"Hang onto my back, okay?" Zoro said, and Luffy tightly latched onto his back as Nami turned the vehicle around and sped back to the ship. Zoro could feel Luffy's shaking body from the crying, and smiled that he was going to get rid of those tears soon.

Robin was waiting at the edge of the railings, ready to pick everyone up. First was little Luffy, who collapsed on the deck, followed by Nami, then Zoro, and then, thankfully, the waver.

Nami punched Zoro's head hard, calling him a lovesick idiot. But she was glad Luffy was able to make it just in time and that Zoro had seen her. Zoro scowled at Nami for a second before going to Luffy, who was still crying a little, but calming down. He pulled her into his arms. But the storm was still going, and they really needed to leave.

Luffy watched the crew as they worked to get the sails down and anchor up so they could leave. She smiled that she would be strong enough to help after she was taught how. She could pull up the anchor, but was too light to work on the sails. She'd probably blow away. Chopper only helped in his humanoid form.

Once they were on the way, they all went into the galley to talk about what they were doing next. Luffy stood near the table awkwardly, not used to this. She was used to eating and hanging out with one person she could talk to. Here she was with six other people. Plus, there was no space for her on the benches. Zoro noticed this and took her hand, pulling her into his lap while they all sat at the table.

"Luffy," Chopper began. "I need to give you a physical as the ship's doctor. I won't do anything you don't want me to or are uncomfortable with. If you don't want the crew knowing something, tell me, and if you do, tell me that as well," he explained nicely. Luffy nodded.

"When?"

"In a little bit. I also need to know all of your abilities. And the rest of them would like to know, too." Usopp was visibly very excited, as was Robin. Sanji and Nami were interested, but not exactly craving to know what they were like Usopp and Robin.

"'I don't know where to start…'" Luffy said, being translated by Chopper.

"Start by making a pen so you can write to us," Zoro said nicely with a smile. So Luffy created a pen in her hand. Everyone besides Zoro gasped at that, and Luffy felt herself smiling in happiness but also feeling nervous that they might have too high expectations she couldn't meet.

Do you want me to create something? She wrote on the table, then erasing the words with her hand as it swiped across the letters.

"Whoa! What was that?" Chopper asked.

How I heal wounds and clean messes or fix damage. It's only for small things so I can't fix the ship's broken parts. Robin was grinning at this. She couldn't wait to see the rest, and Usopp and Chopper practically had stars in their eyes.

"Make a fluffy teddy bear!" Chopper said.

What color?

"Blue," he said. So Luffy created a fuzzy blue teddy bear with a bow on its neck. She handed it to Chopper, who inspected it. It even had stuffing in it. "That's so cool…"

"Can you make food?" Sanji asked. They would save so much money if she could just create ingredients. Luffy nodded and made a pile of apples. Everyone quickly snatched one and took a bite into it. They were all really juicy. "Amazing…" Sanji said in awe.

I can't make ingredients for food. It spoils really fast. And it won't be filling. Alcohol won't get you drunk either. Making food is only good for snacks.

"Well that's too bad. Could have had free food-"

"Can you make money?!" Nami shouted, staring at Luffy in excitement. Luffy grinned at her and a pile of coins fell out of her hands and onto the table. "Ahh! We're rich!" She went up to Luffy and yanked her out of Zoro's lap to give her a big hug. Luffy did her best to not push Nami away. She was Luffy's friend now. Zoro then yanked her away from Nami. Luffy felt like a doll being passed around jerkily.

"Hey, leave her alone! You're gonna hurt her," Usopp said, meaning no offense to Luffy. She could get hurt, but she'd be fine.

She finally sat back in Zoro's lap, everyone's eyes on her again.

"Oh! Is this what you meant when you said we didn't have to buy her anything?" Chopper asked Zoro. "Because she can just make whatever she wants?" Zoro nodded. "Can you do other things?" Luffy nodded.

Like she had the first time she met Zoro, both of her forearms morphed into two blades. Everyone gasped. Luffy was incredible.

"Ah. Did you use this power to defeat Zoro?" Robin asked. Luffy nodded in reply. "I can see why he lost so badly. Can you only turn into weapons?"

Luffy changed her small hands into jagged metal claws. She then coated the rest of her arms into steel as well.

Luffy's arms smoothly turned back to normal and her hands rested on the table. Then Robin looked at her seriously.

