funny.
It would be funny, but Blaze didn't have such a great sense of humour. She didn't find it to be very appealing.
The only thing she did find to be appealing is when it was Shadow's turn to go, and he had to kiss Amy. The bottle landed on the pink hedgehog, which made the purple cat's cheeks burn with jealousy and anger. She didn't want to play this game anymore, it wasn't fair. She got up from her circled group of friends and mumbled that she was heading to the washroom.
The last person she expected to follow her there, followed her. Which was Sonic. The blue hero noticed her distress while getting up from the circle and swiftly followed the cat towards the bathroom. Where he leaned his back against the outside of the closed door.
"Hey Blaze? Is everything alright? I came here to check up on you." Sonic's voice was heard from the closed door. Blaze too, had her back pressed against the wooden surface, her fists were balled up towards her sides. Her brain was all over the place, her emotions were running wild.
Why was she so upset while witnessing Shadow kiss Amy? She has never felt such a thing before. This jealousy feeling was new and unknown for her.
"Yes, I'm fine. Thanks for your concern. Just a bit anxious, I'm not very good with people." Well. It wasn't all a lie. Blaze truly wasn't the best with people, she didn't know how to handle them or know how to approach them. Being in a room with a lot of people was hard.
Just seeing Shadow kiss Amy was the hardest part.
"I know what you saw out there was difficult, I didn't find it very pleasant either. Nobody else may have picked up on your emotions and feelings, but I had. May I come in?" Sonic was being so kind, so sweet to her. What did she deserve to have such great friends?
Slowly moving away from the door, Blaze nodded even though Sonic couldn't see her and unlocked the door.
The hedgehog slowly opened the door and positioned himself in front of Blaze. Shutting the door behind him. He crossed his arms across his chest, letting out a tiny breath of air.
"Thank you…I didn't expect you to come after me, except you did." Blaze murmured, lowering her head with embarrassment. She felt like such a baby, she felt dramatic. She had never overreacted like this before. And again—she wasn't expecting Sonic to come comfort her out of all people.
"It's no problem, that's what friends are for." Sonic says, giving off his signature wink with grin.
Now Blaze felt foolish. She was standing against the doorway in the bathroom with Sonic the Hedgehog comforting her, she wasn't one to show her emotions. She wasn't one to show her true feelings towards anybody. She also didn't want to be spending her time completely in here, she wanted to go out and enjoy herself with all her friends.
"Well, I'm feeling okay now. Thanks again." Blaze murmured. Quickly making her way out of the bathroom, rushing back to her group of friends. The kiss had apparently already happened, for both Shadow and Amy were off doing their own thing now. Amy was in the kitchen making some snacks for everybody, meanwhile Shadow was silently sitting off to himself in the corner of the room.
Taking a deep breath, the purple cat made her way over toward where Cream and Tails were. Tails was talking to Knuckles and Rouge, who were sitting beside them. Cream's head perked up a bit when she noticed her friend making her way over. She gestured Blaze to sit down next to her, to which the cat compiled and sat down. Her emotions had calmed down, she felt better.
"Are you okay? You seemed to have rushed off to the bathroom rather quickly…then Mister Sonic followed suit, do you need to talk about something?" Cream asks sweetly. Tails wrapped his arm around his girlfriend, pulling her tightly into his side. The lavender heroine sighed briefly to herself.
She has never had such thoughts before…but why is it, that she suddenly wanted that kind of affection? Tails and Cream were so…cute. He treated her with the same amount of respect as she provided to him, it was such a nice thing to watch. Blaze wanted to find her own soulmate, somebody who treated her just as well as the two in front of her.
"No, I'm okay. Thank you for asking. I just had an anxiety attack for a second, Sonic helped me. I'm alright." Blaze repeated herself. Again—it wasn't a complete lie. Her anxiety was awful, it hit her a lot. Her and socializing don't mix.
"Okay, if you're sure. I'm here if you need me." Cream says cheerfully, moving to the side to bring Tails into a light sweet kiss. Causing the cat to sigh once more.
"Everybody, I made up some finger food appetizers, please help yourself!" Amy says, her voice sounded so cheerful and full of sunshine. She placed the appetizer plate in the middle of the surface of the coffee table.
On the plate were a variety of different foods, devilled eggs, a fruit tray, cheese, and crackers, and finally some nacho chips with dip. Blaze found herself munching on a devilled egg. She enjoyed eggs very much, she had a boiled egg at least once a day for one of her meals.
Halfway through the party, Blaze found herself drifting off with boredom. She wasn't bored with the company or the environment, just bored with nobody to talk to. Everybody seemed to be deep into their own conversations off to the side. Sonic was chatting with Knuckles and Tails, Amy was talking the ears off from Cream and Rouge, everybody seemed to be having a grand time. All except for her.