"Luffy, what happens to the people who never come back when they follow the nymphs? Do you kill them?" she asked. Everyone became silent, convinced Luffy wouldn't just kill someone. She shook her head and picked up her pen.

We can touch someone and make them disappear somewhere else. We call it "banishing". Nymphs don't kill, unless a human really hurts us. But that's not too often.

Then Robin asked another question she'd been dying to know ever since she learned that the humans and nymphs don't get along. "Why do nymphs hate humans so much?" Luffy's face grew dark and everyone quieted. Chopper translated this time, since Luffy would have taken a long time to write it all out.

'"A long time ago, we never retaliated against humans because we could just evade them most of the time and we didn't want to be hostile. But then, a bunch of newcomers came and took a lot of us to use as entertainment. The women were raped and turned into slaves while the nymph men were jailed and forced to watch. They used our powers to make them whatever they wanted. After we escaped, the nymphs killed all of them and everyone associated with those humans and taught all the others a lesson that they don't mess with us'."

Nami gasped and the others looked either furious or sick. Zoro was scowling, angry that it had happened so long ago so that he couldn't have taken part in the massacre of those evil humans. No wonder the nymphs hated humans so strongly. And Luffy had been able to get over that notion and see for herself if all humans were evil.

"'If we wanted to, we could kill anyone immediately. I'll show you'," Chopper translated. The others grew a bit uneasy at her wording. She asked for something disposable and Chopper hurried to get the bag of trash from the trash can.

She took it from him and just by touching it, it dissolved into nothing. The others gasped. "'If we wanted, we could erase someone completely and leave no remains. But, we never use that power. Nymphs aren't violent for no reason, or enjoy violence just because some like to battle. We heal opponents afterwards, after all'."

"Wow… She is stronger than anyone on this crew. Damn. You're going to make a great pirate Luffy," Nami said nicely. It was a relief to have someone like Luffy on their side. "You like stealing, are super strong and basically have a mashup of powerful Devil Fruits."

Changing the subject, Usopp asked why she almost didn't come today. Then he apologized for all of them for leaving her behind.

"'I was late today because my sister locked me in my room and I had to get away…'" Then Luffy's lower lip wobbled, like she was going to cry. But she sniffed once and banished the tears. "'I only got away because I faked my death. I fell down the mountain and my leg got stuck in the rocks and the bone is cracked right now. Once I got out, I made a realistic looking leg with one of my shoes and stuffed it in between the rocks so it looked like I'd been buried. I didn't get to say goodbye to Ace because of that…'" Chopper hated how sad and guilty Luffy's voice was.

Everyone was silent for a moment. Zoro kissed her head below him to try and comfort her. Zoro didn't understand the feeling of leaving someone behind, like most of the others did, but he almost had to and that was hard. So actually having to do it for good must be harder.

"...Wait a second… You said your bone is cracked?!" Chopper shouted. "Why didn't you say anything?! Why didn't any of us notice! Luffy, follow me to the infirmary," Chopper commanded, leading Luffy and the others to the room. The others finally got a good look at Luffy's leg, which was looking pretty bad. But at least the cast was created with good quality.

When everyone walked next to Luffy, it was unbelievable how much smaller she was compared to Zoro, Sanji and Robin.

"Luffy, how tall are you?" Robin asked, but Chopper interrupted whatever Luffy's reply was.

"We'll all find out after her physical. Why don't we do that now, Luffy?" Chopper asked as he led her to the single bed in the room. She obviously said yes to Chopper, because he immediately closed the door behind him and Luffy.

When he turned around to get his clipboard, he turned back to see Luffy holding her swollen leg tightly, scrunching her eyes up.

"Luffy? What are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm fixing the bone," she said simply.

"Wow… does this mean I can never be your doctor if you heal everything yourself?" Chopper asked, a bit sad at the thought of being no help to her.

"No, I can't heal illnesses, or get rid of pain completely in some ways. Like cramps."

She and Chopper waited for at least ten minutes until her bone was mended. Chopper watched in fascination as the swelling became smaller, and the purple tint faded into regular skin. Her leg looked good as new. "Wow…" Chopper breathed. "We should wash off your legs," he said.

The doctor went to the sink and turned the water on to wet a towel and wash the mud off of Luffy's legs and feet, forgetting she could get rid of the mess herself, but she humored him. Then the physical began. Luffy felt safe with Chopper in there. More so with any other person in the crew besides Zoro.