"Parties aren't really your thing either, hm?" A voice cut her thoughts off. Jumping slightly, Blaze turned around only to become face to face with Shadow. Who also seemed to not be that interested in the party or speaking to the others?
"I'm afraid not. I enjoy the company of my friends; I just wish the label 'party' wasn't there. It makes me feel awkward and left out. I also wish my social skills were a bit better." Blaze explains. Moving a hand to rub her temples softly, sighing deeply.
A few years ago, when she had just befriended Sonic and the gang, they were on one of their many adventures when they had come across Shadow. He was such a handsome hedgehog, with an even better persona. He said just the right amount of words, he wasn't judgemental. Everything about him…seemed perfect.
Both Shadow and Blaze were warriors with such great intentions. Shadow's love for Maria was outstanding, his passion for her was remarkable. Meanwhile Blaze's passion for saving her world with the Sole Emeralds was the same amount of passion and core as Shadow's love for revenge and to save his planet.
They became friends immediately. Both the hedgehog and the cat were very similar, they had lots of the same intentions. Both said very little, both were great warriors and fighters. Both had the same passions. How did they not become closer over their time being spent together? Shadow seemed like he was close with Rouge, who often took his full attention away from the Freedom Fighters.
"I know how you feel. I dislike people and parties." Was all that Shadow had said back, his voice was a quiet mumble just as Blaze's was. That's another thing…their voices and speech were almost the same as well. He was quiet and shy; she was quiet and shy. They were ambitious though.
The lavender girl let out a small soft giggle at the statement.
"Perhaps it wasn't such a great idea to come?" Blaze says back, turning her entire body to look back at Shadow tenderly. He shook his head at her in return, crossing his arms across his chest. A small smirk invading his handsome features.
"Not necessarily. If I hadn't have showed up…I would have never seen, you. It's nice to see you again Blaze." Shadow's voice was tender, light, and calm. Patient. Just seeing his cute face alongside with his amazing personality, it was at that very moment…that Blaze knew.
She was forming a rather large crush on Shadow the Hedgehog.
It was all uncommon and weird for her. Her heart was fluttering happily in her chest, her face was burning red. Throughout her life, she had never thought or considered having a boyfriend or a significant other in her life. Her entire life was fine without somebody by her side. However, since moving on from the adventures and living on her own, Blaze found herself to be very withdrawn and lonely. The thoughts were as heavy as questioning life's purposes.
"It's even nicer to see you. Thanks for coming. Would you, be okay to um…hang out with me a little more during the night?" Blaze asked quietly. Her heart was pounding even faster in her chest. She was really hoping he agreed. Spending all this time with him sounded lovely.
"Of course. But I think Faker wants us to head into the living room now. We'll chat more a little later, hm?" Shadow replies. Faker was Sonic, obviously. Sonic was calling everybody into the living room. Blaze found herself nodding her head in agreement at Shadow's request for chatting a little later and moved back into the living room. Plopping herself down between Amy and Cream.
"Hi gang. I've called you all in for something important. Now that I've got everybody's attention, I want to do this now." Sonic started to say, looking around the room before he continued. He walked over towards where Amy was sitting and kneeled in front of her.
Blaze, along with everybody else's eyes, widened. She knew exactly what this meant! She saw it in those fancy movies with the rich woman and the horrible man.
"Amy Rose…I knew from the moment I met you that you were the one for me. I may not have shown it for a long time…in fact, I pushed you away when you needed me the most. I gave off vibes that I hated you. I'm very sorry for that, I don't hate you. I love you very much. You are a beautiful, wonderful, kind, and caring girl. I can't imagine anybody else for me, I don't want to spend the rest of my life with anybody else. With this being said…will you do me the honours of making me the happiest hedgehog in the world and become my bride? Amy Rose…will you marry me?"
Sonic finishes off his speech by pulling out a small black box from his jacket pocket. He opened it up eagerly to reveal a beautiful magenta coloured diamond ring. It was beautiful and looked like it cost a fortune!
Rouge was the first one to react. Her reaction was screaming loudly in everybody's ears. Her loud claps were heard from across the room, Blaze felt herself covering her ears a bit. Cream was next, she was also clapping and cheering loudly. Tails and Knuckles wolf whistled, covering their mouths with their hands. Shadow? He just shrugged it off and gave off a sly smile.
Blaze herself, began clapping a bit. Letting out a small 'woo'.
Amy was speechless. She didn't react or say anything for what seemed like forever. She just stared at Sonic with shock, her mouth was gapped open, her eyes were widened. After all those times of Sonic false alarming and doing something else but purposing, this came completely out of the blue with such a big shock.
"Yes. Yes! Oh my god! YESSSS." Amy screams eventually, crawling over to give Sonic a huge hug. Kissing him all over the cheeks repeatedly, rocking them back and forth. Sonic laughs loudly, catching Amy in his arms swiftly. Rocking them back in return.