"I'm going to take your height and weight first," he explained, leading her to the scale that was also a height measure. Luffy stood on it and Chopper wrote down the results. She was 3'11 and weighed 50 pounds. That was almost as light as Chopper was in his usual form.

"If you don't want to, you don't have to, but I'd like you to take your dress off. You don't need to take off your underwear if you don't want to. But remember I'm part animal. I won't judge or have any strange feelings if you are nude in front of me. I have the others naked as well during the more extensive check ups." Luffy nodded and took off her dress. Chopper said nothing of her complete absence of breasts. Luffy wasn't human after all, and so she would not have the same body parts or functions.

"Alright. I need to know everything you know about your own body. Okay?" Luffy nodded her head. "Now, what is your menstrual cycle like?" Luffy didn't know what he was talking about. She cocked her head.

"Okay, how does pregnancy work for nymphs," Chopper reworded.

"That terrible week once a year happens, and that's when nymphs can get pregnant." Chopper looked shocked. Human women had their periods once a month, not once a year. No wonder there weren't that many nymphs on the island. If they could only be impregnated once a year, then birth rates were a lot lower, not to mention the hassle of getting pregnant in the first place. It often doesn't work even at the right times.

"And what happens during that week?" Chopper asked professionally as he led her back to the bed.

"It hurts really bad. And… there's a lot of blood, and our abilities don't work right during that week. It's different for everyone," Luffy replied. "It's terrible. We can barely move when the time comes… Sometimes the men have to bathe the women because it hurts so bad."

"I can see why. I'm sorry it is so painful. When does your week come?" he asked kindly, not letting on that he was completely shocked with what he was hearing. If Nami and Robin had terrible cramps once a month, it must be so much worse from so much time accumulating until that one week a year for Nymphs.

"Early August," Luffy replied simply and sadly. It wasn't too far away. She hoped the crew wouldn't be upset with her not doing anything but laying in bed curled in a ball, sometimes crying.

Chopper frowned. That was only a few weeks away. "Well, we'll be here for you, so don't worry," he reassured his newest nakama. He moved to a different topic because she was feeling ashamed about if she'd cause problems. "Don't worry. It'll all be okay," he told her. She nodded her head.

"I'm gonna listen to your heart okay?" Luffy nodded.

Her heart beat a little quicker than the humans he'd examined, but he felt it was nothing to worry about. He asked for permission to touch her bare skin, and she told him okay. She felt reassured with Chopper. He could speak with her and was an animal, so she didn't feel too awkward being half naked in front of him. But she didn't want to take her underwear off, which were tight, cotton short-shorts.

Chopper felt around her rib cage and abdomen. Her ribs felt a little different from the others, so he decided he'd take an x-ray. But he didn't know how her body would react to that. So he told her he'd try x-raying her foot first, to make sure she didn't react in any bad way.

The bones of her foot looked completely normal. She had the same amount of toes as humans, and it looked just like a kid's foot. Very small for a human's foot her age, but all of the nymphs were very slight.

She didn't react badly for the fifteen minutes they waited. During that time, Chopper told her how to work the bathroom instruments. He also questioned what her average lifespan was. She answered 60 years. Shorter than a human's by over a decade. It made him a bit said, but she still had a long time left.

Once he deemed her safe to x-ray, he x-rayed her whole body. Her skeleton had multiple differences than a humans. She had one less pair of ribs than a human, and her spine had less disks. Even if she was small, a human would still have the same amount of disks. Her pelvis was a little longer than a woman's would be, and narrower.

"Luffy, how big are nymph infants?" he asked. It might explain why Luffy's pelvis was narrow and small. Luffy put up her hands to show a tiny space. A nymph baby would barely fit into both of Luffy's palms. "W-what is the survival rate of a nymph newborn?" he asked hesitantly.

Luffy looked down. "Really low. Maybe one in seven survive." Chopper gasped.

"Nymphs have a very hard time reproducing, don't they?" Luffy nodded. "I'd call your species endangered." Luffy nodded again.

"Only a hundred of us left. And mostly women, too." Chopper frowned. This was sad. An amazing species was at the brink of extinction and there was really nothing they could do to stop it. Their situation reminded him of panda reproduction problems. The low birth rate and small window of time of being fertile.

"Okay, well, having tiny babies explains why the space in your pelvis is so narrow." Chopper then went through a vision test. Her eyesight was amazing. She was able to read a tiny print from a couple yards away.

"Nymphs can see in the dark, too. That's why some of us are nocturnal," Luffy said. Chopper then turned off the lights, making the room pitch black with no light source. Chopper turned into heavy point and held up four fingers.

"How many fingers am I holding up?" he asked.

"Three on your left hand and one on your right. You're mouth is open and your left foot is nearer to me than your right."

Chopper turned the lights back on. "That's amazing! You are so incredible Luffy!" Luffy blushed and gave a small smile.

"Thank you," she said happily.

"Are you against me looking at your genitalia?" Luffy shook her head no, automatically putting her hand in front of her crotch. "Okay, I understand. Are you against me asking some personal information regarding your genitalia?" Luffy shook her head again. She liked Chopper, but she hadn't even discussed these kinds of things with Makino. "I understand. You can put your dress and shoes back on. I'm going to ask some quick questions any doctor would ask. Do you have any allergies? Are there any foods you are allergic to?" Luffy shook her head. "Have you ever had medication? Injections or tablets?" Luffy shook her head.

Chopper let her go after he was done and his clipboard was full of amazing information. "Do you want me to tell any of this to the crew?"

"You can tell them everything except the stuff about a few weeks from now. I don't want to be a burden from the start." Chopper frowned.

"You're not a burden just because you have some inconvenient but uncontrollable and natural bodily functions. Besides, human women have their periods a week every month. Nami and Robin will definitely help you through your time. Just tell us when it starts," Chopper said kindly. "But I won't tell them if you don't want me to."

Despite what Chopper said, Luffy still didn't want the crew to know about her yearly cycle. Besides, it should be fine… Last year wasn't too horrible… No, who was she kidding? It felt like her gut was being ripped apart from the inside.

"I have pain medication and sedatives to help you through your week," Chopper told her nicely, reassuring her that everyone would be there for her. "How did you get through it at your old home? If there were no medication…?"

"Ace took care of me," Luffy replied, sounding a little bit sad.

"Well, now you have us. And I'm sure Zoro would help you the best as he can. He's not too gentle with things, but he's different with you, so don't worry. Let me know when it starts, alright?" Chopper asked kindly. She nodded and they both left the room.

To Chopper, that was the most incredible check-up/physical he'd done for anyone. Luffy was amazing, and it was horrible that her kind were very few and practically failed at reproducing.

When they left the infirmary, everyone was waiting outside. It made her feel uncomfortable. There were so many people around her. She stood there a little awkwardly, looking at her feet. Nami took pity on the girl and said, "Do you want to come to our room to set up everything?" Luffy nodded and walked after her to the women's room. Robin understood what Nami wanted, so she didn't follow the two, though she wanted to see more of Luffy's abilities at work.

Once Nami and Luffy were out of ear shot, Chopper spoke. "I think it's gonna take a little while for her to adjust. She's basically spent almost all her time with one person, plus, most of us are quite bigger than she is." The others nodded, having all thought the same thing.

"She's pretty comfortable with you," Sanji said. "Did she take her clothes off?" Then they all felt the scary aura Zoro was giving off, looking murderous at Sanji. He almost was worried with that look. "I meant it to ask if she was comfortable enough to do that! Jeez, don't freak out so much."

"You will not speak to Luffy unless someone else is in the room," Zoro said, still a tad angry that he'd even ask something like that, even if it wasn't meant in a sexual way.

"Well that's a bit controlling," Sanji snapped. Chopper never answered his question, but it was soon forgotten.

"No, I think it's a good idea until she adjusts more," Robin said with her hand under her chin. "We are already probably overwhelming her with our presence in the first place. Just as a precaution," she added, feeling bad for Sanji. He looked thoroughly depressed.

"Maybe this is a lesson, Sanji," Usopp said, only to cower behind Zoro when Sanji gave him a death glare. But Sanji knew they were right. He didn't want to make someone in the crew angry or suspicious with him. He'd make it up to her eventually. He knew he'd have a hard time not flirting with her, but if he just thought of her as more of a child in appearance, then it should be fine.

But seeing such a young looking girl be romantically involved with Zoro will be kinda weird. Oh well.