Everybody screamed loudly, except for Blaze and Shadow, where both just clapped. Smiles invading their faces. Goodness, this was so exciting. Blaze felt happy for Amy yes…she couldn't help the jealousy escaping her too. She wanted to be engaged, she wanted to be brought out on dates.
Upon letting Sonic go, Amy stood to the side with the girls. Rouge freaked over Amy's engagement ring. She grabbed the pink heroine's girl's hand in her own and inspected the diamond thoroughly. Gushing over it completely.
"Holy Chaos this is such a nice and very expensive…gem! You did good Big Blue." Rouge says, her voice full of seduction. She bats her eyelashes at the blue hero with ease, smiling widely. It was obvious she was impressed by the ring. She is a jewel thief, you know. Of course, she wouldn't steal from Amy since that's her best friend, but she was still in love with gems more than anything.
Sonic nods his head at Rouge, scratching the back of his head nervously. He didn't want to confess what he had to do to be able to afford that ring. Let's just say, his life savings are hating him right now.
After that, the party seemed to go forward. Amy cooked a nice meal for everybody, she made a BBQ chicken with some asparagus and potatoes for everyone. Shortly after dinner time, everybody chatted a little before it began getting late. Blaze checked the time on her wristwatch, noticing that it was reading just passed 8 o'clock in the night. She needed to head home and take a shower, then head off to bed.
Blaze had the sleep schedule of a little old lady. She was usually in bed by 9-10p.m. Sometimes later than that, but not often. Looking around the house, the purple haired girl noticed she was the first one to consider leaving. Oh well.
"This has been fun, thank you so much for having me. I must get going now…I'm usually in bed within the next hour and a half." Blaze says politely, giving Amy a light hug. To which it was happily returned. Cream was next, she hugged the cat girl tightly. Thanking her for coming and telling her it was nice to see her again.
Tails gave Blaze a shake of the hand, with a smile. Knuckle did the same. Sonic gave off a light side hug, patting her on the shoulder. Giving the cat a reminder that he is always a phone call away. Rouge waved goodbye to Blaze; she wasn't that close to the bat girl.
"It was swell to see everyone again, I'll be seeing you." Blaze shoots a goodbye, walking out the front door after congratulating Amy one more time on the engagement.
Shadow watched Blaze leave the house and licked his lips. Following the girl tenderly, rushing down the sidewalk of the area to catch up with the girl.
"Hey…wait up." Shadow mutters as he easily caught up to Blaze. Her cheeks began to heat up like it did previously earlier within the day, as her heart began pounding in her chest. Here comes the nervousness…
"Hi. Pleasure seeing you here." Blaze tried to joke but failed. Her sense of humour wasn't like the rest of them. However, Shadow chuckled anyways. She was too pretty to disagree with anything.
"I wanted to see if maybe you wanted to maybe…um." Shadow cursed under his breath. Scratching the back of his head. He was also nervous. "Maybe…if you wanted to, you know…hang out…just the two of us?" It structs clear to the girl that this was a hard task of him to ask.
Although the thought of hanging out with him once more made her whole-body tingle with butterflies. She nodded her head.
"I would love that. Thank you for inviting me. Can I grab your phone number?" Blaze asked sweetly, pulling out a piece of paper from her pocket along with a pen. This time, it was the hedgehog's turn to nod his head. Giving her a phone number to write down. The cat girl wrote down the phone number slowly, memorizing it.
"I'll be seeing you Blaze…oh, and. You look beautiful tonight." With that, Shadow quickly takes off into the night. Leaving behind a gust of black wind behind him.
Blaze watched him leave. Her cheeks were now fully exposed with a deep colour of red. His compliment made her entire night so much better. She couldn't wait for their time of hanging out again. Although, it did suck how she couldn't thank him for the compliment.
Maybe parties, company, and life without adventure wasn't so bad after all.
This was, by far, the best adventure Blaze has ever experienced.

A/N: Hello friends! So sorry for taking so long to upload this. I have ONE WEEK left of college before I graduate my two-year program! Needless to say, I've been busy as fuck. I'm going to be very productively busy this week, for it is my final exam week. So, I won't be able to upload all week. I'm uploading now for I have a few hours of spare time. After this? Not so much. I'll try uploading again either next week or the week after. We'll see!
Thank you sooooo much for everybody who takes time out of their busy days to write me a review, it truly means the world to me. Please leave me a review expressing your thoughts, feelings, or even a request for a future chapter. I can 100% promise I'll do my best to do it.
This chapter however, is dedicated to GodsLittleWoman018. I really hope you enjoyed it! I tried so hard for this one as well, for I only know a little bit about Blaze. Next chapter is going to be for the next person who requested something, AspergerHero.
Until next time friends, stay beautiful!
